Is there enough differences in the various carrier variants to justify it?
Main thing will be that t-mobile is probably bootloader unlockable and the others (us carriers) probably aren't. (we'll see) Leads to confusion when it comes to development..
Sent from my awesome T-Mobile LG V10!
XDA please make a section for Tmobile we do not need to be in the international forums all Tmobile users should be getting their devices. I know i ordered mine and my friends ordered theirs on Monday and we all got them yesterday so you can image how many users have their devices now on TMobile please make the section as it is needed.

Unless an owner of an LG V20 from AT&T, Verizon, Sprint (if), or other minor carriers say that their bootloaders can be unlocked. I agree with @ice5192 . Because now there are more chances for the Tmobile variant of getting root than any other variant. and to try to find the thread when there are many other threads going on and being constantly updated because of comments, well, the root section goes from page 1 to page 2 or further away and then it kind of.... gets forgotten. (even though i doubt it lol)
If the T-Mo version gets rooted, there should definitely be a separate area.

Unlocked and maybe root = Own section!
For those that got your V20 from T-Mobile. Did you get a headset or a Micro USB to USB C adapter? I noticed in all the open box videos, they showed both and I didn't get a headset nor a Micro USB to USB C adapter. Thansk

You have to google lg v20 promos and find the link on the page for your carrier. Then on the 10/28th you'll have to submit a submission for the b&o h3 earbuds. The only people that got the wrapped were reviewers. Us consumers have to submit for the promo and wait lol

Use a micro sim adapter. Then you can use any phone. Problem solved.

Hi,
Wonder if anyone has tried the D838 model in the UK? I'm on the T-Mobile/EE network but not too bothered about 4G.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi John,
I've had a D838 model in the UK for the past fortnight, imported from Hong Long. Haven't used the 4G because I'm on GiffGaff, which uses the O2 network, and the D838 can't get 4G on the bandwidth they have (I'm switching to Three very soon though, which should solve that "problem").
But mine works absolutely fine here, no problems whatsoever. Switched from a Note 2, which I'd had for almost two years - that was the best phone I'd ever had, but the G Pro 2 is substantially better - even the infra-red controller works perfectly (which, for some reason, I didn't expect)!
It's a fantastic phone!
Only downside at the moment is a lack of easy root for the phone, but no doubt that will come.
Any particular questions you had??

Hi
Thanks very much for your reply. That certainly helps.
Where did you get yours from and what did you pay for it?
I'm still in two minds as to whether to wait for the D837 European model as the frequency coverage might be better suited to the UK and any travel in Europe.
Also, just wondering if LG might up the spec on the D837.
Thanks, John.

Bought mine from eBay for £478 - couldn't wait for the D837, which (as far as I'm aware) still hasn't been confirmed for the UK...
Hi all..does this mean that the d838 will work fine in using 3g nd 4G on ee ? I'm also wanting to buy this phone...there is a eBay seller based in the UK that stock these..best price i can find is £395 with free delivery I'll will try nd share the link on here

I've used mine on Giffgaff (which piggybacks on the O2 network) but now switched to Three so I can use 4G (the D838 won't work with O2's 4G network, but does work with Three's).
Calls and data have all worked absolutely fine on both networks - not a single problem.
EE's 4G works on the 1800MHz band, which the D838 can use.
One small warning about buying at that price - be careful you don't get hit with customs charges. I bought mine at £478 because they guaranteed no customs charges (it was sent to a UK address, then sent to me from there), but I bought a previous phone nice and cheap from HK and had to pay about £60 to customs, which meant it was no cheaper!

I'm with Three and I didn't have to change anything. Used 4G for the first time last night - jeez, that's fast!!! :good:
In fact, thinking about it, I haven't had to change any settings, except to disable Taiwanese language in the keyboard.
How are you finding the D838 on EE?
Thinking hard about getting one and don't know whether to wait for the D837.
Not too worried about 4g at the moment as their H+ is fast enough for me currently
Cheers
I'm also in this situation too, thinking i should wait for the D837 variant just for the added 800MHz band (as EE will soon use that too), the D838 version is already well less than £400 from UK sellers on ebay.
What is LG delaying for i wonder? If Motorola release a decent phablet before the D837 comes out, I could be swayed to that model.
I've just bought a new one on eBay from a UK seller for £320. I'm on EE but don't have 4g in my area. I'll keep you guys posted after I receive it tomorrow.
I'm rather hoping that everything works as it should as it looks an awesome device. I'm coming from the G2. ?

