[MultiRom] Uninstall Problem - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I've got an Shield Tablet with the Y01 Battery.
I installed a custom Rom (5.1.1) and MultiRom, now i wanted to Upgrade on a MM Custom ROM, but the Recovery (TWRP) is version 2.8.7 so it isnt compatible with MM ROMs.
I tried to flash TWRP 3.0 via fastboot, but then I could not boot into recovery again, only into Fastboot. So how do is uninstall the MultiRom Recovery and install a clean TWRP ?
I can't install the Stock Nvidia Rom because this would kill the Tablet. Can I flash the original Recovery only ? Or does this kill the Tablet too ?
I hope you can understand my Problem, sorry I'm not a native speaker..
Thanks mates

Then when i try to install Slimrom or CM installer to flash and install a new OS but i getting an error 7 - unverified file so i cannot put any Os back on the device
Can anyone help?
Sounds like you flashed the wrong recovery, possible that you installed the p3100 recovery.
Try reflashing the recovery.

Flashing KK ROMs on outdated recovery will get you a status 7 error. Grab the latest (I'd go with TWRP as CWM support will be ending soon) version from here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548257 update to the latest one you like (CWM is 6.0.5.0) Load up a ROM and give it a go. I put all my ROMs on an external card to be safe. Maybe do that and then just install from such.
p,s. CM installer never works, I dont think our tabs are compatible with it. At least I've never got it to work. But, you dont need it anyways.

Custom recovery / CyanogenMod for Teclast P78HD?

Hello, I have a Teclast P78HD. Flashed the new firmware v2.03 using PhoenixSuit, and rooted with KINGO Root. But I can't do anything in the recovery, I tried flashing TWRP or CyanogenMod (http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/978...inner-a31-by-christiantroy-update-2014-04-19/). The flash process seems fine, but I can't see any changes in the OS and the recovery is still the same.
Is there a custom recovery that could help me flash custom ROMs?

[Q] Which version of TWRP with KatKiss 4.4.4?

I am going to flash the 4.4.4. KatKiss ROM (currently my 101 is on KatKiss 4.3.1)
I am planning a full format / wipe....do I need this or can I just flash the ROM with TWRP?
What version of TWRP is recommended for this ROM? I am on 2.3.1.
If I have to upgrade TWRP, what is the best way to do it? I have heard ADB is not recommended??? What about TWRP manager on GooglePlay?
Thanks a lot - Love the ROM, and the help!

You should be able to just wipe SYSTEM, CACHE and DALVIK CACHE and flash the ROM and GAPPS
IIRC it's fine doing it that way for upgrading, but if you ever wanted to return to a lower version of Android, you'd have to factory reset / format everything
You should be good to go with that version of TWRP, I use 2.3.2.3 but unfortunately the Goo Manager used for upgrading TWRP has been dropped, so you'd need to use a flashable zip to update
Flash from your current version of TWRP, then reboot back into Android to complete the update, once back in Android, you can boot into your new TWRP and flash your new 4.4.4 ROM

Unable to get OTA Updates installed on TWRP - Need to go back to stock recovery

Hi All,
Background:
Installed TWRP recovery to downgrade to KitKat from Android ver 5.0.2 / COS 12.0 YNg1TAS17L
( I guess the changes in lollipop made me to do so).
But after installing TWRP, for some reason or other I did nothing and now the issue is the OTA are not getting installed. From other similar thread I know that we can download the OTA zip and install through TWRP and I am not looking to get into that...as I am giving this device to my family.
Help Required:
1) Is there a way to uninstall TWRP and go back to stock recovery without losing any data?
( Is it as simple as flashing recovery image from the Stock ROM?)
2) Using the OnePlus tool kit can we flash the stock ROM which will also restore the stock recovery?
(If so is it possible to flash the latest ROM 5.1.1 or CM12.1)
I just need guidance here with steps on what will be the best and safe approach without frying up my device.
Please suggest

Numerous other threads on the same subject... I don't understand why you are not ready to flash the OTA through TWRP but you are through stock recovery... It's the same thing... Don't use toolkit, they are the ones, in 99% of the cases, that "fry" your phone... As soon as TWRP is installed no OTA will automatically, you will have to flash them manually.

Can't get MM-based roms to work (LL-based roms run fine)

So I've been trying to update my Shield LTE ROW since this Friday from the stock based rom LL (version 3.1.1) to the MM-based rom (version 4.2) and spend a dozen of hours failing to update :crying:
When I install a MM-based rom the shield boots and the nvidia logo shows a few seconds and then the screen goes black. When the tablet is attached to my pc I noticed that the tablet is not turned off but booted in APX-mode.
These are the things I've tried:
Installing the recovery image 4.2 (fails)
Installing the recovery image 4.1 (fails)
Installing the recovery image 4.0.1 (fails)
Installing the recovery image 3.1.1 (works)
Installing several full and incremental OTA updates to 4.x (fails)
Installing CM 13.0 (fails)
Installing carbon 5.1.1 (works)
Followed the guides mentioned in topics: http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/help/unable-to-update-to-marshmallow-rom-t3444124 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/general/unofficial-update-original-shield-t3281541 (fails)
I've tried a lot of things, but now I'm out of ideas.
Has anyone a explanation why MM-based roms don't want to boot on my tablet? And has the knowledge to fix this?
All feedback is welcome and appreciated.
You are currently able to flash and boot with 3.1.1 or stuck in apx mode?
I'm able to flash and boot with 3.1.1. Only MM-based roms are stuck in apx mode when booting.
You are probably on the Lollipop boatloader still. With that bootloader MM based roms don't work. Flash the latest stock from here, root it with cf-autoroot, flash twrp and MM based roms should work.
Thanks for your advice, I'll try it this weekend.
Just a quick question, why do I need to root and flash twrp? Shouldn't it work if I only flash the latest stock?
