How to get an actual new, unused, fresh battery? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

According to accubattery my original s6 battery was down to about 1,900 mah capacity, so I wanted to find a fresh one to put in. Opening the phone up to do the fix myself didnt bother me. I couldnt find any on Amazon that had good reviews so I took to ebay and bought a battery that was claimed to be "new and unused". Apparently the wastes of life selling them lied, because after installing the new battery I am finding that the charge is even less than my old one! It doesn't seem like something such as this should be so difficult to find. Anybody know where you can get a new version of the actual stock OEM battery that hasn't been run to the ground and sold as new?

[Q] My Crazy YooBao Mix up! - Potential Extended Battery Issue

The guy selling these batteries messed up my order. He is working quickly to make it right. I just wanted to share what was going on with everyone.
His sales name on E-bay is "Moretalktime". He has all positive reviews but when I went to order I noticed he had identical ad postings for a long life battery (Yoobao) but with different prices. I checked both meticulously and even had a family member double check. They both were claiming to be YooBao 2800 Mah. So naturally I ordered the cheaper one. Once I got the battery I knew right away that it wasn't YooBao. It was black, had a generic label on it, and rated at 3000 Mah. I even double checked the ad on e-bay and I wasn't crazy. It read, This YooBao Battery..... and in the middle of the text claimed the rating to be 2800 Mah battery life.
I shot Kevin an email and he was really quick in responding to my issue. He said he would pay return shipping and swap it out for the Yoobao once he got the generic returned. Apparently the ads got mixed up or something. He gave me the option to condition the battery, try it out and see what I thought; if I didn't like it I could swap it out and return it for the Yoobao.
I figured I would try it since I already had this battery in-hand. I quickly ran into an issue. While draining the charge that the generic battery came with, I noticed the screen kept flickering Rainbow-like horizontal banding. It only would occur when I had the screen brightness up from 80% - 100% and when a large majority of the screen was pure white. like the market loading screen or the facebook app, even dolphin HD in Full screen mode on a website like Google. It freaked me out because I didn't want anything to happen to my device. I tried with the OEM battery and couldn't replicate the issue. I also figured out it only occurs when the screen brightness is up past 80% and gets really bad when maxed out at 100%
Does this phenomenon occur with the YooBao's too? If so I doubt its an issue that will effect the device, but either way I would rather take my chances with a battery that has a reputation versus a generic no name so I sent it back to the guy for the YooBao.
Sounds like a defective battery. I dont have the Yoobao but I can assure you that it doesn't cause screen flicker. I have the 3500mah generic battery, which probably is the exact same battery you got, and I do not have this issue. These generic batteries of the "extended" variety are pretty much all the same, just with a different wrapper on them with different mah ratings. Its just a theory of mine since I only have the 3500mah one, but since they are all the same size its pretty well founded. The generic 3500mah or 3000mah are probably both truly 2800mah.

Thanks for replying. Yeah I figured it was the same. Its already back in texas waiting to be swapped for a YooBao so all is well.
My screen did that exact same thing with the stock battery. It happened when the phone was charging and I had a lot of apps running.
my screen does that with the stock battery too. i only get the rainbowie flickering when im 100 percent bright(all the time) and under 20 percent battery. i acually see this almost every day.
Well I got my Yoobao on Monday. I just finished draining it from 100% so day one of the conditioning is over. Its was a champ all day. Brightness set up to 100% from 5am. I made it to 7pm with heavy usage. lots of internet browsing, videos and gaming. All I want is to be able to reliably get through an entire day without having to consider putting my phone in airplane mode in low signal areas, turn down screen brightness and account sync times, etc.....
Yoobao = no problems with rainbow phenomena

I didn't pay attention to the percentage. It may have been under 20 percent. It also would have explained why I couldn't replicate the issue on my OEM battery. However I finished "day-one" of my conditioning for my Yoobao battery and even the back ten percent didn't have the rainbow issue.
In regards to having a lot of apps running to replicate the problem. I rebooted my phone just to see if it was a software issue or maybe even some background processes causing the problem. With the generic 3500Mah I had reliable rainbowing issue between 80-100% screen brightness without any apps running in the background. So long as the app background on screen was nearly pure white, I had rainbowing. On my OEM I couldn't replicate it, but it was fully charged. I will, however, try to manifest the problem when I get the OEM battery below 20% and then report back.
Hi guys. I figured I would quit lurking and start posting here once in awhile
Full disclosure I am also a seller on ebay and I'm not hard to find by my user name but you are somewhat correct the 3000 mah and the 3500 mah are the exact same battery. I contacted my manufacturer about the 3500's the start popping up on ebay a few months ago and they told me they were the same with a different sticker.
The sad thing is those of us that are trying to be honest will eventually have to switch and start selling the fake sticker batteries too because 90% of the buyers this we have an inferior product
I'm glad you were able to get your Yoobao order straightened out. He appears to be another great seller just not sure how he keeps his account open charging $7 shipping on a 3oz battery but it all averages out. Yoobao is an EXCELLENT company and product!
I'll try to start posting more my "real job" is working in Product Management for Sony Ericsson here in Atlanta.

