Flash stock 6.0.1 marshmellow N920TUVS4DPH2 SM-N920T re-root again - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hello, I was rooted with old TEHK rom on 6.0.1, but wanted to update to latest rom clean from scratch. I looked for latest firmware at the time to ODIN flash it at the moment (N920TUVS4DPH2 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) 09/08/2016). Can't find a fast stable download since it's almost 2G's.
I used a really nice application called Samsung Smart Switch to download latest stock in the background (I guess), and install it easily. Success!!!
Don't know how to root, and install TWRP on 6.0.1, so I followed TEHK guide for stock 5.1.1 rooting and TWRP install... stuck at Kernel is not Seandroid enforcing bootloop after flashing Kernel and TWRP through ODIN.
I can't seem to download N920TUVS4DPH2 firmware right now, but even if I did, how do I root that firmware, and flash TWRP for it?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Thanks mate. I found an easy solution on my own.
Use Smart Switch on "Download mode", click on "More", and then the emergency recovery option to go back to stock. Write down your model number, and your SN number. Your SN number can be retrieved by going into "Download mode" (turn off, and hold Home, volume up, and power at the same time), and click on Home button. Smart switch will download, and install latest firmware for you, instead of finding the latest firmware on your own, and using ODIN to flash it. After this, I just found a nice rooting guide on the intrawebs:
Guide to root Marshmellow 6.0.1 on Galaxy Note 5 variants

[Q] C-ROM locked SM-G9200

Hi, I hope somebody can help me.
I have a Chinese SM-G9200. I did the following:
- pingpong root
- installed Flashify to install TWRP (success) and it asked to reboot
but during reboot now it says "Custom binary blocked by C-ROM" in pink on the top left corner of the screen of the boot Galaxy logo, then it shuts down :crying:
I cannot have it to complete the boot sequence anymore. See the picture attached.
Also when I try recovery mode is the same pink writing and then shuts down.
Only possibility is to go in download mode, but if I try to upload with Odin, the usual screen that says:
Installation Failure
You need to unlock your device to install a custom OS.
For information about how to unlock, please refer to your device information at wwwsamsungcom/cn.
Please press the power key to restart.
Please somebody help me to get back the phone to life!!! how can I unblock it?
thanks
try to flash only stock recovery, and only from your original rom. if boot's just unlock bootloader with crome aplication found on galaxy store

you need to first install CROM from Galaxy app store and then unclock the bootloader. CROM is official Samsung software.

well... I've installed TWRP, but the touchscreen doesn't work, and also the buttons don't work in TWRP. How can I move the cursor?
I need to install the gapps...
I've installed TWRP 2.8.6.2. Is there any other version or any other recovery tool that works?
Or: is there any other way to install the gapps on this chinese S6?
Thanks for the support!!!
Ciccetti,
Could you tell me what steps you have taken to put the phone back to life. My phone always stuck at the logo screen like yours.

you need to reinstall the exact stock ROM for your mobile. You can find it for example on the sammobile website.
then install it with Odin: you can find the procedure by googling. the phone should not complain about "installing custom software", because it is the stock ROM.
once you are done, go on the galaxy store (icon on the phone) and search for C-ROM app. Install it and unlock your phone.
once done, you can reinstall TWRP with Flashify.
One hint: at the end of the flashify flashing, do not hit reboot button, otherwise the phone will only boot in TWRP and will not boot anymore into normal mode, and you have to reflash everything again.
Instead, after the flashify, do not press reboot, but hold the power button until the popup comes up and then press power off. Then after the phone is well off, keep volume up, home and power to boot into TWRP. Then you will be able to boot again into the normal phone.
Problem is: I can't get the touchscreen to work on TWRP and also the hardware buttons. How can I install the gapps?
So the stock rom should include the stock recovery so that once Odin finishes installation, it will replace TWRP recovery and the phone should be able to bypass the boot lock?

ok. found the way to install gapps using flashify.
telling flashify to install gapps through twrp doesn't require to use any button or touch in twrp. so now it is all set!!! :victory:
Do I need to locate the exact version of the stock rom in the phone? if it is a different (either older or newer) version, will it work? I ask this because I rooted the phone by pingpong root about three weeks ago and since then, Samsung has updated at least twice of their official stock rom.

