Hi, I hope somebody can help me.
I have a Chinese SM-G9200. I did the following:
- pingpong root
- installed Flashify to install TWRP (success) and it asked to reboot
but during reboot now it says "Custom binary blocked by C-ROM" in pink on the top left corner of the screen of the boot Galaxy logo, then it shuts down :crying:
I cannot have it to complete the boot sequence anymore. See the picture attached.
Also when I try recovery mode is the same pink writing and then shuts down.
Only possibility is to go in download mode, but if I try to upload with Odin, the usual screen that says:
Installation Failure
You need to unlock your device to install a custom OS.
For information about how to unlock, please refer to your device information at wwwsamsungcom/cn.
Please press the power key to restart.
Please somebody help me to get back the phone to life!!! how can I unblock it?
thanks

you need to first install CROM from Galaxy app store and then unclock the bootloader. CROM is official Samsung software.

well... I've installed TWRP, but the touchscreen doesn't work, and also the buttons don't work in TWRP. How can I move the cursor?
I need to install the gapps...
I've installed TWRP 2.8.6.2. Is there any other version or any other recovery tool that works?
Or: is there any other way to install the gapps on this chinese S6?
Thanks for the support!!!
Ciccetti,
Could you tell me what steps you have taken to put the phone back to life. My phone always stuck at the logo screen like yours.

you need to reinstall the exact stock ROM for your mobile. You can find it for example on the sammobile website.
then install it with Odin: you can find the procedure by googling. the phone should not complain about "installing custom software", because it is the stock ROM.
once you are done, go on the galaxy store (icon on the phone) and search for C-ROM app. Install it and unlock your phone.
once done, you can reinstall TWRP with Flashify.
One hint: at the end of the flashify flashing, do not hit reboot button, otherwise the phone will only boot in TWRP and will not boot anymore into normal mode, and you have to reflash everything again.
Instead, after the flashify, do not press reboot, but hold the power button until the popup comes up and then press power off. Then after the phone is well off, keep volume up, home and power to boot into TWRP. Then you will be able to boot again into the normal phone.
Problem is: I can't get the touchscreen to work on TWRP and also the hardware buttons. How can I install the gapps?
So the stock rom should include the stock recovery so that once Odin finishes installation, it will replace TWRP recovery and the phone should be able to bypass the boot lock?

ok. found the way to install gapps using flashify.
telling flashify to install gapps through twrp doesn't require to use any button or touch in twrp. so now it is all set!!! :victory:
Do I need to locate the exact version of the stock rom in the phone? if it is a different (either older or newer) version, will it work? I ask this because I rooted the phone by pingpong root about three weeks ago and since then, Samsung has updated at least twice of their official stock rom.

root with Pingpong (google it)
download C-ROM from the Galaxy Store to unlock it from flashing custom roms
download TWRP Chinese version (the "normal" one is not responsive to touch screen), with the English translation (for example, google "SVA SM-G9200" and download G9200-TWRP-2.8.6.0-CN(0601).tar and S6_TWRP_English_theme.zip)
Copy the English theme for TWRP on the phone (extract ui.zip from archive, put it into "/sdcard/TWRP/theme/" directory)
activate the USB debug mode on the phone (google "how to ...")
Install TWRP with Odin 3.10.6 (google "how to ...")
Boot the phone in normal mode
google "Flashify apk", download it and install it
run Flashify, click install GAPPS (choose gapps 5.0), choosing the TWRP option
DONE!!! now you have a S6 dual sim with GAPPS and a working TWRP!!!
NB: KNOX gets tripped and Triangle away doesn't work (yet)

Google Play Services on G9200 CHC
Absolutely Awesome :good: You guys saved my life with this solution having almost given up on my G9200 CHC version entirely.
No matter what I tried I always kept getting the "Google Services stopped working" message, even after I had rooted the phone. Then I did the mistake of updating to latest official firmware via Samsung Switch - only made everything worse.
If you did it anyway, here's how to fix it, and get back on track so you can apply the solution provided in this thread:
1. Download the firmware version that was originally installed on the phone (in my case G9200ZCU1AOD9)
2. Boot the phone in download mode and push the original firmware via Odin 3.10.6
3. Boot the phone normally and let it get to the Samsung logo - where it will get stuck/freeze
3. Now enter recovery mode (hold down Volume Up, Power and Home until the boot logo appears)
4. now Wipe data / factory reset and Wipe cache partition, then boot your phone normally.
5. The rest was piece of cake once I found this thread
I tried a million ways to get Gapps on my phone without rooting, but none of them work, even many methods with rooting never worked for me. This one worked, and everything is running smoothly now.
Thanks everyone.......

