Hi all, I just received a used AT&T 4g S2 today. The seller removed the watch from his account today. When I called to add it to my account, the rep said that it could not because sim is already being used. The IMEI is clean as verified through AT&T. Does it take a few days or hours for the electronic sim to reset or am I SOL? Thanks
I had to do a new SIM card request from T Mobile. Which was just to give me a SIM for a new number and then transfer that to the eSIM in the gear s2.

So I just call AT&T and ask them to assign me a new sim card with number and transfer that to the eSim? I'm not sure if that's possible with AT&T. The store wouldn't even help me today.
That's essentially how t mobile helped me in store. I would hope that AT&T would be able to do the same. Try calling customer care and see what they say

I have a GS4 GPe being delivered to my house soon. Sorry for the stupid question, but does anyone know if, to activate it on Tmobile, I can do it all online from home, or I will need to go in to a retail location? Thanks.
You need to have the proper SIM card and probably an activation kit. If you have that you can do it all over the phone. I've never been in a T-Mobile store but this is my second phone on their network.

Thanks. I'll probably just go in then, assuming the box from Google won't contain all that hardware you mention, plus I need to port over a number from other carrier and imagine it's easier to prove I own that number in person...
I just activated one on Straight Talk using their T-Mobile SIM. Ordered and activated on the website. You can port your number too.
How does activation work once I get my device? I've never bought an unlocked phone. Do I just have to take it to a Sprint store? Thanks!

that's a tough one. I might would have waited and bought it straight from Sprint. But you could try doing the activate new device feature online, if that doesn't work you could walk it in the store

I wasn't sure about this either so I'm going to have to wait until Nov 8th when sprint has them in stock. would assume all you would have to do is go into a sprint store and have them activate it for you. You most likely will have to purchase a sim card from them to be able to use any kind of data
Okay. Is it possible that my Galaxy S4 SIM card will work with it once activated?

If you look down at the bottom of that article where it says "Update", they talk about a Sprint representative saying there there should be no problems activating devices purchased from the Google Play Store.

You can activate it online or in store. The SIM card is only for international use, but yes. You can move the SIM from the S4 to the N5.

I thought the SIM card was for LTE service...
You'll probably be able to do it thru the website... Well i'm going to try once my N5 arrives.
sim is for Sprint LTE authentication and gsm/international roaming. I assume we will activate as usual.
the big question is if sprint is going to start allowing us to swap sims between devices rather then having to activate each time.
I am a manager at a sprint store. The only difference between the play store version and the one from sprint directly is that the play store one doesn't come with a Sim card that is needed to activate the phone on the sprint network. We were advised today that anyone purchasing the phone from the play store should be directed to a sprint service and repair center as they will have the cards needed to identify the device on the sprint network. Hope this helps!

So if I'm going from another LTE Sprint phone to a Nexus 5. Would it be best to use the same sim card or get one at the Sprint store?
My understanding is that it is a special card for the Nexus 5 they will be in stores by 11-8 at the very latest.

that actually really sucks. I don't want to have to hunt down a sim card just to activate my new phone.

gotcha.... I just don't see to many stores actually receiving these on time.
I'm thinking about switching to this from the S4. I'm not eligible for an upgrade. Do you know if Sprint would still let me trade my S4 in? If not, what's the best way to go about this? I'm not big into Craigslist.

Stores will get them just fine.
If you are looking to upgrade check with your local store and see what they can do for you. There is the 1 up program

I'm in the same boat with my evo lte... I doubt Sprint will let you trade if you're not eligible for an upgrade (or would at least make you renew), so I'm planning to just sell mine after I get the n5. Some people around here have vouched for Swappa and the evo lte is going for a decent price on there so that's probably what I'll do. Looks like you could get close to 400 for a Sprint s4 in good condition

Hello all,
Has anyone here actually activated their 32GB Nexus 5 on the Sprint network yet?
Both my device and CZ2102LWR SIMCARD LTEGSM 3FF USIM have shipped.
I have read on S4GRU that even if you have all your ducks in a row you still cannot activate until the 8th.
It would appear the MEIDs for the cards being shipped are not in the Sprint database yet?
Is this a rumor, speculation or fact?
Anyone...?
i got my sim card in the mail today but my phone doesnt come in tomorrow. i will let you know what happens when i activate it

Have you tried the SIM from your S4 yet?
I have the HTC One, and if I can just use the SIM from my current phone, that would be amazing!! I've been with Sprint forever, so I am not all that familiar with SIMs, haha
I dont think you can use a sim card from a s4 or htc one if its been activated on that device already.

I will be receiving my phone tomorrow, I tried getting a SIM from sprint and they have sent one, but it will take 3-5 business days to receive. So, went to apple store and got one SIM from them.
Hoping I can use that sim in Nexus 5.

Where did you see this? I'm at the point of pulling my hair out because I can't get the thing activated.
Got mine today, Sprint wont activate until Nov 8th.
Some how I wont be surprised if they won't activate the phones bought from the play store.
Thankfully I got a tmo prepaid sim so I can actually use my phone.

Sprint representatives have confirmed that they will activate them on Sprint in Sprint Community forums, so I wouldn't worried there. I am a little surprised that they won't activate them until the 8th though.

I'm multitasking at work and don't have time to hunt it down, but if you browse the Sprint forums on their website and search for Nexus 5, you'll see plenty of posts where Sprint representatives have confirmed that the Play Store version will work on Sprint. Basically, we're at the point now that we know they will work, it's just that Sprint needs to get their crap together because they weren't prepared for people to start trying to activate them this early.
I've already contacted Sprint and gotten my early termination fee amount. At this point I'd be doing them a favor by playing out my contract. If they give me issues activating the phone it'll just push me to T-Mobile that much faster.

If I order one directly from Google's Play Store, will I be able to activate it?
"Ninja_CJ Nov 1, 2013 11:45 AM (in response to DrMassenburg)
Yes, you can activate on Sprint. You will need to obtain a Sprint UICC (LTE SIM) from Sprint retail / dealer / web / tele and install, which should pair UICC to MEID automatically. You then go to sprint.com/activate to set up service. Note: In between power-on and Sprint provisioning there is an initial 128 MB update so make sure you're in a WiFi capable area during initial setup of an "unlocked" device."

To those having trouble, definitely keep us in the loop. I would also recommend asking for a manager if you call in. It really sounds like an issue of Sprint just not being properly prepared for people activating yet. I had wondered if this would happen since they're still taking preorders.
The 16gb one I mean? Would the updates come from Google or sprint? Cause I am about due for an upgrade and would like the same support of ROMs as play store? I hope I didn't miss this somewhere and if its somewhere else lemme know and request deletion of this thread.
Thanks

yeah its been asked quite a few times. same phone. updates from google. sprint really has nothing to do with it.
Got my nexus 5 today. Sprint won't activate the phone. There is no sim card and sprint reps say they don't support it. Found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507893 and ordered a lte sim card successfully. I was told by the sprint associate via chat that this sim card is needed to activate on sprint

sprint reps have had no training on the n5 yet. Sim is not the problem... did you get a 32 gb model? It seems as though sprint does not have the meids loaded into their system yet.

I'd also like to know this. It gloats that it has an e-sim but I do not see how to really use it.
To answer the question
I have a Verizon gear s2. I connected it to PAGE PLUS and pay .10 a minute. Since these watches have a built in Sim called e-Sim most prepaid companies can't help you because they require a phone to take their Sim. Maybe one day they will advance a little.
