INSTRUCTIONS
First time installing CyanogenMod 12.1 to your Redmi Note 3 or coming from another ROM:
Make sure you have unlocked your bootloader
Flash a custom recovery via SP Flashtool (any other installing methods will do, just make sure you have TWRP recovery installed)
Push GApps (arm64) and the CM 12.1 zip to your device
Boot into Recovery
Do all wipes (dalvik cache, cache, system, data)
Flash the CM 12.1 zip from SD card
Flash GApps for Lollipop from SD card
Reboot (be patient, "optimizing apps" takes a while)
Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!
DON`T WORKS:
4G works only on SIM1, for SIM2 is available only 2G

Did you clean flash? I have used this rom for nearly 3 week with my smartwatch and bluetooth ear. No problem at all

It is difficult to say because the battery coverage depends on many factors such as the level of acceptance of mobile network, a set of applications installed on the phone, etc. And what about the firmware, they are almost identical because they are builded on the same device tree have the same fixes on power consumption. Only through personal experience can understand what is best for you.

only newer ones have the goodix sensor. when did you buy it?
also, the miui factory debug/test menu *#*#4636#*#* or smth like that, should list the sensor type
edit: either you had some other rom and you didnt do full wipes or you have the goodix one... i upgraded mine without wipes from simosh's prev version and it works.... does the sensor work for you in other custom roms? or ported miuis?

I always use 5.1 prebuilt camera hal from stock, no source.
But I still keep dlmalloc now, I'll try jemalloc later, thanks a lot

Update from CM12
Can I update directly from CM12 using the CM updates on "about the phone", or do I have to make all the process to update the baseband?
I think there's an issue with WiFi battery consumption.
Mine has used 25% of my battery today. The Wifi has been left turned on but it hasn't been connected to any networks. Perhaps there is a bug searching for networks? Not sure.

Big update! I've managed to make another build (link in the main post) and this time Ive compiled CM13 which isnt booting but after flashing it, it wont hardbrick your device. You can see bootlogo but after flashing this it will reboot and boot into TWRP. I will look at logs and see what is it caused by. Anyway it's big progress. I hope you are still excited about CM13!

I can't guarantee that someone will make CM13 for Redmi Note 3. You should keep an eye on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 [MediaTek] ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development. There's stable CM12.1 though..

I dont think anyone here has tried it yet; but it has the same SoC, so it could be compatible... Try it and let us know what happens... I need a new charge port on mine or Id try it right now (kinda never thought of it until just now)

I think, it's fixed, because there is "Charge Controller" in "WHAT WORKS"
It takes 4 hours to charge from 40% to 100% :'(

Using this for a few days now. Overall smooth, but Instagram gets laggy AF. My charging is normal, but my battery life is awful, barely 3h SOT. Not sure why, on CM13 I was getting 4-5h SoT. Hope the development gets continued.

Installation
Backup your files on PC and backup your apps using Titanium Backup
Push ROM.zip to the root of your SD card/memory
Check your bootloader status
Boot in TWRP
Wipe Cache, Davlick, System, Data
ATTENTION! Go to Advanced->File Manager. In File Manager go to sdcard and delete Android folder and MIUI folder if you have one. Then rebot in recovery again.
Flash ROM.zip from your memory without anything else
Reboot to ROM. First reboot may takes 8-10 minutes. Pass the start settings.
Then, reboot in recovery n install GAPPS, root, xposed, etc.
Restore your apps using Titanium Backup
IMPORTANT THING! Mobile internet cant't work woth two SIMs. It is Redmi Note 2 Flyme's bug. Frotunately, You can fix it. How to make an Internet with two sim cards. So far the solution is. Select the tray with the sim card and insert it back, an alert will appear. Click on it and select "Data transfer" and the SIM card you need. All.

No, I wrote in the post, you must go to Advanced->FileManager. Then choose sdcard->Android. Then delete it and reboot into recovery.
How to pass safetynet in this ROM? Magisk does not work correctly

Has anyone tested Google maps while driving with this ROM yet? I cannot install this ROM if the problems with the accelerometer and the compass affects Google maps' reliability.
Also, why do all custom ROM for xiaomi redmi note 3 mtk have laggy scrolling problem?
After 2 days of testing, I changed to RR. Some of the reasons are:
1. Problem with proximity sensor, sometimes it is not working while using Wave2Wake. I have to wave a few times to wake up the screen.
2. Problem with orientation. Orientation keep on upside down while using Waze. It's not stable. Also problem while entering pincode from lock screen to home. It stayed in landscape mode although set to portrait.

Several Days using this ROM,
1. Sometimes, camera apk force closed/crash after taking/shoot pictures/video.
2. Sometimes, touch screen unlock display didn't respond/worked after standby a long period while didn't connect network (wifi/data) to close must reboot the phone
3. Playing video or open pictures in full mode screen sometimes rotating self (Gyrosensor?)

install it through recovery,without cleaning cache and dalvik cache, it is very important. The second sim does not work on one firmware except for some on TW.