Hi Everyone, This is my first post. I am not a developer. Hope this will help you to Root your Note 4 N910C on 5.1.1, if you have any suggestions for me, you're most welcome
Note: I am not responsible for any damage of your phone, kindly read the steps carefully and follow one by one. I have done this with my Galaxy Note 4 N910C on Andoid 5.1.1. Its 100% working.I have read many thread and websites, I only find Root Note 4 N910C with 5.0.1 bootloader, there was no any option without 5.0.1 bootloader one.
So, with this method you can stay with 5.1.1 Bootloader and can Root your phone. So, here is method I am going to explain you.
First Make sure that your phone's battery is charged above 60%
STEP-1
You need these Files to Root Your Note 4 N910C with Bootloader 5.1.1
Odin3_v3.10.7
SpaceX Kernel
TWRP Recovery
SuperSU
STEP-2
Connect your phone with your computer, You must have installed Samsung USB Drivers in your computer (if you don't have drivers, you can download Samsung USB Drivers Click here)
STEP-3
Copy SpaceX Kernel and SuperSU files in SD Card - Note: I have done this with SpaceX Kernel, if you want to use GoogyMax Kernel or any other Cutom Kernel you can try it. However, I highly recommend SpaceX Kernel.
STEP-4
Disconnect your phone and Switch off then put it into Download Mode (Press HOME+POWER+VOLUME DOWN) Buttons at same time until logo (GALAXY NOTE 4 Powered by Android LOGO) appears.
STEP-5
Open Odin3_v3.10.7 file in your computer (I will recommend open the file as an Administrator - right click on the file.)
STEP-6
Connect your phone with Computer - After Connecting, you will see in the first box [Blue Color] COM:6 or 8 or any other number.
---> if you will not see this please reinstall the Samsung USB Drivers and restart your computer and reconnect your phone.
STEP-6
Click on AP and select TWRP Recovery File from your computer, you have downloaded
Before Click on the Start, please make sure that your phone should not restart. Because it may orverwrite the stock recovery
You Can Do this:
When you see PASS on the window REMOVE The Battery or Press VOLUME UP+POWER+HOME buttons, it will show you the TWRP Recovery page
STEP-7
If you want your can Backup your Stock Kernel, if you want to update your Stock RoM, or install updates in future.
here are the steps:
1. select backup in TWRP Recovery
2. check Boot and uncheck all other options
3. swipe the backup option - and it will save in your internal storage - or you can also choose external storage option, its there
STEP-8
1. Now Install SpaceX Kernel - Click on the install and find SpaceX Kernel and install
2. Go Back and again Install SuperSU
STEP-9
Restart your phone
Your are Done Now!
If you want to check if you phone has been rooted or not,
1. Open SuperSU app in your phone go to setting -> Access (default) -> make it Grant.
2. Download Root Checker from Play Store and check if your ROM is Rooted.
Thank you!
I am new, please let me know if you have any suggests/advise for me.
Thanks, followed instructions to the letter and it's working for me

Hello all,
I am receiving tomorrow my new Samsung S6 and i want to know some things.
- Unlocking bootloader (how to and link?) - have searched a bit and you need ODIN. but what is the best version etc
- Installing TWRP3.0 (how-to) - where to find the latest TWRP for samsung s6
And than one of the most important question, is there a stock android that doesent have any buys and fc's????
Bootloader is not locked on S6 (except AT&T variant)
You can get latest ODIN from here;
http://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
If you want to install TWRP on it;
1- Update it to Marsmallow if you haven't
2- Install this TWRP via ODIN;
http://arter97.com/browse/S6/kernel/13.1/g920fi/arter97-recovery-g920fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar.md5
3- Boot up to TWRP and flash this ZIP before do anything on TWRP;
https://download.chainfire.eu/932/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.zip

No, and there probably won't be any for a long time, but there are lots of TouchWiz-based custom ROMs.
so basicly i dont need any customezation? because you telling me there will not be released a custom stock rom? Even a CM13 rom
thats poor services!

