I have tried that combination.. it's just loops to S7 screen..
I can boot to recovery but when I try to format factory it says: "mdm does not allow factory reset" and it reset and turn off..
Is it rooted witg custome recovery or stock recovery?
If it is with a custom, try transferring a rom over in mass storage, if not, then I'm out of ideas

Don't hold the power button, just home + volume down. Hold those two buttons down, it may reboot a couple times but it should eventually get into download mode.
If not, try home + volume up to get into recovery (stock or twrp, either should work.) From there, try factory reset.

There's an option to flash an update from sdcard in stock recovery. I think it needs to be an OTA update. Not entirely sure, but you could try doing a search for instructions on that.

I heard some people have broken power button where the power button is always in the "enabled" state, and that will cause volume buttons to not work. I wonder if you have the same issue though, if thats the case you will have to either replace the power button or send it to Samsung.
I don't have the Nexus S right now, but have to tried the command: adb reboot recovery. Also I thought you can boot directly into recovery by power + volume up.
If your power button is broken you are stuck there on that screen.
Does the phone boot up into the os? If so reboot into recovery from the os. If you flashed a ROM I assume its rooted. Can use any app that allows booting into recovery ( quickboot goomanger ROM manager ROM toolbox etc) or in terminal type such and hit enter. Then type reboot recovery and hit enter.

the problem is the i did a flash a rom and now the rom dont boot up or anything and i did a back up but i cant use the buttons to make a selection to get into recovery over the fast boot as i show in the picture!
the only way i get into the fastboot is holding the volume up and connect the usb into the port and them get into the fast boot screen but no more from there
That's what I figured. At that point you are pretty much screwed,
You need to get the power button to work / unstick so you can fastboot in order to do anything.
Hi there. Have you figure a solution. I ran into the EXACT SAME ****ty situation and samsung says they have no fix no parts for it!

Samsung can fix it if you send it. The solution is to get your power button repaired. There's nothing else to really do.

Unless they got the part, then it's a no. Every so said "solution" ends up failing, you're just pushing a bit the date. Only replacing it really works.
i have temp fix
this is what i did may be you can fix it like this
i take off the battery out,
place back
Hold down volume and power
now connect the usb cable from the pc
keep holding the buttons we dont need to go into bootloader, if you can see the lower lights on you okay
now check the usb icon in your computer and if your computer recognize you are cool
Now before i have this problem i did a back up of my rom and i install touch recovery
now you have to see your options and if you have the twr recovery even better since you can transfer files over your phone while in recovery mod
okay i did install this toolkit
Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475
and since my computer recognize the usb and my nexus phone
i did get into reboot recovery mode in the advanced utilities you can figure out the rest since i dont know much!
since i did a back up i just restored and i did flash another rom which let you wake up the phone by the volume key
so i transfer the rom files and flash then while on recovery mode try installing the goomanager to get into recovery since this means your power button dont work
this is the rom
CyberGR-MOD|NS.NGN ver. 14 Hybrid Mix ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
if you have luck flashing this rom
just go into CyberGR-MOD in the setting section and select lockscreen options and check volume wake
now to lock the phone just install any app from play store like Lock Screen Widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidmania.lockscreenwidget
and remember if you battery dies, just connect it into charger or usb cord and the phone ll boot again
Hope this help some of you who have this problem
thanks and any question i ll check later!
Basically, I flashed the wrong TWRP recovery onto my S6 which is running on the latest on android 6.0.1 and now its stuck in a bootloop. So I tried to go into download mode to flash its stock firmware using odin. But the problem is that when I go into download mode, I'm stuck on the warning screen because when I press my volume buttons nothing happens so I can't get to the actual download screen. I know that its nothing to do with the hardware because I've checked up on that already and I'm just wondering if anyone knows the solution to this issue.
Please help, it would be very much appreciated :crying:

Can you share a quick snap how your warning screen looks like? I suspect since your recovery is broken, it is directly going to download mode instead of asking for your confirmation (Volume up).

