when i turning fast charge on, estimated time increases up to 3hr, turned off = 1h 30m from 15%... aand what's problem with it? well, my usb cable is lil damaged, iv dropped phone with usb on and it does not sit tightly anymore, but other usb cable does, so port is not broken, this might be a problem? (if it is, how fast is recommended to get new cable)
p.s usb cable' head and charger gets little hot, but phone maintains normal temperature even when fast charging is on...
p.s 2 also it does not say it is fast charging anymore in notification panel...
Thanks in advc
anyone?

i'v tried other non-original, but also non-damaged usb and it's still same... i hope my charging port is OK
p.s so i need to buy new, orogonal Samsung one?
I'm guessing the port is now damaged as you've stated that you've tried a couple of different cables and the problem persists. One of the pins must be misaligned inside there now and so its no longer functioning as it should.
Have you tried using different USB cables ? As well as different ports/sockets?

different cable is fine, no disconnect issue, but charges noticable slow, not to mention that fast charge does not work with non-original cables

I have looked around on this topic before posting, but nothing applies to what im experiencing
Up until this morning, I haven't had a single issue with my USB port or charging in general.
I clean flashed Purity KitKat, flashed compatible Uber kernel and installed my apps as one usually do, and let the phone charge for a while. A few hours later, I realized my battery was at 0%. I started panicking, looking for a USB replacement part, which I found for about $12 on Amazon. I decided I would download GSAM battery monitor to see if there was an issue with my charging cable.
What I saw was the mA flow was acting erratic, sometimes shooting from -700ma (yes, that's negative 700) all the way up to 1800mA. Even by just rotating the screen, it would drop instantly. . The phone charges, but a little at a time. I disabled KSM and fast charge which seemed to have a positive effect.
I'm not sure what caused this, or how to fix it, but I've attached a couple pictures to give you an idea of what I'm seeing. If it is in fact the USB port, would using a Qi charger be a good option or should I just go ahead and dismantle the phone and replace the USB port?
Note: windows still recognizes the phone and I can send files from the computer, and the charging bolt is showing.
Have you replaced the cable? Far more common for the cable to crap out then the port. Cheap or broken cables will appear to work, computer will detect phone and even display a charging indicator but it won't actually charge. Had happened to me in the past.

Yeah I've tried numerous chargers including my car charger. They all charge, but it took 12 hrs from 0 to 100

Try flashing the stock rom to rule that variable out. If you want to be sure that is the usb port you could try with a wireless charger as it could also be the battery, you can find a new one at the same price range of the port.
It does seems a lot like what happened when both the stock charger and the cable were damaged. I tried to charge the phone and when disconnected it had less charge.
For the last three months my G920F automatically connects and disconnects from the charger when it is connected to the wired charger. It happens quite oftenly when the battery is charging from 0 to 20 percent and when there are more apps opened i.e. the phone is drawing more current. This connection problem slows down after 20% though. I haven't noticed this on wireless charging. I ve bought a new cable and charger and the problem still persists. The phone will automatically disconnect and connect in a fraction of a second without moving any cable or phone.
So is it a damaged usb port or is it some kind problem with the charging IC? I am using orignal fast charger and cable and i have tried dozen other cables and chargers. Knox is tripped though.

Sounds like it could be the charging port if you have tried different chargers and cables, apart from that you can try flashing a new rom, just remember to back up.

Already tried that. Right now i am on stock marshmallow with space x kernel.
have the same issue since ~3 months. Its happening fitfully and i think about sending it into repair.
I was also using different chargers and cables but the issue still exists. So far the only work around is using wireless charging. I'm on Stock 6.0.1 btw

Please let me know exactly what do they replace as i have to do that myself here.
Hi all, i have a problem with my s6. I repaired my s6 usb port and changed it with a new one. But still my phone charges at 250mah instead of 2000 and my pc wont recognise it, any suggestions?
A kind of "script-type" solution, but have you tried different USB cable? I suggest you buy a proper one, like 28/24 gauge USB cable.
These are a bit more expensive, but charge very well. Much better quality and charge faster.
Already changed ton of cables and usb ports, still the same problem

I think your charging ic on logic board needs replacing. Only micro solderer people can replace that. Might not be worth for you.
i ve lent it on a samsung repairer guy. they changed battery, connector and installed a new os. now they said they should give me it tonight or tomorrow.. let s see if it works

The way I read that you're expecting to get rapid charge from pc ports. Need a rapid charger for rapid charging.

Same issue here. Think its related to a charging chip
Hi,
I've got the exactly same problem here. Repacinfg battery and the USB port of the phone did not solve the problem. Did your repairing work out? Any more ideas?

Hello all :
I have exactly the same problem that you all I have 250 to 300ma really charge, that it is any charger of 0.5 amps 3.1 amps either with a quick charger from Samsung or quick charge 2.0 or other, any cable too, and any rom, tested Global, Lineage and stock.
Oooo, and i tested with a custom charger, 9v 2amps, nothing change !!! 0.250amps and 5hours to 50% -> 100%....
Is really strange problem.
Any Idea ? is possible to limitation software ???

Yes is possible, but here i dont know.. beacause, it would have quite different effects depending on the chargers and on the voltage. here we have, in my case, the same problem regardless of the charger amps or voltage.
this is more like a software crash of the chips in the worst case.
Other hand I noticed that I had lost all utilities USB my phone example when I plug it on my computer it is absolutely not recognized... Any Idea for that ???
Thanks

Need help.
In software, how or where is manageme the charge ? In the kernel ?
Is strange, the charge is blocking at 250ma...
always showing show charging when i connect to samsung charger.
any solution to get back fast charging ?

In 90% of cases this is caused by either a faulty cable or a faulty powerbrick. Are you sure it isn't either of it?
Else try cleaning your port, once had this issue (but with microUSB) that it charged 5%/h just because there was so much dust in the port.
Also I had one (really cheap) USB-C cable which was just working when plugging in with one dedicated side up - so when I flipped the cable 90°, it wasn't even recognizing the cable -> turn back and even fast charging worked.
No faulty cable or no any cut with cable.. its genuine..
sometime getting fast or cable charging

Any Idea that how to clean port ???? i think its dust there.
i have exactly the same problem started happening today. multiple chargers and cables still shows slow charging
Same problem with me. Please help
I use a push pin (thumbtack with a plastic head) to clean the port. I have had to do this a few times since I got the phone a couple years ago. I have scraped pretty hard the bottom of the port and not caused any damage. Of course you do need to show some restraint. I don't want to be the cause of you breaking your phone. I had the most trouble with a car charger, but also the OEM charger. The cleaning has always fixed it for me.
Hello
I hope you can help me
I have a g930u s7 model
Fast charging or standard charging dont works for me. also the battery drains fast. I already try many SAMSUNG ORIGINAL fast chargers and even other brands. And it only charges me in USB mode (as if it were charging on the computer) and takes 6 hours to charge. And also the pc or OTG does not recognize me with pendrive, mouse, etc.
What could be the problem? Or what would be the part to replace, the charger discards it as I tried with many.
Thanks in advance
Try changing the usb cable. Worked for me .
Hope it helps ??j

Inspect the connection to see if damaged, If it's ok then it's the charging circuit and needs replacing.
