Just done this on my rom, and can't see it anywhere on here so thought I would let people know...
If you are running our Samsung 6.0.1
And you are rooted and have xposed installed...
If you install this version of the Google App - http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-app-6-6-14-21-arm64-android-apk-download/
And enable the Assistant Enabler module in the Xposed framework and reboot your phone, holding your homekey will bring up the Google Assistant...
Enjoy
Confirmed working. However this overrides your Google now on tap. And you can reach your Google now cards only by opening the Google app. Furthermore this works almost perfectly.
Settings seem unavailable. And that this point Im not really sure what's the improvement over the old assistant. .

When I hold the home button nothing happens...
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I think it might have something to do with me not having the Velvet folder in the system/priv-app ... But I'm not sure...
(Edit: Issue Resolved)

I can't download frameworks on my s7, everytime I try to download it the phone gets in bootloop

The only way to unbrick is to flash stock firmware... And when you turn on the phone is it a bootloop?
(I also have the SM-G930T)

This is a known "issue" with it, as its only ment to be running on Pixel..
You can hold the home key and get to the assistant that way, then talk as you would, but you can't "ok google" to activate it..

ok i just want to tell you that i got it working
and for those who have a bad time in trying to get it working
listen to my story:
when i tried to root my galaxy s7 the phone got in to bootloop, i freaked out
but then i downloaded the officel samsung farmewere and got my phone working again,
after a while i wanted to root my phone again so i tried another time to root my phone with the same way... it didnt work, then i found a "easy" meathod that u neet to only flash a file using odin and nothing will be erased or anything will be changed except that you have a kind of a rooted phone.
i was happy for a while until i tried downloading frameworks for my phone.
(when i rooted my phone i didn't install twarp or anything) i didnt have twarp so i downloaded twarp installer from the play store.
every time i tried downloading twarp it only got in to twarp the first time
the second time it didn't work.
when i tried downloading frameworks from twarp it got me into bootloop
after a while i finally succeed downloading the orignel root and twarp so i got framework and root working perfectly!
so what im saying is that you cant give up and go with the easy way it will never work the best. dont skip stuff that you thought are not important
do exactly what they are saying for you in the tutorial
if something is not working search it online and i am have full trust on the internet and xda develops that they can help you out and fix almost whatever problem you have on your phone

thank you this is the fist time i have releced my of work due to not being able to read and wright
Got it working on the note 7 port Rom
I'm on a Note 5 and going to give this a try using my version of TWRP. Will edit this post and report findings!
Able to boot after flashing the first .zip. Always got boot loop previous after flashing TWRP but not flashing root! Thanks for the solution!
Basically the minimum I want is the ability to remove my boot sound and update my hosts file. This lets me do that but otherwise be stock. Good enough. Wish I had xposed, root, but still Android Pay and PGO without reboots but that's ok.

Hello, I would like your help.
First of all, sorry for my poor English.
I installed the Root Switch to use Pokemon Go, but my phone crashed and rebooted while I played. After that, I was not able to activate root again, including the SuperSU app says my cell does not have Root.
Does anyone know how I should proceed? Would redoing root solve my case?
Thank you.

It looks like the Root Switch has stopped working, at least here on my S4 I9505 with Android 5.0.1.
Anyone else going through this?
Root Switch never work on my G900T S5 with Lollipop 5.1.1
There was a safetynet update last week that breaks RootSwitch. Had to go the Magisk route but now can use Android Pay along with PoGo
My phone just stopped working. It's restarting and restarting.
I used Debloater to stop apps about 140 apps. now it's kind stable while starting.
My problem is I cannot install apps.
Google Play is showing "Error Retrieving Infomation From Server RH-01"
Apk installing is not working.
I am downloading android studio to install from PC. Will this work "adb install path??"? I have never done this.
Can you say if these apps are okay to disable?

I dont even need to look, you disabled things you shouldn't have, don't disable anything unless you know EXACTLY what it is.
Now, to fix this, do a Google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"

Thank you for the reply.
I tried to Return to my Stock, but everything gone black screen.
Android boots, sounds and vibrate and unlock water sounds, but, everything gone black and colorful lines. A wrong ROM may be?
Plus The flash tools not working properly. Installed Drivers(a lots of times).
I Flash ALL + Download and mistakenly pull out the cable. The mobile doesn't turn on.
After few days I tried and I got ROM from Supergeek, Cubot_GT95_4015C_S135MWI_CQ02_V0.4.1790 which only worked.
Others did not work. My knowledge not enough to understand...
I have Cubot GT95.
Any other help will be kindly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hello.
Im not sure if someone else also found the fix for app conflicts and errors when u mannualy update system apps. But I found a working fix.
When I was testing something to fix my led cover but find out this will resolve the annoying conflicts when manually updating system apps.
So this will work for as I tested so far for 10 minuts or when u reboot. After that u need to do this again.
1. Go to device security.
2. Go to safe or secure start up. Im not English so.
3. If secure start up is disabled turn it on and reboot.
3. If secure start up is enabled turn it off and reboot.
I was able to update all apps I had conflicts before. But when I reboot again u will need to redo step 3. Only this time it will be turning on or off instead of off or on. So bassicly when it was turned off then u will turn it on instead.
Hope this will help for u guys aswell.

