I bought those new headphones and would like the controls to work but I'm not sure if its a custom ROM thing or what. Is there a flashable to get the volume up button to work or is that an issue with the ROM? I've tried a few ROMs and all have the same issue
I tried searching too but kept getting stuff about icon packs
Problem is that when I try hitting the volume up button, it will not do anything but the volume down button works fine and the play/pause work fine. Is there a setting somewhere? Thanks in advance

I will give it a shot possibly ttomorrow. Thanks... I'm sure it will work
No. This does not work. Non of the buttons work on the phone now. Power button, capacitive buttons, volume buttons... Or the headphone buttons. I luckily made a backup
So again, anyone have a fix for this?
So you did something wrong...
Probably wrong chmod after file replace.

Ha, at least you can do it modifying a simple file! It looks like I'm going to have to write some C code and maybe compile my own kernel to get done what I want done:

Good luck!
So for those of you that have ICS up and going on your skyrockets... What do you think so far?
I personally am seeing more responsiveness of my device. On GB it was a little sluggish and then I kinda got used to it, and now that I have ICS it's so much better. Apex Launcher is WOW on it.
My battery has lasted much, much longer too, and I've been doing tons of stuff on it this morning.
Can't wait for a rom based on stock ICS.
i like it but my home button wont work even after reodining and factory resetting any ideas
I love it,, what are some great ICS optimize launchers..? Like nova?

Can you guys download anything from the market?
Working now...not sure what the issue was...
A couple notes
1. I can't figure out how to take a screenshot now.
2. What's the home button problem? Like...in an app and hit home and nothing happens? Or can't use the home button to enter into d/l mode to flash CWM?
I have the latter; I can't enter into d/l mode to flash CWM now.
Edit: Wait...I might have it now. D/l mode, that is.
Edit: N/m. That was stock recovery. Any ideas how to get into d/l mode so I can flash CWM?

The other thread pointed out that taking a screenshot on ICS is done by holding one of the volume buttons along with the power button. So it's change from the home button in GB to the volume button in ICS.

I have to use XpressConnect to connect to my work WiFi and when I d/l'd it, it was from Market and didn't stick. Then updated to Play, d/l'd again and everything is kosher.
Just having issues getting into D/l mode again to flash CWM.
Were any of you experiencing bluetooth connection problems? I am suffering from the well reported issue of intermittent bluetooth connections and drops.
Im curious/helpful that ICS may fix this issue...

Yeah, I read that on another forum as well but all it does is make my volume go up or down, depending on which volume button I hit. lol
Does it work for you?
Edit: NVM. Got it. Volume down + Power. A little finicky at first, it seems.
Power off and Restart from Device options menu are not working for me, they just hang and I have to pull battery. Otherwise everything else seems to be working.
Powering down phone freezes. And the market is constantly force closing. I have tried fixing permissions. Reflashing. Not in that order of course. Nothing is working for me.

My market was giving me issues, but it started working better once I flashed the newest Play Store apk.
can anybody post a video of it?
Has anyone been able to compile this as a cwm flashable for us Rogers users?
Ok so normally if a phone were to freeze up or something happend you just pull the battery and then put it back in and start it up... is there a button combination or something that no matter what will alwaya restart the phone?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
volume up AND down AND power will force a reboot
Wrong
In official user manual on page 180 is that the when not responding press power button for 10 seconds then release to restart the phone

Your method works because you are holding the power button. The volume keys have nothing to do with it you don't have to press them.

I'm having the worst trouble with my nexus S's search button triggering all the time. Sometimes it seems that its just being overly sensitive like my finger brushes along the bottom of the phone while I type / hold the phone. And the button activates.
Its horribly irritating its pretty well documented as an old issue but I would like to possibly start this topic here on xda. Someone mentioned a software fix for it triggering by itself in some legacy version of android. But if there is anyone who has a fix please let me know I've had to exit the search bar about 10x while writing this.

Disable touch capacitive buttons (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554111&page=6) and install a rom with on screen buttons (Cyborg or aokp)...use kernal with bln to take off the lights
I did this to fix the auto back button firing
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
I wonder what causes it I mean if its just open the phone up and clean it or something I don't really have a problem with it.
Could you possibly paste a recent link to the rom if that's not too much to ask.
Also did you ever manage to figure out why it was happening?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
Its in the general forum aokp b38
Some people say its a software-hardware problem...some people send it off for screen replacement and it fixed it...but I didn't want to send it so I just mod it like this and its working awesome
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
OK awesome I really don't want to have to send it because I like the amoled screen. There is a forum post that says there is a fix in one of the ota updates don't know what it was exactly though I'll try and find it and report back.

Try this and remap the button....

Also install this if needed Keynrtracker: http://db.tt/r6ht9PyT

I'll try this first since I'm trying to stick with my hsdpa uncaoped radio with the matr1x kernel and the crossbones rom and voodoo sound and video.
------------------
Edit: it would appear that the first file "key remapper " worked great and all I needed was root no losing screen space or flashing a new rom. I just remapped key 217 (search key) to the camera focus function. Which shouldn't bother me too much.

GLAD TO HELP...
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2
Hello to everyone reading this.
I just purchased a used HTC One X. I managed to work out everything that was wrong with it (including the wifi problem some HOX phones have) but I'm getting really frustrated with the non-functioning properly volume buttons.
The phone volume gets turned up spontaneously and I have to press volume down repeatedly to stop it from going up again.
I was just wondering if there is any app (or any other way) that disables the volume hard-buttons because it's really gotten an annoyance by now.
I have tried several apps that "save" your volume settings and revert it right after it's changed by the faulty volume buttons. But the volume changing doesn't stop unless I press Volume Down myself. It just keeps going up and the app reverting it back down again.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
