I'm experiencing a weird issue with my Pixel. Occasionally, I'll plug the phone into the OEM charger and it won't charge at all. Trying different outlets doesn't solve the issue but as soon as I reboot the phone and plug it in, it charges just fine. It's a strange issue I haven't encountered with any previous phone. Curious if others have experienced this?
Exact same issue here over the last few days.

In my case, I have a 2nd charger from SONEic that is an approved USB-C to USB-C that works flawlessly. However, like the OP said, my Google charger will ding like it's charging once connected, then stop charging 1 second later. It will repeat that endless dinging ever few seconds until I reboot it. Never happens with my SONEic charger. Once rebooted, the Google charger works fine. Very annoying.
I've tried unplugging everything, turning the cable around, etc., Only a reboot works.

I had this problem of start/stop/start charging with a reliable 1A charger and a usb A-to-C cable. A reboot would fix it. I ended up switching to another 2.4A charger (not QC) I had around with the same cable and have had no problems since. I still use the smaller charger on an old media phone.

The problem is, though, that we are experiencing this with the Google charger that came with the phone and NOT secondary chargers. Wonder if the charger is defective...?

Yeah, it's with the OEM charger. I am starting to think the charger is to blame. Unfortunately, I don't have a secondary fast charger to test with. However, I just updated my phone to the latest NDE63V build. I'll be monitoring closely over the next few days to see if the issue pops up with the OEM charger again or if the software update solves it.

I have the Google unlocked version. I unlocked my bootloader right after unboxing the phone, as I do with all my Nexus (now Pixel) devices.
This issue has gone away for me with yesterday's update.

Yeah, it's been a couple of days now since updating to NDE63V and haven't had any charging issues since. Crossing my fingers that it really was just a software issue. Time will tell.
Woke up to 35% this morning plugged into stock charger not charging. Plugged into an Anker Power Port 4 and viola' it charges. Found this thread, rebooted and stock charger works again. Verizon on build NDE63X. Don't know when the update came down.
Exactly the same ^^^
I had an issue where no charger could be reversed in my phone. The C cable would only charge it in one orientation. I RMAd the phone and got a new one. Now, I have this same issue where the phone will charge and stop a few times and then start charging with the OEM brick and cable. Works fine with the OEM brick and a different cable I got from Amazon. Even works fine with the OEM cable and my computer with a USB C port. I think it might be the OEM brick.
Just had this issue happen to me for the first time today. OEM charger, won't charge until I reboot the phone. When I use my samsung fast charging brick no issues.
Brand new pixel 128gb... Charged fine with the USB a-c charger but got this weird issue with the stock charger and cable ... Phone is only 2 days old... Seems software related... As stated... Reboot fixes it... I notice most people on Google issued pixels were fixed in last update... Maybe Verizon is behind on this
Verizon pixel build nde63x...
Mine has done this also. It was a problem on the Verizon build. I have since unlocked the bootloader and gone to the Google latest version and it still has the issue. I asked a friend if he had this issue and he said no but he had that issue on his Nexus phone.
I think the OEM charger is too loose. I've had that issue before (at work). Plug it in, it looks like it's charging, check it a few mins later and its not. If I push the cable in firmly it'll charge.
I have a Samsung USB C adapter that I've been using with one of my old chargers (at home) and I haven't had a single issue with it. I ordered 10 cheap USB C adapters off eBay. I'm hoping they work just as well. I have a bunch of Turbo chargers that I've accumulated from other phones so hopefully I can convert all of them and keep using them.... And still be able to charge older devices.

I had this issue tonight again... Even after reboot the phone wouldn't charge when powered on... Powered off it charges fine... Hopefully when I get home the USB a-c cord works to charge tonight

Are you using the same charger every time? Try using the USB cord that came with the phone and a different wall block.

Does anyone else have an issue with fast charging? I am using the original cable/charger that came in the box and I have to unplug/replug it in anywhere from 2-6 times for it to register as fast charging, sometimes more. I have also tried using the charger that came with my Note 4, same issue. Tried using a different wall outlet, same issue. I noticed a thread on Android Central references this same issue but as that is not purely T-Mobile brands, it's hard to gauge where the issue comes from.
Anyone else experiencing this?
If the usb isn't fully plugged in to the adapter, it won't fast charge. I haven't had any issues fast charging with the included charger or the note 4 charger.

I'm currently running ForeverLoco's ROM but I was running stock (both BOH4/BOH6) before recently flashing FL's ROM and the issue still happened. I'm starting to think it was a bad batch of devices sent to T-Mobile from what I am reading on Android Central forums. Was hoping someone here would have a suggestion for a fix but I might just have to take in and replace it since I'm still within the 14 day window.
Get a new one bro. Take it back and plug it in the store. Test it.

I have this issue but far less common for it to annoy me. Usually when I plug in our check my notification to make sure fast charging is enabled. My s6
Charger doesn't fast charge at all (same model number and same everything). The original charger fast charges 95% of the time. Yesterday was only the 2nd time I had to reseating the charger after I noticed I was still on 17% after 15min. And didn't see the fast charge notification.
Could be for me what someone else said about not plugging in all the way as it happens once in a blue but idk. My s6 had the same problem if it even is a problem.

