I agree, The X-doria bumper is really bulky.
Copied from the accessories thread
I ordered 2 bumpers for my Xperia Z and both arrived last week. I'll do a short review of both in case anyone is in the market for a decent bumper.
Black aluminium bumper http://amzn.to/13xdOSn
There are quite a few of these being sold under different brands and I suspect they all come from the same manufacturer since the photos all look identical. It comes in 2 parts, you set your XZ into the front and slide the back on. The inside is lined with soft rubber for protection. It looks sleek and stylish and doesn't add much bulk, however I don't think it would offer great drop protection. The edges feel a little sharp when held against my ear but overall the bumper feels great in the hand. The ports (especially audio) are a bit difficult to access but not impossible. The volume buttons seemed a little difficult to press at first but I soon got used to it.
Roxfit bumper http://amzn.to/11weE0g
This is supposedly officially endorsed by Sony. It comes in nice packaging with a screen and back protector (which I haven't tried). The bumper has glossy black edges with a clear centre and has a couple of logos. It feels rubbery and provides great grip. It adds quite a lot of bulk which should offer great drop protection, this also makes the edge of the screen a bit difficult to access when using one handed. Ports are relatively easy to access.
Personally I prefer the aluminium bumper as it looks better, doesn't add much bulk and the phone is easier to use than with the Roxfit.
I got Metal Slim, Aluminium Bumper, Roxfit Bumper & Poetic Bumper.... here's some comments.
Metal Slim - actually it's not really slim, I used 1 days then drop it.
Aluminium bumper - it damaged by Xperia Z after dropped from table
Roxfit bumper - a little bit soft and slim
Poetic bumper - just like Roxfit but more colorful

So which one is your favourite? ****ty thing is, that they are all not really thin ;/!
Is the aluminium bumper damaged because of the drop or did the bumper damage your phone?

I keep seeing people posting "bumper" cases, but it seems that they don't understand what a bumper Case is our the company they bought from doesn't.... rusher way I'm looking for an actual aluminum bumper for my s6. Bumper meaning no back what so ever. Only edge protection. Please post any and all bumpers you find aluminium or otherwise and I will start a list here in the OP.
Ps. I have the versus iron shield bumper and while it is very nice I would highly recommend it, it's bumper bit large for my taste. Looking for something slimmer.
Aluminium Bumpers:
Verus Iron Shield Aluminium Bumper
Baesus Aluminium Bumper S6
Other Bumpers:
Spigen Neo Hybrid Bumper - Polycarbonate
Assortment of Cases/Bumpers from Case Fanatic

The only other place i can think of is casefanatic.com,
bumpers category: http://www.casefanatic.com/samsung/galaxy-s6/bumper-galaxy-s6/
but they ship most of em from china so unless you choose fast shipping then it'll take a couple weeks to get to you. But they have a large selection of cases for the s6 including about 3-5 bumper cases.
I have a Verus Aluminum bumper. Spigen has an identical one, but with black rubber instead of clear. And there are plenty more out there.
I am, however, now looking for an all plastic/rubber case that isn't ugly as the aluminum completely kills signal. I lose about 40 dBm of signal (full 5 bars to 1bar/no signal) as soon as I put the aluminum bumper on.
My phone with Verus aluminum bumper:
Edit: Sorry, I missed your "P.S.", I read the top part and thought the rest was part of your sig. That said, anything "smaller/thinner" than something like the Verus won't protect the camera on the back. I'd personally rather have another mm of thickness and not be laying the phone down on the camera.
Any aluminum bumper will degrade signal and wifi,it happens on the spigens, obliqs, or just about any metal band. I had the spigen and noticed it.

Yeah I like the Verus and it's a great case. It's just so think... I love how they damn near perfectly mimicked the edges of the s6. I haven't had any issues with signal degradation though. Kind of odd that you are, the silicon buffer is supposed to make it so that doesn't happen. Very odd indeed.
Oh and I am going to edit the OP to ask for all bumper case suggestions so that those who aren't looking for an aluminum option have somewhere to look as well. :good:

I would've as well but it's not aluminium which for me personally is a must. Also I fear an aluminium version would suffer from the same size issue as the Verus.
If you both would post pics when you get them I'd like to compare it to the Verus for size. Obviously a picture isn't the best way to do it, but it's better than nothing.

i hate to admit it but you are absolutely right. I just got this bumber and love how sleek it is, i prefer it over my neo hydrid ex. But after seeing your comment and testing it out there's a huge difference in signal strength. With the metal bumber i get -113/114 dBm with 26 asu compared to the neo hybrid with -105dBm with 34 asu. i always thought it was just those cases with the metal backing that effected signal but just the bumper is enough to make a significant difference.

