How can I remove an ActiveSync partnership from a phone without removing all the synchronized items with this partnership?
My girl's phone no longer needs to be synched for contacts only for calendar but if I uncheck the contacts-option, AS removes all synced items.
So I thought that i might be able to remove a partnership and then create a new one and only sync the calendar but then also everything is removed...
please advise
My Trick was to get PIMBackup, Backup my Contacts. Uncheck the Contacts in ActiveSync, let it delete, and restore the Contacts from my Backup in PIMBackup.
Hello,
Is there any way backing up the merged contacts? I've tried HTC Sync, but its syncing only phone contacts with outlook, and not all the information.
OK, got it!
GO contacts - its free and has the ability to backup all the merged contacts into single vcf file, which can be used in the future. I also noticed that gmail offers contact import from vcf files and imported the file which Go contacts made. The export is perfect!
Since there is no way of automatically syncing encrypted files i thought about how to manage this in a way that is at least somehow automatic.
I ended with this quite simple but useful setup:
I installed Wuala on my PC (Windows) and on my Asus TF101 Transformer. In addition i installed Folder Sync which can sync with shares.
The first step is to tell Folder Sync which folder/files on my Transformer it should sync to which folder (and how often and when it should perform a sync).
Second i let Folder Sync backup my files to my PC.
The third step is to set up an automatic sync in Wuala's desktop client.
That's it - automatic and encrypted sync.
I just realised, that the process isn't perfect for Titanium backups because they are stored with a date in the filename. This keeps adding new versions when doing another backup. I haven't found a way of switching this off within TI. Perhaps someone has an idea?
Why not just put the encrypted files in your dropbox, and use DropSync on Android to automatically keep them in sync?
I don't like the idea of encrypting my files on the device and Wuala is using transparent encryption without transmitting my password.
Encrypted automatic CLOUD sync for full device backup!
Like the original poster (@ppzoid), I want automatic encrypted backup, but to the cloud from wherever I am, not to a machine on my home network. And importantly, I want automated end-to-end encryption and backup of any file(s) I choose so that I can keep all of the data I value on my device backup up and accessible via my PC as well. (My Android device is already encrypted, and my PC is using whole disk encryption.)

Because this requires manual steps to encrypt the files first. I want automated, encrypted backup of any file. If you sync plaintext files to DropBox, anyone who hacks DropBox (or subpoenas them, though I'm more worried about hackers) can access your files.
I love FolderSync and have been using its automation rules to sync my data to DropBox. But now that I want encryption at rest, I see two potential options.
The first is a product called BoxCryptor that layers cross-platform client-side encryption onto DropBox. But I haven't downloaded it and am not clear from the documentation if files can be modified and uploaded with their Android app or only accessed for reading. Further, to integrate BoxCryptor with my FolderSync setup would likely require some extra steps like a local copy to a "synced" folder first, and it might prove tricky.
So, I'm going with the second option, which is switching to the Amazon S3 cloud. FolderSync already supports S3 client side encryption, so I just need to do a few steps:
1) Create an access key in S3 with read/write permissions only for a new bucket I will create for my Android backup.
2) Add this new S3 account to FolderSync.
3) Modify my FolderSync synchronization rules to use the new S3 account.
VOILA! I will have my files encrypted at rest on my Android device, automatically backed up to S3 after client-side encryption, and then accessible from my PC via an S3 download tool like S3Fox. The only thing I think I will lose is the fancy autosync to PC that the DropBox client provides. But I figure if I search more I can likely find a similar S3 client for windows.

I am trying to move all app data from LG G2 to G3. I backed up what I wanted to google drive but its not syncing to the new device. When I select Sync to Google Drive in Titanium, it syncs that devices info and removes the originals from the Drive.
Advice?
I already have a bunch of chats in Whatsapp. Is there a way I can transfer them to yowhatsapp? I would prefer not to backup to cloud storage (like google) because some of the chats are confidential, so local solutions are preferable.
