[Q] Unlocked Galaxy S - No Data Connection on 2Degrees NZ

I have just bought a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 that has been unlocked from the T-Mobile UK network. I'm on the 2Degrees network in NZ however the Internet data connection doesn't work.
I have changed all the APN settings to match the 2Degrees network except that 2Degrees says the APN Type should say Default however there is no option for me to type this in - the only options I get are 'Internet + MMS', 'Internet', and 'MMS'.
I have tried entering in all the different options I can including not setting the APN Type (it defaults to internet anyway) and nothing works.
Any suggestions?
Do a hard reset to the phone and then try again?
I assume you mean turning it off then back on again - tried that, no luck. You don't mean completely resetting the device do you? How would I do that? Would I lose any data?

You would loose data, are you using a stock rom or custom rom. are you rooted
Don't know what custom or stock rom means so I assume I'm stock, yes I rooted it yesterday trying to do something else.
The firmware was upgraded just before I got it but I'm told it used to work just fine once the settings were correct.
Anyone know the way to set it up correctly?
Did you ever get this problem solved? I've heard a few people report the same issue but have not seen a difinitive solution.

[Q] Tethering stopped working

Since the FW update to A.5.77 I can't tether any more.
The devices connect to the phone alright, but no data is coming through.
Has anyone else the same problem and/or found a solution? I had the internet settings re-sent, and restarted. No difference.
Post your APN info, I've had this, and solved it.

Data Bug on 5.0.2

I managed to side-loaded and update my phone to 5.0.2. After updating though I am unable to connect to mobile data network. I wiped cache and factory erased my phone and even bought a new sim in case the sim I was using was faulty. Any help would be appreciated figuring out the reason i am unable to connect to mobile data.
Edit: I managed to fix this after getting my sim 1 reader fixed and now it seems to me that the lollipop update supports mobile data only on sim 1.
You have XT1033, right?
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Free
I had a similar problem, i had to set proxy settings to non in apn settings...
goto-settings>more(in wireless and networks )>mobile networks>access point names>click the selected the access point remove anything written in proxy part.
This might work
There is no such problems here. Everything seems fine. Little better than KitKat in connectivity.

I tried it. But it doesn't seem to work. As far as i can tell the data switch itself isnt working. Turning it on or off keeps the data connection on off mode.
Ps. Forgot to mention that my sim 1 slot is broken. So, i am currently using Sim2.
I've had the same issue twice after reboots. Then I reboot again and it's gone.
For some reason it adds lots of data usage from "deleted users and apps" and it can't connect to the network of my SIM card, it's a bug obviously but rebooting fixes it for me.
I have an XT1032 modded to XT1033 5.0.2.

Need help with hotspot

I recently had my Sprint Note 5 Unlocked. Now I am looking for my hotspot button and its not here. I can manually search for the hotspot and find it in settings. When I turn it on it says its on. But I get no icon on my status bar. I see it in other devices but it will not connect.
Anyone else have this problem or any solutions?

Know what you might need to do? Install foxfi, the free version- and then run the hotspot from that app. After that, the config that app sets up might fix your issue.
If that does not work, try to sideload the foxfi key app. Now that is a paid app, so if you want to go through other means to get it that is up to you. Then, use the main foxfi app again. It should work.
I noticed that foxfi has some type of certificate a few years ago, that fixes issues that can come from using root to enable native tethering. It worked then, and it worked for me now on an SM-N920P.
Let me know if it works.
I researched and tried everything I could but running GSM on our CDMA phone simply would never let me increase number of connections above 1. You can change it up to 10 IF you don't care about GSM phone calls and switch the radio to the regular Cdma/lte/auto. I just did that since I did not want or need calls while I was using it as my homes wifi source.

Samsung S7 (refurb) won't remember wifi password after reboot or turn off wifi

I bought an unlocked Samsung S7 model # SM-G930P. It was a Sprint phone. It is now on Bell. It is on Android 6.0.1
I can't figure out how to get the phone to remember wifi passwords. Every time the phone is rebooted or if I turn off the wifi and turn it back on, then the password is gone.
I have searched and not found a solution.
I have tried clearing the phone cache. I have checked my APN settings. I have factory reset.
What else can I try? Thanks for any suggestions.
