Hi don't know if I am on the right site but I have a problem with my Asus Transformer Pad TF300T I cant use the A button it just wont work!! so of course I cant send email etc etc Please can anyone help ? thanks Elaine
If you have a working button you don't use, I would try one of the button remapper programs from the play store. The better programs need you to be rooted.

Hi you guys.
I have recently bought my Asus Transformer and I have a question.
I live in a country where internet is highly filtered and the access to Facebook, Youtube and many websites are restricted. I have bypassed the filtering by installing Tor on my PC and it’s working fine.
However, I wonder, is there any way to connect my Asus Transformer to my PC through ad-hoc to use Tor (or perhaps any other anti-filtering tools) and connect to those restricted websites? I guess it has something to do with Proxy settings but I really have no idea about how to get it done. It would really mean a lot to me and many others if someone can help me with this.
You can try orbit, it's a Tor-browser for android.
I think it allows you to select apps that will use the tor-tunnel. I'm guessing you just select the facebook-app, and use it like you normally would.

Actually, it's orbot not orbit I used it on my phone, it was ok. I don't know if it's working on honeycomb, try it.
You are absolutely right aibo. My bad

I don't have a computer at the moment nor my asus but i was looking for the "stop skype" app and i cant seem to find it anywhere not even the market so if someone can point me to the right direction that would be helpful.

What does that app do? Stop skype?
It signs off skype and closes it with one click. I use skype alot and wanted to get this

It was taken off the market. In any case it doesn't work for me on transformer. I have attached it here.
get system panel lite and it will do the job and if it cant disable then it will take you to app manager where you can stop the service.
I use adwex, to stop an app just long press and choose manage. it takes us directly to the manage app.
Thank you all! I will try the system panel way since I like the stock launcher..

There may be 2 reasons
1.Your media volume is low(This happened for many so check that out)
2.You may have selected a language other than US in settings->language & Input.Try tinkering with different options. For me,putting it to US english worked

BTW, when said place firmware in root, do u mean the area where other folders are there like the downloads, pictures, movies, ringtones? Or the area where the other folders are like: root, sys, system, etc... Using es file ezplorer file manager, from normal android directly I can hit back and go back one more, where system and other folders are.

You can do either or:
1. Hold down on the "host" file and a popup, (just like in your screen shot), select "Open as", then select "Text", then select "ES note editor", wait a bit and it should opened.
2. Just tab on the "host" file, select "text", then select "ES note editor", wait a bit and it should opened.
That's all. Just a reminder, this is the second time I hold hold hand through the process...LOL

Lucky no offence but you don't sound experienced enough to be editing system files. Permissions and how and what to edit require a bit more knowledge. Similar to the pm you set me about signature verification. If you carry on it is only a matter of time before you create a non booting or crashing device.
Go to the play store and download hosts editor and use apps like AdAway for controlling what ads you see.
Apologies if that came across as patronising. We all had to learn once but jumping straight in to the deep end when you don't know how to swim could be dangerous.

Lol sd non taking but isnt that how u learn from try n error but i will take ur advice to consideration.....

Trial and error can be a painful experience if you get it wrong. But yes it is one of many different learning methods. Not the safest or most sensible but if you are a risk averse person you can learn the hard way.
Hi to all.
Sorry if I post something already known but I tried search here and in google and i didnt find anything.
If I go to settings and tap fast multiple times at camera, pad ec or dock version, I came up with a menu called transformer services with option to update pad ec, dock ISP and camera ISP.
What is that? Is it helpful for anything?
Thanks!

Yes can be used for manually flashing firmware for individual components. Not unknown but not often used
To which folder could I write files from firmware to update by this hidden menu?
