Hello. This post is going to be semi rant semi help needed. I'm going to list the issues on my infuse. Feedback whether or not you have the same issues or a way to fix would be great. I'm getting pretty irritated with this phone though. Here we go!
Apps crash way more than they should. Browser, camera, music player, Facebook. Just random.
When receiving phone call, it just vibrates. Trust me, the volume is up all of the way. I go to change ringtone and that doesn't even make a sound. I have to reboot for my sound to work. Very frustrating.
Call quality. Jeeeeeesus Christ. I have never had a phone where the other person constantly says "what? I can't hear you?" Or "why does it sound like you're a mile away from your phone?" Or "take me off speaker phone!" I ASSURE YOU the phone is on my face, mic by my mouth, and outside where I have full bars.
And now as of today, I tried to show videos I took at warped tour 2 days ago and get the error "cannot view video" I literally took the video myself with the phone. Watched it before. But now I can't.
Smh.....
Stock rom, I am rooted but these have been on going before I decided to root.
Like I said in the beginning. This is a rant/cry for help.
If anyone is having the same issues or knows a fix, reply?
Thanks for reading

It's defective, ask for a return.
I tried. But I got on Craigslist without the box and att demands box and receipt. -_- I can always go with Samsung warranty but ill be phoneless for a couple weeks. Is the call quality bad on anyone else's? That's one of my main concernes.

LOL!
I bought a massage on craigslist and it was the worst massage ever. The chick wasn't even hot!!! I was going to ask for a refund, but she didn't give me a receipt and her pimp required a receipt for any refunds.
Traded an iphone 4 without box.

I used to have call quality problems but i fixed it. It can be fixed if you disable the samsung noise reduction, just press the menu key during a call

I haven't noticed any of the issues you seem to be having.
Call quality seems good, (at least nobody has said anything negative about it). Phone volume works as it should, apps don't crash any more than normal.
You definitely have a dud, you may just have to go through the Samsung Warranty.. their service is excellent. They don't ask many questions, they simply email you a UPS shipping label, you ship the phone back to them, then in a few weeks, you get it back.
Samsung Customer Support is really quite good(at least in my experience.)
It also sounds like your "stock" in that you have no clue what was done to your phone before it got in your hands. I'd try flashing a ROM (infused is my favorite), and deleting all the data to have a fresh install. May help
I've had the same call quality issues. I just posted a week or two ago with the same frustrations. Multiple people would tell me that I wasn't talking in to the phone. Glad to hear of this noise reduction stuff.
Althought you bought the phone on craigslist. the att warranty is not void. I had this happend to me before. get with the previous owner. ask them for the cell phone number, and explain to att that you bought the phone from him. they will send you a replacement.

Ive had it for about a month now. I whipped data as soon as I got it. I've used all the roms for it but I bricked it so I am just on stock ATM. I really only rooted for screen shot capabilities.

If you have the official Twitter app, it has been causing lots of issues with music, ringtones, videos and notifications not working. There has been a lot of success fixing these issues by simply deleting the Twitter app. It fixed all my media related issues.
I have had great call quality with mine though. I think it is way better than my iPhone 4 was for making calls.

Has happened to someone that sometime the SGR lost the date even if I don't take out the battery?
Sometimes, 1 times a month, my SGR is behind of 1 day in the system date. I have tried both with automatic network time both manual local time.

set locale of it native country.....
I have the same issue. It's very annoying because I usually don't notice it right away. And then when I do and correct it, all messages and stuff will be messed up.

In date and time, I can't specilly choose my country/capital

Happened to me on a couple of occasions. Unchecking and checking the Automatic (Use network provided values under Date & Time menu) solves the issue for me.

I've actually tracked down the problem with Galaxy R mis-specifying date to date roll-over from one month to the other. It was a bit tricky, but 'works' with both the automatic time/date retrieval on and off.
The deal is as follows:
- if current month has less days than the previous month - no problem (e.g. February has 28/29, January has 31 - when going from February to March no problem exists)
- if current month has more days than the previous month, whenever the number of days of the previous month is exceeded, Galaxy R rolls-over to next month.
To be specific, in 2012:
- on 30th March Galaxy R thought it is 1st April
- on 31st May Galaxy R thought it is 1st June
I am observing this on 2.3.4 version of Android, maybe .5 or .6 have it fixed. Problem is re-occuring (so far occured 4-5 times from when I bought the phone last autumn) and if I get some spare time on my hands, I will try to replicate it in 'laboratory conditions'. Annoying as hell though, as once I haven't noticed and had my messages messed-up for a couple of days.
Hope that helps...
Greg.

