But now, my new tablet also sticking in APX mode, i used a nvidia toolbox from a person to flash the first version about this tablet, when it finished, i rebooted my tablet, the screen became black, and never show anything, can't enter fastboot mode, my PC show APX!
What i can do now???:crying::crying::crying:

I want to show you a picture about the cmd window when i flash this img, but i don't know how to upload a picture.....sorry:crying::crying::crying:

Have you tried forcing boot into fastboot with volume down?
Was the replacement a K1 and did you flash a ROM for the original?
Anything else you can tell us about this mysterious Chinese man's website? Maybe post a link.
Still got that pic of the console output or a text version?
Any other info that can help us to help you?

I can't forcing boot into fastboot, i tried power button and volume down, nothing happened, the screen always black...
I think the partition is broken, i don't know the replacement is or not K1, but i flashed the original version....
I used this toolbox: http://bbs.gfan.com/android-8245744-1-1.html V2.3
Thanks for your attention!

I think you might be right about the partitions being wrong. The easiest way to distinguish the tablet is that the original has a stylus and K1 does not.
I couldn't read much on that forum, but it specifically calls out "nv-recovery-image-shield-tablet-k1-factory0_0_0.zip". So you might have flashed a recovery/rom for the wrong device and bricked it.

I installed a 3g rom on wifi

Hi
I made a very stupid mistake
I used the tool to root my xoom wifi model
I used the tool in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011196
I tried to post this issue in the thread but I did not have the permissions.
by mistake I used the root of the 3G model
I followed the steps and everything was ok
I tried the unroot and here is the deadly (hopefully not) mistake
the xoom stops and first screen and refuses to boot
Did I brick my device??
Is there a way to resolve this problem??
Thanks
Yes, you have bricked it. Fastboot won't work at this point, so your only option is probably to return it.

I am stuck at the motorola logo and the word dual core technology
When I press Volume up or down (fanrkly I could not get into that menu again) I get a list
it includes the following:

Try doing this real quick, the best that can happen is that you can turn this around. You may NOT in fact be bricked. I made the mistake of doing this also, but I figured it is just like when I was using the Danger SPL on the G1 and I had to at least find a way.
So, do this real quick if you know how.
1. Power on and press Vol - at the same time
2. Open a command prompt to your ADB file and type in fastboot oem unlock
3. If this lets you in (it may not) go through the regular procedure of pressing Vol -+-+
4. It will format and you should know if it is in fact bricked or not because it won't boot up.
5. ******
6. Profit???
Let us know how it goes.

you should try flashing the boot.img used to root i believe its tiamat 1.1.6 and the system.img for wifi. i have the stock system.img if you need it. hopefully that would git ya to boot atleast. MAKE SURE THAT IT IS WIFI ONLY.
Go here and follow the second post I posted. This will help you do this without downloading the files because they are already there.
Give it a shot at least

Yes, it has all been fixed. There still seems to be an issue with SU rights until you download BusyBox and no clue why.
I have been testing the WiFi one constantly and have not had any major hickups.

Told ya haha, save those files on your computer for next time. I keep them in close reach just incase something happens. if you have any other problems give me a holla. glad everything is working again.
I think I'm more screwed than OP because I was already unlocked and rooted. Then locked my wifi xoom with the 3g one click tool. Yes I know that was very stupid but I was wondering what are my options?
Take it back to Amazon?
Use the following method in this thread?
Wait for SBF?

It relocked? Yikes... I don't trust those 1-click things. I need to know what's going on step by step. My first Xoom got bricked when I thought I had untainted OEM image files and relocked it. There's really no reason to relock a Wifi Xoom right now.
Anyway, if it relocked, you might have been in the same boat I was where the computer wouldn't recognize the Xoom in Fastboot mode or RSD mode. And I went and got it exchanged at that point.
Oh, if RSD Lite can't see your Xoom in RSD mode, you might be out of luck. SBF won't help if RSD Lite can't see your Xoom. BUT, if it does see it, it sounds like you can flash the 3G/4G SBF from Motorola/Verizon and to get sorta running, then use Fastboot to overwrite the boot and system partitions.

With JB installed: CWM Recovery causes a hang when I try to load into it.

Here's some background: After installing JB on my (sorta) new TF300, it hit me: I hadn't rooted it yet! I head over into this thread, which says that the methods provided work for all firmware versions. I have a recent version of fastboot directly from the Android SDK, re-downloaded the recovery.img to ensure that it wasn't corrupt, copy-pasted the commands, checked them twice, and the recovery still won't load properly.
Here's the issue: When I attempt to load recovery, the tablet says something along the lines of "loading recovery kernel", and hangs on that screen for as long as I've left it. So, here comes the question: Is this an issue with CWM that is to be addressed, or do I just have really bad luck?
Edit: Forgot to also ask, am I just an idiot?

Fortunately since it's just the recovery, Android itself is fine, so I'll just wait it out and hope for a fix soon.

