View attachment 3922454
a window poped up yesterday, that says download, after pressing download this is happening, i think this is a VIRUS.
There is no Google play app in this phone.
When i click on store button, opera store opens.
I can't open setting.
I can access recovery mode
Tell me what to do?

You'll get lots of suggestions and recommendations I guess, but personally I like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.malwarebytes.antimalware&hl=en_GB
I would think that would tidy things up for you.

Sounds like it's some sort of overlay malware eg

[Q] Bought new phone - Google Play says "Your device already has this item installed"
I just got a new phone and went to Google Play web interface to install all my old software. None of it will install because Google claims "Your device already has this item installed". How do I install it without using the slow, tedious on-phone app?
I saw elsewhere that you're supposed to uninstall the app from your old phone first. That won't work because my old phone died unexpectedly. There are other help threads on this topic but Google Play has changed its web interface since then, so the information is outdated.

Bump. I used link2sd to link nearly all of my apps to my microsd card, and that night, my microsd card went defective and I lost everything. (I was going to set up Titanium Backup the next morning! Shoulda done it immediately.) I've replaced my microsd card, but I can't install Titanium or anything else, because the Play Store erroneously thinks it's already installed and the web interface won't let me uninstall anything. I don't have the Play Store app on my phone - it got lost along with everything else. Any help, please? Thx.

Under "choose a device," my phone is grayed out/not able to be selected, since Play Store thinks that it's already there. Also, I can't uninstall it from within the phone since the phone knows that the app is actually *not* there. (If I could just convince the web-interface Play Store that the app is no longer on my phone, then there'd be no problem, but Google doesn't seem to offer that option anymore.)

I've considered it, but I believe that doing so would wipe out all of my SMS messages... and since I don't have any sort of backup software on my phone anymore (and I can't seem to download it without the Play Store) I'm at a bit of a loss.

and you can't install apps via apk files? because if you can download apk of titanium backup to backup your sms.
When I upgraded my old Samsung S5 to Nougat 7.1.1 the phone had just the bare Android system and no Google apps. I couldn't install any apps through online Google Play because it thought they were already installed on the device. But I was able to get going again my permitting "download from unknown sources" in security and downloading the apkpure app, which allowed me to download some non-Google apps where the online Google Play Store would not permit it (because it thought the apps were already on the phone). At one point I was invited to purchase some Bitcoin, which I managed to resist.
The way to get all the Google apps is to download and install the correct gapps package for your phone and Android version (which contains all the required Google apps). The way to install this package is to download it to internal storage or the SD card via the browser. You will need to find the gapps package again so make a note of its name when downloading it.
Then download the Quick Reboot app through apkpure and open it. Choose "recovery" and "install". Navigate to the downloaded gapps package and finally "swipe to confirm flash". The installation takes a while so it is a good idea to switch off any screen timeout temporarily.

[Q] Is my phone infected?

Hi
I recently downloaded dSploit from their website, but after I found it on Play Store too, I just downloaded that one instead.
I saw that my date was 1-1-2015, so I thought that it was a malware. I deleted it and then tried open Play Store, but was not able too. After waiting for Play Store (as I just thought I had slow internet) two messages popped up. One that said something with an program trying to connect to Play Store and another saying Google Maps could not work/open or something like that.
I fast turned off the phone and opened it again. After that my date was normal and I could open Play Store. I downloaded 360 security and ran a scan and it said my phone was clear.
But just to be sure, is it possible for malware to hide on Android, just like on an PC? Also, is their any way I can check if it's still there, as I dislike an malware being able to spy.
Thanks in advance
No there is no maleware in your device(uptil I know). And the reason why your play store was working is because of the date and time. Play store does'nt works if the user does'nt enters the date and time correctly.
Please press the thanks button if you think I helped

Well kind of, but you still get a thanks.
The thing was, that the program I downloaded from Play Store changed my date and didn't allow me to surf the web without getting redirected and so on.
So what I was curious about, was that after deletion of the program, am I still infected or can malware hide on Android, just like on windows? Or when then app itself is deleted, so is the malware?
Thanks in advance
Well I think there is no maleware but I still prefer you to run an anti-virus check so all of your doubts are removed

Brand new phones not registering with play services

Hi folks,
Two of my friends are facing a precise issue. They got new oneplus one phones in India and they are not able to download any applications air updates from play store. It fails with connection failed error. Even a factory reset did not work and they requested for a replacement phone and the replacement phone too has same issue. Another friend is facing similar issue on his brand new Moto G 2014 and Asus zenfone . This does look more like a generic issue happening with phones across brands. Any pointers please?
Regards.

Usually there should be an error number associated with the Play Store error. Since you've mentioned "Connection Error", I did a search for "google play connection error", and found loads for stuffs online. The first hit being this page on XDA with the following solution:
**ROOT IS REQUIRED!**
Here is a short fix for the No Connection Error on play store. It may not work on all devices.
1. Download Total Commander from Play Store or HERE .
2. Install it in your Device.
3. Open Total Commander and goto Root of System. (/ )
4. Open the etc folder.
5. Find the file named "hosts", and hold it for 3 seconds. Choose edit file, and choose Total Commander Text Editor if prompted.
6. Delete everything and paste this at the first line: " 127.0.0.1 localhost". Copy it exactly, dont modify anything.
7. Save the file and overwrite if needed.

You can try it, or you can search for a better way to fix the issue.

Play app tried downloading updates/new apps and after 10-15 minutes, gives error 495. Tried everything, including hard reset. play store is accessible, apps can be listed but installing apps or updates is where it fails now.

