Pixel SAR value? - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Hello, can anyone look into manual and tell me what is the SAR value of Pixel (European version), please ?
I can´t find it on the internet.
Thank you very much!

0.92 W/kg at the ear, 0.58 W/kg when worn on the body out when using the WiFi hotspot fiction.

You also know you can get this on your phone right? Settings, about, regulatory labels.

Kind of obvious don't you think? What did you expect the One X to set off? The Y band?
On a more serious note I have no idea what is going on.

My in-dash Nav used to set off my X-band. I either had to disable X band on my detector (which actually was fine) or just setting the mode to "automatic" instead of city or highway and it would ignore it.
It doesn't matter now since most CA Highway patrol use Lidar now so my radar detector is useless (it detects lidar, but if you detect it then the police already have your speed).

Tunnels bounce around X-band like crazy, so any little thing putting off x-band in a tunnel would set off your detector.
Haha. Thanks for the responses. I was able to check it near my old radar detector. My HOX set it off too. In AR all the bears use K and Ka band.
RD's are not so much for speeding as they are or texting and driving.

Just got the One X and its driving me and my Valentine V1 crazy!!
Anyone know why?
I was thinking it was the NFC so I turned that off, but that didn't change anything.

Is GPS on your phone on?
Gps shouldn't have anything to do with it as it is just a receiver and does not broadcast anything.

I would think otherwise, it has to locate the GPS satellites.
So the phone is doing the work and not the satellites. They are only broadcasting their locations and the phone uses their locations to locate where you are.
This process probably could set off a radar detector. And I believe it does

Any receiver that uses a local oscillator "broadcasts" its local oscillator as well as various other spurious and harmonic signals. Not powerful but doesn't need to be if it's in close proximity to another receiver tuned to one of those spu's.

[Q] Hardware Repair - No Service

I smashed the screen on my HTC One XL and am in the process of replacing it. The new screen is installed, all the connectors are inserted correctly, but I haven't put the backplate back on yet.
I know that the screen is working fine, as I can turn the phone on and use the touchscreen. The wifi is also connecting nicely. However, the phone doesn't connect to the phone network and has a 'No Service' error message. It recognises the SIM card, so that's not the problem.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix this?
Double check every single one of your connections.

I already have.
But which connection would it be? If I'm not mistaken, the cellular signal antenna is on the same chip as the Wifi. So how can the wifi work without the cellular?

If I'm not mistaken there should be a ton of metal connections on the backplate, maybe one of those is the antenna?

You mean I'd need to install the backplate to get the antenna to work? I can't see anything that looks like an antenna, but it's possible.

That's what I'm thinking. If you didn't miss any of the antenna connectors the only real option is to reassemble the phone and try it.

Yes! It did.
I think the antenna is the contact on the top-right side of the backplate.
Except now the earpiece speaker isn't working.
Anyone have any idea what could be going wrong there?

:thumbup:What is Fast Dormancy?
Fast Dormancy is a relatively recent technology that is aimed at saving battery life on your phone as well as reducing congestion on mobile networks. Essentially when your phone stops submitting data, it waits for a message from the mobile network telling it to close the connection. On some phones you might notice this is when the H or H+ symbol becomes a 3 or 3G symbol. Essentially its a fast way of making the mobile data connection become dormant, thus saving battery. Many recent devices, including the Samsung Galaxy SIII support Fast Dormancy and in general that is a good thing.*
Why on earth would I want to disable it then?
Even though Fast Dormancy sounds like a brilliant idea (and it is) some mobile networks choose not to implement it citing reasons such as cost and network congestion (I call bs on this one though). Unfortunately if Fast Dormancy is not supported by your network and it is enabled on your phone it can cause problems.

Just to chime in: T-Mobile Croatia (from what I've heard) does NOT support it. Will check it out in more detail and report back.
EDIT: this app is also available on Google Play. Can you confirm it works? How much battery gain did you notice?

You can check if your operator supports "fd" by disabling FD first and then using command *#0011#. If field "rrc state" shows state PCH and not idle then you can keep FD disabled.
Cheers
P/S: i copied this from another forum.

My phone, with FD enabled, says RRC: IDLE, Band1.
With FD disabled, it's the same, so I reckon it has no effect.
The app is called FastDormancy Toggle, made by Gokhan Moral, available for free on the Play Store.

Did you restart the phone after changing fd?
Fd off: DCH (H+) --> (3G) FACH, after ca 1 minute changing to IDLE
Fd on: DCH --> IDLE
Does FD work on my network?

Well, I disabled fast dormancy with Gokhan's app, but I still see fast dormancy wakelocks in BBS. Odd.
I might have to check into this feature a bit more.

[Help] [cm12.1] Nfc Smart lock

Hi,
I'm on CM12.1 Nightlies, and I'm looking into the Smart lock features. I've added an NFC tag to the trusted devices, but I don't really understand how it works now...
I expected to be able to scan my tag when screen is locked, to easily unlock it, but when I do nothing happens, like if NFC weren't even enabled when screen locked (if that's the case it's stupid to even let me select a NFC trusted device, right?)
Anyone know how NFC trusted devices is intended to work in CM12.1?
Anything more I should look at?
Btw. I'm using AK kernel 300, not sure it can have anything to do here...
Any help or pointer is much appreciated. TIA.

Any more info about how that works? After digging a bit more into it in Google I found that the phone must already be unlocked, and must stay on top of the NFC tag, which is not at all what I expected and... Well, in my case worthless.
I'd value a lot more Trusted Wifi, which for whatever dumb reason Google hasn't thought useful to develop apparently (nor anybody contributing to CM unfortunately ?).
