Google Pixel Dimensions?? - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Hello, I am working on designing a dock for the smaller Pixel. I am in need of some dimensions, and I would be very grateful for anyone who could measure these with a calliper. All of these would need to be without a case.
1. Overall width of the phone
2. Overall thickness of the phone
3. Height from the bottom of the phone roughly to the center of the fingerprint sensor
4. Distance from the right side of the phone to the right edge of the right speaker hole
5. Overall speaker hole width
6. Length between the inside edges of the speaker holes
7. Height from the bottom of the phone to the bottom of the Volume Down button.
If anyone can help fill these in I would really appreaciate it. I would prefer the measurements to be in mm.
Thank You!

[Request] Looking for case with band on back for increased grip single-handed use

Hello.
I'm looking for a case which not only simply protects the One S, but also includes a sort of band or hook or anything at the back where you put your fingers (2 to 4) underneath for extra grip when handling the device single-handed, especially useful for vertical use of the phone instead of having to balance the gripless (grey) device in a horizontal position, hoping it doesn't fall off your hand when using it single-handed.
Ugly example image attached.
Can be either a hard band, or a slightly stretchy leather band on a leather case, as long as at least 2 fingers can go underneath for grip in vertical position. Default cases without a band won't allow single-handed control over the entire screen in the vertical position and while adding grip, is still not secure enough even in the horizontal position.
I hope anyone knows of such cases (or how to mod/make them?), I don't even know how to call these, help will be very much appreciated!

Microsoft Surface RT build quality

I have had my Surface RT for a few months now and I can honestly say that the build quality of Surface RT is just solid - it feels like a slab of titanium or something. It doesn't get dents, it gives dents..to walls, tables etc.
Not that I think it is a problem, especially when compared to the competition, but I am not sure the precision of the build quite matches this great solidity. I am looking to do a little comparison so I am going to list all the little tiny misfits I could find on my Surface because I am wondering if these are common or just random.
1. The kickstand is not perfectly flush with the device when closed. And it sticks out a tiny bit more on the power connector side of the Surface.
2. The thin metal plate on the back above the kickstand doesn't seem to be flush with the case near the 3.5mm audio jack. Also, at the same side it seems a bit dent inwards on the corner where it meets the plastic strip (see attached photo).
3. The screen glass seems to go just a little bit deeper into the device right below the capacitive Windows button. It's mostly flush everywhere else.
4. The whole device seems a bit bent like a boomerang. I tried putting a ruler on the screen lengthways, and the middle of the screen didn't reach the ruler.
All of these things listed are barely noticeable.
Also, though the finish seems really tough, I think it might be a bit weaker near one of the corners where some grey metal spots started appearing.
I am not having any issues with the touch cover though you can easily tell it's been used just by looking at the bending place and the rubbery corners.
Despite all this I am confident that this is by far the most stunning piece of hardware I have ever seen, especially bearing in mind it's price.
I just got my second replacement. First one had a light leak in the middle of the screen. The second one that I just returned because of dead pixels was the worst in build quality, probably just a bad batch or unit. It had all the symptoms you describe above. In addition the volume rocker was asymmetric and (-) all the way down with almost no response to a press. All three had/have the thin metal plate at the camera not entirely flush with the rest towards the audio jack. This new unit I have is otherwise perfect. the kickstand is perfectly even, the buttons are all symmetric in response. Most importantly the screen on this is perfect, no dead pixels or light leaks (only the ones at the edge which are only visible in the dark). Very happy with this one.
If you live close to an MS store I'd take it in and ask nicely if the problems you see warrant a replacement. I did and had no issues with exchange.
cheers

Note10+ (Top screen gap / space)

Hello,
Received my Note10+ yesterday, so far love the device.
I just noticed today (this morning) on bright sun / light a gap of couple of millimeters on top of the screen.
Looks like screen is not going to the edge on top side only, is this normal?

Please see image for better view / understanding.
Thanks
that gap is for the sensors and speaker
Thank you very much for your time and responding to this thread.
I am a little bit confused, isnt the speaker at the bottom?
I had Samsung S10+ until yesterday, and i do not remember seeing gap like this (its not the same phone, but, probably similar design / i might be wrong though).
Thank you
The gap in the middle 2 arrows are the cut out for the front speaker the other gaps are where the screen meets the frame sometime there bigger on different phones its hut and miss
But if it bothers you exchange it for one that fits a bit better
Thank you very much for responding.
I think i have 15 days to replace / return the phone (i will re-check), but, if its kinda normal, and possible on any other phone, even replacement, i do not think its wise to do it.
Once i put case on, i do not even think it will be that visible (hardly visible now as well if not on bright light).
Biggest concern if this would affect IP68 in anyway
Thanks

I think there is a way you can test the ip rating without obviously putting it in water
Back when I had the xperia phones you could squeeze the device and check the pressure didn't rise and stay risen to indicate its water tight
Thank you again for your time.
I decided to test that gap by pouring water on it for about 20-30 seconds, no issues at all.
I will not bother with this, will just enjoy the phone.
Thanks again.
The picture link is not working. From my understanding the only small gap should be in the center where the top speaker hole is. But the left and right side of the top speaker till the corner should not have any gap. I am having the same issue. I'm going to check to see if other models are like that.
Same, should not be there.
In the end i decided to return the phone.
Upon closer inspections took some photos and judging by other demo units on display. They all have that white line gap. Some are more noticable than others. But same line can be seen. I compared 3 different phones from different stores. They all exist. It's seems like that white line looks like maybe it's the adhesive glue. The middle does not have it where the ear speaker cutout is, where the ear speaker hole ends on both side left and right white line is visible because of the extra gap on both sides and it appears that the line stops before the corner on each side of the glass on the top. It's maybe nitpicking buts it's really annoying. I checked on the S10 it's not present on that model and none I see on the Note 9 too. I checked. And since it's like white color can be visible inside the small gap line on the top where the glass meets up with the metal frame.
I actually just discovered that I can get a piece of paper down between the top of the screen and the frame on my Note 10 +!!!??? All along the top of the glass - from the top left corner to the right?
Is this what you are talking about? And will the phone still be waterproof? (There could still be a rubber membrane that prevents water from entering the insides of the phone...)

Quiet Bottom Speaker

My XZ Premium's bottom speaker has suddenly become much quieter than the top speaker, about 1/3 to 1/2 the volume of the top speaker. It still sounds great as a phone, but rather off-balance especially in landscape stereo.
I had the same problem, I opened my device and detected that the button panel flex was making false contact, so I removed the screws from the upper antenna and added some electrical tape over it. And the problem was solved.
same problem here. altho always been the case for me?
it's like 15% of what the top one is.. the phone has no plastic covering the button panel flex currently and it didnt change the behaviour

Question Camera glass doesn't seem to be level

Maybe it's just me, or I'm about to get the shattering cam problem on my 7 Pro, but it seems that my camera glass isn't fully level relative to the aluminum, and even less while not in the case. Can anyone else tell me if they also notice this?
Steps to reproduce
Grab your Pixel 7 (Pro)
Place your finger or fingernail on the left (the long pill) camera glass
Swipe your finger to the right, towards the smaller pill/flash
Notice how there is a bump
Swipe your finger to the left, towards the edge
Notice how the bump is smaller, while in my case non-existent
I have got to be going crazy, but while I'm here, if your camera glass broke, what was your experience with the support? Did they replace the phone?
