Hey friend, im new in this forum. I have a phone Galaxy J500G with build number J500GXXU1A0J1.
I want to flash custom recovery TWRP from @CTXz in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3219901
I folllow instruction, OEM unlocking i set enable in Developer Option.
And i flash via odin and success, but when i get into a Recovery Mode, the Recovery is still in Stock Recovery.
Why?
Try to flash via flashify or dd

Using flashify must be root? My phone its not root, I want rooting my phone after twrp flash to my phone using superuser.zip.
Because i have read if rooted by e53 file from chainfire cannot be flash Exsposed, it's true @CTXz?

Messi has two separate posts in the J700T/J700T1 forum three sub-sections below this one. You need access to a pc. Download the recovery.tar.md5 image and if you want download the kernel he's ported as well boot.tar.md5. You HAVE to flash the TWRP recovery. Then just flash any superSU 2.78 or later then you're rooted. Also make sure you go to Settings, Developer Options and tick OEM Unlock and enable USB debugging first.
Hi,
I've got an N8013 that's on android 4.1.2. Also, the USB connector is somehow damaged so the device is not recognized by a pc. Still charges ok. I tried a different USB cable, and it appears that it is in fact the connector on the tablet that is damaged.
Anyway, I would like to get a more recent os installed (Lineage, probably), as this one is limiting the usefulness of the device.
Is there a way to install TWRP via the SD Card? The device is not rooted.
Thanks for the help.
If you have custom recovery then yes.
So is it possible to install a custom recovery on this particular tablet?
As far as I can tell I either need root access or a usb connection to do so. Assuming the usb is shot, is it still possible to root this particular tablet? I tried the ExynosAbuse apk, but it wouldn't install. I'm guessing it's for an earlier version.
Only question to answer .
Do you have a custom or stock recovery .
Custom recovery flash TWRP or a custom rom from ext sd card
.Stock recovery = fix usb port nothing can be flashed .
Other option is try rooting your tablet via kingroot.. If successful install the app called rashr then flash the .IMG of twrp
The tablet does not have a custom recovery.
Thanks for the heads-up on king root. I'll check it out.
Ok, that did the trick.
Kingroot to root the tablet.
Used root access with a terminal emulator to write TWRP to internal storage via dd.
Installed LineageOS through TWRP.
Thanks for the help

Can i install custom recovery with that?
Usual is to follow instructions for required rom .
Most use TWRP flashed via ODIN .

This is an updated root and unroot method for the s7/s7 edge.
I updated the zip file with the latest eng boot
Uploaded the latest stock files
Credit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616
Use V10 Odin Files this will allow you to root the s7/s7 sdge on the latest firmware. (02/09/2020)
Directions:
This works for Oreo And Nougat Roms
As always there is a chance of bricking your phone
1. Download and extract S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root.zip
2. Reboot your phone to download mode
3. Inside the S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root folder you will find an Odin_Firmware folder. Use Odin and flash the Eng Boot Image for your
phone
4. Once phone is rebooted and connected to computer click on the cmd-here.exe and type root.bat in the command window and hit enter
5. Follow directions on the command window
6. You can only use system root on Oreo
7. Once root is done and root bat closes leave your phone alone for a few minutes it may reboot a couple of times
8. Sprint Users This should work for you as well just let me know if your phone reboots with eng boot.img installed like it did on nougat while try too run the root.bat. I may need to change some things
9. With this system root do not update su binary if in anyway you get something asking you to update binaries ignore it. You can also disable notifications about updating binaries. This will not affect su app
10. Don't flash any superuser zips in recovery that are not made by me
S7 Oreo Nougat Adb Advanced Root V13: https://archive.org/download/s7oreo...Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V13 (02-08-2020).zip
Return to stock:
Open odin
Reboot in download mode
Apply files
Plus in device
Flash to device

None of the odin files worked for G930PVPSBCTA1
I'm on version G930PVPSBCTA1 and none of the odin files would flash. Fails immediately when flashing. Am I doing something wrong?

Well that sucks. I highly doubt we'll see a root method then at this point. Thanks for replying.
eng boot v11

I'm trying to root g935u and see every tread stuck on v11 bootloader.
Seems it may help: h_t_tps:// support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=234247
I have no access or knowledge to use that alone.
I get the same error message as you on a Verizon version

So actually i want to root my phone and for that i have to unlock my bootloader , but there is no oem unlock option in devloper option, i tried that time change method, and didn't work, and i tried fastboot, but fastboot isn't detecting my device, (i checked drivers in device manager, but there was no yellowed drivers (i forgot that symbol name) in other device section. So can anyone help me with this?
To root a phone's Android it's NOT required to unlock its bootloader.
I know , but i want to use superuser method, not by any apps likes kingo root or king root cause of ads issue.
