INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Download the Music and Ears APK files. You can either download one or both, depending on which of these you want to try out.
2.Copy the Play Music_trans.apk and GoogleEars_tranp.apk files to your device.
3.Install ES File Explorer File Manager on your tablet from the Play Store. Those already experienced with using a root-enabled file manager can go directly to step 5 and skip step 4.
4.Open ES Explorer. Then, click the menu button on your device and click Settings. Here, tick the “Up to Root” option. Then go down and tick the “Root Explorer” option, then press Allow/Grant button when prompted to grant it root access. Then, tick the “Mount File System Option” as well. Once all three options are selected, press back to exit the settings.
5.Browse to where you copied the Play Music_trans.apk file, long-press on it, select Copy. Then press the Up button on top till you reach the outermost folder (till it says / at the top).
6.Then, go into /system/app folder, then press the “Paste” button on top to copy the Play_Music_trans.apk file here. Important: If you see a file named Play Music.apk inside /system/app already exits, first rename the file to something else to back it up before copying the new file.
7.Then, long-press on the newly copied Play_Music_trans.apk file in /system/app, and click on the Properties button. Then, click on the Change button in the Properties under the Permissions section.Change to RWRR.
8.Then press the OK button to change permissions.
Repeat steps 5 to 8 for the GoogleEars_tranp.apk file. After setting its permissions, close ES File Explorer and reboot your device.
Once your device boots up, you’ll be able to use the latest Google Music app as well as the Google Ears widget.
GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC
GOOGLE EARS
Is there anything noticeably updated with these apps? I'm sure I'll try them anyways..
What BG are u using? is it a LWP??
Trans? Are you telling me that the music player widget from Nexus 4 is actually transparent, or has the .apk file been edited?

this looks SICK! cant wait to try it!!!
a quick question, does the weather still animate with these?
Yes you still get the weather animation..
Awesome. Followed your guide and it looks great! Now I'm interested in changing the icons on my homescreen clock and weather widget. Do you have any insight on doing that? Thanks!
Hey everyone, I just finished my first releasable boot animation. As the title suggests, it is an animation of the American flag being raised over mt suribachi on the Japanese island of Iwo Jima during WWII. Not only is this a full animation of it being raised, but you also have the option to have a sound in the background. I will be including my sound version with a clip from the song "Killing in the Name Of" by RATM. There is also a non sound version for those of you that want a stealthy boot up, say if you were in school.
both zips are flashable through cwm recovery
How To install them :
1. copy/move the bootanimtionwithsound.zip/bootanimationnosound.zip file to your SDcard
2. Reboot into CLOCKWORKMod Recovery
3. goto " Install Zip from SDCard "
4. goto " Choose Zip from SDcard "
5. goto where you have the animation zip file
6. highlight the animation you want and press the camera key
7. Install the Animation.
8. Press Back key.
9. then " Reboot system now "
If you want sound, but dont want the RATM sound, find a .mp3 file, edit it down to about 10 seconds of your favorite part, save it as Android_Audio.mp3; then extract the contents of the bootanimationwithsound.zip to your desktop and navigate through the folders data and local and replace the mp3 with yours, and then do the same for the system then media folder. Then highlight the things you extracted and right click add to archive. rename to what you want and then select .zip, then change the compression method to STORE and click ok/done/ what ever it is. then you can move it to you sdcard and use the above steps to install it. Have Fun!

A) G0OGLE KEYBOARD
Download / Instructions
This APK will require you to replace a .so file that the keyboard relies on, which isn't packaged with the keyboard itself. Here's how you do it.
Download the Keyboard APK and libjni_latinimegoogle.so below.
Install the Keyboard APK. At this point the keyboard will likely crash if you try to use it.
Back up your current libjni_latinimegoogle.so file (found in /system/lib) and replace it with the one you just downloaded, using the file explorer of your choice. Be sure permissions are set to rw-r--r--.
The APK is signed by Google and upgrades your existing app. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the file is safe to install and was not tampered with in any way. Rather than wait for Google to push this download to your devices, which can take days, download and install it just like any other APK.

 GOOGLE SEARCH
Download / Instructions
The new search on pre-L devices would take a little extra fiddling. If you're using a rooted device, here's how you can enjoy the new Search:
Download the Search APK, Google Now Launcher APK (optional but recommended), and the hotword .so file linked below.
Install the Search and Launcher APKs. At this point they'll be crashy, because they rely on the hotword file, which itself is not packaged with either APK.
Back up your current libgoogle_hotword_jni.so file (found in /system/lib) and replace with the file linked below using a file explorer of your choice. Be sure permissions are set to rw-r--r--.
The following APKs are signed by Google and upgrade your existing apps. The cryptographic signatures guarantee that the files are safe to install and were not tampered with in any way. Rather than wait for Google to push the downloads to your devices, which can take days, download and install them using the instructions above.