I have my concerns but I'm really hoping that it works well in this country. The device looks awesome, I was going to look at the G3 but if this one doesn't have any localisation issues then I will be a very happy man. I had never even considered LG devices until I bought the G2 on a whim in January and have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised with the quality (and value) that they provide.
All being well I'll be able to hold my head up high again next to my wife's Note 3.
The G Pro 2 works fine in the UK.
The only thing that doesn't work is QVoice, but seeing as no one cares about it then it doesn't matter one bit.
Still a bit puzzled why LG never released the D837 at all though.

Received my Taiwanese D838 yesterday put my EE sim card and 64gb micro sd in it then booted up. No issues at all, just like I'd bought a UK device. Set my languages to English UK of course. Wow, don't know what I was worried about what a great device and to cap it all, I plugged it into the LG PC Suite and updated from 10e to 10f without an issue. For anybody in the same boat as me, just get one, you won't regret it.
Great news. Tempting, tempting, tempting.
It has the option for recent apps button in the nav bar doesn't it? [

The mexico model should be good to go here in the states and be unlocked. I would also be interesting in a 32gb model. If someone has an address in mexico we can ship to and then ship it back to use here...thats all we would need

Is that because you have one in hand or just from the motorola.mx website? I chatted with the motorola latin america support and they said at the moment only the single sim version is available. If you go through motomaker it makes no mention of dual sim, nor in the any of the description content. You only see dual nanoSIM in the specs.

I am interested in that too because i am struggeling with the same issue. The watch I have is an unlocked Korean version with a Tk telecom branding.
Maybe there is a complete neutral firmware for the LTE, that allows the connections of an ESIM via Gear App, as it was allowed with the Gear S2?
GrandMasterPlank. Not really tried yet, to get it working. Got it off Ebay, the same as Pixmixa the Tk telecom branded one. Think it will work has the same radio's as the Gear S2, that O2 were selling for a short time last year. But do not know if any mobile network will connect it, and how helpful they would be. Got this one because it has the possibility to connect to the mobile phone network, not sure if it ever will. But a least it can make an emergency call if i need to, not tried but said I can.
UK networks don't support esims at the moment so I doubt you'll get it to work

Vodafone Germany still offers the previous S2 and shows how the activtion process works. Here you can see:
vodafone.de/hilfe/samsung/gear-s2.html#so-aktivieren-sie-das-esim-profil-fuer-die-samsung-gear-s2-classic-3g-smartwatch
(Please fullfilll the beginning of the URL, I am not allowed to post Links.)
Unfortunately, the app does not offer the menu for the S3 But its at least just a software issue, isnt it?
Pixmixa I have seen the same video, somewhere online, in english. Here is my best guess what appends the Usim/esim need to be registered on the mobile network. When you turn the S3 on it looks for a uk ICCID which is listed under Gear info/About device the first bit 898205 is for the country eg it is set for Korea. This need to be changed, which might be possible as the is a small slot at the bottom of the watch. Looks like a micro usb connection, which i have read on XDA developer is used to reprogram the esim. esims must work in the UK because the Gear S2 was being sold by O2, and i spoke to someone at O2, who phoned someone he worked with who a bought the (o2.co.uk/shop/smartwatches/samsung/gear-s2-classic-3g/). Got a QR code with it and was using it to make and receive calls.

Thank you, that is very interesting information. And you are right, there is a small docking port hidden under a plastic cap close to the wrist at the S3 too. Do you have any further information concering the reprogramming process? Maybe the process for S2 and S3 ist the same and someone who can do it for S2 can do it fo the S3 as well.
Is the docking port a micro usb connection? Not taken the plug out on mine. I was hope some Xda expert would know how to reprogram the esim.

Less bands on the China variant no 66 and 71 if you plan to use it with T-mobile. Probably better on AT&T if someone else can confirm. T mobile will probably work fine for the most part with a few dead spots
Indeed, make sure you buy a version that fits your carriers' bands.
Verify the seller first before buying that Product. Do look at the reviews also!!!
I bought 4 oneplus devices ( 1, 3t, 6, 7t) from Ali. No issues! Good prices
if you can find someone help you register a local Taobao account, that would be even better. You can get much better price, though shipping could be a problem. Ali can help you buy a lot of different products. I also bought part for laptops just for repair and refurbish.

Does flashing the modem unlock more lte bands?

It should be the same exact modem I would assume? So it would simply be software on said modem that would unlock the bands. You can flash the Tmobile modem to the international build and vice versa so I don't see why you couldn't here... There aren't any RSA checks like in other phones, like LG and Sammy.
If there ARE hardware differences, then it wouldn't work but I don't think there are any.
Can someone more knowledgeable help us out here?
