Storage problem on xperia L - Sony Xperia L

Hello Everybody . I searched the forum for the Xperia L storage problem but didn't find any solution . As you know , Xperia L partitioned internal storage as 2 part , /DATA & /SDCARD . my problem is that any new apps I install , is on the /DATA partition & this part is totally 1.5GB that isn't enough for me . I Tried to move apps to sdcard ( both normal way & with adoptable storage ) but few apps support it . I tried Link2SD & App2SD All In One but with those , many of my apps crash or don't open up . so , what to do now ?? Is there another way to move apps out of /DATA ?? or install apps on internal sotrage ( /SDCARD ) by default ?? I searched for how to combine this 2 part but didn't find anything ! I Have cm13 , TWRP recovery and Bootloader unlocked .
thanks !

hey , I found A2SD XDATA & INT2EXT4+ methods on web .
do this methods works on android MM ( actually cm13 ) ??

Bro, that's how Xperia L is. Use it like that. With few apps. If you don't like it then buy another device with more storage.
I broke my Xperia L trying to solve that issue. Now I've bought new device.

Another alternative to stretch the storage limit a bit more is the use of apk files (from trusted websites) instead of google play store.
It seems that google play needs lots of memory for the installation process, so that you run out of mem for the installation, not for long term storage.

I just learnt that you can customize the cm and gapps installation via the gapps-config file, thus saving memory ...

[Q] About ext Partition help!!!

Im realy new to this. I just rooted my phone.
Now from whath i understand thath you can install apps to the sd card if you Partition it,and you need a custom rom thath supports it (right??)
Now i saw on youtube thath you can Partition your sd card using rom manager.
my questtion is
1. is this a good way.cause i know there are other ways.
2.if i Partition trouth rom manager will i just be able to install a rom thath supports app2sd and thaths it.
3.if i do number 2 will i be able to install this rom and have app2sd(i really want it) ,,RCS MixHD v3.0,,
4.on the rom ,,RCS MixHD v3.0,, it says
,,,A2SD version - Fat + Ext3/4, 0.5-1.5GB recommended,, explain please
make partitions from recovery. it's the best idea for this operation. also you can install link2sd from market. it's ap2sd menager with GUI.
just a word of advice, backup up all your apps, (apks and data) and also your media files before partitioning (just in case)
mybackup or titanium backup are both good.

To make partition easier , try partition wizard , u can get it from download.cnet for free . Please note that this is for pc , not android phone . The reason why i would recommended you to use this is because you can resize your FAT partition and make a ext2 partition instead of format your FAT partition . Generally , you won't loss any data on your sdcard with this method . For moving app to sdcard , just use link2sd which is available at market as well as in this forum , just simply search for link2sd . This app is awesome as it lets you to choose app that you wish to move . I didn't change my rom and it works fine so far . Give it a try !

BUT this work ONLY with internal sdcard, not with ext card like the man said
i know that i am looking for a solution since 2 weeks and no way as i seen
Obviously one of the great reasons to root is to "trick" the phone into believing it has more internal mem/move apps to the sd card. I have am first time droid user and am running into limitation issues already. Question then:
is it necessary to partition sd card manually (I am not extremely tech savvy and seems very complex) or is it possible that installing a custom rom (i.e. megatron) partitions the sd card when installed.
Thanks for patience, I would really like to take advantage of this, but can't really find a straight-forward instruction/advise.

[APP] [Link2SD] Disadvantages of Linking Apps and Games

First of all, I would like to give a special thanks to Bulent Akpinar, the developer of Link2SD for providing us such a great app. I had been using this app for a long time in Moto E when I was still using the stock version 4.4.4. I had a great time with this app and I purchased its PLUS version too. Let me tell you about what I gained due to Link2SD :
It links everything of an app or a game to your SD card allowing you to install a large number of apps. Linking is quite different from moving as moving apps to SD is not going to move app data and moving apps to SD slows down apps from loading. Widgets do not break in case of a linked app. All apps, wallpapers works smoothly as if it is stored in the internal storage. But, these things are known to all of us.
Now the problem starts here ! I tried CM11, gummy and PA ROMs but Link2SD created a serious problem
I tried to install CM11 and PA themes but got the same error "App not installed". I tried a lot of themes but got the same error. It meant I can't install any of the available themes. I searched web and got to know that the problem is caused due to partitioning of SD card ! !
Due to partitioning, CWM and TWRP recovery failed to do their tasks.
Unable to install zips from external SD card ! (ERROR: Unable to open folder)
Unable to create backup in SD card ! (ERROR: Unable to open folder)
Unable to restore backup ! (ERROR: No such file found)
Unable to mount storage!
and much more errors were there !
"Install zips from internal storage" was the only option working as usual.
I searched web and there were no promising answers. Somewhere I found that it is due to Link2SD. I cleaned my SD card, deleted the secondary partition and then CWM worked ! ! Flashed CM11 and tried to install themes, it was successful
Guys, if anyone of you are facing these errors, then it might be possible that you have linked apps to your SD card. Link2SD is a great app if you are using stock ROM and you are not willing to try custom ROMs and its themes. But when you are with CM, then Linking is not a good choice
Hit thanks :good: , if helped

[MOD][SWAP internal SD with external SD][SM-G355HN]

