[Q] How to set HW+ decoder ad default? - MX Player

Dears,
in the settings I enabled HW+ for all formats, but anytime I play a video I need to manually switch from HW to HW+.
How can I fix this?
Thanks and best regards

Clear data of mx player and enable hw+ decoder from setting of app. Play any hw+ supported video.

[Bug Report] H/W+ Crash on Network Playback

I'm using H/W+ decoder local/network. I don't have any problems with local storage files but when I try to play files from a local network (samba server) the player will crash on some movies. If I disable H/W+ decoding (network) and enable software audio decoding (network) the movie will start fine with H/W decoding but then I can select H/W+ decoding also. (during play) So, why is it crashing if I try to directly use H/W+ decoding?
H/W+ decoding (network) with S/W audio (network) also won't work, I'll always have to use this workaround with some movies. :-|
pS: I'm using this custom codec, mx player pro auto-updated via google play and a Galaxy S5 Plus.

The codec is same as MX Player's ffmpeg along with ac3/dts decoders.
So, The issue might be from Player itself.
Kindly collect the logs immediately after the crash & attach here.
Kindly read the following guide if you have any difficulties in bug reporting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/guide-how-to-collect-logcat-report-bug-t2843144
Thank you for the quick response, I'm attaching a MXP log here and a MediaInfo extract of one of the media files that won't work. (I already explained in my first post)
One thing I might have gotten wrong is that, the app won't crash as in "the app has stopped working" (doesn't hang) , it tries to open the file and just closes without any error.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus
Android: KitKat 4.4.4
Rom: Stock
Great support. Nothing after this much time.

[Q] hw+ jump or accelerate speed

Hello All,
I'm testing mx player without any issues, but there is something strange for me
I'm playing videos from a NAS (smb) each time I accelerate or jump to a next scene Hw+ is disabled ... So I should enabled the hw+ very often.
There is a way to always re-enabled hw+ automatically ?
Thanks
change it from mx player sttings>codec. it should work

[Q] [REQUEST] Alternative codecs combinations

Is it possible to create a wider codecs combinations for decoding posibilitie of MX?
For example: HW video with HW+ audio
Or create separate codecs settings.
On my Amlogic S812 there is problem with decoding MKV video file with HW+ decoder, video is twitching (or somewhat, I can't more correctly describe this effect) with 3 to 5 secs. Interval. With HW it's OK , but no sound.
Thank you for your help.

Just enable SW audio from audio track selection. You will get HW video & SW audio.

I allready tried it. But sometimes I got double sounding on AAC codecs while SW audio was set permanently.
Sets SW audio separetly for each MKV is not so comfortable for my opinion.
Is there some way exists to use only SW audio for all files, I think MX does not block HW audio if track was supported by HW in this mode, or it's a bug?

I can't reproduce the double audio issue.
Can you collect the logs immediately after playing the file which leads to the double audio issue?
If it's possible kindly share a sample video.

Is there a way to do the opposite of that? I need SW video & HW audio.
When I play test files directly from the device, I can use HW decoder and they play flawlessly. But when I play files from my NAS with the HW decoder, MX Player buffers. If I use the SW decoder playback is smooth, but the audio is always downmixed to stereo. I have tried both the default and custom software codecs with the same results.
Also MX Player informs me that HW+ is not available on my device, if that make a difference in the decoder options I have selected? I have tried "HW+ audio on SW video" with "SW decoder (network)" but MX Player still shows playback to be HW with the results mentioned above.

Blurry video with hw decoder

Hello everybody, I have this problem:
When I use hw decoder I get perfect sound but video is blurry.
When I change it to hw+ I have perfect video but no ddp or dts sound. Any solution?

Is it a local video or network stream?
HW decoder basically uses android mediaplayer API implemented on your device. If it is a network stream ( specifically HLS or DASH) it may happen due to adaptive playback. It will automatically select the best stream based on the current bandwidth. In HW+ or SW decoder, it will always play the first stream despite the bandwidth availability.
The problem occurs with local videos, mkv with ddp or dts sound. It is quite strange: Videos look like being projected on a screen with retention problem with hw. With hw+ videos are fine, but no sound

HW+ Audio codecs should they all be selected?

Hello.
I have installed the latest MX player and the latest codecs all in one.
By default all the HW+ audio codecs are not selected in the decoder settings. This includes AAC and EAC3.
Should these all be selected?
All the HW+ video codecs are selected by default except for H264 10bit.
Thank you

Hi @lukehansford,
We would like to let you know that HW+ Audio is still in an experimental state and suggest you keep it in disabled. Moreover, the audio decoders shipped with most of the devices are software-based. So, enabling this may not provide any advantage in most of the devices.
