The phone model: SM-G930W8
Software Build: G930W8VLU2API1
This is my father's phone and he went overseas to travel. During his travel he wanted to unlock his phone so he went to some shady area and they apparently rooted his phone but messed up somewhere. They told him to reinstall the firmware and it will be good. Unfortunately that isn't the solution and I have no clue what is the problem.
The mobile networks always has the cross symbol and no option for it exists in the settings. The IMEI and Baseband number here was unkown. I then got the latest firmware from sammobile with the same network as the phone, Koodo 6.0.1 and installed that. The problem still existed so I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-check-drk-imei-issues-t3379516 and have been successfully executing all the steps except for flashing the binary firmware which seemed like it would solve the problem. It has however, removed the no network symbol. The IMEI is now all zeros. I have the original IMEI number, just trying to find a way to put it back in.
I noticed that the factory binary filename is a little different compared to the firmware version the phone has. The one that the factory binary is referring to G930W8VLU1APG1 and the one on the phone is G930W8VLU2API1. Then I thought maybe if I downgrade the firmware to the one that is the same one as the factory binary one, it would then work. I went to sammobile and downloaded that too, but the same problem occurs, an error in Odin thats preventing me from doing this. Not sure how to proceed from here.
The problem that showed up on Odin was:

Hi,
I got a G900P Sprint S5 With the latest firmware from it.
The problem with this is that i live in Europe where the 4G bands are different, I managed to get around it by changing the NV items..
The problem is that the phone connects to 4G but data rarely works.
The thing that i did to get it to work was installing the g900f firmware but now i can't do it because ODIN says

You cannot downgrade and you're probably going to fry the phone eventually flashing firmware that was not designed for it. I see your multiple posts and I already responded in one other thread.
So, I know there are ways to flash different firmware on to each Galaxy S7, Metro and T-Mobile are pretty much the most similar of each version. What I'm trying to do is make it so my G S7 is stock T-Mobile so that I can update it to the Nougat Beta. I'm sort of impatient lol. Here's the errors I'm getting:
This one is in Odin and I'm using the modified version that I used originally to root my S7 which BTW is back to stock unrooted.

My phone shows this in RED:
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 4 > Binary 1
[1]eMMC write fail: aboot
I'm not sure what the problem is, I have my drivers installed, I have debugging checked and I'm using an HTC usb cord only because they are better with data transfers than the stock Samsung cord in my experience. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Help? :fingers-crossed:

I downloaded the zip file from sammobile and used the newest version of Odin and it worked! Thank you so much for your help sir! :good:
Hello all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, from Rogers but unlocked, version SM-G930W8 that I bought second hand.
Phone was rooted, I factory reset it to prepare it for my wife, then installed apps and moved data and everything.
Turned the phone off and put it aside, the next day I bought a new Nano SIM, turned it ON and I got "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock".
I downloaded G930W8VLU1APG1_G930W8OYA1APG1_XAC tried flashing via ODIN and got this:
<ID:0/004> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..

On the phone I had: Custom Binary(Recovery) Blocked by FRP Lock
Also I have tried multiple computers, multiple cables, multiple versions of ODIN, ...
Now the phone is stuck at the Samsung screen and won’t turn on or off, until the battery dies.
Tried Smart Switch but it asks for the serial number, which I do not have. (There is just IMEI on the back of the phone)
Not sure but I think somehow after the factory reset the OEM Unlock got disabled.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Did you ever figure this out? I'm facing the same thing and hoping my phone isn't bricked.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/potentially-bricked-s7-flat-custom-t3583502
This will fix and let you flash.
1) Open Odin, place all the necessary files into their slots.
2) Go the the options tab, make sure "Auto Reboot" IS ticked.
3) Press "start", but as soon as you do, hold down Vol down+Home+Power on your phone.
Odin will fail and your phone will reboot into download mode again.
Now press "Start" in Odin again, and your phone should flash without a problem.
This might take a few attempts to get right, but I hope it helps.
Hey!
I decided to install the Resurrection Remix rom on my Samsung J7 2016 (SM-J710FN). But after i flashed it I noticed my IMEI and baseband had disappeared. My phone doesn't recognize my SIM card and my cellular data no longer works. I didn't have a efs backup too. I might have wiped the system partition in my twrp recovery.
If you could help me I would really appreciate it.

find the version of official firmware you had on it last, if you try to flash the boot with an older version of the firmware it will fail. Here is a link to the latest firmware for the 710fn from India https://drive.google.com/open?id=1f_C8REO2ZRwiqBegUGEnUer9DcWy9adR
if i try it this way i get an "PIT" error on my phone in ODIN MODE
Never mind. I took the phone to a Samsung shop and they fixed it.
i have the same problem and I can't find the right FW.
all i know is, that I previously had the last available OTA installed.
when trying to flash the FW given above, i get the error: secure check failed (pit)
I have the same problem now. I've tried many available firmware versions and none of them work. Is there anything I can do to make the phone usable again?
UPDATE: Thanks to a helpful video I was able to get back into the phone. It required for you to have a locked SIM card and just following all the steps in the video
Here is the video if anyone is having similar issues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1p-affHYB8s&t=189s
Very new to this but my brother gave me a Samsung galaxy J7 model sm-j737a. I do not have the google account associated with it, neither does he, and so I tried using odin to flash the stock firmware in it but I keep getting a fail in writing. I am not sure if its the firmware that I am using that is wrong or what (Full Firmware J737AUCU1ARE6_J737AATT1ARE6_8.0.0 BY Windows4Droid). Does anyone have the official stock firmware for the SM-J737A? Is there another way to go about this? Below I listed what it says when I try to install it in Odin3 13.1. Any help for this noob would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is the firmware your trying to flash the correct bootloader? ( the 5th number from the right of the firmware name... E.G. .....2AUSR1 the (2) would be the bootloader version. They usually need to match accordingly or be higher than the one on the phone already.
Anyone know how to bypass same phone on pie?