Correct. The only custom ROMs availability now and the foreseeable future are based on TouchWiz, not AOSP Android or CyanogenMod.

He need dm-verity disabled boot image for working TWRP backups. That's why I suggest him to install this ZIP.
While reading topics on the internet (google)
If you THE smartphone update to 6.0 you do not need to unlock the bootloader. is this correct?
For now i will not use TWRP because there isent a proper ROM for the S6. is this because the exynoss CPU? because QSD cpu's have always the better support for CM..

As I said before, there's no bootloader unlock because bootloader is factory-unlocked on Samsung devices.
If you want root, you should to use TWRP for install the latest SuperSU.
Yes, there's no CM ROM for Exynos 7420 right now. Maybe in future? Who knows...
is there a twrp that works because the original twrp that i download form twrp.me isent working getting a weird issue: recovery is not seandroid enforcing

But when i want to go in TWRP recovery i get the stock recovery! How to solve this issue
I'm having this issue as well on the T-Mobile variant. I have tried the unchecking auto reboot option in Odin and manually going to recovery. When I successfully flash according to Odin, I can't not get past the Recovery is not Seandroid enforcing boot.

Greetings from the AT&T S5 Forum!
We've recently discovered the usability of engineering firmwares in our journey to get root, as outlined here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/guide-merry-christmas-heres-t3516196
Now, I'm here to try to bring this same method to you guys! With the help of @jrkruse, here are the root instructions:
How it works:
These engineering firmwares are usually based on KitKat, and have their SELinux set to PERMISSIVE. This not only leaves the firmware very vulnerable to towelroot, but it also keeps SELinux from raining on our parade.
Thanks again to @jrkruse for the updated root instructions, and @mohammad.afaneh for the Safestrap!
Revised October 6, 2018.
Directions:
Before you get going, use this APK to check your eMMC chip's CID:
eMMC_CID_Checker_.apk
Your CID Number will be the first two numbers in the eMMC Box under "CID"
If the first two digits are "15," your bootloader is unlockable and you can install TWRP/AOSP ROMs.
If the first two digits are "11," your bootloader is not unlockable, but you can use rooted Lollipop ROMs that are based on TouchWiz (with the help of SafeStrap). You can also use non-rooted Marshmallow ROMs (based on TouchWiz) and flash mods with SafeStrap.
BACK UP YOUR STUFF NOW, YOUR STORAGE WILL BE WIPED!
If your eMMC CID starts with "15," start here:
1. Download and unzip this file: EMMC_15_Root_Bootloader_Unlock S5_QB2_PB1.zip
2. Reboot the phone to Download Mode (Pwr +Vol Dwn+Home)
3. Use Odin 3.12 and load the "COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_G900VVRU2APA1_VZW2APA1_2572656_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" firmware in the AP Slot
4. Flash and let the phone process the file. It will reboot twice and you should be dropped into Android within a minute and a half.
5. Copy the following files to your phone:
"RootS5" Folder and "EMMC_15_SafeStrap_QA1_6_0_1_MM_Bootloader_Unlock_AIO.zip",
and EMMC_15_VZW_QB2_STOCK_MAGISK_ROOT.zip
6. Use the File Manager (you can find it in the app drawer) to install Superuser.apk, Busybox.apk, tr_v2.apk, and SafeStrapKK.apk . Do not open anything yet.
7. Open towelroot and click "MAKE IT RAIN". It should tell you you have succeeded. Otherwise, reboot and try again.
8. Now open SuperSU and click "New User" to install it.
Once done, open SuperSU and update the SU binaries using the "NORMAL" method. It will tell you you need to reboot, but you can skip that. (If the Superuser install hangs for more than 5 minutes reboot phone and try to install it again.)
9. Now open the BusyBox app, grant SuperSU access and install BusyBox.
10. Now open SafeStrap, grant SuperSu access and click "install recovery". If the SafeStrap recovery fails to install, make sure BusyBox is installed by rerunning the BusyBox app (it will tell you if BusyBox is installed). If its not installed, click "install" again, reboot the phone, re-open SafeStrap and try to install recovery again
11. Once SafeStrap Recovery is installed click "reboot to SafeStrap Recovery".
12. Once in SafeStrap Recovery choose install and select EMMC_15_SafeStrap_QB2_6_0_1_MM_Bootloader_Unlock_AIO.zip
13. Install the zip. The phone will power off. Reboot the phone to TWRP Recovery with Pwr+VolUp+Home
14. You will now have an Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP recovery Installed. Now whoose Wipe > Advanced Wipe. Select Dalvik Cache; Data; System; Cache, and swipe the swipe to wipe bar. When done, click the back button, click Install, and choose:
