Developing VOLTE for Oneplus One. - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anybody provide some clues to develop VOLTE feature in Oneplus One?

If you r on stock rom i.e COS 13.1.2 then go to dialer, dial *#*#4636#*#*,
Select the first option.
Scroll down to bottom, you'll find OEM properties.
Click on that and select the 2nd option.

Does this actually works?

I enabled that option but still volte doesn't work.We might have to flash a custom rom to achieve this feature.

I think this needs probably enabled somewhere in the modem. And only oneplus can ship that feature.

it might be able, just put the positive hopes into this

On CM13 nightlies its enabled by default(and dont even allow do disable) '-'

the great thing OnePlus could do is to release all source code, from bootloader to radio(that would mean also the current adreno drivers if Qualcomm doesnt close it on their HAL or something like it) so the oneplus would be the true dev friendly device of all times

Could someone decompile the Jio4GVoice app and see what they do to place calls and may be try to integrate that in the phone's dialer?

That doesn't help. Because through the app, the call is placed through mobile data and not VoLTE.
Just like whatsapp or skype for instance.
The phone's dialer is not meant for that.

im using nightlies and when i access that "hidden" menu it counts as enabled and doesnt allow me to disable it, tho other people already mentioned what could it be and the possible ways to "fix" it.

Its very frustrating, in unable to use wifi, when using jio sim in OnePlus one, as enabling wifi, stops the LTE, & makes the phone unable to receive calls.

Yes,considering the fact that you're using a 3 years old device.
Sol- Use another carrier.

He has somehow created a volte patch for Xperia z2/z3,
Maybe if you talented ROM/kernel developers, could discuss with him, as to what he did !
& then develop a similar volte patch (with OPO specific modifications) & enable VoLTE on OnePlus One ?

Thank you for mentioning all of us. We all care very much about this matter and will look into this shortly. /s
Seriously, please don't ever tag a bunch of people (devs or otherwise) like that. It's really annoying, especially on unrelated topics or threads that some of us have consciously decided against participating in.
That being said, I took a look at the thread you linked anyways. The steps there depend on a modem that supports VoLTE. No bacon modem ever made supports VoLTE.
Don't expect VoLTE on bacon. Like people clamored about the possibility of getting FM radio to work on bacon when it first came out, this is a dead end.

Ok

[lettuce][TESTERS REQUIRED] LineageOS 14.1 Nightlies by [email protected]

Hi guys,
While surfing the internet I just found out that LineageOS 14.1 nightlies were being made by a developer called [email protected]
This is the website which I encountered: http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/yu-yuphoria-lineage-14-1-android-nougat-7-1-rom/
Probably its source is the official LineageOS/android_device_yu_lettuce folder in github, but its source is not mentioned anywhere and I cant find any forum thread about it.
I don't know what works and what doesn't.
I request someone to test it and check what works and what not, and especially volte.

Good work! I know you must have been super excited!
Dude this is awesome! I would also love to know how you are doing this so if I could ever hop in and help I'd be able to.
Aha! Sweet!
In case there's anything of interest in my messy repos to assist, here they be:
device / kernel / vendor
I'm still sick. lol. Always sick. And my computer is sold today to pay bills, so this project is dead for me for a while.
Glad to see y'all have continued though! This phone deserves a solid Lineage build, it's going to fly so well on that.
My kernel is a mess right now, I was just in the process of adding back in the full spectrum of frequencies (just to see if I could do it). Device and vendor repos both are fat and ripe for pruning. I was going by the add everything in first, then fix each lib and shim on boot. Perhaps not the smartest method (definitely not).
Also ms330/k330 repos up there, which were almost booting CM-13 fully, just some small lib errors. Last I checked nobody had anything built for the LG M1 yet, which is also a damn shame! I was close before I fell into the hospital.
Anyway, kickass that y'all back on the job.

Feel free to gank anything if you find it useful.
If you have any issues getting CM past that boot screen, I'd be willing to test and trawl the logs for solutions. I have *a lot* of experience in that specific situation, and love the diagnostics that come with it.
Once booting it'll be soo easy to get things running smooth.