Galaxy S6 bought in China SM-G9200
root with Pingpong (google it)
download C-ROM from the Galaxy Store to unlock it from flashing custom roms
download TWRP Chinese version (the "normal" one is not responsive to touch screen), with the English translation (for example, google "SVA SM-G9200" and download G9200-TWRP-2.8.6.0-CN(0601).tar and S6_TWRP_English_theme.zip)
Copy the English theme for TWRP on the phone (extract ui.zip from archive, put it into "/sdcard/TWRP/theme/" directory)
activate the USB debug mode on the phone (google "how to ...")
Install TWRP with Odin 3.10.6 (google "how to ...")
Boot the phone in normal mode
google "Flashify apk", download it and install it
run Flashify, click install GAPPS (choose gapps 5.0), choosing the TWRP option
DONE!!! now you have a S6 dual sim with GAPPS and a working TWRP!!!
NB: KNOX gets tripped and Triangle away doesn't work (yet)

Google Play Services on G9200 CHC
Absolutely Awesome :good: You guys saved my life with this solution having almost given up on my G9200 CHC version entirely.
No matter what I tried I always kept getting the "Google Services stopped working" message, even after I had rooted the phone. Then I did the mistake of updating to latest official firmware via Samsung Switch - only made everything worse.
If you did it anyway, here's how to fix it, and get back on track so you can apply the solution provided in this thread:
1. Download the firmware version that was originally installed on the phone (in my case G9200ZCU1AOD9)
2. Boot the phone in download mode and push the original firmware via Odin 3.10.6
3. Boot the phone normally and let it get to the Samsung logo - where it will get stuck/freeze
3. Now enter recovery mode (hold down Volume Up, Power and Home until the boot logo appears)
4. now Wipe data / factory reset and Wipe cache partition, then boot your phone normally.
5. The rest was piece of cake once I found this thread
I tried a million ways to get Gapps on my phone without rooting, but none of them work, even many methods with rooting never worked for me. This one worked, and everything is running smoothly now.
Thanks everyone.......

Good Root Guides for 5.1.1 G920F

Hi guys,
First post on here ever so excuse any ignorant forum violations.
I'm living the hard life without root and custom rom at the moment but hoping that can change.
Anyone able to point me in the direction of a good guide/ guidelines for rooting the below?
Model: SM-G920F
Version: 5.1.1
Build Number: LMY47X.G920FXXU2BOG8
Would also be good if we could get a list of the best step by step rooting guides going - specifically from the initial rooting phase right the way through to flashing a rom.
Thanks in advance!
I'm not rooted for the time being, but this is the list of steps I gathered during my long searches on this topic:
1 - Odin the most recent stock Samsung firmware; THIS is the one I flashed yesterday with full success
2 - Download and copy to the device' internal SD the custom ROM, custom kernel and whatever you want to flash from recovery
3 - Download and use Odin to flash TWRP custom recovery, un-ticking auto reboot; THIS is the TWRP thread
4 - Power off the device and boot it straight into TWRP recovery
5 - Flash the custom ROM and kernel of your choice and reboot
In my case, I plan to perform an additional step - let's call it step 2b - that is to Odin the leaked engineering bootloader, which let you root without tripping Knox but loosing fingerprint scanner functionality. THIS is the relevant thread.
I'll gladly hear from other members if that's about it or there are missing steps.
Thanks for that reply! That's the kind of step by step I was looking for. Just really insightful to see how individuals view the process on a step by step basis.
In terms of your step 1:
"Odin the most recent stock Samsung firmware; THIS is the one I flashed yesterday with full success"
Does that mean, despite me being on the latest official Samsung Firmware without root at the moment, that I can still Odin a previous stock firmware in order to be root compatible?
Thanks again

Short answer: no, the step 1 is not needed to be root compatible, but is advisable because the COH2 build is newer the the BOG8 one and contains various improvements over the older one.