I had a really hard time putting it on the first time, and then trying to take it off the first time, I thought it was now a permanent fixture. I was really afraid I was going to break the phone from the pressure. Once I finally got it off, I couldn't get the Iron Shield case on. (The bumper is printed "Iron Shield", but it's actually "Iron Bumper" - they just use the same bumper piece for both.) I've now taken each off a couple times, and the rubber is getting more flexible now.
But yes, it will come off with some SERIOUS effort - just be careful. I have no helpful tips other than "keep trying".
I have both the verus aluminum and the spider plastic bumpers. I like the spigen one, but honestly I didn't feel like it was very protective. It just felt flimsy. The verus felt better in the had, but made the phone too wide, and also the headphones jack was super slim. I ended up taking a drill and widening it so my headphones will fit.

I had to break the Verus bumper to get it off. I will be demanding a refund.

I don't understand why everyone says the verus is hard to take off. It's tight, but not difficult. I usually start at the top and push the bumper back while moving the phone and rubber part forward.

The first time I tried to take it off, it very much felt like the phone was going to break well before the case came off.
For those having issues, what finally became a good method for me was to use a thicker (terry cloth type) microfiber cloth to get a decent grip on the top/right corner, from the front pushing the corner off to the back, and just slowly, with steady/firm pressure, push the case back. Trying to quickly force it off did nothing, but a slow firm pressure did it. Then once that slid off, repeat at the top left corner, with will come more easily.
Another issue for me with the aluminum bumpers is that I dont want it to come free of the rubber and then scratch the glass (unlikely) or the phone's aluminum edge (far more likely).
I picked up a "Xuenair" branded silver aluminium bumper from eBay. It looks great, the buttons feel good, and the cutouts are perfect. Unfortunately though, it kills my GPS. Interesting enough, the cellular signal only degrades by 2-4 dbm at home.
I do use GPS quite often though.. so eBay refund process I go.

Does that bumper have anything to keep the camera off of a table surface when setting it down? (I assume you got the thin bare metal one that latches on.)

I do indeed have the thin metal one with a latch on the bottom right corner. To answer your question though, no, my camera unfortunately still remains in contact with the surface when it's laying down. I'm not too concerned about it since I have a tiny PET film lens protector, but it definitely could scratch the paint still.
Got it ! Very Elegant !
Hello, everyone!
I found this nice looking metal bumper on eBay:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/281901716741?_mwBanner=1
Does anyone have any experiences with it? Does it fit well?
If nobody have this bumper: What do you think? Is there any chance that it'll scratch the edges of the 6P when installing? Regarding the back: Do you think it's a fingerprint magnet?
I would be happy about any thoughts of all kind you can share!
Thanks a lot and have a great day!
They definitely look interesting, however they look like fingerprint magnets, specially the silver one. If they're really made of smooth metal they may be very slippery and covering the phone's antennas with metal might cause signal problems.
Damn, almost worth $16 just to find out cuz the black one looks sick. Definitely probably a fingerprint magnet but looks slick af.

I don't have that same one, but I had an aluminum bumper on my 6P and it really decreased my signal strength. Also made my GPS unusable in the car (always dropping my location). But man, did it look sweet combined with my dbrand skin.

Same issue.
I had a similar bumper. No issues with scratching but was just horrible for signal.
On Mine I had back covered with di-noc 3M carbon fiber vinyl. Looked sweet, but nonfunctional.

Had a somewhat similar case with my old Note 4. The case had a metal bumper and a glass back, absolutely stunning and didn't scratched my phone. It did, however, reduced my wifi and cell signal to unusable level, and made my GPS virtually non-functional. OP, stay away from metal bumper or cases, at least those that physically touch the phone.
On an unrelated note, I truly hope that spigen would introduce their metal neo hybrid series for our 6P. Had one with my note 4, that was truly a looker. Sleek black TPU case with textured back, surrounded by an almost visually orgasmic metal bumper that never touches the phone, preventing any signal loss.