This normal. The note 5 does not fast charge while the screen is On specially if the phone is being used... Is a safety precaution which is already answered by Samsung. I also had this issued and I was worried..

This is a known issue with the update to 5ERA1. I had the exact same thing happen to mine. Phone will only do fast wireless. My charging port is emaculate. My wife just updated to 5ERA1 and her note 5 is glitching like crazy.
Wait, i have the same thing, but this is because of the cable or charger. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and now it happens a lot, so, when i connect my phone and its not fast charging, i just unplug the cable, wiggle it a bit and connect back. It doesnt work all the time so i might repeat this 2-3 time and in the end its fast charging. When i tried another good cable, it was fast charging all the time so before buying a new phone. try another good cable hope thats your problem
Hy guys, as you can read my phone suddenly started not to charge. One day i was chatting on whatsapp and suddenly the phone turned off with 5% of battery remaining. Since that moment the phone is not charging. I change the battery and the usb port board but it is still not charging. It recognises that the usb cable is plugged in but it doesn't charge... i tried to charge it while in bootloader, recovery or with the phone turned off.. Nothing worked. I don't want to factory reset it since i have 11% of battery holding at that level thanks to the charger. DO you guys have any ideas? thanks....

Try using stock charger and stock usb cable. I also had the issue stock usb cable fixed it.
I am using the stock charger but my stock cable is destroyed. I have another cable that is really good, I have always used it and I tryed also different cables but still not charging... It just can't stop charging from one moment to another because of the cable, that cable is perfectly fine. Thanks anyway Any other suggestion?

I know how these things works and I have already tried different chargers and cable and stock ones as well and it is not a problem of charger or cable. Any other useful suggestion?
Make sure that when you replaced the battery, all the cables were clipped back in right.

Yes thanks but I already checked. That's not the problem.
For the last three months my G920F automatically connects and disconnects from the charger when it is connected to the wired charger. It happens quite oftenly when the battery is charging from 0 to 20 percent and when there are more apps opened i.e. the phone is drawing more current. This connection problem slows down after 20% though. I haven't noticed this on wireless charging. I ve bought a new cable and charger and the problem still persists. The phone will automatically disconnect and connect in a fraction of a second without moving any cable or phone.
So is it a damaged usb port or is it some kind problem with the charging IC? I am using orignal fast charger and cable and i have tried dozen other cables and chargers. Knox is tripped though.

Sounds like it could be the charging port if you have tried different chargers and cables, apart from that you can try flashing a new rom, just remember to back up.

Already tried that. Right now i am on stock marshmallow with space x kernel.
have the same issue since ~3 months. Its happening fitfully and i think about sending it into repair.
I was also using different chargers and cables but the issue still exists. So far the only work around is using wireless charging. I'm on Stock 6.0.1 btw

Since my pixel finished it's automatic update today, I can't charge my phone anymore when the phone is on, weird thing is, it is actually draining the battery when type-c cable plugged in. The only way that I can get the phone to charge is to turn off the pixel completely and insert the charging cable again.
Anyone has similar problem?

Have you tried a different charger, different cable, flipping over the usb-c connector? I realize that none of these things should matter but you've gotta troubleshoot. Also, I've heard of people not actually pushing the cable all the way into the phone and not realizing it.
I had this happen once yesterday. Had to restart, then it started to charge. Used my 6p charger as well as stock -- neither worked until restarted.

Not pushing the cable in all the way happened to me once. The edge of my case held it out a bit and I didn't realize it. I just have to pay a bit more attention when plugging in
Last night I upgraded to the latest firmware via ota AQF7 . Everything went smooth BUT ONE THING WHICH I NOTICE THAT THE FAST CHARHING IS NOT WORKING NOW IT ALWAYS SHOWS CABLE CHARGING AND CHARGING TIME IS ALSO 4 TO 5 HOURS. I am using the same charging and same cable which I have been using before. Can someone please confirm me is there any new security patch in the update which enables us now not to use cables except the original cables which came in the box?

1st of all: YOU DON'T HAVE TO SHOUT...!
No problems at all with Fast Charging (Wireless & Adapter -> all original)
Who's your carrier? I'm on AT&T, and my fast charging still works fine with AQF7, using the original charger and cable (I haven't tried with any other accessories).
Fast charging still working with original charger and fast charges wirelessly as well (latest update on VZW)
Mine still works fine, using Samsung oem block cord and wireless pad
After update my phone won't charge shows it charging but keeps draining while plugged in. I'm with T-Mobile. This sucks. Hope they fix this soon.

Had the same issue yesterday. Switched to another cable and no more slow charge warning. Cable was nylon braided and gently used for under 30 days. Cheers
Factory reset did not fix my wireless charging. This will be my last samsung after all these problems with note5, note 7 and now S8+.
It's just that the cable is not fully in the charger. Push it back, it'll be fine

Same happened to me and i was using the S7 Edge fast Charger before the update, i have to buy the original S8+ Fast Charger and now everythings works smoothly.
Well , i had same issue with my S8 plus after updating the latest version and fast charging was gone , So i have plug in my original charger ans cable from Samsung and no fast charging.
So i have noticed my notification area that said charging but no fats charging, so i pressed that notification which let the battery screen pop up and something happen the battery went from 77% in one second to 83%
And the fast charging was started to show up.
Try is solved my problem.