Just curious as to how my incoming calls are displaying caller ID. For example after placing an order with 1800 contacts, they had to call me to verify something and their name popped up on the caller ID. I don't have them saved in my contacts. And I also have the caller ID app disabled.
Is there some other new feature in this phone I am not aware of? Or is this some trial thing that is going to expire?
Thanks in advance
I noticed that on mine too (and I made sure NEVER to open the caller ID app as I read even opening it would trigger a free trial followed by a monthly charge without asking). Let's hope this isn't some kind of setup to charge us next month and say 'well your free trial we didn't even ask you about expired'.
That would be crappy. Glad I'm not the only one noticing it.
So I also disabled google music. I know there is this 6 month free trial of all access. Does that start from date of phone activation or can I wait until winter when I'll use it more?

As far as I'm aware you have to manually opt in to the Play Music All Access trial. Play Music itself is a free service, you can upload your own mp3s and stream them, All Access is Google's Spotify competitor and you can ignore it entirely even if you're using Play Music's other features.
i believe you can cancel the day you sign up for all access, you will still have your access for 6 months but wont be billed at 6 months.
" FREE VZW MSG: Congrats! Your new DROID gets 6 FREE months of unlimited Google Play Music All Access. To redeem, visit Go.vzw.com/music. Reply X to stop msgs"
I received this text today. Looks like I can redeem when the time is right for me.
Still no answer about caller ID though.

If it's anything like the version on my bionic as long as you don't open the caller id app never starts the trial and keeps working. If you accidentally start the trial just clear app data. Been using it for nearly 2 years without getting charged.
But they may have fixed things in the newer version.

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had any MMS Issues since buying this phone. I've had several people ask me if I ever got the pictures they sent, and I just never got them. This happened on both stock and custom roms. Weird thing is, this morning I had my wife send me a test MMS and it worked. But later in the day, I didn't receive one again.
Thoughts?

I'll be tentatively getting my N5 on Monday (knock on wood), so if everything goes according to plan I'll test MMS right away and let you know.
I get them but I'm not always notified that a new message exists. Seems to be group MMS messages I'm not receiving notifications for. This is probably more of a Hangouts issue than a Sprint issue tho.
The problem is more unicorns exist in the world than sprint cell towers

I'm on sprint and up until like 3 hours ago, my MMS was working great... But now for some reason, I can't send any but can still receive them no problem. It's pretty irritating. I haven't changed anything yet they just stopped working. Using textra (and have been since I got the phone two weeks ago)

Turn data on to receive mms. And I hope this thread will stop you from asking 100+ times in less than 24hrs in the same rom thread about same issue. Thanks.

I've had really bad issues for the past two days... it hasn't been great to begin with. I'm convinced it's network issues, but it happens at work and at home.
Cleveland, OH FWIW...
If you're using Hangout, try 8SMS. It's a free app, a KitKat modified version of the CM messaging app. One cool feature (which Sprint supports) is that'll send MMS via Wi-Fi. They also have a thread in Android Apps here in XDA.

I'd consider it, but my MMS are back to working. That wi-fi MMS thing sounds awesome though... it's just- I've been waiting for SMS/MMS in hangouts for so long, I don't want to cheat on it!
Is it just me or the Pixel 2 freezes after 4hours of intense gaming?
I was playing Lineage 2 while this happened, had to long press power and volume down to get it to restart.

I've had freezes and reboots after regular use always while using preinstalled apps, and even in safe mode doing nothing. First time occurred after a couple of hours of non-stop use, but subsequent reboots occur randomly, sometimes immediately after rebooting, sometimes while in my pocket. Happens a few times each day. My replacement unit is on its way.

Thanks for replying. As far as it goes, it only happened once out of my 10 days of usage. You must have really received a defective product.
But still though, this phone produces too much heat, it feels like the xda reviews were made by people paid by google. Will unfortunately have to report these guys for misleading.

Hmm, I have not experience the phone getting overly warm and that's even after long gaming sessions with and without the case. Perhaps it's more your use case, or you have a bum unit

Yeah, crashes in safe mode with pre installed apps (and maybe just 1 app like whatsapp) is definitely a reason for RMA.
I haven't got a reboot in the Pixel 2 since purchase (1 month usage so far), but I've been using 8.1 DP since then.

There seems to be a strong correlation between this problem and AT&T users in South Florida where the LTE signal is weak. I've switched my device to 3G while in the areas I know have a problem. It's a bit of a pain to switch back and forth. I might have to change providers.

You're probably playing some trash games, try Lineage 2 you will see, I have 5-6 friends who own the pixel 2 and telling me the same heat problem is occuring, 4 of them already asked for replacement from google, 2 obtained and same problem again so yeah..
And nobviously I tried it without a case to check.
I would also advise no one to use the pixel 2 without case in regular usage though, cause it bends afaik.
P.s: It's not the game that's the problem, other phones run it well without crash

Reading reports elsewhere that it's related to poor signal strength on 4G. Others have proved the 4G aspect by temporarily forcing to 3G, and then the issue goes away. The latest 8.1 beta apparently improves the situation by temporarily switching to 3G and back to 4G when it, presumably, detects an impending crash!? See here:

This is happening on my OG Pixel XL as well. It's not just a Pixel 2 problem.