I wouldn't recommend reflashing CWM -- that was the last thing I did prior to it bricking. I'm stuck at the initial Asus logo, no fastboot, and all I have is APX.

You could try flashing the recovery from the terminal instead of fastboot.
Make sure you have the correct recovery image, and put it somewhere easy to remember (preferably on the root of your SD card).
Open Terminal Emulator on your tablet, and type (this assumes that recovery.blob is on your SD card root):
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
This should get you a working recovery. If CWM still doesn't work, I recommend TWRP. It's much more reliable and easier to use, imo.

I've noticed the same issue, it exists with the latest TWRP flashed via fastboot as well.
The problem with flashing via the terminal is that we don't have root yet, and need a recovery to get it. Looks like the only option is to wait for a fix.

Asus' official stance is, you unlocked the bootloader and since you ruined the tablet due to this -- they won't help you.
However, there's an official Asus representative and I'm going to reach out to him since flashing a recovery is a fairly innocuous thing to do. And there's at least two people now that have unbootable units.
You can try contacting Gary Key or Asus_USA, to see if they can help -- I sent them a PM about my/our situation

If attach via USB then power the device on while holding down VOL+ (instead of VOL-), you'll notice a new device show up as "Unknown Device\APX" in Windows or "Nvidia Corp." under lsusb in Linux. The display will not light up.
The APX interface is used with nvflash. From what I can understand, you need to have backed up several key pieces of information beforehand to be able to use APX on your own. I'm hoping Asus can whip something up that'll let us recover our devices via APX (or some other method unknown to us), otherwise we have some very expensive tea trays.

I used the reset hole in place of the power button when fiddling with button combinations. Hold down VOL+, and poke the reset hole with a paperclip and that'll get you in APX mode -- not like it does any of us any good.

as well,
Holding down the power/volume down for about 15 seconds caused a normal boot.

I managed to get ClockWorkMod to work by swapping the kernel with the one in the from the Jelly Bean SOS partition.
I remembered that there was a firmware update applied to the camera a figured it was causing a kernel panic.
so this is a temporary situation. I have attached my test file.

So, basically, the kernels in the recoveries just need to be updated, and all recoveries will work? I think we should have proper working CWM and TWRP shortly if that's the case.
Also, can you clarify what this "test file" or "test blob" actually is? From the majority of your post, I assume it's a modified CWM recovery, but that is never explicitly stated. Would be good to know exactly what I'm flashing. Not that I don't trust you -- if Cyanogen himself gave me a zip called "test" without telling me what it did, I would hesitate to flash it. I can't open a blob file to inspect it like a zip, so it's even more important in this case.
Sorry if the previous paragraph was kind of nitpickey. I do appreciate you doing this for everyone, and I'm sure others appreciate it just as much. Just saying, "better safe than sorry", you know?

Weird. When I try to edit this post, I only get 3/4 of the quote and none of my actual post to edit. Anyway...
Just wanted to clarify: not asking for directions. If the file is what I think it is, I know what I'm doing. I just want to know that the file is what I think it is.
It is the Jelly Bean recovery kernel and the ClockWorkMod ramdisk repacked with mkbootimg, then blobpack,
then I added the "-SIGNED-BY-SIGNBLOB-" header with a hex editor. it seems like ADB does not work but I
was able to root with an update.zip
I installed this with fastboot and erased and re-flashed 4 time's before posting to make sure
it would not cause instant brick.

[Q] The hardest rescue

Hi everyone!
Just a little question, as I'm facing this situation right here:
is there a way to revive a phone that doesn't boot, nor lets me access recovery mode or fastboot or bootloader?

Please ask specific questions as its related to the phone model. I'm not hopefully about it. You can get it serviced by "bootloader repair" Should be about 40$.
Some of the more common phones can be unbricked on your own.

I've already posted here, but I received only one answer, so I decided to speak more general just to know if it is theoretically possible to rescue a phone in the situation I described.
Anyway, do you think that there is no way that the pc can communicate with a phone that doesn't even reach the bootloader?
Ok, I'll ask a different question: the phone I'm talking about ended up this bad while flashing an official OTA.
How is that possible?
I thought there was no possible way that an OTA messed with the bootloader, or the recovery... or fastboot! Doesn anyone know what could possibly have gone wrong during the update?

Actually, it seems like your phone is bricked, there are some methods to unbrick some phones but I don't know if they would work for you, just try to do a Google search how to unbrick a bricked phone, and it might return with some useful stuff, try everything that's possible, because nothing worst can happen over a brick(except it can blast in your hand if you connect a high voltage in place of battery)(lol, it won't happen! )
Hit Thanks if I helped sent from my SM-T211
Already done that, I'm giving up if my pc cannot communicate with the phone.
At this point I'd only like to know how could an OTA corrupt the bootloader.

It wasn't me, it was my cousin, who flashed an OTA which apparently corrupted all the layers of the OS. I believe him, but I find it incredibly difficult to happen, so I wanted to know if that could really happen.

