Is anyone else using this on T-Mobile? I have had mine for a few days now and noticed that I do not receive calls when I am on LTE.
I have tried calling from another phone, get one ring and then voicemail with no notification at all on the XZ that anyone has called.
I do not mind that it drops to 3G or H+ when I call out but not getting calls is a serious issue.
Sony chat support only told me that on paper it should work and told me to go to T-Mobile for more info.
T-Mobile, after an hour and a half on chat told me they will put a ticket into their engineers to look into.
What version do you have? I mean dual sim or single sim?

I have the single sim version
Mine works fine on T Mobile. No wifi calling or volte (yet, hopefully), but LTE works and I get all calls and texts.

Out of the box and put the sim in? No changing anything or other setup?
Might have to return mine and see if it was just a bad phone
Yeah, pretty much. Double check your mobile network and APN settings, though.
Update: received replacement and it works perfectly now. Original phone from Amazon came open and this new one was sealed. World of difference.

either will work, but I'd recommend single S.I.M. as this is common variance for U.S.A. and allows S.D. card support.
Mine works fine with ATT i get Lte i have F8332 dual sim. I just downloaded the correct APN settings.

The dual SIM version also allows SD card support, just not when using two SIMs at once. But it also comes with double the storage (64GB vs. 32GB), so you're less likely to need an SD card in the first place.

Unfortunately, you have to do this with all Sony phones (in my experience).
So yes, I'd consider this "out of the box" support as far as relevance to the conversation goes :/
I got mine from best buy and it was opened too (the box was not sealed in plastic bag like every other phone) i went to best buy and asked the guy why it is not sealed he said we open it before shipping to make sure it is the colour customer wants. But I dont have any issues so far on T mobile. I get calls and texts and internet is fast. The only problem I noticed so far is double tap to wake screen is not responsive all the time.
yeah I have a XZ on the UPS truck for delivery today, I`m on att and curious to try it out and see, I had the Z5 premium before in the past, the camera wasn`t very good, I wanted to order the 128gb OP3T, but there out of stock. so well see if I keep the XZ or return it and wait for the 128gb OP3T to come back in stock.

XZ is 499$ in Best buy just saying. Also can you please let us know if your Sony box will be unsealed too when you receive it? Mine was unsealed and I have no issues with it but just curious. For good pics you will need to change camera resolution in settings. Or use google camera it seems to perform better the stock one.

yeah Finally got the XZ, it`s nice phone, I tried to search for the Google camera app on google play and it doesn`t come up, I set the camera to 23 4:3 and the pictures still are not very good, my box was not sealed either, I`m on the fence about keeping it I wish the screen was bigger like 5.5 on Z5 and brighter led notification like the XA ultra I have right now too. so we`ll see.

Yeah I did update to 7.0 and restarted the XZ and did so the search on Play store and doesn`t even show the Google camera app, I even have my XA ultra out and it won`t even show the Google camera app on that either, I went order the 128gb OP3T says it should ship in 7 days, so I`m sending in the XZ back, keep my XA ultra as backup phone and use it until my OP3T comes in.:good:

Strange. I have google camera but it does not matter anymore. I wanted OP3 too but I wanted some water resistance features. If OP4 will have that I wont even think amd switch to it. But for now I am happy enough with XZ
I'm using an Xperia XZ Dual on T-Mobile USA with no problems whatsoever.

I just got this device, model D6633. Seems that it's just the same as regular Z3 except for dual SIM card. I was wondering if root will be achievable on this model once its out for the single SIM Z3?
Thanks! Fantastic phone by the way. best allrounder on the market
As my experience with Note 3 Duos, there is no differences in rooting and recovery conpare to 1 sim variant.
Ps: is Z3 Dual enable HSPA on both sim, OP?
Im actually curious about this as well as I have the opportunity to get the Dual sim version but need to root

Where did you buy it? Online? I'm looking for importing it from Poland, the only European country who looks to be receiving it.
How's the dual sim's functionality? For example when you receive or do a call or a SMS, is there a button to switch lines or what? Where do you put the second SIM? Is the flap bigger? Sorry for questions, never had a Sony Dual...

The microSD card is moved next to the charger which now has a bigger flap. Both SIMs go next to each other in the right side flap. I'm only using it with 1 SIM card right now, but on the Call buttons and so on there's a small "1" so I'm guessing if I had two SIM cards there would be two buttons or some way to make the call from whichever SIM you want. You cannot also use two simultaneous data connections. the whole setup is pretty neat to be honest. Loving this, can't wait to travel now. lol.
I bought it locally (I live in Beirut, Lebanon) for 800 USD. Pretty steep but that's the way things go around here.