Try to clear cache and Data of google play store and google services framework. Then remove all google accounts, restart phone and then add one account and check.

Tried every single solution. No use. Even did a hard reset, created a gmail account while registering the phone and that too was of no use. Should be related to play store and network I guess as after connecting the phone to my home Wi-Fi, other phones on the same network started facing the same issue.

CyanogenMod 12.1 Unofficial

OK so a couple days into Cyanogenmod 12.1 unofficial...loaded a bunch of apps, processor and graphics intensive games.... This OS is awesome! But...time will tell really... After a few weeks, months, lets see how it performs...I have high hopes based on what I've experienced so far...
I'm running this on my SG Tab 3 10.1 P5210
A few things I should mention:
1. I had a big learning experience (major noob here) with TWRP recovery. For some reason Odin wouldn't allow me to unchecked 'auto reboot' as it was grayed out. So I modified the .ini file and changed the auto boot parameter from 1 to 0. Then I had to learn... First reboot after Odining TWRP.....HOLD HOME BUTTON+VOLUME UP+POWER..ONCE YOU SEE SAMSUNG LOGO RELEASE POWER STILL HOLDING HOME+VOLUME UP! Reason is, if you continue to hold power button, it's like disconnecting the battery, and reboots tab! UGH...after first successful boot into TWRP Recovery, is all good... To boot into recovery just boot holding power+VOLUME up like normal recovery... TWRP now loads so the time line of cake...
2. The Google Openapps zip did not install with Odin.. I .had to search around, I found frankin GAopen apps for 4.4 and installed via odin....took several play store updates until all Google apps settled down. There's prolly a better way to get the Google stock apps (play store, gmail, etc) that come with Android to install better but...I got them working so I won't complain...
3. When I change the wall paper, the image went whacky. Had to install a 2nd theme, switch themes, then switch back to straighten wallpaper iimage out
4. Keyboard was funky...I think this was from the frankinapps that I installed. Fixed by installing Google keyboard and disabling all others
5. When I install apps, I move them to my MicroSD card if possible. Any app with a widget (Weather Channel, Android Central, Calendar app, any widget app) that I move to the SD card doesn't work anymore. In fact I don't even see the app in the widget drawer. If I install say Android Central and place widget on any screen then move it to SD card it stops working. Fix is, move it back to internal storage.
6. Battery seems to drain quicker however Android 5.1.1 lollipop handles this well because once I get down to about 20% it drains much slower. Faster drain is prolly due to the fact that I'm actually using this tab much more than ever so, this may be a non-issue
7. Not sure if this is lollipop or Cyanogrnmod but, Lollipop (which is what Cyanogenmod is built on) has some really great features such as - auto adjust screen brightness and hue based on time of day.... This is very cool because it's 9:30pm EST and very dim in the room I'm in right now so the screen auto dimmed and adjusted the hue nicely... This is a big plus because it's very easy on the eyes and most importantly it save battery
Overall... Again... 2 thumbs up!!!!
I have also just installed CM12.1 on my SG GT-P5210, and found that for some unknown reason I could not download apps from Google Play store . They would not download to my tablet even tho' play store said it was installed, and I cannot find the apps on my tablet which I wanted. Anyone else have this problem.
Apart from that I like the OS and want to keep it.

So, you don't even have Google play store app right? You need to boot back into TWRP recovery and install the Google stock apps again... You might want to clear cache, delvik and all that...When you do install gaopen, watch carefully because you may experience the same thing as I did... Failure to install thus I found and used the frankin Google apps....

No I didn't have the Google play store app, and I only installed the CM12.1 file which only gives a few basic apps. I did try the open-gapps file, as far as I could tell maps and play store were installed, (maybe to the browser), but there were problems with both the play store and the maps apps. Neither of them would work, and the maps app error message said to uninstall maps then reinstall, but I couldn't find where I could uninstall , only to disable the app.
I also downloaded the play store app to my tablet, but again it would not work, as it just closed down as soon as I opened it up.
It's weired that the play store and maps work from the browser, but not from the actual tablet.

An update here: After installing open-gapps-arm-5.1-mini-20160203,zip, the problem is down to google services not responing or working. This happens when I try to open the play store, gmail and anything else related to google and I get a message saying that Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped. There seems to be some problem related to the 'checking info' screen which never completes.
Hang on ...arm? I thought these tabs have Intel chips? Did you install the wrong open gaapps? Or did I ?

play store when screen is off

I have a problem with play store . When i start a download and screen goes off , the store doesn't finish the installation of the app until i turn on the screen. It go worse when i update or download a list of apps as i have to make sure screen is on all the time.
I checked the settings of wifi and battery optimisation and nothing looks wrong ( the play store app itself isn't in the list of protected and unprotected battery optimisation apps)
I did factory reset and nothing changed
Thx in advance

Had this problem since Gingerbread. You need to make sure Play Store isn't killed after screen off.

In fact there is protected apps that supposed to be apps not being hibernated when screen is off, sadly play store is not shown in the list

Go to settings- APPs- setting-Speacial access- ignore optimzation-select all apps from drop down-google play store and click allow.
let me know if this works.

And one more thing, I think that there is no problem installing apps through 1. mobile data 2. wifi when I am charging the phone
this needs more checking as the downlading time differs according to the size of apps

Sorry for being late but I wasn't able to test yesterday
Unfortunately that didn't help, after some time the play store app goes to sleep and I am unable to change that.
I wonder if this is a bug in software version or my phone is defected :crying:. If anyone still on marshmallow and can have a look for me will be great.
