What Bluetooth codecs does it support? - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Apparently the Pixel doesn't support AptX, which is a shame. Does that mean it only connects to wireless headphones using the poor SBC?

it should support AptX, but I just tried using my own headphones and it did not work. it only connected as SBC.

Can be a problem of Cm11s?
What year is your golf? And what bluetooth module and radio do you have? My gti is a 2010 and updated my Bluetooth module to a 9w7 from a 9w3. I have the RNS-510 navigation (big screen). I know some people have issues with the non touch screen radios and Bluetooth.

Ok thanks!!
My OPO (38R) don't work with connected drive. I can go to the internet but BMW online don't work (the request page not found).
It's don't work with LTE but it work if my OPO have and WIFI connection... I try with another rom (slim kat and CM11) and I have the same issues.
BMW online work very nice with my SIII with HDSPA connection.
Only BMW online doesn't work, I can play music in bluetooth, phone with the car and go to the internet.
Mine paired in my e90 non-idrive via bluetooth. Just had to erase my old phone.
Hey does music work through iDrive, with a bluetooth paired OPO ?

Hey does music work with a bluetooth paired OPO ?

Xperia E3 - Headphones is not working.

Just bought E3 3 days ago and I found that sometimes when listening to the music using headset, there was not sound at all. I had to press play/stop many times. Does anyone meet this bug? I tried with MH750 and MH410 but the bug is still there.
My device: D2202
Yes absolutely the same problem I am encountering with. Lets wait for the next update of walkman. I'm just tired of this thing. My walkman version is 8.4.A.5.4
Sent from my D2202 using XDA Free mobile app
Fixed accidentally on a Russian forum - just plug your headphones tighter. That's it. Meaning apply more pressure while pushing the headphones jack in.

AAC Bluetooth mod

I'm a recent proud owner of the P20 Pro.
Fabulous device EXCEPT for the Bluetooth.
Reason being, I own a pair of Sony WF-1000X that uses the AAC codec. But it seems that the AAC codec is not supported on the phone and the audio-video is severely out of sync. I emailed Huawei asking about this and they said the phone only supports APTX, APTX-HD, LDAC and HWA. My impression is that Oreo supports AAC but it is not the case with the P20 pro. In development settings, even selecting the AAC settings do not stay.
My question is whether flashing magisk along with the audio modification library or viper4android help in getting the AAC codec installed?
It does support.

I know it's in the developer settings. But when you select it, it doesn't stay. It defaults back to SBC.
Do you have this issue?

Hmm i have both the WF and WI 1000x as you can see the WI connects via LDAC but it shows sbc for the other. I do remember prior to the recent update it did used in say AAC but yeah looks like SBC :/
Yes there is a issue with stock ROMs that makes it stick to SBC for whatever reason. I flashed lineage today and now it's on AAC.
It seems their own freebuds does not support aptx as well. It defaults to SBC. is it a firmware issue?
how can we report this bug?

According to the Huawei specs on the P20 pro we can only expect the following codecs
aptX™, aptX™ HD, LDAC and HWA

They might provide AAC in a future update but I wouldn't hold your breath.
the only option that can be marked is the sbc audio codec
all the other cant be selected.

I believed they have disabled the other codecs in the freebuds. We will have to wait for them to provide a firmware update to see what happens.

If this HUAWEI Sport Headphones support aptx, i see no reason why the free buds do not.
https://consumer.huawei.com/en/accessories/sport-headphones/
This is my one annoyance with the P20 Pro, the free Bose headphones that was part of the pre-order also remains on SBC and doesn't switch to AAC. My budget £40 ones support APT-X and works with that but rather use the Bose for obvious reasons.
I reported to Huawei and got a case number, that was two months ago. Don't hold your breath. It really saddens and angers me when any phone manufacturer can't be bothered to resolve the issues when reported to them.

On 131 firmware, AAC works fine. I can switch between it and SBC and it stays on whichever is chosen. The audio also has a brief pause when it's changing codecs, so it's definitely working. (This is with Jabra Elite 65t's.) It defaults to AAC.
I am on C432B131. I tried to change to AAC but do not stick on. Whatever I select, it doesn't move to any other options other than SBC.

Same for me and on my JBL headset I have nothing but stuttering and cutouts. This is crap! And, it's impossible to change codec. It reverts to SBC no matter what.

Good news!!! YES! Everything OTG works great! The palm comes with OTG enabled out-of-the-box. I'd recommend just using bluetooth headphones though- much more convenient.