It means that the flashing went bad and now the phone is unusable. I cannot make it communicate with the pc. No access to recovery nor bootloader nor fastboot nor anything.

Try smart phone flash tool(on pc), I recently came across a thread in which author said he have a hard bricked xolo phone and it don't boot to anything, but responds to SP Flash tool. Give it a try, if might work.
I don't have it's link, Google it

You want help with a device but you don't tell us any kind of information about your device, how smart was that? What you need and how to do it can depend on what device model number you have.

Where did this problem start? Did you cause this by modifying, attempting to root or flashing the device with something that caused this?
If so, about your only option is to use your device's flashtool to flash the stock firmware. If your device's stock firmware isn't available then you might be out of luck repairing your device. If this is the case then your only other option might be getting someone that has a device exactly like yours that is rooted and getting them to pull copies of the various .img files needed for your device then using adb shell to dd those .img files on your device. But, to be honest, I don't think this is gonna happen for you. You probably will have to take the device to a repair shop. It will probably be cheaper to just buy another tablet because the cost of repair will probably be more than what you paid for the device.

Okay not sure which Flash tool to use nor get my stock rom I dread to say but i dont think there is one available. Its a generic tablet its made by Quanta. Not sure how to put it in a download mode either I assume ADB is the only way to transfer any files.

Its pretty easy to fix a soft bricked device , even if stock rom isnt available , any rom compatible with his device can fix the issue .

To be compatible, the ROM typically has to be ported and that usually requires the stock firmware or stock source from the device that the ROM is being ported over to. 99% of the time you can't just flash a ROM from a different model number, even if the CPU is the same, there's quite a bit more to it than that. The android operating system is built for the specific hardware it is installed on, the two devices would have to be exactly the same and have the exact same components, any differences in hardware make he firmwares incompatible.
For this particular device, I doubt the stock firmware or stock source code area available, even if it were, porting another ROM wouldn't be necessary because if it were available it could just be flashed with that instead of porting a ROM.
About the only time a ROM from a different model number can be used without any porting or edits being made is when the devices are exactly the same device just rebranded with a different "name".
But thanks for trying to tell me something that you thought I didn't know, now it seems I've told you something that you didn't know.

1.Search for your tablet's root package , download it and move it to your tablet's sd card. Then enter your recovery mode by pressing power button+ Home button+ Volume button at same time for 10sec. Once entered , go to option "apply update from sd card" and select the root package you downloaded. (CONGRATS YOU HAVE ROOTED YOUR PHONE!)
2.Search for your tablet's 'custom recovery' , download it and flash it through odin tool(pc) .
3.Final Step ! BASED ON THE RECOVERY YOU FLASHED THESE STEPS MAY DIFFER , SO REPLY ME IF YOU SUCCEED IN FLASHING CUSTOM RECOVERY

Odin is for Samsung devices, not other devices.
The device they are repairing is not a Samsung device. They have this device and a Samsung device. The issue on this device occurred while they were in the process of flashing their Samsung device.
I know you're trying to help but don't post anything unless you are absolutely certain that you know what you're talking about.
In this case, you didn't and that can easily lead to a hard bricked device because they followed your instruction.
Stick to answering questions about devices you personally have dealt with, don't go assuming that you understand someone else's device. They are all different, the methods, tricks and tools for one won't necessarily work on another.
You understand android somewhat but judging by your posts, you don't understand the differences in devices and methods. But you will after you've been here a while.

thankyou so much for the fast responses much appreciated to take your time to explain. Okay i have a question what would be the course of detailed action to preform getting any and all missing .img's it may need. Also i know its a crazy question but would i be able to preform this in store with the displayed tablet that matches mine? How difficult is something like this, and is there any other methods at all I can try to boot past this bootloader. And now that i remember correctly from reading others this happened when I upgraded to 5.1 or 5.0 thank you everybody once again!

No, you wouldn't be able to get it from a tablet in the store, it's a rather involved process that requires connecting the device to PC, it also requires rooting the device and flashing a custom recovery, and that's all before you actually get to where you can pull the files. It'll take a couple of hours,or more to do it.

The only other option is pretty risky. You can try a firmware from another device that has the same CPU and hardware as your device, you'd have to compare specs. It would have to have the same CPU, same screen resolution, same camera(front and rear), same amount of RAM, same amount of internal storage, same accelerometers, etc.. It has to have all the same components that yours has.

OPO recovery tool issue

Hi all ,
I'm having issues with the OPO recovery tool while trying to fix my hard bricked device.
After going through all the steps described in the original post, the device line lights up green apparently meaning that the device is unbricked. Yet now the phone is stuck at the one plus logo with nothing else happening. I am able to boot into fastboot mode but that's the extent of it.
I would really appreciate any help as I am getting really sick of my iphone 4 and can't really afford another phone.
Thank you

Thanks for your reply, I can't seem to find a working download link for it? Also on one website I found an "incremental update" that needs the previous version to work. Would appreciate any input as I'm not very good at this. Thank you!
