Hey there,
some Car Manufactures are integrating smartphones in their car infotainment systems with mirrorlink.
Im working at a Skoda Dealer in Germany and Skoda (also Volkswagen) are supporting mirrorlink.
But there are only a few devices at the moment supporting mirrorlink. (HTC ONE M8 for ex.)
So my questions:
Needs Mirrorlink special hardware or is this only software?
Is there a possibility to add Mirrorlink support to a smartphone by a special app?
Or mayby by a custom ROM?
I want to buy a Moto G 2014 but Motorola is not supporting Mirrorlink for now, so im searching for a possibility to add Mirrorlink.

Hi,
is it possible to use rSAP or SPA and activate in the firmware?
I want to use it with my car bluetooth.
Cheers
Any word on this?
Current model VW/Skoda/Audi only support rSAP profile, which is a royal pain.
rSAP
Hi,
got my new VW with the premium phone set. I've found on the german wikipedia the list of rSAP supporting phones. Most Nokia models seem to support it as the premium phone set is actually modified Nokia BT set. I also found that the rSAP is supported by all HTC except G1 and one other model. This got me thinking if it might be more software than hardware issue of android which might not support rSAP rather than the phone itself. Anyone got any ideas about it, cause I don't wanna change my phone to nokia as my network does not have any other HTC mobiles in offer.

I'm pretty sure you are right that it NOT a hardware issue as much as a firmware issue. The protocol has just not been developed for Android.
The reason: Infancy and lack of subscriber base at this time. Not many people in the grand scheme of things have Android and even fewer have rSAP devices AND Android. Both platforms would have to gain more popularity before support will develop. Sad but true.
Just bought a car with Bluetooth support. At least I thought it did. It turns out that Volkswagen premium Bluetooth needs a phone with rSAP (remote-SIM-Access-Profile). Unfortunately the nexus doesn't support this, so I was wondering if there is a custom rom like cyanogenmod that supports this.
If it helps, it's the RNS 510 radio from 2008.
I know the TREX Rom has RSAP support, Purity Rom should have this included, too. I had the same problem with my Opel Insignia.
But im looking for a Rom with Theme Chooser support and RSAP support.
Anyone have an idea? Trex Rom isnt designed for me
Hi there!
Does anyone know, if aptx is supported?
Got info from moto chat
Michael Anthony: Hi, my name is Michael Anthony. How may I help you?
Szymon: hello
Szymon: does moto g 3rd gen support aptx bt audio?
Michael Anthony: I understand your concern and no need to worry I'll be more than willing to assist you since here at Motorola, we always want to make it right.
Szymon: so please answer
Szymon: because sound quality with my car head unit over bt is very poor
Michael Anthony: As per checking, Our Moto G 3rd Generation supports most of the Bluetooth receiver.
Szymon: but does it support aptx standard?
Szymon: like moto g 1gen did
Szymon: this one http://www.aptx.com/
Michael Anthony: Yes, that's correct.
Szymon: so why it isn't on the list?
Michael Anthony: As long as you have an aptX bluetooth audio receiver that it can be connected to the Moto G 3rd generation.
Szymon: it is mentioned in any aptx support list?
Michael Anthony: Because the Moto G 3rd Generation is new released smartphone from the market.

Anyone can check, if it is a truth by debugging bt?
I can't because, I don't have apt compatible head unit yet.
I got a fitness band recently, and had my Moto G stolen from me. Is it possible to add a bluetooth 4.0 hardware to the phone?
I've been wondering about hardware tinkering for a while. Just wanted to know.
Hi,
Nope, impossible.

Has someone tried to use the Pixel under mirrorlink connection in any car?
Does the phone supports mirrorlink? (not only Android Auto)
br
Chris
It's not under supported phone on the mirrorlink website. I use my chromecast, put my phone as a Hotspot and mirror my phone to my Civics touch screen. That is the best I could do.
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Hello,
thanks for your reply . I know it isn't listed, but, for example, the HTC Desire 610 is not listed, too but it works great!
Therefor my question, if someone can try the mirrorlink funtion with the Pixel

Chris
Pixel + Kenwood DDX9903s = No
okay,
thanks for your help!
