Face Unlock - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I recently updated my phone to Marshmallow. Previously, I had face unlock setup. But, for some reason, I couldn't find face unlock in the settings after updating. It seems that Huawei have decided to remove face unlock in their ROM.
So, is there any way to activate face unlock. I have already tried switching trusted agents to Google, but in the smart lock section, only Bluetooth is available.
Thanks.

sadly its removed in MM

I can only use Pattern lock since ICS update??

Ive noticed that since the ICS update for the XOOM i can only set pattern for my lock screen. I cannot set up a PIN password or the highly talked about "Facial recognition". Is this the same for everyone or just me?
The steps I took: settings> security> screen lock
once i click on screen lock it just ask me to create a new pattern. Not change to pin or facial recognition.
Are you talking about the official update? Because if memory serves, I believe I read that the official update does not have face unlock in it right now.

Does Smart Face Unlock work for you?

As the title says, does it even work? I tried many many times, improved the face recognition at least a dozen times, but it simply never ever works...
Yes, for me works and it's super-fast!
I have enabled the unlock pattern with smartlock, so if the camera recognize my face it do not ask for the unlock pattern.

Can you tell if it has recognized you before actually trying to unlock the device? Or it's a surprise, so to speak?

If you notice: when you press the unlock button and the phone shows you the lockscreen there's an icon like a "user icon" in the bottom of the screen, if the smartlock recognize you it will change in an unlocked padlock, if it don't, it will be a locked padlock.
Sorry for my bad english dude

Disabling the Screen Lock?

Hey everyone.
So installed Microsoft's Next locker to see if it is a worthwhile replacement for the stock EMUI lockscreen (and because they recently added fingerprint reader support), however I have been facing some issues with disabling the stock lock screen, and therefore end up with the "double lock screens". The problem is that, when trying to set the "Password" under Screen Lock & Passwords, the "None" option is greyed out with the following notification: "Disabled by administrator, device encryption or credential storage."
I've had a look at this thread, and the solution that @RobboW posted there doesn't seem to work for me. First of all, the Huawei Unlock doesn't exist in EMUI 4.0 it seems. I did find a Smart Unlock feature (with a Huawei logo, hence the assumption that it is a successor to the Huawei Unlock feature) under Settings - Advanced Settings - Security - Trusted Agents, however disabling that did not work.
Further digging on the internet suggested that I clear the credential storage, however that didn't solve my problem either. Further than that I cannot see any of the two currently active device administrators interfering with the lock screen (I tested it to be safe, and disabling them didn't make a difference).
Has anyone had this issue before, or perhaps know of a workaround?
Cheers! :good:

S8+ Lock Screen Not Working

Dear XDA Bros and Sisters
I'm new here and just signed up. I Just got my Samsung S8+ and it work fine for a few hours including the iris scanner security lock..but suddenly i can swipe open my phone without the iris scanner or the pattern password being asked. I restarted my s8+ a couple of times..i tried to change the security method but no luck.
Anyone can open my phone since the security that Samsumg prides itself off seems to be defective on my S8+...or Can it be my fault? I dont remember changing the other settings though. Please advice. Thank you in advance.
Respectfully yours,
Fredrockzzz

Hi, have a look under settings - lockscreen and security - smart lock. You may have inadvertently enabled unlock in a trusted place or near a trusted device.

Usually the smartwatch or the bluetooth headphones, which is frustrating because you always have them and can't seem to find the problem, ahaha.

Got a few questions. Face unlock and Assistant.

So, I can't find the settings to set up face unlock. I thought it was a feature it was supposed to have. While I prefer the fingerprint scanner, I've gotten used to using my face to unlock at work.
Also, does Google assistant works for anyone with the screen locked? My old phone worked. This one is supposedly better.
Big disappointment so far.

Your totally right. Where is face unlock? I've totally forgotten this feature. Doesn't seem to be implemented yet. Assistant doesn't work with screen locked.
Its in "Settings" -> "Lock screen and password" -> "Add face data". I have that on the 256 version. MIUI 9.5.

Global Rom?
Because I only have this.
Im pretty sure im on Chinese rom.
I use face unlock on chinese rom since day one. don't know if it's available on official global rom or xiaomi.eu rom. is it?
Hi
Just set INDIA as your main country and the face unlock option will appear in settings. Realy i don't understand why Xiaomi block this future for the others countries.
I've the last Global Rom Stable Vers.
If you don't have faceunlock just go to root directory/cust/cust and delete the files in it and reboot. There is region specific stuff stored and if you delete it you will have all features. Source

You're right, this works.
But I can't change my region permanently because of time zone issues.
That's super annoying.

You can set manually your time zone .. I’ve make this simple change and works . We hope that Xiaomi release a rom without this stupid limitation . I’m wait that my bootloader unlock counter will expire in 14 days and I will flash another rom.

But other settings will get messed up. Assistant won't work, Google lens won't work.
I don't want to root and flash another rom, I want a functioning device.
Very annoying.