So i just googled a little bit and i found an spanish tutorial how to root the SM-G920F on 5.1.1 do i deciced to translate it…hopefully i translated everything correct
First of all:
- Disable Reactivation lock by going into Settings -> Lock screen and security -> Find My Mobile -> Login with your Samsung Account and then disable Reactivation lock
- Disable Fingerprint screen lock type by going into Settings -> Lock screen and security -> Screen lock type and select any other screen type than Fingerprint
1.) Download this and install it: http://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/
2.) Download Odin from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
3.) Download the enginnering-bootloader from here (btw…write your email down in there to get the downloadlink): http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/505411/G920F Engineering Bootloader 5.0.2.zip
4.) Download the latest 2.8.7.1 TWRP recovery from here: https://dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/
5.) Download the latest UniBase Kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...mod-kernel-t3100395/post60533128#post60533128
6.) Copy your kernel on the phone
7.) Shut down device and start in Download Mode (with the phone turned off keep pressing on power, volume down and home at the same time until a green screen pops up, then you'll need to press on the volume up key)
8.) First you'll need to flash the engineering bootloader. Open ODIN and click on BT and select the appropriate sbin file downloaded at step 2. Flash it and wait for the device to reboot.
Don't be alarmed by the green text that will appear in the top left corner when the Samsung logo is being displayed. It's 100% normal and the device hasn't suffered any damage.
9.) Enter Download Mode again and this time in ODIN, go to options and uncheck the Reboot device. Click on AP and select the TWRP 2.8.7.1 and flash it.
10.) The device won't reboot because you've unchecked the Reboot device option. You'll need to press on power + volume down + home until the device turns off and then pres on power + volume up + home until you'll see the device enter the TWRP recovery. At that point the buttons can be released.
11.) Inside TWRP press on Install and navigate to where you have stored the custom kernel and rest of the files. Select the custom kernel
12.) Congratulations now you have a rooted G920F with Knox fuse intact!
13.) You can now flash anything custom on your device without tripping Knox as long as you don't flash the bootloader with a stock one, you need to keep the engineering bootloader flashed.
If you want to return to stock at anytime you can flash a full stock ROM from Samsung and all should be fine. Knox isn't going to get tripped because everything is returning to stock, even the bootloader.
14.) WARNING: Before flashing anything else after you've successfully acquired root you should backup your EFS partition just in case via TWRP recovery.
Only problem now is…the fingerprint-sensor won’t work with the 5.0.2 bootloader!

Want to unlock my bootloader + installing TWRP

Hello all,
I am receiving tomorrow my new Samsung S6 and i want to know some things.
- Unlocking bootloader (how to and link?) - have searched a bit and you need ODIN. but what is the best version etc
- Installing TWRP3.0 (how-to) - where to find the latest TWRP for samsung s6
And than one of the most important question, is there a stock android that doesent have any buys and fc's????
Bootloader is not locked on S6 (except AT&T variant)
You can get latest ODIN from here;
http://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
If you want to install TWRP on it;
1- Update it to Marsmallow if you haven't
2- Install this TWRP via ODIN;
http://arter97.com/browse/S6/kernel/13.1/g920fi/arter97-recovery-g920fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar.md5

No, and there probably won't be any for a long time, but there are lots of TouchWiz-based custom ROMs.

Correct. The only custom ROMs availability now and the foreseeable future are based on TouchWiz, not AOSP Android or CyanogenMod.

While reading topics on the internet (google)
If you THE smartphone update to 6.0 you do not need to unlock the bootloader. is this correct?
For now i will not use TWRP because there isent a proper ROM for the S6. is this because the exynoss CPU? because QSD cpu's have always the better support for CM..