First why:
When I got this phone I was disappointed with fact that primary storage isn't switchable and free user data space is approximately 2.2 GB. Which means that all application data goes to internal storage so it is impossible to use apps like Need for Speed, Navigation app, ShowBox and others. I believe you all find that annoying.
After I saw @Dhruvit Pokharna topic I started to poke a little bit over XDA and I noticed that this was done before ( back in 2012 ) and with various Samsung phones. So I decided to change and adapt script for our phone. Original script was created by @mattiadj from whom I still waiting for permission to change script and to publish it. But I'am going to do it anyway.
What the script do:
It swipe internal sd (/storage/sdcard0) with external micro sd (/storage/extSdCard) and viceversa.
"With this you can use default internal sd only for app storage and the external sd to store all apps resource and all others stuff"
required:
- root
- custom recovery
- kernel with init.d support
- BusyBox-v1.23.0-Stericson
- swap_intsd2extsdcard_SM-G355HN
How to and why:
Before installing swap if you moved some apps to sd move it back to phone to avoid conflict of course.
1. Root your phone first
2. Install custom recovery *(here or here)
3. Make a backup. Just in case of zombie attack *
4. Install kernel with init.d support *(here or here)
5. Install BusyBox-v1.23.0-Stericson.zip (flashable provided below )
6. Install swap_intsd2extsdcard_SM-G355HN.zip (flashable provided below)
7. Why * because you have choice
That's it. Your external sd is internal now and you can enjoy your big internal memory.
If you want to reverse it simply go to /system/etc/init.d delete 11extsd2internalsd and reboot your phone.

Tutotial is simple. Step by step.
I don't see reason why you can't use this if your Phone has same spec as mine .
Check with root explorer following :
/storage/sdcard0
/storage/extSdCard
/dev/block/vold/179:129
If this is it you're good to go..
And for your existing game data just copy it after at proper place
Here is whole script:
mount -o remount,rw /
mount -t vfat -o umask=0000 /dev/block/vold/179:129 /storage/sdcard0
sleep 30
mount -o bind /data/media /storage/extSdCard
chmod 777 /mnt/extSdCard
sleep 10
chown 1023:1023 /storage/extSdCard
chown 1000:1000 /storage/sdcard0

Install applications from play store goes to default internal memory without problem.
When you have downloaded apk from some other site only way for now is to copy it to /data/app than change permission and owner and install it from there. I still didn't figured it out why is that only way for download and backuped apks.
Regarding data app I think you mean what was asked in second post. If you used link2sd or some similar app after swaping just check are data and obb are stored under folder /Android in your external SD so that you could use your saved apps resources.

Hi!
File Commander shows the swap (a lot of memory as device memory) and a little amount (the internal, as sd card memory), but when I get into app administration it only shows the small amount of memory as the avaible for applications, I've tried downloading some apps after the process just to see if that amount was static but it keeps going down with every app, so I guess it isn't working, or only games and apps which use large amounts of memory are saved at the external storage?
Edit: I can't neither nstall apps directl from the storage, just from the play store.
Thanks! :good:

I see, just installed a game and it's working, thanks!
I found something, I don't know if it is a bug or me doing something wrong, any app that messes with the identity of the phone doesn't seems to work. I've tried with "Tablet Metrics" module with the xposed framework and Rom toolbox lite, also doesn't work changing the device id.
Thanks alot. I love this

Well, i already did it, ty Revert works very good
But i wanted to know what i can make wrong. I mean i did everything as it wrote in title. But maybe such fail was already corrected by some user.
And also free space was the same for card and phone memory. i mean if free memory on phone is 200mb, then on sd card its also 200mb.

If you looking in settings storage you will see that. It's the way it is because I couldn't swap whole data partition. I only swap extSdCard with legacy sdcard0 or internal memory. Swapping mmcblk0p22 with mmcblk1p1 wouldn't work because p22 is fst ext4 and p1 is vfat.

Xperia C2305- Gps not working after root

I have Sony Xperia C2305, I did root my phone recently to increase internal storage. So i did merge internal storage to device memory which was earlier 0.98GB has now become 1.98GB. Also i used link2sd app to create other partition of memory card (i.e to use it as make more space).
But after that i checked that google maps and navigation app which are system apps are missing from my phone also gps is searching my location continuously. And no other map application like here map or others are not working anymore.
Is it due to root ?? or something else??
what is that problem. And how it can be solved???
Please help me regarding this..
Thanks in advance !!
install calvic recovery and install karthik's rom pure lollipop your problem will be solved i was also facing the same problem but when i installed this rom 5.0.1 pure lollipop everything is now working fine if u have any doubts regarding this u can mail me on [email protected]

[Completed] How to reduce the size of SDcard0

I've just flashed my first rom (cm13 taoshan). Its working particularly fine, I use Xperia L C2104. I have 6gigs of storage after flashing and all. When opening the storage . It shows that i have only 1.57 for apps and rest is in sdcard0. I dont know what it is exactly. Can I reduce its size?? I found out after googling that its a part of the internal storage. Please instruct in detail. I am a beginner.
THANKS
Hi !
There is a way to resize this partitions , the sdcard0 which is the user`s space where you can put your apps and personal files and system partition where the operating system goes installed along with its system apps
But I don`t recommend as each device has a particular partition table and not all devices allows this change
You particular device should have 5.8 gb available but most probably you have other stuffs in you device and only 1.6 is available
So no , you can`t do anything , that`s the device limitation so you must leave with it
Her is a bad experience os someone who tried https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/help/hardbrick-brick-formating-internal-sd-t3461878
Cheers !