Interesting, some questions:
1. are the sim, both NanoSIM?
2. both data connection simultaneous, means you can have double speed??? That would be awesome
3. Youyr version is 16GB? Any news if exist 32GB variant?

According to this only the D6616 has a 32GB option. That's disappointing as the D6603 will be the 'mainstream' model.

That is inaccurate. check my post on page 1 containing a screenshot that clearly shows you can only use one SIM data connection.
Do you mean, that you can only use one connection at a time or that one slot is 2g/3g/4g and one is only 2g?

He misunderstand my meaning. He installed one sim and don't want to change sim slot to test. As Z3 D6633 manual: only one 3G/4G connection at a give time but on any slot/sim.
My Note 3 Duos has 1 slot can be used as 3G connection, another only for 2G

Hey guys.. I just got my Xperia Z3 D6603 in the mail today and I can't get simultaneous voice and data working at the same time. Here is a little back story.
I owned a AT&T Note 3 up until about a month ago when I got my OnePlus One. So I removed the Sim from my Note 3 and it worked find in my OnePlus One. Since the Z3 takes a nano sim, I cut my sim card with a sim cutter. I put it into my phone and it appears everything is working fine since the Z3 has the ability to download the APN settings. However when I make a call, the 4G symbol changes to H+ and I can't use data while on a call. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Can someone with a AT&T sim try this on your Z3?

Sorry but I have heard weird things before about cut Sim Cards and one of those things is exactly as you described. So, if everything else (meaning APN settings) are fine, then your best bet is to get a new Nano Sim from AT&T.

One more thing, I just saw this on other thread, so take it in consideration, just in case.
<<D6603 and D6633 will support AT&T LTE. Whatever you do, do not give AT&T your updated IMEI or their system will register it as "unknown" device and you will get 3G only.>>
Direct Link here.
Thanks guys. Headed to the ATT store now to get a new sim. I will make sure they dont get the IMEI of the Z3
Update...
Just got back from the AT&T store. I got a new nano sim card and we left the IMEI settings for the Note 3. I can now do simultaneous voice and data at the same time except I still I lose the 4G symbol and it goes to H+ like it did before. I did do a speed test and it is slower. I'm getting about 13mb down on 4G and about 6mb down on H+. So i think something is still not correct. We did check the APN settings and they look fine. Any other suggestions?
This may be normal. I guess my other phones never switched symbols but it was probably happening in the background
I have a d6603 as well using a nano sim from AT&T. I get data with voice but i only get H+ and not LTE speeds. Is anyone else seeing this or is it normal
wolf0491 said:
How often are you using data while in a phone call? Sorry I just don't understand while only having access to 6Mbps is really a problem. Still a pretty decent speed IMO.
I'm using a cut sim card in mine and it seems to be working fine.

I am not complaining and i rarely use data while on call except if i am put on hold or something. Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this and fixed it.
I'm not complaining either since data speeds seem fine. My initial issue was that I did not know if this was normal. My Oneplus and Note 3 do not change to H+ or anything but that could be that the software is not changing it but it is still only working as H+ while on a call. It wasn't something I'm used to and wasn't normal for me. Which is why I thought there might be a configuration issue somewhere

ATT does not support voice over LTE yet, which is why the data symbol changes.
Previous phones did not show this in order to make you believe you were still on LTE.

Your post is a little old...I just came across it. So you want your phone to do Voice over LTE(VoLTE)? If yes, I know the T-Mobile branded Z3 has that option in the call settings, but the unlocked D6603 doesn't seem to have it.
So im in need of replacing my htc droid dna cause its having issues with the battery
And my service is freedompop which works on the dna and last i herd the 6x will too?
It seems like the 6x will be great for me cause it seems like it will handle gaming really good which i mostly do on my phones lol..
And seems too be good with custom roms etc which is a plus!
And its 50$ off on bestbuy and bhp early black friday. i wonder if it will go any cheaper around the real black Friday even tho i doubt it.
I've recently ordered this phone and have a FreedomPop LTE sim. When it arrives I will let you know whether or not it works, but I'm sure it would since the phone works on ATT and Tmobile, which are the carriers FP's LTE sims use.

I think you may not be getting it earlier because the carrier didn't support it.

There are surprisingly many phones that support VOLTE out of the box (including some cheap Xiaomi) so it's hard to understand why OnePlus can't get this sorted.

