I've been trying to use a macro creating app on my phone that was operated using buttons that were supposed to appear on the side of my screen but didn't. I've tried using it on my tablet and on a phone of a friend of mine and it works without any issues whatsoever. Any thoughts?

I don't think that is the problem because my mate's screen is smaller than mine but if it helps in any way its 5 inches 1980x1080

well, by 5 inches it doesnt say much, as my pphone at the moment is 5.2 inches, but has a resolution of 600x900(lol). but your resolution is good, so it probably isnt the issue

Hey everyone,
I just noticed something weird on the screen of my xoom (with the screen off it's much more visible). I can see some strange "squares" filling the whole screen when looking at it from a low angle and I can't remember if it was there since I got th device... so I don't know wheter it's normal or not. Do you see such signs on your xoom too?? Or should I ask for a replacing unit? Mmm.
What I see looks slightly like this: h**p://ny-image0.etsy.com/il_170x135.214590012.jpg (sorry, can't post external links yet)
I hope someone can help me
Thanks!
Yuvi
I havnt seen your picture but does it look like its image, as in displayed on the pixels or physical. It could st be the mesh of te touch panel, for e.g. on my desire I can see a diamond shaped mesh in sun light. Can't see anything on my xoom screen though, but its got the crappy factory screen cover on still.
Macbots drool as I XOOM through the Galaxy to my hearts Desire on the back of a Droid.
Yeah it's there on mine too, I also noticed it when I first got it. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I'm assuming it's related to the capacitive screen.
Its the touch screen digitizer.

Thanks for the info. Do you think then that it's normal that it's visible?
I searched around and found this link h**p://ezinearticles.com/?Touchscreen-Digitizer---Symptoms-and-Cheap-Replacements&id=6047548 where it says:
Usually, the digitizer is not visible unless the screen has been damaged or cracked.

It's normal that you should see a glint of it in light, don't worry about it, nothing wrong with it unless u can see it straight on in any light.

We have 4 Xoom's in our office and you can see it on all of them when the screen is off - and the light is on. But we are software developers, we live in the dark so it's hard to see most of the time.
I recently bought a Nexus 5 32 GB Black from Google Play Store India. I find an issue with the display. I can see horizontal lines on the display on looking closer to the screen. Anyone else facing similar issue? Just wanted to be sure that the issue is with my device only before requesting for RMA. It really can't be captured on a camera, but if anyone has seen it already, they should be able to know what I am talking about.

Thats just the LCD panel behind the glass. My HTC One had that, as well as my nexus 4.

So, are we supposed to live with that?
I just verified my friend's Nexus 4 and did not notice this issue.
well its not a problem when the screen is on.. The only time you can notice it is if your looking at it in a certain angle in a certain light lol.

I see it all the time. It is clearly visible on white and light backgrounds.
I've got them too. You can see them very prominently in the orange part of the wallpaper. Sorry about the orientation/Quality. Taken with my Nexus 7. x)
Thank you for making this topic! I have the same issue and I was wondering if it's just me. I can see the horizontal lines without even looking at the screen up close. I haven't had a chance to compare it with anything else though... I'm sending in my device for RMA due to the power button, I can report back in about 10 days if the new device has the same issue (if you want).
Using the same wallpaper, I don't see these lines on my device. I would definitely send it back for a replacement.

Yeah I don't think that's normal. I don't have those lines either.

I notice this as well. I never saw this with my previous phone (iphone 4s). Is this a defect?
Visible lines like that on the LCD is a defect.

Same issue for me.
No horizontal lines on display here (310K)
Yeah... I don't see like that on my nexus 5. I think your screen is defected.

I know this post is old, but I purchased a N5 a few days ago, and I found the same issue as you describe. It´s not like the image hakim1125 posted, is something more subtle, like grey horizontal lines all across the dislplay, right? In my case the lines are even visible at normal usage distance. So, is this supposed to be normal? Have you exchanged yours for a new one?
Sorry for my english.

I would do RMA, the problem is I bought the device in the US, and I live in Argentina. So I guess I´ll have to live with it.
I made an image with photoshop that illustrates the issue some of us are talking about. (See image below)
Specially on white or light backgrounds...It is barely noticable when viewing the screen at normal distance (you have to look for it), but is visible with the phone at a closer distance (about 6 inches)
Thanks for your help.

Oh mann. That's terrible. I guess you will need to live with it. However, I would still recommend showing it to a LG service center. It could also be a faulty/loose cable and if that's the case, you need not cough up much money to fix it.
Hi everybody,
Before I ordered my nexus 5 i 32gb read this
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Nexu...h-new-speaker-grill-and-fixed-Buttons_id50321
And receiving the old Revision with the smaller speaker grill and wobbly Buttons TODAY is a slap in the Face.
What would you do??? Should i Sent it back? Is there a Chance of getting a new Revision 32gb black Model?!

Again, not every single screen is made equal and it would not be cost-effective (or effective in any way for LG) to calibrate them all individually. If you use a custom kernel there are ways to calibrate it yourself.

Can i ask what device you came from ? I actually like the stock colours, they are pretty accurate, its a warmer display .. if you came from a Samsung device it might seem too yellow, but thats because AMOLED screens are generally cold displays

Hmm... You are actually right. I have a samsung S3. Its a bit colder and of Course Not as bright as the nexus. But still i have a iPad mini and it is also an IPS Display and the colors are also much more colder. In fact for me it Seems to be more accurate.
Hello.
I reccently bought a NVIDIA Shield Tablet, and after 2 days i had it replaced becase the screen kind of had a "brownish" color tone on one of the bezels. The new one they gave me does not have that problem but the screen is different. When turned off you can see kind of a squared patern on it, and when on you can see that patern on some viewing angles. Is this possible?
Hope to get a quick awnser so i can present this complaint on the seller.
I'm pretty sure you're talking about the digitizer matrix. Is it really visible under bright light at about a 45°angle. Lots of little horizontal striations as well reflecting off the glass?

That's it. But the first one i got, i'm 99% sure it didn't had that. I believe it was a more recent model because it already came with lollypop instaled.
But tell me is it normal that screen on the Shield?
Thanks

Hi,
Is anyone seeing an issue where there is a bright line on the screen when trying to press? I think it is similar to the issue others have reported on the android 11, although this is not just a sensitivity thing. It is a bright line and even when you release the press, you can see it..
See attached pictures..
Thanks for any insight!

That looks like hardware screen damage to me. Easiest way to tell if you take a screen shot and you cant see the line then its hardware...

Yes you are correct. When I do a screenshot it does not show the issue..
Wonder if Google covers this under their warranty..

Then its hardware. Good luck trying to conveince Google that its a hardware default, im pretty sure they will basically say that you broke it...
I had a similar issue 3 days after receiving it, since it never fell or had a single scratch, Google replaced it with a brand new one. I'm not sure what will happen if it's older than 14 days, maybe they will fix it instead of replacing.
