Help!!! Severe Battery Drain after update to Marshmallow Lenovo Z90A40 - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys! i have a Lenovo Vibe Shot Z90A40 bought a week or so ago which i updated to Marshmallow 6.0.1.
but that update didn't satisfy me and have some bugs with major issue of Battery drain even on Standby
i've tried Reboot, cache clear, Turning off wifi scanning etc Even Factory Reset, but the problem still persist.
i want to Downgrade my phone to factory firmware Lollipop 5.0
So, i want a little help
which Stock Rom from the following two should i use
"Z90a40_USR_S218_150908_ROW_sdcard.7z"
"Z90a40_S209_150716_ROW_sdcard.7z"
and how to install it? I didn't find any instructions from where i downloaded them.
P.S. If any one have the better ROM then please give me the download link.
Thanks.

A factory reset after OTA should settle any weird batt drain. Just give it some time to settle down.

Did a factory reset. Gave it two days but all vain. still draining at 2% per 1 hour when standby at night.

Hi.
The same for me, but I improved battery rooting phone and installing Kernel Adiutor from Google play. Then choose in CPU powersave Governors. This steps stopped battery drain to a half in official S363 Rom..... but could be better. Maybe someone has other ROM or Kernel patched with some fixes?

I've used already that USR_S218 firmware.
1. Extract it
2. Rename it to sdfusez
3. Copy it to phone store top folder
4. Rename it back to sdfuse
5. Confirm everything is there as in the archive
6. Switch off phone
7. Power on while holding vol-down
8. It should boot to recovery mode (not update mode), choose SD update.
9. After flash , I upgrade to official s226 (through OTA) i confirm good battery life.
Now, I just upgraded to s240 (through OTA), i didn't test yet.

Draining 2% at 1 hour is normal because network also uses battery.

[Q] Restart loop(not bootloop) - really weird

Hey lads,
I got a really weird problem and I've tried nearly everything I can think of. I had EMUI 2.3(b121sp06) and I tried the online OTA update to b307 if I remember right(was automatically suggesting the update) and at the update screen it loaded to about 99% and then stopped. Said not to press power while on this screen but obviously it wasn't going to finish. So I reset the phone and it started the "recovery loop", so basically keep trying to apply the update. I had to flash CWM to break out and flashed the whole system by hand(recovery, system, boot, cache, cust and userdata img files) and it starts up but it keeps resetting and seemingly it's random. Android boots up, I don't touch the phone--> boom reset. Weird thing is it even does it in recovery.
If I really want to explain the problem it's like as if my finger got stuck on the power button(that naturally made me think that the button might be f*cked), but booting into fastboot and not having resets cleared my suspicion. What I also noticed is that every time it boots up it doesn't recognize the sim card and I have no signal or whatsoever.
Tried multi tool unbricking method -> doesn't work
Tried factory reset from stock recovery(had to be fast so it doesn't reset before) ->doesn't work
Tried wiping dalvik cache and factory reset from CWM ->doesn't work
Tried killing battery by letting it keep resetting -> battery drained, reset loop stopped ->put the phone on charger->reset loop started again
I have no f*cking clue how can I get out of this, will keep trying though. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Hi
Did you try to remove the Sd Card ? Honor 6 reboot is often due to faulty SD Card.
Which model do you have ? L04 ?
B307 upgrade sure ?
Seb
Yes, that was my first idea, still does it though. I have the L02 and I'm not positive it was b307, but it started with 3, could be b303 if there is one.
I don't know for L02 but for L04 there is a Full ROM that you can flash with the three buttons method. (Vol+,Vol-, power and put the ROM in /dload folder on the SD card).
Maybe there is such thing for L02 ?
There is, but as I said the phone restarts even in recovery. It's like the phone restarts every 30 secs except for fastboot.
if it's not SD card or internal flash problem so, it seems to be hardware related to me (
Would make sense but it occurred only after I tried OTA. Would be really surprised if that killed that hardware :-/

Unfortunately not, I'm out of ideas, trying to negotiate with the seller to sort something out, I think the phone is beyond saving
Same thing happened with me. Don't have any solution. Have you fixed it?

Its might be a battery problem Or power flex cable. Try to turn on the phone during charge
guys im facing the same problem now... waiting for any solutions
I have tried stop & uninstall some app
I've tried as quickly as I can when the phone (nokia x) is on, then I stop> uninstall I consider potentially cause this problem (facebook, whatsapp, uc browser) and then it managed to prevent the continuous restarts. but problems arise even though the application had me uninstall and then I restart the phone. and it is back again, I uninstalled the app that has remained with the error settings and restart repeatedly. who knows what else : '(

In the past my battery lost it's endurance pretty much. Furthermore I've read that a defective battery causes lots of weird behaviours on our Honor 6, which was the same to mine.
In my case a replacement of the battery worked well, to get my Honor 6 back to life:

It's not that difficult and lasts approx. 30-45 mins. Spare Batteries are available for 6 - 10 bucks on ebay or directly from the chinese internet stores.