EMMC_15_VZW_QB2_STOCK_MAGISK_ROOT.zip
You're done! You will have stock rooted Marshmallow QB2 Build installed with an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.
If your eMMC CID starts with "11," start here:
1. Download and unzip this file: EMMC_11_ Root S5_QB2_PB1.zip
2. Reboot Phone to Download Mode (Pwr +Vol Dwn+Home)
3. Use Odin 3.12 and load the COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_G900VVRU2APA1_VZW2APA1_2572656_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 in the AP Slot.
4. Flash and let the phone reboot. It will reboot to recovery and finish install then it will reboot and take about 20 seconds to boot.
5. Copy the following to the phone:
Root S5 Folder, EMMC_11_PB1_5_0_1_LL_Firmware_Bootloader.zip, EMMC_11_QA1_6_0_1_MM_Firmware_Bootloaders.zip, and the TouchWiz ROM you want to install.
12. Once in SafeStrap Recovery, choose what firmware you want to be on:
Lollipop 5.0 Firmware=EMMC_11_PB1_5_0_1_LL_Firmware_Bootloader.zip
Marsmhallow 6.0 Firmware=EMMC_11_QA1_6_0_1_MM_Firmware_Bootloaders.zip
13. Install the firmware zip, and then flash a TouchWiz Lollipop ROM. (Here is the latest stock rooted Lollipop Rom: VZW_BPB1_ODEX_DEODEX_V9.zip). You may want to download a copy of the latest SuperSu zip, and flash if installing a Lollipop ROM that is not rooted. Remember that you cannot root Marshmallow ROMs, so do not try and flash the SuperSu zip on a Marshmallow Rom (you will softbrick if you do).
14. After you install any Lollipop ROM, you may need to reinstall SafeStrap Recovery. Most of the time you don't have to and SafeStrap can be reached by flashing the KitKat Kernel in Download Mode with ODIN. But, in some cases, when flashing a ROM that flashes a system.img instead of a system folder, you may lose SafeStrap during install. This will be the case if you install the above ROM. You can reinstall it after the ROM is booted up. A Safestrap-G900V-4.04_LL_MM.apk is included that will flash a version of SafeStrap that will allow you to reboot to SafeStrap Recovery without flashing a KitKat kernel in Odin. Install BusyBox again from the BusyBox App in the RootS5 Folder. Install Safestrap-G900V-4.04_LL_MM.apk and make sure to grant SuperSU access. It may take a few seconds to prompt. If SafeStrap is not installed, click "Install Recovery". If Safestrap is still installed click on "Uninstall Recovery", close the app, and reopen it. It should say recovery is not installed. Now click on "Install Recovery". If this doesn't work, reboot the phone and try again. Once installed, you can just click reboot to SafeStrap from the SafeStrap app and you will reboot straight to SafeStrap. Remember to flash the appropriate Kernel when leaving SafeStrap!
Download and place these on your device:
LL_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip, and
MM_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip
If something goes wrong you can usually get back to SafeStrap by simply rebooting the phone to Download Mode and flashing NI2_stock_kernel.tar.md5. When the phone reboots, watch for the SafeStrap splash screen and enter SafeStrap.
WARNING: Do NOT change ANY boot options in SafeStrap. ROM slots cannot be used, so you must flash to the Stock ROM slot EVERY TIME OR YOU WILL SOFTBRICK. Some functions don't work in SafeStrap, like choosing an image file to flash directly. All image files must be flashed via zip file.
For CID11 users that have followed the above instructions and want to use Marshmallow:
QA1_MM_Firmware_With_QA1_Bootloader_CAUTION.zip=Marshmallow Firmware (use if flashing a MM TW ROM other than the one posted below). Just remember there is no root for Marshmallow ROMs, but having SafeStrap installed gives you the ability to do things like flash debloat Scripts, Mods, etc and the ability to go back to a rooted Lollipop ROM without going through the root process all over again. Simply flash the Lollipop ROM and EMMC_11_PB1_5_0_1_LL_Firmware_Bootloader.zip.
Here is a special ROM that includes SafeStrap, so you can flash a Marshmallow ROM and still be able to use SafeStrap to flash things. You will not have root but you can still access SafeStrap. VZW_QB2_STOCK_SAFESTRAP_ONLY_V1.zip More Instructions about this can be found HERE
When using a MM ROM, it is necessary to flash the KitKat Kernel with Odin to enter SafeStrap. When leaving SafeStrap, make sure to flash MM_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip which is necessary to leave SafeStrap (This zip will be placed on storage automatically with the above ROM and you also download it in instructions above.) Just navigate to the .MM_KERNEL_SS-FF folder located on both Internal and External storage.
i'll odin my spare s5 to stock later if i get the chance and let you know if this works on my g900v.

