Need of a device with bootloader unlocked and rooted
1) Install the apk of Root Explorer version 4.0.2 at this link
http://it.apkhere.com/app/com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer
2) Open Root Explorer, go in the system folder and open the build.prop file with the text editor; search the string called
# [ASUS BSP] Nancy - ZE552KL default disable touch navbar
persist.asus.enable_navbar = 0
qcom.hw.aac.encoder = true
and change the value from 0 to 1; then save appropriately the modified file.
4) Now you need to give the right permissions to the file; just keep pressing on the file, then up, about the options that will appear on the file, click on the three vertical dots and then Permissions. You have to set it up as follows
5) Reboot your phone and you should find the soft keys of ZenUI; Now if you want to disable them again it will be enough to re-edit the build.prop files and reset the value to 0.
If you want, in addition, also disable the physical home hardware keys follow these simple steps
1) Download here
http://www103.zippyshare.com/v/sS8EF2Cm/file.html
the Xposed framework compatible with Zenfone 3
2) Download here
http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/YWm75uNz/file.html...
the apk of Xposed app that is need that you install immediately
3) After that, flash the Xposed framework by TWRP recovery and restart the device
At reboot go into Downloads section of Xposed app and research the module named "Xposed Additions". Install it, activate it with the check mark in the Modules section and restart the Zenfone. On restart, launch this application and go in Buttons section; Here click on "Add new Key" and, when you see the screen popup, click on any of the three hardware keys and then confirm with ok. Now go into the rule that you have created (that will bring the name of the button that you have pressed) and click on "Add New Condition"; Click on "Screen On" and then, in subrule that appears, put the check mark on the options "Click" and "Long Press". Repeat the same thing for the state "Screen Off" and "Lock Screen" always clicking on "Add new condition". Now you must only repeat the whole procedure again for the other two hardware buttons on the home and you you will have disabled all of them!
The hardware keys will be disabled?

Release key signer
This is a tool I made for myself and figured I'd share it with everyone
what it does :
1 makes you your own set of release keys
2signs an apk with those keys
3zipaligns your apk
4signs zip files with your release keys
You need to have java in your system path if you don't know how then follow the guide in the second post.
What are release keys? release keys are what google and other corps. use to sign apks and update zips. It's also required to sign an apk with release keys to put them on the market.
How to use:
1ownload release key maker from here
2: unzip anywhere then put your apk (you must remove the meta-inf folder from the apk) into the unzipped folder
3: Double click the batch file and follow the steps
Part Two
This other upload is just an updated version it doesn't let you make the release keys it already has them and the keystore password in the batch file. It also signs zips with a test key because signing a zip with a release key seems to mess some things up.
Download part two here
simple right?
thanks go to:
Papa smurf (for spreading the info)
Darchstar ( I just like your roms)
Regawmod

To do:
hopefully add the ability to not have to enter your password when you sign an apk
other stuff
HOW TO PUT JAVA IN YOUR SYSTEM PATH

the java development kit. Now install them both.
Now open up your start menu and right click COMPUTER and select properties

a new window will open up that looks like this
select "environment variables"
a little window will open like this in environment variables scroll down to path select it and click edit
another window will open like this
at the very end of it type this
Code:
;C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin
click all the "ok" then I believe a reboot is necessary
now enjoy
updated post with new stuff
Had an issue with the path for the jdk, but went and looked and saw that the file name for the version I have is 1.6.0_23 instead of _21. Once I got that minor issue lined out it works great. Thank you for this.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Download the Music and Ears APK files. You can either download one or both, depending on which of these you want to try out.
2.Copy the Play Music_trans.apk and GoogleEars_tranp.apk files to your device.
3.Install ES File Explorer File Manager on your tablet from the Play Store. Those already experienced with using a root-enabled file manager can go directly to step 5 and skip step 4.
4.Open ES Explorer. Then, click the menu button on your device and click Settings. Here, tick the “Up to Root” option. Then go down and tick the “Root Explorer” option, then press Allow/Grant button when prompted to grant it root access. Then, tick the “Mount File System Option” as well. Once all three options are selected, press back to exit the settings.
5.Browse to where you copied the Play Music_trans.apk file, long-press on it, select Copy. Then press the Up button on top till you reach the outermost folder (till it says / at the top).
6.Then, go into /system/app folder, then press the “Paste” button on top to copy the Play_Music_trans.apk file here. Important: If you see a file named Play Music.apk inside /system/app already exits, first rename the file to something else to back it up before copying the new file.
7.Then, long-press on the newly copied Play_Music_trans.apk file in /system/app, and click on the Properties button. Then, click on the Change button in the Properties under the Permissions section.Change to RWRR.
8.Then press the OK button to change permissions.
Repeat steps 5 to 8 for the GoogleEars_tranp.apk file. After setting its permissions, close ES File Explorer and reboot your device.
Once your device boots up, you’ll be able to use the latest Google Music app as well as the Google Ears widget.
GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC
GOOGLE EARS
Is there anything noticeably updated with these apps? I'm sure I'll try them anyways..
What BG are u using? is it a LWP??
Trans? Are you telling me that the music player widget from Nexus 4 is actually transparent, or has the .apk file been edited?