Thanks for your hard work.
This appears to be a ms550 build as opposed to a k550 build. (metro v. tmobile).
Sympton: Wifi is unable to detect any hotspots and wifi will not actually turn on.
Can you provide instructions or any resources for replacing the radio/modem with the proper partitition from these files?
Is it nothing more than going into fastboot and flashing a modem partition or even simpler changing apns in the UI or in an sqlite database?
Thanks again.

So are you making a Lineage 14.1 rom that is compatible for the k550? And is the cyanogen rom complete for installations or is there any bugs? I really hate using lg's ui. P.S. I'm a newbie to this stuff

Does it really matter?
I believe kernel sources are released once only and there are so many devices that get ROMs and Kernels made for them - years after their official development has stopped. For eg. - If sources are released for Lollipop (and not for Nougat), LOS is also there for Nougat.
Could you please clarify and how much time will it take for an Oreo kernel (tentatively in your opinion, obviously)?
@sooti could you pitch in?
we should be thankful that we got the second latest kernel source code. this is enough for the great developer gang to get the custom kernel and rom working for MIA1.

Generally speaking any new android version simply requires a few commits to support the latest features especially security, they are usually common across all devices with some devices needing some extra patches to bring it up to oreo (usually selinux related) but for the most part its not complicated, The complex part is setting up the device tree and vendor IMO, for custom roms that is. but i'm not a huge kernel dev so i don't know.

Thanks for clearing that up. Considering many devs have switched to from other devices running Oreo, I don't think it'll be an issue then.

Face unlock won't work because its xiaomi's own implementation
Fingerprint will work
Bluetooth works but didn't try any audio device on it

Sorry for the naïve question, but is it likely that Xiaomi's face unlock feature can be incorporated within custom ROMs? Presumably they'd have to really honour their commitment to be developer friendly in order to release this, but is it anticipated?

Well... No matter our device is so called "developer friendly". But main thing is "if" AOSP's upstream supports it. For example fingerprint works on custom roms because its api is already available for us,no need to do extra fuss to rewrite the code. But about that face recognition IR sensor

Sorry bro i rolled back to miui. But about notification as far i remember
Its same time was showing at left and sim/battery was on right. Don't know about notification, yea but we got heads up display feature, which is far better than miui's implementation of heads up display

Super thumb up :good:
Just questions:
- Still no face unlock?
- How's the picture, comparing to stock?
- Bluetooth, for audio?
- Any lag, bug, force close?
- How's the compatibility with notch?
I'm so eager to move...:fingers-crossed:
Also, could you provide the link of the last system image

pixel experience p work fine.
Official rom thread is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...ce-development/9-0-pixelexperience-p-t3833294
Also has newer version (14 SEP) in OP.
I must flash disabile Force encryption After the rom?
When I try to flash the image on my phone, it only takes a few seconds for it to work (which I find quite suspicious since it's quite heavy) and then when I want to reboot it bootloop once and then go to fastboot mode. Do you have any idea what am I doing wrong? I've tried redownloading the image, extracting it again, flashing it a few times nothing seems to work.

Hello does Arnova8G2 Gcam work?
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...f/GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk
No arnova ,just Google camera .
On the main thread someone said that the last update (which doesn't boot on our device) fixed the notch compatibility. So how is it on the previous build? Can we see them properly? Are they cropped?

Can you please drop a screenshot with notch hidden?
And by the way what are steps you followed to install OOS?
Formatting
1. Dalvik
2.) Cache
3.) System
4.) Data
or
1. Dalvik
2.) Cache
3.) System
4.) Internal Storage?
I need installation steps?
And the dialer gets stuck when dialing the code *#06#, the reset option does not work, you need to use format data option in TWRP recovery ----> some issues found bu I can anytime ignore it, not complaining though.
Please guide with the installation steps

The dailer freezes while checking imei using *#06#, clearing dialer data fixes though.
No need to clear internal data. First procedure is fine.