This does not unlock bootloaders for CID11 people. There will probably never be a bootloader unlock for those people unless the Verizon S5 gets one from Samsung as it grows old and irrelevant.

Which, I should add, has about a 1 in 10,000,000 chance of occurring.
I was able to successfully flash COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_G900VVRU2APA1_VZW2APA1_2572656_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 in the AP Slot
After it rebooted to system , I am unable to get the phone to be recognized by windows. When I plug it in I hear the beep that it's plugged in charging, but I cannot find an option for file transfer on the phone itself. I tried a couple different Samsung drivers on Windows but to no avail. Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can get it to connect to the pc?
This was one of the drivers I used: (one linked in original thread)

Try rebooting the phone and the PC. I've had that happen before and usually that fixes the problem.

Yup I've tried that a few times. I even went back to download mode, redid the process and booted back to system, still couldn't get it to connect.

That's peculiar... Have you tried another cord? Otherwise you'll have no choice but to take out the SD card and plug it into the PC manually.

I bought this phone in aliexpress and i'm pretty satisfied so far. Except by the fact that it's a totally obscure phone. You can't even find cases for it.
Anyway, the real problem is the lack of root methods. I tried all the root apks out there without success, and there is no known way to unlock the boot loader.
So, as a last effort, i'm trying to find someone that maybe managed to root this phone and could share the knowlege with us. Or at least find some other Gome U7 owners to share this frustation.
Thank you!

From the Aliexpress listing I found, this is MTK6757CD Android 7.1 Nougat. It shouldn't be so difficult to root.
Have you been able to backup / dump the firmware?
Yes, thats the model!.
About the backup, i don't tried it yet, but i supose i can via ADB comands.
The problem is that none of the root apks work, and i can't try to install a root script via the default recovery.
Holy fuc...king cow! I did it!
The dificulty of finding the files for this phone made this task much dificult than it shoul be, but anyway, for the possible people that come accros this thread, that's how i did it:
download the mtk drivers here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jbxsq68g8dd4gk6/MTK_USB_All_v1.0.8.zip
download the stock rom here: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/8hMx/N7fqf8X62
Put the stock rom's boot.img on your phone;
Install the magisk apk, click install, and then use the patch boot.img function;
Select the boot.img from the stock rom;
After the patch, replace the patched version with the original version on the rom folder on your PC;
Use the SP flash tool to flash it.
And that's it!
I can't believe it took me four days to figure this out hahaha
Anyway, i hope it helps someone. Have a great day.
Edit: unfortunately the bootloader is still locked, so i can't flash magisk modules. Is there a way to use root privelege to unlock it?
@SkynyrdZ The Link you provided for the stock ROM is for USB drivers.