Haha no not yet. I'm guessing that there's no way to sort this problem out myself?
Hi,
today in the morning I couldn’t turn on my S7. It went off while charging overnight. Then I tried to hold the volume down and the power button together for twelve seconds and the S7 turned on. Unfortunately it just boots to the Samsung logo and nothing happens since then.
I wrote to the Samsung support and they told me to send it in. And they also said that I will lose my warranty if I make a hard reset. Is that true? Because the other thing is, that I really need some very important data from just one app. I already did a hard reset in the past and the data from this app didn’t get lost. I don’t know why (no cloud synchronization) but it worked. My plan was to try a hard reset but my phone is fully charged and I cannot turn it off to get into Recovery mode.
So basically I have three questions:
1. Will I lose my warranty if I do a hard reset?
2. Is there any possibility turn off my phone or to unload my battery? (And after that to try a hard reset.)
3. Does anyone have any idea how to save some date by any other way?
Thank you very much for any help!
Samsung are full of sh** if they told you you would lose warranty by performing a full reset, nothing of the sort
Warranty is checked by KNOX 0x0 = valid (Or 0x1 if it is tripped) which is only tripped by flashing something custom / rooting
Try booting into recovery and clearing only the caches, see if you can get back in that way
Otherwise, flashing the same stock ROM over the top with ODIN may work
Thank you for your answer.
Any idea how to boot into recovery mode? The problem is that in the moment I cannot turn off my phone and it's fully charged. I guess it would last some days to wait until the battery is empty. And unfortunately you can't remove the ****ing battery.

Volume up & Home & Power
Keep those buttons held in until the phone reboots, continue holding them and it should reboot a 2nd time, this time hopefully entering recovery
You can try the same for download mode, which is the same combo, only volume down instead of up

I did this combo. Following message did pop up:
"Warning

First i pressed the volume down button and then nothing happened and it booted again until the Samsung logo. In my second try I pressed the volume up button and now I am here (see attached pics).

OK, it's possible that recovery got corrupted then
Right, so grab a stock ROM from here
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=G930F
Extract and Load the .MD5 into ODIN AP section
Put the phone into download mode and hit start
It should reboot hopefully into a working OS
if not, try entering recovery again

No, as I said earlier, warranty is only affected if you flash something custom
Stock Samsung ROMs are not custom
For a very short time my phone startet adnroid, but everyhing was black und I just saw the notifications bar. I couldn't do anything. After that my phone did a reboot and now I am again at the Samsung logo. The combi with vol up still doesn't work.

You managed to download and flash a stock ROM in that short time?
Might need to flash the entire set of files from the ROM download in ODIN, which I think might reset the phone with one of them (HOME I think)
EDIT - Another option would be firmware recovery using SmartSwitch
http://www.samsung.com/uk/smart-switch/samsung-desktop-app.html
Good day.
Recently happened to me something similar, while i was playing, the phone rebooted and got stuck at samsung logo.
The phone was rooted, with TWRP and Xposed.
Really don't know what happened. At the time, in panic, i flashed a stock ROM and the phone never booted again. Just a blank screen and a blue led.
I sent my phone to Samsung for warranty and 1 month later (5 days ago), got it back working, even with KNOX 1x0.
In most of Europe, Samsung cannot charge you anything even if the phone was rooted, with the exception if it was root that directly caused the malfunction.
I am having the same problem. the combo with Vol up does not work. Any further help, PLEASE?
Guys I have a problem, I forgot the screen key, and now I do not know how to come back again, what I try to do is this:
1- I turn off the phone
2- I press the power button and it barely vibrates (or the LED goes off) I press VOLUME DOWN.
3. That takes me directly to the Bootloader (where I can see some htc information and little else)
4. After that I press volume down, until reboot to recovery, and there I get that

