I'm trying to tether with Bluetooth and I'm currently on sprints network. But when I activate the tethering it says that the service is not supported. I'm curious if anyone else gets this. I contacted sprint and they tried everything and couldn't figure it out. Anyone have any info?

I am stuck using wifi tethering on my trusty TP2 for my laptop and just tried connecting my HTC 7 Pro to the wifi and it doesn't even show up. I never tried this on NoDo, can anyone else confirm this doesn't work? If so this needs to be fixed.
Sidenote: I remember reading that Microsoft hasn't included tethering yet because carriers don't like it. However, I think this is mostly restricted to US carriers because in Europe I've never heard such things. Give us built in tethering!
When I leave a wifi network (physically), instead of the phone recognizing that it's no longer got a wifi connection and flipping to LTE, it thinks it's still on a wifi network.
The only way for me to get my connection back is to temporarily toggle wifi off. Both Wifi and LTE seem to work fine otherwise.
Anyone else experience this?
Very common bug. Hoping an ota comes out soon.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Appologies, my searches didn't turn anything up somehow. Need to take Google 101 again, I suppose.
Good to know I'm not alone with this bug.
Sup all,
My main use will be to set up a wifi hotspot for my car's tablet.
Has anyone using net10 (att sim) been able to use the wifi tether successfully? If so, how's it been, if not, what happened or what?
Thanks!
Has anyone found any way to get non-root tethering to work? PDAnet+ USB tethering works, but I'm trying to see if there's a means to get wifi tethering to work. None of the online methods I've found seem to work with the Z3.

I'm using the stock app for tethering and it works just fine. Does the stock app not work for you?
Does your T-Mobile plan include tethering? @lowfatcreamcheese
My plan does not include tethering.
Same situation here... Did you find a way to do it?
Am always on the go cause of work and school so WiFi tether is a must for me.
I think root is the only way you're going to have wifi tethering. I really like the phone but between QC issues and losing some root options like tethering I'm starting to wonder if I should have stuck with the galaxy line.
Okay guess am not getting it... I have the LG g3 and I was thinking of getting the z3 but WiFi tether is very important for. Thanks for me. Thanks for the reply

On the T mobile firmware, when you start the hotspot it checks for a brief second your account so some system app tells t mobile you're enabling it.
On my previous T mobile Xperia Z I used a generic firmware so the hotspot worked no matter if you have the hotspot service or not.
On my t mobile Z3 I have hotspot service so the tether works great via wifi, bluetooth or usb.
Typed on my Xperia Z3 while underwater.
I guess it's going to be moot in a month or so. TMobile sent me a postcard, looks like they're getting rid of grandfathered plans. I believe all plans minus maybe the prepaid ones have tethering now.
My Axon10Pro quit receiving or sending phone calls with AT&T last week.
I got it to work by enabling VoLTE calling.
Now, I'm no longer getting data over the cell network.
Same SIM in other phone works fine (voice, text, data)
Anyone else seeing similar behavior?
Any recommendations to fix this?
Samsung S9 G960F. Just left an AT&T store trying to get this fixed, it's a national 3g shutdown. Everything was working fine last night. I guess calls are still operating on 3G even if 4G data is working. I'm wondering if updating to the latest stock software would fix anything?