I don't think Otterbox cover the Nokia 8. On my current near-dead Moto G4 plus I've been using a Tudia Merge and found it pretty rugged (phone has survived several drops over the past two years). It's two part - thick tpu with a hard shell wrapping around the back and sides. They add more bulk than most tpu cases, but not too much for me.
I've yet to try the Nokia version, but have one on order (along with the phone!).
Search for the following on Ebay (Luxury Metal Aluminum Bumper+Carbon Fiber Back Case Cover For Nokia 7 8 6 6 2018) i bought one and it has saved my phone from some nasty falls
I am using this... It has worked pretty well up to now with several drops... (I am not very careful)
https://nillkin.org/smartphones-accessories/nokia-phones-accessories/nokia-8-accessories/nillkin-nokia-8-frosted
This case should be no more than $12.
The only positive is it has good lip protection in the front. Otherwise, it's flimsy, very little rear camera protection and its a little slippery in the hand.
Oneplus has it going for $39.95. Way overpriced
https://www.oneplus.com/product/oneplus-8-pro-karbon-bumper-case
Side note, their Nylon cases are usually pretty good but not available for the pro version
It's the best case for 7 Pro series. Not great but enough protection, very thin, satin feel. I didn't find any better and I tested many of them (running premium mobile accessories store)
I will second DforDesign. I love the Karbon case on my 7 pro. It looks alright, but what i like is the slim feel of the phone. Perfect for anyone that wants a slim case that fits like a glove.
But i also agree that the price could be lower, but maybe you get what you paid. I've been rocking the case for circa a year now, but i see 0 signs of use. It looks like the day i've got it.
It's your opinion. You can hate it but why did you convince people to hate it too? Karbon is hand down the best case in term of design and feel in hand that OnePlus made.
I bought the bundle with three cases: The silicone case, the blue sandstone case and the carbon case. Although I think the carbon case looks nice it's surprisingly slippery so I've opted to use the blue sandstone one which matches the glacial green color of the phone better (someone at oneplus must be colorblind as it's more blue than green imho). It also isn't slippery (more like sandpaper).

Wait what? The official color of the phone is called "glacial green". :silly: I was talking about the phone, not the case.
I like the carbon case actually
I have ordered the carbon one from Latercase instead - looks much better than the Oneplus one - has cutouts for the buttons so you dont have to press rubber - plus covers all the gaps so you cant see any phone colour through the case

Pitaka will soon release their case with support for MagEZ mounts.
I must agree, the case is really not. Received mije today, unfortunately bought it over ebay classifiedsan can't return it.
First of all, it has sharp edges on the outside around the camera on the right. Maybe others can confirm this.
Second, at the top right corner right to the speeaker, the rubber coating has a small failur you directly look on, when looking on the screen.
Last thing i'm not happy about, is, that it has no rubber coating or anything soft on the inside. Depending the fact the used kevlar ist harder than the glass on the back of the phone, it will scatch the phone.
I must say, i expected a lot more, when ordering something which costs in production less than 5 USD for 40 Euros, which are around 42 USD.
Maybe some of you could give their first experienced with that case.
Greetings.
Here, in addition to my post, are the pics of the quality issues of the official Oneplus Karbon Kase.
Greetings
To me that looks like normal wear and tear
Unfortunately its new and the package was sealed, when i got it. And the small bubbles of the rubber coating do not come from use. The problem that the edge seems to be used is, i had such a bubble there too ajd hoped it was dirt and rubbed just a once with my finger nail over it. Thats the result. In addition, that case is one the market for around two weeks now. Even if these issues came from use, a case that expensive shouldn't look like this.
I'm using a 8 EUR/ 10USD Cover from Amazon now. And that one does not have a single quality issue like the Oneplus case.
I have the case and like it very much.
This case works fine for me...
If the quality problems wouldn't occur, inwould have been very happy with the case. I'm just a little disappointed over quality and the support. Especially concerning the fact, that the profit margin seems to be very high for this product. But i'm lokking forward to the Pitaka case. Once had one for my Galaxy S9 Plus and and touching it was a joy every time.
Ordered a pikata case [emoji4] had one for my s9+ ... Best case ever! Jeden pfennig wert [emoji851]
So i can use my wireless qi mag charger in my car...

Confirmed, I've been doing the same and the new Karbon case has a more slippery (soft touch) surface, but it also got a slightly bit more productive around the edges - compared to the 5er.
Price is high but I would buy it again.