Is that the only stock ROM out there?
I know it's a chinese phone but it originally had western stock ROM when arrived - As in playstore was available on it. Chinese version is very stubborn in trying to install western apps - Playstore for one does not open when you install via alt options.

I didn't really flash it, i just used the bootloader file on it for the root process. My device came with the stock android rom, with gapps pre-installed.
But as far as i know, you can have play store on any android. Just make sure you install google play services alongside.

I didn't try it because it seens fake to me. Also, the bootloader on this phone is locked, so fastboot comands didn't work when i tried. The only way i could flash anything was with SPtool.
But there's a group out there called twrp builder that compiles the twrp recovery to a lot of devices. I'm trying to put the gome u7 on their queue, but right now, they are busy with a lot of builds.
TWRP recovery for root with magisk from 4PDA Forum.

As you said the bootloader can not unlock why it need TWRP for?
The phone bootloader can lock and unlock as will.
Phone in fastboot mode: ADB command "fastboot oem unlock" then Push Vol+ on the phone to confirm unlock.
But I got the boot loop to TWRP every reboot after following steps to root the phone.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (twrp down load at https://unofficialtwrp.com/gome-u7-twrp-3-2-root/)
Boot to recovery ( this Twrp won't save the language which selected)
Format Data
Reboot to recovery again.
Install magisk
install No verity opt encrypt.zip.
wipe Caches/Davik...
reboot to system but it boot loop to recovery (twrp).
I have to reinstall original recovery.img and lock bootloader in order for my phone to boot normal again. After the phone boot up , install magisk.apk manager to get root.
Try to flash patched boot & twrp recovery image inside rar file with SP flash tool v5.1844.00.00 use their scatter file.
Wow, my device just could'nt comunicate with the adb via fastboot. I selcted the OEM unlock on the phone and inatalled the mtk drivers.
What i did wrong?
Also, you said that you had to install the stock recovery to the phone boot again, so you dont have twrp on the phone?

This is an updated root and unroot method for the s7/s7 edge.
I updated the zip file with the latest eng boot
Uploaded the latest stock files
Credit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616
Use V10 Odin Files this will allow you to root the s7/s7 sdge on the latest firmware. (02/09/2020)
Directions:
This works for Oreo And Nougat Roms
As always there is a chance of bricking your phone
1. Download and extract S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root.zip
2. Reboot your phone to download mode
3. Inside the S7_Oreo_Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root folder you will find an Odin_Firmware folder. Use Odin and flash the Eng Boot Image for your
phone
4. Once phone is rebooted and connected to computer click on the cmd-here.exe and type root.bat in the command window and hit enter
5. Follow directions on the command window
6. You can only use system root on Oreo
7. Once root is done and root bat closes leave your phone alone for a few minutes it may reboot a couple of times
8. Sprint Users This should work for you as well just let me know if your phone reboots with eng boot.img installed like it did on nougat while try too run the root.bat. I may need to change some things
9. With this system root do not update su binary if in anyway you get something asking you to update binaries ignore it. You can also disable notifications about updating binaries. This will not affect su app
10. Don't flash any superuser zips in recovery that are not made by me
S7 Oreo Nougat Adb Advanced Root V13: https://archive.org/download/s7oreo...Nougat_Adb_Advanced_Root_V13 (02-08-2020).zip
Return to stock:
Open odin
Reboot in download mode
Apply files
Plus in device
Flash to device
VZW-G935VVRUACSH1: https://archive.org/download/vzwg935vvruacsh120191014133427/VZW-G935VVRUACSH1-20191014133427.zip
Thank you. Followed the straight forward steps and got mine done perfectly on v10_BL. I even flashed stock and did it again just to be sure. I very much appreciate your work.