Nice to see your real, I just ordered a battery from you last night. Got an email from ya today. Im looking forward to receiving this from you. I will be sure to tell everyone ......But on a side note i ordered a cheaper one from mzmshop or whatever it is 3.5 weeks ago and still nothing so he refunded my money which was cool of him but ill spend the extra 5 bucks and get the battery in a few days. I ended up going with yours b/c i saw the other 3500 mah ones and figured they were the same or the 3500 was less. You seemed legit in saying 3000mah and i figured if i get a cheaper 3500mah and its only 2400 then im better off getting your 3000mah.
I'm real.

now one thing i noticed in your listing was that yours has a built in chip so it doesnt overcharge and undercharge and whatnot. Do those ones from china that dont advertise it also have the chips in them?

Most of them do. There are 3 primary manufacturers but the thing is all 3 will run custom lots. So if you have an exporter looking to save a penny they will put out an RFP for ones without it etc. This is how these 3500's likely came about...some large exporter put out an RFP for a 3000mah battery with a custom 3500 sticker and BAM the market is flooded with them.
All of the ones I buy do have them. Depending on the phone it is sometimes better that they don't have the integrated chip. Some companies (Motorola specifically) are starting put push checks in the 2.2.1 Android to check the safety chipset to see if its a Motorola part and if not the phone OS won't recognize the battery. They are doing this to combat counterfeit batteries but unfortunately if affects aftermarket/generic as well.

1600mah Andida Battery For Motorola BP6X - Milestone 2

hey guys,
just wanted to let you know that i've found this website where you can buy this item for only $8.49 - bargain!
i have used andida batteries in the past for 2 other phones and they've not only increased battery life but they are also quite reliable. (eg. My x10 mini pro used to heat up when charging but with the andida it didn't)
so here is the website . check it out:
search in google - obostore 1600mAh andida bp6x
(dunno why server wont let me put a website here)
hope you all find it useful!
i need to wait for mine to get here which will take 2 weeks.
i'll update everyone on its performance when i can
Will i need new Back Case?
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using Tapatalk
the website saids it fits original device.
so no back cover needed apparently!
Personally, I'd be wary about these knock-off batteries (especially being so cheap as well!).
me too! but i've used andida batteries for the last 2 phones i've had
and they not only worked better but lasted longer!
obviously i will check the labels and make sure its a legit battery.
still waiting for it to arrive!

It is an increase of 14%
its not a bad increase. if you can get 24hrs out of the standard battery then you can get nearly 3 and half hours more with this..
I really don't trust on "higher batteries".
Battery is a thing that, if anything gets wrong, your phone could be damaged.
battery
i bought 1 of the batteries but i have a small problem since as soon as i put on the phone instead of the battery indicator i get a ? and when i charge it it says battery cannot be charged please use original motorola battery.
any help?
any help pls?
Milestone 2 works well only with original battery bp6x and bp7x, probably because of an embedded control chip
You can charge your non-original battery with a external dock, there's nothing else you can do
have you tried contacting the supplier and asking them? that would be the obvious first port of call! maybe its a duff one.
I will try that i am just asking here to see if anyone had the same issue
Sent from my MotoA953 using XDA App
It is well known (at least in the german speaking board I am mostly active on) that the Milestone 2 only accepts Original BP6X (maybe BP7X? never heard of them) Batterys.
As patton82 wrote, you can charge it externally and use it, thou you won't see how much percent you have left nor charge it inside the MS2, so at best it is a "emergency battery" to carry with you charged.
There are problems even with "original" BP6X due to a lot of illegal copys of them which look legit at first (differences are quite small) and some online-shops sell them even without knowing they are not original ones.
Regards,
sceada
thanks for your help then
google search
I had da exact same problem with a non-original 2400mAH battery. I Inserted it and it worked fine jus' didn't show da battery percentage, simply not being able to read the battery because it wasn't an original, and jus' showing a "?" icon instead.
It was very annoying, seen as I was excited to have an extended battery to make up for the POOR Milestone 2 battery, but in the end I jus' contact the seller and was issued a refund. Brought it off Amazon frm a third party seller by da way.
Anyway, would flashing a new/specific rom GREATLY improve the battery life of my Milestone 2? Or is there an alternative extended life battery that is compatible. Someone please help, and sorry for da story. Thanks

Does anyone know where it is possible to get original motorola BP6X batteries for sure? Preferably not for a price worth half the price of the phone now
I've few of those ultra-cheap chinese batteries as a backup battery in case my main battery dies. However It looks like my main battery won't hold charge as when new and I would like to have that original battery capacity once again (plus cheapo battery backup ofc)
I bought this battery and it's amazing. It lasts for days using a stock ROM with Juicedefender... I guess custom ROMs won't need JD.

