Hey folks I've created a HTC Camera & Gallery flashable zip, based on the latest apk files available. I've tested it on my desire 816 running CM_13/14.1, must work on most of the devices. Try and tell me if it works on other devices or not.
Minimum requirements:-
*Android 6.0.1 or later
*Working recovery
Instructions:-
Boot into recovery
Take a nandroid backup
Flash the zip
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Update V2:-
*File size reduced
*Camera and Gallery apps updated
*Apps consume less ram than before(Zipaligned)
*Should work on other devices also(signature protection removed)
Bugs present:-
*Selfie panorama not working/may work
*Sometimes camera cannot captures enough light
*You tell me with logs

Mostly no bcz the apk I used requires android 6.0. The lib files are marshmallow compatible files nd they don't go well with lollipop, may cause FC/unstability

No I dnt have time to upload it now........will do it later on. As of now u can install this one, download the latest htc camera.apk from apkmirror and install it normally it will update but the one I use is a bit different nd little modified nd u will get the chance to use it afterwards when I'll update the zip

Why not edit it more and add more features .I like the edited version though.also the snap button is a bit to the left.is it supposed to be that way?And my stock one lineage one started working too I guess there was a problem with some lib files or something.anyways kudos man :good:

Editing and adding features will require editing a lot of smali files so itz better not to go that way. I just edited android manifest file for better compability no modification to smali files

Android 4.4.3, I meant viper Rom. Viper is probably irrelevant but I am also running the xposed framework.

It's Kitkat, 4.4.2 or higher.
You need to provide the permission files also and libs.... Otherwise it won't will be a good port!

This is my first trial to port something i dont have much experience with it. What do you mean with permission files? Normally it shouldnt depend on extra libs they intention was/is to make it run as a normal application. Any tips hints are welcome.

In short:
The APK that you are porting isn't standalone. Most APK's are using libs/framework/jar files. You all need to include this.
Also why are you doing it the hard way? Cyanogenmod is opensource so just download the phone package and compile it. You'll see all the files you need...

To Enable Alarm:
1. you can try going in sound setting, turn off and then on the link ringtone & notification vol. setting
2. go in the interruptions menu and turn off and then turn on the event & reminders setting

Click on Install and add rom then select the gapps then add ChainFire root with the latest version that's compatible with Android Lollipop 5.0.2 that you can download from attacched files.
Install the packages, reboot.
Wait a few seconds to update the apps.

Reboot into TWRP Recovery.

No , for me not , it is really smooth, no problem with sound like in RR , or wifi problems , like i said battery is awesome , it was 100% at 6:00, and now is 63% ( 14:34) and my wifi is on all the time + music, whatsapp and facebook ?? Good work keep it up ??

Yup Sagar I have black version...and I tried replacing cameracustom file even I replaced cameraservice and futureio.so file but still its not working...I also changed the permission of the file...any other suggestion??

Review/Bugs
I own a black variant so this is for black varint users only. I lost my baseband while flashing this rom. No imei. I had backup of nvram so restored it.
Wanna know frm Sagar Singh whether maui meta will fix this on cm too or not?
Bugs- offline charging shows battery icon but not charging. It shows red mark like battery is low but mine was 60% at that time.
Power bug is still there
Data connection takes too many attempts to turn on (occasionally)
Camera not focusing at all.
Rom is not laggy but response is a bit slow. Still good.
No sound and uc patch needed as it was wrking fine for me.
Default storage is internal. Want to change it to sd card (help needed here)
Rest wrking fine
Guyz rom is good and less buggy. Give it a try

The rom andoid version u are using
For eg I am using android 5.1 And download the ARM Platform.
Variant is up to you.
Stock= Famous and basic google apps
Full = Less than stock apps
Mini = The google apps u need in everyday life
I prefer Mini.

This is probably the best tool to extract .dat files. Otherwise there are manual ways to xtract them but can have problems. So this the best one so far! Btw whish rom are you porting?

UPDATE: MAKE SURE YOU GET A PROGRAM LIKE KERNEL TUNER TO TURN ON ALL 4 CPU CORES....lag lessens tremendously!!!!!
It will take some time to settle in....so expect some lag at first until you get it setup and running.
You can flash it fresh or dirty over your stock rom. I tested both methods.
Since our phone is lacking in physical RAM (512 only) I recommend setting up a swap partition of around 1-2GB on a partitioned SDCard; and then also setup an SD-EXT parition to help with the storage space shortage.
If anyone can fix the camera issue....PM me.
I tested this with Google Camera from the Play Store.
Special thanks to mtkroms.com for their talented devs putting together patches for stuff like this.
I am not going into detail on how to get this rom on your phone. There are plenty of threads for that. Mediatek is a joy to dev for....as this is my first project I am proud it went so smoothly.

You can manually patch it by getting any mt6582 generic.kl file and replacing with correct permissions

The BlissPop rom for my Tablet had a busted camera too. It was fixed with a camera app off the market. I'll test that and post results. Also I nearly have a Lollipop themed KitKat build ready will post in Studio 5 development when it's ready if anyone cares.

its a custom modified rom of cyanogenmod for the studio g which this rom runs is 5.1.1.
OP updated with fixed .zip so buttons should work now.
I also replaced the MMS app with the Cyanogen 5.1.1 version.
Enjoy.
PS: camera still fails.

still dosnent seem to work. I am trying once more. i could also be an idiot, and cant seem to get the buttons to work.

I'm not the developper of this rom, i'm not a developper at all, I've just tried this rom, found it amazing and wanted to share.

How to flash:
1- Download rom, gapps (& bootloader if you come from Kitkat) and copy it into your internal or external storage.
2- Go to recovery and wipe Dalvik/Data/System/Cache.
3- Flash ROM & wait until it boot up (just follow the steps until homescreen).
4- Reboot into recovery.
5- Flash Pico GAPPS
6- Reboot.
Enjoy!
Note: Don't forget to BACKUP before you flash this ROM in order to prevent from anything bad happens.
Bugs : Some social apps (Whatsapp, Viber) are encountring FC, or aren't showing notifications

Based on CM12.1.
For now, I didn't notice any bug, all the apps I use are working right.
And for the dualboot, I don't know, maybe you should make a backup, try it and give us some feedbacks.

Try to reflash the rom only, then reboot into recovery and flash gapps (wipe cache & dalvik)

Didn't try games, no overheathing when I watch vidéos, battery life seems to be good, here a screenshot. There's no app drawer in the default home launcher, you can install nova launcher, I didn't test the rom and xposed, and give some feedback

The only problem I faced with this ROM is only whatsapp keeps crashing. I don't know why. But whatsapp always crashed. Except WA problem, I think this ROM is quite good and fluid. But WA is a very important apps for me, so waiting for the fix.

Great ROM!
FC on settings if you flash ROM+Gapps together, if you install first ROM, reboot and then install Gapps (following one post in this thread ) it works great, currently restoring my apps.
One question: is it possible to have multiple users like standard android 5.1.1 ROMs?