i can select too reboot to download and i get that
but whatever i enter on reboot to booloader the phone turn off and i get the bootloader menu, at this time i select REBOOT TO recovery
it appears that
and then this appears
And this is my problem here I can not enter the recovery mode, because remember that the htc u12 + can only press 1 button, that is, you CAN NOT PRESS POWER + VOLUME UP at the same time, I do not know what to do
The U12+ doesn't have a recovery mode. It uses the A/B partition scheme, similar to the Pixel and Pixel 2 devices. They don't use separate recovery partition, because the second system slot acts as essentially its recovery.
What do you need recovery for? TWRP isn't available for the device yet. And when it is it will be built in as a boot image.

Do you have an SD card? You can place the RUU zip file on the SD card and flash that from download mode.
RUU can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/how-to/collection-htcu-u12-ruu-firmware-t3794664
Follow the instructions in post 4 for using an SD card.
The other option is to just run the RUU from your computer, but that may require you to grant access from the phone, not sure.

Stock recovery
That's supposed to happen. Stock recovery doesn't allow you to make any modifications on the device itself. You need a custom recovery for that like TWRP, which unfortunately isn't available for the U12+ at the moment. But all you have to do to reboot the device from recovery mode is hold the power button until it reboots in to the system.

Also, download mode has replaced recovery mode on any device since the HTC One M9. Prior to the M9 you'd be able to reboot etc. From recovery mode. Which HTC changed with the M9.

Help, after OTA goes to P, I don't boot into recovery stock. Before the update to P this solution work. ( The screen stops at the red triangle )
Hi. I try to boot the device to recovery mode but unable to enter recovery mode I'm sure I did the right way as per YouTube a description but still unable. did Samsung change the way to enter recovery mode?
It would be better if you mentioned what exactly you did rather than say you did it correctly. I hope you might knowing, now a days you needs to keep device connected to PC while reboot to recovery.
Power off device , then connect USB C cable to device. I connect my SanDisk SSD to the other end off the cable. It should work also with USB C stick.
Push volume up and power button and hold them till your device boots in recovery mode.
If you connect your device to a laptop ,it may start charging, making it more difficult to enter recovery mode.

In this case, don't power off but connect device to PC and reboot device (force reboot (keep holdingvol down +power) if you are in bootloop ) as soon screen goes blank, hold power + vol up and you will be in twrp
Go into Magisk.

Still the same, simple operation on my SM-S980U1(Android12): turn off the phone, hold both vol+ and power until you see displayed 'Samsung' - let the power button go and after a few seconds(keep pressing vol+) you should see the recovery mode screen right away.
The problem was from the USB cable after changing the cable the device can boot normally to Recovery
Thanks for all I appreciate your responses

Install Magisk anyway. You don't need to root. The options in my post will appear anyway.

My S22 Ultra (still on Android 12) does not require a USB cable to enter recovery. Just hold down volume up and power when turning on the phone.

I never heard it since A12 except, If you flash recovery/CSC OR If you select to reboot to recovery from adb/magisk/TWRP then it auto rboot to TWRP without connecting to PC
In rest of normal condition it does.

Perhaps it is only for people who have TWRP then? OR only Exynos? I have unrooted Snapdragon, and no USB cable is needed to get into recovery.

I don't think so
Which version you have?
Try rebooting to recovery from device booted on system just with combo key and check

I have a factory unlocked S 22 Ultra, model SM-908U1.
Did it yesterday with only using the volume UP button and the power button, in order to clear system cache. Did it again just now. Worked fine, just as it did on Note 10+ and on Note 8, etc.
Turn off phone.
Hold down volume UP button, then hold down power button at the same time.
When "Galaxy" appears (after Samsung), let go of power, but keep holding down volume UP.
After a few more seconds, recovery menu appears.
Phone is stock, purchased a this week. On October 1, 2022 Security patch.
May be it's only on "U" version
