Since it looks like we are going to have to return our Note 7's :crying: , will the Gear S2 Classic work well with the new Google Pixel phones, or is it better to stay within the Samsung family?

Gear S2 works with just about any Android phone with at least 1.5gb of RAM.

I picked up the Galaxy Note 3 last week and decided to get the Galaxy Gear as well. So I thought to try and pair up the Gear with my Galaxy S4 and it works. Whether and S-Voice seems not working.
Here is how I got both working.
Thanks for the video, I am sure it will help a lot of people. However, it has been known for a little while now that the Galaxy gear would be based on 4.2.2 firmware so it shouldn't be any surprise that it works with the AT&T S4.
My thoughts was that the Gear Manager would not install. I see that Samsung will release an update for the weather and S-Voice to be able to work with S4.
Ok, so I am a sammy fan and have had samsung products since the Omnia.
Currently on an S5 (from an S, S2, S4 ...) and want a smart watch.
Drooled over what you guys were doing with the original gear but never got one.
Now I have an opportunity to get the Gear 2. I've looked at Moto 360 and LG R but they dont "do much".
So I am gonna buy a Gear 2 today but would love it if you guys could answer a couple of questions which I havent found the answer to on the interweb.
- I know the Gear 2 is Tizen but can it still run Android apps?
- Are there many apps (decent ones) for it?
- How customizable is it compared to the original gear?
- Are there custom ROM's for it?
Basically what I'd like to know is, if I buy this watch (6 months after release) will I still be customizing it in a year?

I'm an Apple funboy- I admit but I just sold my Apple Watch Nike + edition and got my self a new Samsung gear s3 frontier and I love it!!!
I installed the latest beta on my iPhone and it works well but not as perfect as I wish.
Is there anywhere an iOS users forum ? That I can ask questions and thing about stuff that I wish I had with this perfect combination of an Apple product and Samsung.

iPhone user here. Wanted to get a Frontier but no stock everywhere in my city.
I wouldn't call myself an Apple fanboy, but I was really happy with my iPhone 6s Plus until I have seen Gear S3.
I tried to use the watch with the beta Gear Manager but it was so much limited, so I decided to give Galaxy S7 Edge a try. Risky move, I know...
Loving both Gear S3 and and Galaxy S7 Edge so far. Much better than I anticipated actually, no regrets yet...

So I know there is limitation on some features (don't know if it has gotten better in the past one year) but I wan't to know will it connect and will it have issues with the features which work. I just bought Galaxy Z Flip 3 and despite all my efforts I can't pair my Gear 2 ;(( The mobile can see it but just won't connect. Anyone got a cracked version of Samsung wereable or any workaround this problem? I really don't want to change to new smartwatch because Gear 2 is much superior with its videocamera all other smartwatches are basically the same crap in different cover..

im currently using the same watch with my note 8. last year i ad a warning saying that galaxy gear 2 will only work from samsung phones 2021 and older. here's the link
