Motherboard replacement - Xperia Z5 Accessories

Hi guys! Do you know where I can buy motherboard to replace the one I have in my z5 dual? It got water damaged and I sent it to the repair shop and their asking me to pay almost the same amount I paid it brand new. (Is replacing the motherboard that expensive? I'll not continue if it is...) So I'm going to try fix it myself or let someone who knows better do it while I'll buy the parts. I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

hi,
is there any problem with replacing the motherboard, such as the fingerprint sensor is somehow tied to the original motherboard? i'm thinking about buying a z5 with broken display on ebay and using that motherboard. thanks for any help!

Hey mate, i have the same problem, my xperia Z4 got water damaged only sony logo appears and it vibrates three times and restarts, did this same thing happened with you? Did you get the motherboard replaced?

Who ever is thinking that their motherboard is not functioning, you have to try at mobile repair shops.
Sony service center people tell you to change everything but they are wrong.
My Z5 is water damaged and Sony India wanted me to pay 25000 Indian Rupees (convert it).
I've taken my phone to mobile repair shop(Delhi) and paid 5000 rupees for repairs including screen replacement.
Ofcourse screen is not genuine but mobile is working 100%. Fingerprint etc....
If your phone is even vibrating without anything on display, it is not motherboard fault. Get your screen replaced. It will do.

Thanks

Hello Guys. I too have a Sony Xperia Z5 E6653 Single sim version. I accidentally dropped my phone into water and then the screen started behaving strange. After switching off the phone to avoid damage and turned it ON after couple of days now I found my screen dead. When I touch the fingerprint sensor the phone vibrates, when I press the camera button the LED turns ON and I can hear the click sound. I couldn't put the phone in rice as I was traveling. Giving the phone to service center the technician said that the display IC is gone and he cant do anything. I took the phone to local repair shop and guy told me that display is gone and he can try replacing the display, but still not working. Is there any store in India - Mumbai where the chip level repairs are done, any hopes in resurrecting the phone?

Hi,
The golden-colored pin(s) is a part of SIM card reader. If one of that pin was broken (like break up during uninstallation of the SIM card), you can't read any SIM card (because the SIM card reader doesn't have enough pin to read the SIM card). For the cost on the Sony Service Centre, I don't know since I never use Sony devices.

Don't worry they just replace ur sim slot...not mobo....
But they can charge little high price cuz...the device is waterproof.... And it needs to open the panel via heat..and suction cup.. Nd close the panel via a special glue.. So water resistant remains...
But it worth it...

XPERIA Z5 Baseband IC chip Repair/replacement

Last month my Z5 suddenly stopped working, the Radio/antenna is not working at all. I sent my phone to SONY for repair only to find out they won't repair it due to a 'bend' on the phone frame. I then sent the phone to another third party repair service (Quick Mobile Fix) . They have quoted an additional payment is needed of £80 (I paid £79.99 for antenna repair originally) as it needs a new Baseband IC. Just trying to search more and see if there is any other way to fix the phone. I have searched on the forum but the threads are for older Xperia Z (Z, SP) , does anyone have any advice? I'm stuck using my old Xperia S that doesn't really work properly
has anyone had this issue?

[Q] Daughterboard Replacement (Microphone issues)

Let me preface by saying I have read the 4 page thread & nothing there seems to help.
I bought a Pixel late last year as gift for my mother as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, after resetting the device, I found that the phone had microphone issues - working for about an hour after the phone had been booted, then cutting out, taking the loud speaker, vibration motor and auxilary jack with. Much more recently, I have noticed that the loud speaker will now work, but the phone will not pick up an auxiliary input anymore, nor will the microphone work at all or the vibration motor.
From what I've read on here, Google seems to have fixed this issue in all phones built from January 2017 onwards but I am unable to find anyone selling the latest revision of this board online - I'm currently contemplating taking this into a Carphone Warehouse store to send it off (as they are an official Google repair centre), but I don't want to pay over the odds for something I know only takes 10 minutes to do.
My question is: has anyone had similar issues & fixed them? Was the problem the charging port PCB, or was it something on the main motherboard?
Also, does anyone know of anywhere that has stock of post-Jan 2017 boards, or even have a working spare themselves that they are willing to sell? I'm wearing pretty thin with this at the moment & would love some advice.
Thanks!