Prerequisites
- Device with unlocked bootloader, with TWRP Recovery and Root
Steps
1) Download here
http://www103.zippyshare.com/v/sS8EF2Cm/file.html
the Xposed framework compatible with Zenfone 3
2) Download here
http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/YWm75uNz/file.html...
the apk of Xposed app that is need that you install immediately
3) After that, flash the Xposed framework by TWRP recovery and restart the device
4) When restart the phone, go into the Xposed app, then Downloads section and research the module named "Flat Style Bar Indicators". Install it, activate it with the check mark in the Modules section and restart the Zenfone. On restart, launch this application and buy the pro version, then go through a file manager in the path data/com.bocharov.xposed.fsbi/backups (create it if don't exists), and paste in it this file
http://www44.zippyshare.com/v/pWWyLwNo/file.html
5) Go back in Flat Style app and select a restore from backup using the previous file added.
Magically you will see the status bar change from the original (and characterized by very old style) of ZenUI to that of material design !!!
Now we must add the soft touch buttons in material style (colored ones available on the latest version of Android, namely 7.0 Nougat)
To do this
1) Install the apk of Root Explorer version 4.0.2 at this link
http://it.apkhere.com/app/com.speeds...e.rootexplorer
2) Open Root Explorer, go in the system folder and open the build.prop file with the text editor; search the string called
# [ASUS BSP] Nancy - ZE552KL default disable touch navbar
persist.asus.enable_navbar = 0
qcom.hw.aac.encoder = true
and change the value from 0 to 1; then save appropriately the modified file.
4) Now you need to give the right permissions to the file; just keep pressing on the file, then up, about the options that will appear on the file, click on the three vertical dots and then Permissions. You have to set it up as follows
5) Reboot your phone and you should find the soft touch buttons but those of ZenUI; don't worry and go in the Xposed app and from the Download section search the module named "Nougat Navigation Bar"; install and then activate it with the check mark from the Section Modules, then again restart the device.
Then finally you should also find the soft touch keys in Material style !!!
If you want, in addition, also disable the physical home hardware keys follow this simple step
Go into Downloads section of Xposed app and research the module named "Xposed Additions".
Sorry OOT, ehat is the font name on the screenshoot above ?
304sh root
First of all, im considered "new" in this forum, so forgive me in advance for formatting mistakes, etc
ive seen people asking for root instruction for this phone
it exist, but you need to pay someone for it, however in this guide i managed to compile an easy way to gain root access
(albeit not permanent)
(i have written this guide in my country's local forum and google translated most it since im too lazy to rewrite them all)
How to :
How to root 304sh (s0028 tested) (temporary root)
Use 360 Root (apk)
this is not a permanent root solution, when the phone is restarted the root access will disappear & must be re-rooted (there is possibility of failure - my solution is to reinstall the application)
how:
1. download the application & open it, click the root button (big button middle of the screen)
2. if the rooting process is stuck in 75% dont panic, wait for a bit then exit and force close the application
3. re-open the application & and the application will re-root (manually or automatically - random luck really) & will eventually reach 100% root process
if a prompt appears containing supersu application, press the left button , (right button disables the app) (doesn't affect anything, since it will use 360's own superuser)
4. try downloading root checker, and when the root prompt appears, select the left button to grant root access (right reject)
congratulations you have root access
No pic hoax? okay challenge accepted

*if you pressed the right button by accident open the root application and press the button that contains the word "root" (or an icon that looks like a keyhole), open it and in the root application list, click the right side of the application list then select the green option for grant (red to deny and blue for the prompt_
* this application could install other 360 applications, this for "optimization" or a custom lockscreen, you can delete them without side effects
* SuperSu cant be used, it will show "su binary occupied", the stock 360 superuser is fine though
also dont ask me for "permanent root", since i dont know and im trying to find a solution without paying someone to root it
(most of the time you want to unlock the bootloader for a possibility of a permanent root, the thing is, its almost impossible to get in the bootloader/recovery even with ADB in this device)
