Has anyone been able to get Google Assistant to say your name when you say "Ok Google
I've got my nickname setup, but it doesn't say my name like it did at Google I/O. Anyone know how to make this work?
Bring up Google assistant and say "how was my day"

When I say "Ok Google" and then "Take me to (name of a place or address)" the app always give me some search results based on that name, or that address, instead of starting Google Maps navigator... I really can't understand why! Everything works good but this ?
Just joined Google Fi. Is there any way to add "messages" to the google apps button?
Title says it all. I just left Google Voice for Google Fi and ported my GV number over.
Minor thing, but I miss having the function in gmail when I click on the google apps, then google voice, then it launches to web interface. I can't seem to find a similar setup for the messages for web app. Does this exist?
I realize I'm just lazy, but would be nice to have!

Following this. I haven't been able to.
I'm looking for some way to run google assistant instead of google now when I say the moto voice wakeup phrase (Ok google; Ok moto Z; etc).
The only thing I managed so far, is to install Automagic and configure a flow that launches google assistant when the google search application runs.
The flow has some conditions, so that google assistant doesn't run when I'm manually searching in google.
Unfortunately it is not perfect, because it doesn't automatically run google assistant with the screen off, you have to say the command "open assistant" to launch it, but if it works in any other situation
I'm still trying to modify the moto voice apk to change google now to google assistant by default, but I don't know enough about programming, so it's still a long way off.
if someone manages to make this work in some more efficient way and without third party applications it would be great to know.
So I d-googled my phone. WORKS GREAT - FAST!.
and now I am looking for some of the hands free features - a voice assistant.
Currently I use Alexa - (yup alexa on droid LOL) for the most part everything works as expected until you want to set appointments. You have to set a default calendar. But it only accepts M$, Google and a couple others. I cannot enter my own calendar.
So I checked out a few other personal assistants, it would seem they all have google attached to them. From sign in the assistant (which is moot since google has its own assistant) to various apps that are only used if they are google based.
Does anyone know of an android personal assistant that is void of google?