I have the same issue and got fixed by replacing something on the motherboard. the engineer said is something from Qualcomm. I guess it is Qualcomm WCD9335.
The total cost is around $30

Have you disassembled the phone yet? One of the antenna cables could have come loose, they're pretty fiddly and pop out sometimes when the phone is dropped.
I'm pretty sure the antenna for both WiFi & cellular is on the daughter board as both the antenna cables connect from the daughter board to the motherboard so I would assume a loose connection would be the issue, but if neither side of the cable are loose, then it's probably going to be damage to the daughter board or a software issue - I'd attempt a software wipe first, just in case.
Thanks buddy

I bought a Pixel with a broken screen late last year & my intentions were to replace the screen and gift the phone to my mother as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, after replacing the screen and resetting the device, I found that the phone had microphone issues so I opened it up again, replaced the lower PCB with a spare I had lying around... same issue, only this time the microphone works if there's no pressure on the screen (eg. it's connected, but not stuck down?). Both these boards were built on the same day, within 2 minutes of each other (June 2016) so I can only assume that both boards have the common microphone issue of pre-2017 built OG Pixels.
After being unsuccessful thus far, I went online purchased another board (with a 12 month warranty), fitted this & low and behold it's got the same issue. The new board was built in May 2016 and seems to be a completely different revision as it looks quite different to both of the other boards in my possession (no antenna clips, different smd's, different spring design & minus 1 spring).

PM'd
Update: I contacted Google's authorised repairers.
Carphone Warehouse will fix the issue for the extortionate price of £169.99 (over half the price of a new one) & "SBE" have effectively said that they will not attempt repairs on devices that are outside of their warranty period, so basically, they won't fix Pixels at all (as they don't fix in-warranty devices).
Update #2:
After contacting Google again to say that their repairers wouldn't repair the device/repair it for a reasonable price, the support agent said the phone may still be in warranty & organised an RMA - the phone was returned to Google & replaced with a "refurbished" warranty version, which actually looks brand new! The even better news is that the phone isn't locked to EE, so a custom rom is being dumped on it as I type this!

Hello, pixel user from Malaysia here.
May i acquire his contact details as well? With the taobao store link too.
This will definitely fix the microphone problem right?
Since this thread was started, a lot has happened in the Pixel world including a lawsuit over this very issue.
Can anyone else confirm that replacing the Audio Codec (Qualcomm WCD9335) will fix the microphone issue?

I tried to replace the audio codec with a local phone repair shop, it resulted in the phone not powering at all, the guy told me that under the audio codec there is some other lines on the board that were effected during the replacement, since then I'm trying to buy a motherboard to get my phone working again. No luck tho, I bought another pixel already and lost that one, so be careful.

Go to system settings>display, see if you have a setting called "Accidental Touch Protection" and if it is enabled. That feature could be activating and then freezing the screen when you try to turn it back on.

Hi there! What was the answer or Solution by technicians? Did they solved the problem?
Hi all there! As I see this issue is the same that A52 has. It's a typical factory problem that could be solved charging the main flex. That's the definitive Solution !
I have the same problem with my A72 (A725f)XID
Any solutions
I tried downgrading it didn't help
Changing the screen of flex also doesn't help
So it's a software problem
But any solutions???
I have the same problem. It seems that all A72 series are affected by this problem. The flex cable appears to be problematic. Almost every Samsung product I purchased had issues. So, never again Samsung.
Sorry for late reply for all questions above. My A72 was not even a year old it was sended to numerous shops from Samsung to the cheap Pakistani shops and it is Un repairable they said that there might Me a chance to repair it if I replace the main board but to find one is very scarce and a new one is almost the price of a new device.
To me personally I will never get a Samsung again my next upgrade will be Huawei,Google pixel or a Xiaomi or anything else I do think that the better devices like Samsung galaxy S22,S21FE and Z fold won't have problems like the A72 or A52 or there was just a big bach of manufacturing that went wrong.
But do let me know if you guys got it fixed in any way maybe I can have a try to fix mine then but to replace part for part and hope that it will be fixed is a expensive route to go.
No just make sure your next samsung is from the European or North /South american market
Then you won't have no issues
I use The A53 & A52s 5G now & i don't have problems

I ordered a new main flat cable, and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but stupid NordPost in Norway did not deliver it in time. So, I must wait until Monday or Tuesday to get it. Basically, my phone has been opened and lying since Wednesday. I will update you, when I replace the cable. In any case, original main cable in Norway is very inexpensive. It cost me 110 nok or 11 euros.

You are lucky it is not expensive here in South Africa every thing is expensive if I take a guess it will be around R400, my phone acted actually weird because it started to have unresponsive screen restarted the device then will work for a few seconds then will have the same problem, sometimes my network signal will totally disappear and there will be two round sircles, sometimes when I charge my device it will show the phone is overheating even though the device was not even on for a while other times it will show the charging port is wet I can't think that the flex cable will cause all that problems