Andida Extended Battery

Has anyone seen or used these on other devices? http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/andida-extended-battery-for-htc-sensation-p30661.htm
I thought for £13-ish it seemed pretty good and it's 1800mah.
Will post my thoughts/experience about it when i get it.
Looking forward to your feedback as I can't find Anker in UK (amazon sold out)
the battery colors look familiar!! reminds me of one I bought for Touch HD awhile ago can't remember brand but was good lasting longer than OEM
Remember to peel back any stickers to see if there are hidden numbers etc.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e
I used an Andida for my HD2 for a while but ended up going back to OEM because I got the same usage with the OEM. The Andida was listed at 1600 while the OEM was 1230mAh
Got this battery today, charging it atm and will have to reset the battery stats first to see how it compares. Will rely when i know more.
Strangely i cannot get this phone to see that this battery is any bigger than a stock battery. It's still stating 1580mah in my battery monitor. I've wiped batterystats and now have S-OFF so i've installed a custom rom. However it still states 1580mah.
Anyone have any idea why this is?

Looking for a replacement battery

My battery life has suddenly got worse. Looking for a solid OEM replacement that will fit under the OEM back cover while providing more MAH would be nice. Any recommendations?

Got my battery from local battery store. (Can't say the name). But OEM equivalent. I would have ordered from online but I couldn't at the moment. (Was planning Amazon)
Didn't care for BIGGER batteries, because I didn't want to add more bulk to the device. Besides proper kernel to recognize and utilise the EXTRA capacity.
So with my "oem equivalent battery", from 6 hours max SOT I've got 10 hours, just like when I first got the device.
Time, use and heat will wear your battery out.
6-10 was during personal specific use.
"Because I could waste battery from 2.5-3.5."
I recommend Amazon/eBay equivalent" Money back guarantee..
Unless you are looking for higher mah.
You can easily get a official OEM battery online, just make sure that you are purchasing it from a reputable online retailer. I'd recommend getting the Note 4 Battery Kit as you will also get a battery charging cradle along with your battery.
mine had the same issue , replaced it with a new original one for around 20$ , now phone is back to normal with around 12~16 hours

I'll recommend getting a new OEM battery or getting Anker (I got multiple Ankers and have excellent results) if you want the same back.
Trust me, new battery (even with same 3220 mAH) will definitely show noticeable difference to your battery life.
For higher capacity, I've heard good things about zerolemon but it uses a different cover.
You will find many batteries in eBay claiming to be of more capacity with the same dimensions (hence fitting the OEM back cover).
Do NOT believe those claims. The battery technology has advanced, but only in terms of cost per Watts. The energy density (Watts per unit volume) is still the same.
You can tweak the circuitry to show more charge than actually there is. It'll result in unreliable numbers (e.g. battery going directly from 20 to 0 etc). And that is what these so-called same volume higher density batteries do.
Stay away from those and get a good one so that you don't regret it later.
I just replaced mine with an Anker brand from Amazon. It has 4 out of 5 stars, and I think most of the bad reviews are cause people have something else wrong with their phones. Overall, the replacement has been very satisfactory, and I think is more reliable than getting "OEM" version off of ebay (which usually is not OEM).
Fair warning though, I do firmly believe that something happened between kit kat and lollipop, which made battery life not as good. I was expecting to go back to battery life from the kit kat day, but alas, did not happen. Back in those days, I could end the day with 80%+ still on my phone, it was amazing. With the anker replacement, I end with about 50%, which is still better than what my original battery was doing (ending at 20%, then quickly jumping from 20% to 1% and shutting off).

Wait for Marshmallow & Doze. You'll see a huge improvement.
I recently changed my battery. ( My original battery broke)
I ordered Anker battery from Amazon and I am really happy. battery life is same as original battery if not better.
I did not ordered an "original" Samsung battery because many of them are fakes.
+1 for Anker, equal original ! It's quite impossible to find a samsung original battery, all are fake or rubberbished ! Samsung only sells, but it is not available anymore...

Battery Replacement?

I've noticed recently that my batter is not lasting the whole day. I haven't wiped the phone since I got it (which is unusual for me as I usually root), so perhaps I should do that to see if resolves the battery drains.
Has anyone replaced the battery? I tried once on my Nexus 5, but the replacement battery was a dud. I'm seeing some on eBay that even go up to 3800 mAh, but that seems to good to be true, also none of the sellers seem to be rated which makes me assume they are scams.
If anyone has replaced the battery is there a good place to buy one?
Did you ever wind up doing a battery replacement? Thinking that I may need to do the same, although I also think that I should do a wipe first to see if that helps. Thx.