I was having this problem that I was unable to log in to snapchat after I rooted my device. I started searching for answers and the answer I found was not working BUT, I figured out a way to use that method and when it was not working, I found a way around it.
WARNING! THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH SNAPDRAGON SAMPWND/SAMFAIL ROOT!
READ TO THE END!
1. Download ROOTSWITCH and run it.
2. Click on stop all su daemons and disable the root. (Now many of you may have tried this and be unable to switch the root on again like happened to me and this is where I was able to find away around it.)
3. Log in to snapchat
4. After you have logged in to snapchat, delete ROOTSWITCH if you are unable to enable the root again.
5. Now the phone is still not with a working root so now you have to boot into recovery and flash SuperSU and reboot your phone.
This is how I did it and worked like a charm and I hope this helps someone. I am not a professional and I have only had my S8+ for less than 3 weeks and before that I didn't have a smartphone for over 2 years.
I apologize if my English is not perfect.

Hi Friends
My wife by mistake deleted important files. Tried Dr. Fone and others but need to root before doing deepscan to recover. I spend hours and but error all the time at 80% because no root access.
I have no choice but to unlock bootloader without backing up TA neither I know how to do it.
Due to late night no time to manually sideloads, but bought Xperfix to do the job to TWRP/ROOT/DRM
So far twrp installed successfully but not rooted nor installed magisk . Let me pull the usb at 20% and wait twrp to reload after 100% nothing done. Maybe twrp not mounted system properly?
I am also worry now after seeing others saying that unlocking bootloader will effect the camera functions?
But as per xperfix 3.0 it says the problem been solved.
How is this Xperfix does it really work ?
try flashing magisk 16 in recovery and see if you get root.

When you bought Xperiafix you also bought support from the developer. Go back to sToRm//'s website and raise a support ticket.
If you include the txt logs found in c:\xperiafix that would be helpful
I have used his tool on my XZ1 compact, so I know it works, but getting the right drivers installed on your Windows machine is a real minefield. Windows chooses the wrong drivers by default when you connect the phone with TWRP running. This sounds like your problem to me. You have to manually add them with the phone connected TWRP on.
Also, you can't just install the drivers in Windows 10 (Windows doesn't tell you it failed to install the drivers, you just can't connect.), you have to go into safe mode and install the drivers with 'driver signing disabled',
There is a lot of helpful advice in the original Xperiafix thread, along with the links to drivers required.
Edit: you have to pull the USB at 20%, go into TWRP yourself (from powered off, hold volume down & power, wait until phone starts, keep volume down for a few more seconds) and swipe to make system partion writeable, then reconnect phone and Xperiafix will do the rest.
appreciate your reply , I have tried many times reflashing with xperifix when twrp reach 20% to restart it wont restart auto I need follow on screen instructions to do and mounted the system untic the and finished to 100% but again no magis and no drm . I copied the magis file from xperifix folder and flashed directly now have rooted already. Only thing why I have been using xperfix because of camera issue and is green. Support no reply yet since yesterday.
Can I manually flash the drm and fix the camera issue ? Please guide me my wife is so sad about this incident.

Can you post the logs from the C:\Xperiafix folder?
Once you have reached the 20% step and gone into TWRP to enable system file write and plug the phone back in, Xperiafix continues if it does nothing then the drivers are wrong.
You will know when the drivers are right as the phone restarts itself once it's been reconnected to Xperiafix.
Read this thread on the original app, everything is explained and the drivers linked
Explanation from sToRm//, help is on the way!
I got it fixed by reinstalling and use WIN10 . Now all set. Appreciate to all my friends on XDA for assisting me.
I want to now after this will I be still getting OTA from Sony can update or need manually update?
How is the battery life after using xperfix?

Android pay will work if you follow Xperiafix. Magisk will install and if you select 'magisk hide' in the settings you will be able to use android pay. It's ok, you don't have to pretend it's your wife's phone
Hi Mate
Thats what we did but failed with Android Pay at counter.
Also bank applications refuse to install because phone was rooted.
Do banking applications works on rooted phone?

Have you tried to run Safteynet after you have installed Magisk? (on the Magisk start page)
Do you have Xposed installed?
There is no way to hide Xposed and it will fail Safteynet
I have several banking apps that work and one that refuses to install
Nope I did not install xposed.
Here is the problem after clicked start safety net the status all are failed.
ctsProfile:false
basicintegrity:false

Got is solved by hiding safety check passed.
But still the citibank app refused to run due to rooted phone.
Anyone tried this app if working?
Regarding android pay do I need to run safety net check each time before using it?
