Hi guys, Today I was looking at the system partition,
I have nougat 7.1 and found apps in 3 folders
/System/app/ i know here have system apps
/System/priv-app/ I know here have system apps with more permissions
/System/framework/ here I found only two apk
Framework-res.apk and also Something like CyanogenMod apk
Today I have installed one apk in /system/framework/
My question is, what the difference in permissions of apps installed on this folders?
and why anyone install apps in /system/framework/ ?

Hello, Devs!
Recently, I'm playing with DSIXDA kichen to make a Custom Rom. I created a .tar which contains the /system partition with TerMulator. And i set it as working folder. I want to convert some apps like JellyBean keyboard and Walkman to System apps. But, when i do, the application's force closed. And before that, I tried to push those apk to /system/app and set it as RW-R-R and after reboot, it FCing all the time... And my ROM was Deodexed. My question is, how to convert those app to system app without having FC? Please, those who know the way, guide me
Thanks in advance
Hi there,
I had problems to use the DeskClock.apk in cm-11-20131203-EXPERIMENTAL-mmmmm....chocolate_selinuxon-apexqtmo-45.zip.
But I really like this app for my daily alarms.
So I checked the log for this apk (with SystemTunerPro). There seems to be a problem with android.database.sqlite:
Code:
SQLiteException: Can't downgrade database from version 11 to 10
My solution: Download the official nightly cm-11-20131210-NIGHTLY-apexqtmo.zip; go to /system/app/; delete or rename DeskClock.apk; copy the same apk out of the zip into the folder; set the rights to 644 and reboot.
Worked for me - maybe for you too.
Does anyone have a standaole Cyanogenmod Messaging apk I can push to /system/app or install on another ROM? I looked in the latest nightly zip, and did not find an Mms.apk. I also flashed the ROM just to make sure it was there, and yes it was. I also looked inside the /system/app folder on my phone after it installed, and I did not see an Mms.apk. Where is it stored?
Found it!
It's located in system/priv-app. No idea when/why it moved there. Also, if you flash the Paranoid Android GAPPS package (first one with everything), it automatically removes the AOSP/CM Mms.apk included. Hope this helps! Going to write a small tutorial as to how to avoid this problem in the future.
I have a samsung galaxy note 2 (sgh-t889) I have de-odexed framework, and all system apks after a long learning process but i tested two of them and they worked on my phone! Pleased i would like to install the 151 apks and the framework files onto my phone but what is the easiest fastest way to do so?, i am still unfamiliar with adb but i know push pull, how can i delete system/app and replace it with my own app folder with all my de-odexed files?
I am having trouble installing app to /system/app. In Kitkat you could simply copy .apk to /system/app and change permissions to rw-r-r but in Lollipop there is a bunch of a subfolders and doing that doesn't work. Even if I put apk in the folder with the same name as apk. So does anyone know how to do this on Android L?