Yes, there's no CM ROM for Exynos 7420 right now. Maybe in future? Who knows...

G920T : "dm-verity verification failed..." Help.

Hello, I currently have a G920T that had been working alright for quite some time. The problem is that yesterday while using it normally, it suddenly froze. Thought it was the app, but saw it was the phone itself. Thus, I decide to turn it on again. When I do that, the phone does not continue after the logo and has the LED light white, while blinking on an off. When I manage to enter the Android Recovery menu it gives me the error shown in the title. The phone's rooted and was unlocked, so I could use it with AT&T.
I attempted doing a full reset, upgraded it to Nougat, and I am still stuck. Any help's appreciated in advanced.
Would like to say, when I installed the official Nougat Upgrade for my phone, upon starting, it began installing some things and then preceded to start Deleting. Afterwards, it just froze again. Did I do something wrong?
To get past this issue you have to Root with SuperSU, this will patch the Kernel to disable DM-Verity and will allow you to boot normally.
If you don't want to get rooted then reflash stock firmware via odin. never do OTA updates as i have always say the come "Dirty"
EDIT: Sorry didn't read you were rooted, just re-root again with SuperSU (To get your Kernel patched again) for DM-Verity

Oh, that means CF-AutoRoot has not updated to work on 6.0 & 7.0 bootloader for G920T (It is updated and working on 6.0.1 & 7.0 for G920F)
Flash the stock ROM again. After that, flash TWRP and than flash latest SuperSU zip via TWRP.

I tried everything i could find and nothing worked i just stuck with 3.10
Try flash first Stock ROM Nougat than Superman 2.90 ;]
I had Oreo Stock and back to Nougat Stock without problems.
Superman 2.90 could need Nougat Stock ROM
Same here.
Was using SuperMan 3.1.0 but was disappointed with Oreo.
installed stock Nougat ROM via odin 3.13, then TWRP and root, nxt SuperMan 2.9.0.
need time and patience.
Make sure your battery is fully charged. and you have stock latest NOUGAT ROM with adequate AP,BL,CP,CSC.
If you have FAIL at 1st attempt, do it again.
I had 2 FAILs before it PASSED.
Tip:
When your Odin process will FAIL, but process isnt finished yet, disconnect phone from laptop and turn off holding power button, Phone will restart into DL mode with big triangle on it saying to use SmartSwitch for PC to recover the OS.
turn it of again and when screen is off but before the vibra, press and hold PWR+Vol DWN+Home, phone will go into normal DLmode, connect then into laptop and press Vol UP to confirm Odin Mode in Download Mode.
Then using Odin, install OEM Nougat OS.
This is the method that worked for me and had successfully installed Nougat.
After that, boot the system, unlock the Dev options in setting and turn on OEM unlock before you go for TWRP and root.
hope it will help.
Goodluck.

I installed Superman Oreo rom and want to go back to the Nougat version, I wiped the phone and flashed Nougat but it just got stuck in a boot loop.It seems the bootloader was updated to version 3 and nougat uses version 2.Does anyone know how I can fix this? I tried flashing the bootloader and modem through Odin but it gives an error.

Hope this helps:
Go back to Oreo or whatever ROM you can use
Goto settings > developer options
Enable OEM unlock
Now try flashing nougat if you stuck on bootloop then install a custom ROM that is nougat, then try to flash stock nougat. If it still doesn't work there is nothing I can do use a custom nougat ROM. I recommend ultimate nougat

So is there any method to downgrade the ****ing bootloader?
Mine is ver.3 and need to flash ver.2.
I realy not want to stuck on Oreo. Oreo realy have no Benefits.
There is no way to downgrade the bootloader. Samsung blocked bootloader downgrades starting with the S3.
But why cant we just install the nougat bootloader and modem as .zip from twrp if we are on an Oreo rom?
Is this not possible?
