No, sorry, If you try to flash back it hard bricks. You can write to http://lg-firmware-rom.com/contact/
They have recovery roms for soft bricks, and they are nice enough to answer why you can't flash backwards. You're gonna need to move to metropcs or tmobile lg phones with marshmallow because they have unlocked bootloaders.

Lg G4 AT&T Bricked.

Hello , please i need help with my G4 at&t, is in bootloop.
Try to root the phone , apparently all went well until reboot, stay in bootloop .
and apply the factory reset and no change.
now it's worse , bring it to a technical service and They tried to fix it using a rom H811 and naw is totaly brick.
what root method are you using? i didnt know att G4 root was available
Currently, only the international version can be rooted.
The Op is S.O.L. The phone's partitions are probably screwed up due to attempt to root.

My advice? Spike the phone into the ground as hard as you possibly can, pay the deductible, and get yourself a new phone.
WTF did you do to try and root it?

I followed this tutorial:
https://www.androidroot.us.com/how-to-root-lg-g4/
why follow a guide from a dodgy/fake guide site and then come to XDA to ask for help?
if there was a way to root the device, xda would have the guide too, tried and tested.
don't have a clue what rubbish their software pushes onto your phone and what it does.
go to at&t you got home after a long day at work and saw your phone was off. it wouldn't switch on so you put it on charge and it's still dead in the morning

Sadly your out of luck, unless AT&T will replace it for you.

Should I root my MOTO G 2015? To get more storage?

Hello everyone! I didn't want to root my new MOTO G 2015 but I need more storage if I want to install more app's, I saw with root permissions we can transfer full sized app's to the sd, is it true? and how? I've seen already a guide how to root moto g 2015, but know I want to know how to transfer full sized app's to the SD and then i'll decide if I want to root or not.
Do you think I should root? It will be better If i want more storage?
Is it safe? The Lollipop will be automatically installed after the root? I have no need on install other Android OS.
Thank you!
Hey! I can see that you are new here, but rooting your phone isnt gonna delete anything of your data if you search on this forum for Link2sd than you will find a tuturial for how to do that. But if you dont understand any of the words "Brick" or "fastboot" you should do some research first.
success!

Hello HelpMeruth! And thank you for replying my question!
Here's what I already searched this is , i've got alot of information already but the information I got says my phone will be formatted I think. Brick I remember that word a long time ago when the PSP Scene I know it's not android but I remember it, it's like having a non funcional phone, bricked.
Here's the guide I saw: (I can't post links, if you can search on the youtube : "Moto G 3rd Gen(2015) - How to Root - Unlock Bootloader & Custom Recovery") and tell me if that guide will not brick or format my moto g 3
Any chance of getting bricked? It will remove my SIM Service? I have the phone just for a week and the warranty it's 2 here's, If I root the warranty goes out, is it worth rooting?
Thanks for the reply sir and yes i'm really new in the android scene, just came from the iOS one, got mad at iOS
I can confirm that your phone will not be formatted
The word brick means that your phone wont start up.
Its a gamble for everyone to root, so when you are gonna do it try just booting Twrp. That is the safest way to test it.
But strart with unlocking your bootloader thats already a big step for rooting (unlocking bootloader will format your data!)
If you got any questions send me message!
Its your choise to root or not

You do NOT need to unlock bootloader in order to root.
You DO need to unlock your bootloader for TWRP, unless booted temporarily.

You shouldnt be able to root with a locked bootloader, i quote: 'A locked bootloader locks write access to several partitions like the system partition. This is the reason why rooting is not able without unlocked bootloader.' found on this site https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-main-differences-between-Rooting-and-Unlocking-Bootloader
that tool just has a build in fastboot/adb and automate things for you.
(sorry for my bad english)

Yeah after doing some research motorola devices seem to have that in place. I was speaking generally from a vanilla aosp aspect. Good find.

Installing cyanogenmod will still keep you on 5.1.1 your device will just be modified (custom tweaks etc..) so if you have to unlock your bootloader it will void any warranties you have. If you don't have one or don't care just make sure to read carefully as you sound relatively new to CM and you don't want to brick your device.

Yes it will be modified to cyanogenmod firmware right? So the firmware updates from MOTO G 3 I had installed will go resetted to the cyanogenmod firmware right?

Correct.
Cm12.1 is just 5.1.1 that's why I said it would.
You may see custom aosp 6.0 ROMs before any real factory builds.

My flex 2 h950 won't root

I've tried the one click root method and the command prompt method... Everything goes fine... But when the phone restarts... No root..... Can anyone help?
Search the General forum for the H950 PR KDZ ROM. Comes with full instructions on how to install, no bloat, and already rooted for you. One Click Root doesn't work because we have a locked bootloader.

It should be under the Verizon model. Usually tracfone does not lock the bootloaders on their variant. On another thread a guy flashed the verizon firmware to this model with no bricks and issue. but doing that WILL lock the bootloader. I hope he responds to my post. want to know to what extent it was flashed and if knox got tripped.

would you be able to show me the right direction to where he got the method to root his.? also if you learn anything else from him . can you let me know. so this mean I have an unlock bootloader? doesn't that mean I can root easier?

I should be able to get one of these mids august hopefully and will use it as a test device to see what bricks it and what hack can be done. In the past tracfone has release the SM-S975L(Tracfone Unlocked bootloader) which equals to an SGH-I337 (AT&T Locked bootloader), they released the S5 & S6 which equal to the SM-G900V and SM-G920V, both have Unlocked bootloaders. So i dnt think the S7 is any different and equals to the SM-G930V. Any root method that works for the SM-G930V should work on the SM-G930VL. But again this is just my say based on past experiences, i wont know until i get the phone and try all this. For what I know so far he was able to flash the complete verizon firmware which i think will flash a locked bootloader and no going back after it.
Yes will share my experiences.

So i was able to flash the full latest verizon firmware and fully ended up converting the phone to an SM-G930V. SO provided that you flash the firmware on which root was achieved for the SM-G930V, then there is really no stopping you from rooting this phone. As expected due to flashing the verizon firmware the phone has a locked bootloader now but root was achieved regardless.
Proceed at your own risk.
I have the Sm-g930vl (tracfone) and would like to confirm the bootloader is unlocked. I can boot into both recovery and download mode but cannot connect with fastboot to get device info. Is there another way to check?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if I can edit the build.prop with adb without rooting? I've never messed with Samsung. Seems a different beast.

I was hoping to enable hotspot. I've read where people have flashed the 930u firmware and can enable it but I'm already on Nougat even on tracfone firmware.

I see, the only way I see this working for you is by third apps or flash a firmware that supports it.

G710EM bootloader on US model G7 (ULM, VM, TM, PM)

From my understand of what was used in prior thread, a v35 engineering bootloader was loaded on G7 to allow an unlocked bootloader with Fastboot. Would something like this work using a G710EM bootloader as that model can be unlocked? Would it still require Octoplus or somehow possible using LGUP?

Ah ok. So is that the only way to load it on?
I found this:

I guess this is the only working solution we have at the moment to root the phone at this stage? Should work since I've got a G710EMW.