It's really important that we use original chargers for the health of our device.

how to stop battery draining even when the phone is on airplane mode?

I charged my Nexus 5 to 100% just before I went to bed, turned off radios, WiFi, location and data, I just woke up and the battery went down to 64% this is unacceptable, and this is only happening after I flashed android 5.1 Factory Images, never happened when I was on 5.0.1
Could this be because when flashing the FI, when I hit flash-all command only flashed boot loader and radios and then it gave me an error so I hit flash-all command again and same thing happened, after flashing the boot loader and radio gave the error, this happened 3 times after I restart my laptop, hit the flash-all command and it flashed the whole thing, after this I did a restore using adb
Any ideas if any of these can be the reason of the battery draining? Should I go back to 5.0.1 ? Can a reset fix this issue?

Good luck
Enabling airplane mode does not mean you won't lose any juice. But the fall -36% during the night is not normal.
Anyways, it seems that we won't see you soon
Which wakelocks do you have on gsam battery monitor or bbs?

My phone crashes and doesn't boot without energy source

Hey guys !
I've a problem with my Nexus 5.
Since 1 month, it crashes totally randomly once a day : there is not a specific app or behavior or hour that makes it crash. The problem is I can't reboot my phone until I link it to an energy source (like an outlet, or an external battery) : it keeps crashing during the boot. After booting, the battery isn't even empty, so it's not totally a battery problem.
I tried changing my ROM to a stock ROM, I tried Kitkat, 5.0, 5.1, and it keeps crashing. I tried factory mode, reset too.
Any idea ? I already made a warranty post at Google, but I'm not ready to send my Nexus 5.
Thanks guys

Battery went crazy

So, all was working fine till I flashed CM13 on my N8000 for the third or fourth time. When I booted my battery just drained from 70% to 0 at the drop of a hat. I left it charging for 20 minutes so I could turn it on and finish setting it up again and when I did so, it was on 1% and it suddenly dropped to 0 and went off again. I booted into TWRP and again showing that the battery was at 1% and suddenly battery stats disappear on TWRP (probably meaning it was on 0). So I tried reinstalling CM13 but it didn`t work. It optimized all the 49 apps (from OpenGAPPs) and when it got to the home screen, boom, 1->0 and then dies. I`ve searched the internet for this issue and couldn`t find anything. I tried reseting my battery stats but I couldn`t do it either. Some random dude said it was located in data/system/batterystats.bin or something and when I get to these folders they`re empty already. That`s it. I hope anyone can help me because I`m like super screwed. Thanks!
Don't mess with battery stats bin.
In recovery. Format. Data system cache.
Boot to download flash stock rom via Odin .

Note 3 Neo (SM-N750) keeps getting bootloop after a few days!?

Hi,
Since lollipop was not available in India, I installed the russian 5.1.1 rom in feb 2016. Everything was smooth and I had no problems with it. Immediately after flashing the rom, I rooted it and put twrp recovery. I also uninstalled all the bloatware using ES file manager. I didn't have any problems with this russian (the rom's title ends in SER) rom till August.
In August, the phone started losing battery rapidly, the smaller (1300mhz) CPU would not goto deep sleep for some reasons. The phone would be shown as awake constantly in the battery graph on few days. I couldn't find any culprit from the battery graph, even wake detector apps didn't find the reason.
I knew the problem must be rom related, so I downloaded the Indian version of 5.1.1 and installed it. I again put twrp and rooted it, removed bloatware using ES file manager. No battery problems anymore, the phone would goto deep sleep always, as expected. BUT, as soon as I finished doing some root level activity, the next reboot (done manually, it would never crash on its own) would result in bootloop.
The bootloop goes like this, First the "samsung note 3 neo" logo appears (as expected), then the Samsung logo flashes BUT the samsung jingle doesn't start with this animation, the logo keeps flashing for around 5-8 seconds, THEN the samsung jingle starts, which only plays halfway when it reboots, this loop keeps repeating unless I pull out the battery!
I can/could always solve this bootloop by restoring my previous twrp DATA backup. Occasionally I would restore the system as well, but a basic twrp data restore is enough to end the bootloop problem temporarily.
I uninstalled the Indian rom and put the russian rom again 2 weeks back. For the battery problem, I installed "kernel aduitor" app and put the smaller cpu on powersave profile. This solved the battery problem.
Yesterday, after killing tasks in "ES task manager" (I don't remember doing anything else specifically root related), I restarted it manually and again got the bootloop! Earlier I never got bootloop with the russian version, this was the first time.
What could be the CAUSE of bootloop? I'm tired of twrp data restores repeatedly, I need a cause and/or solution badly!
I suspect it to be a hardware problem. I do wish to downgrade it to 4.4 stock rom to see if the bootloop is lollipop rom related or not, but I couldn't find decent stock 4.4 rom sources. Also there's the risk of losing EFS/IMEI while downgrading.
Hello
We are same problem. Have you resolved it already? I hope We can fix it.