Here you go... This is on my OnePlus 6, with my primary SIM (SIM 1) running on T-Mobile US. My second SIM is on FreedomPop (ATT MVNO) and only has 200mb of data, so it's more just in case of emergency. Let me know if you need anything else.
Now we just need know if RCS Universal Profile will be supported. Sadly it's not rolled out on T-Mobile ( hopefully by the end of next month though) so no way to test it on there but, it would be nice if someone on a carrier that already has it turned on could confirm with us that it's working on the OnePlus 6 or not.

thank you for that, i just purchased a op6 i should have mid next week, i will decide then which to keep, p20 pro or op6
how is the camera on the op6?
i miss the speed and stock feel of oneplus, also ok google doesnt work on my p20 pro - i think its a global issue with huawei.
the only thing p20 pro has going for it is its camera. everything else is sub-par, two year old soc, bloated emui, un-needed services, huawei breaking googles apis in favor of its own, etc etc.
i can see huawei creating its own OS to try and compete with android in the not too distant future, thats where ill draw the line.
theybe already made it hard enough for developers.

I don't have much to compare it too, as I was using a OnePlus 2 before this, and my backup phone was a Nexus 5. Plus, I take pictures on a Canon 6D when I'm out taking photos. But from the little I've played with it so far, it seems reallyy good! I'm sure it's not P20 Pro good, but that's to be expected, and from the sound of it, the shortcomings of the P20 Pro in every other aspect sound like it's not really worth it. I have the 8GB + 128GB Mirror Black, and this thing is ridiculously fast. I've taken a few photos with my favorite camera app (Manual Camera - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera2&hl=en_US) and so far they've come out really nice.

can you post some pictures from your op6? i
the p20 pro is a great camera, pictures are NOT realistic, almost cartoonish, even with AI off, everything is over-saturated.
I've never owned a OP phone, but I really want to buy one, always used HTC phones. Would really like the phone to be able to get VOLTE. I know the OP5T couldn't get VOLTE in Australia, so hoping that changes with this phone
My OnePlus 5 had VoLTE, worked flawlessly on T-Mobile.

Here you go... This is on my OnePlus 6, with my primary SIM (SIM 1) running on T-Mobile US. My second SIM is on FreedomPop (ATT MVNO) and only has 200mb of data, so it's more just in case of emergency. Let me know if you need anything else.

If you don't mind, can you pull out the TMo SIM and just use the ATT one, and make a call and see if it says "HD Call" in the dialer, and while *on the call*, does the cellular service stay on LTE or does it change to HSPA until the call ends?
That will tell us if they sorted out the VoLTE issue with ATT that the OP5T had...
VoLTE was enabled automatically on my phone as I set it up. On Norwegian bands, so it definitely works in Europe now. Phone calls sound great!
Yeah, the phone obviously supports it, and it is up to the carrier to provision it, or not.
In the US, AT&T would not provision VoLTE to the OP5T. So if you are someone that pays for a tethering plan and needs to do that from time to time, you can tether on LTE, but as soon as you make a phone call your cell service drops to HSPA(3G) and it's like being on dial up. So you can tether, or you can make a call, but you can't really do both at the same time effectively.
I am hoping this isn't an issue with the OP6, else I can't use that phone...

I tried, but the issue is that I don't think I get "HD Call" at all being as my second SIM isn't straight ATT, it's FreedomPop (ATT MVNO), so I didn't see the HD Call while on the call via that SIM card (I removed the T-Mobile SIM and put it in my old OnePlus 2 to place the test call between them).
However, while on the call I ran a speed test and got the below results:
Than I re-ran the speed test, while NOT on a call, and here are the results:

Check out the Camera section over on the Review forum, I'll take and post some pics up there in a bit for you.

I've been offered a pretty good deal on the Verizon version of the phone, but I don't have an IMEI to run through Visible's compatibility checker. Their website lists the 8 and 8 Pro versions as being compatible but doesn't specify any exceptions.
I'm hoping someone has tried the Verizon version of the 8 on Visible and can chime in and tell me it works fine! I will of course run the IMEI once I have the phone in my hands, but I like to know what I'm getting into ahead of time.
TIA!

You are awesome! Thank you for checking. I can buy the unlocked one, but I'd like to have the option for Verizon 5G if Visible offers it at some point or I switch back to Verizon.
You'd think that Verizon phones would have no problem working on Visible, but I have many and literally none of them work. My main driver is also a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and it works flawlessly on Verizon but will not even hint at connecting to Visible.

I bet if you where to put a visible sim in, then update your apn settings it would. Does the Xiaomi have a CDMA radio in it?

Yeah I've tried everything. Anything I could find that gave me a chance to get it working I tried, but no luck. My wife's iPhone is already on Visible so I've been using her SIM to test with.
It's ok though. I'm happy to upgrade to the new phone for a good deal, sign up for a cheaper plan and also gain the option for 5G.
