Do you have any ideas about best methods to remove the big and ugly Joying logo from the face plate of the head unit?
The logo defeats the purpose of trying to look as OEM as possible with the head unit. I for one would not want any Chinese brand name visible in my car.
In my experience nearly all of these are stickon/glueon types (so its easy for multiple companies to use), so there is probably some way to remove it.
Its silk screened so I doubt you could remove it without also ruining / discoloring the bottom black layer. Most effective way would probably be to vinyl wrap the edge.
Model makers have special products for removing old logos and paint from models they are repainting.
I'm guessing some form of decal remover would do it, otherwise some ultra fine grit sandpaper would fix it.
I removed the "Joying" from my face-plate using a product call "Goo Gone" worked like a charm. I first tested on an inside area of the face-plate to make sure it didn't harm the plastic. http://googone.com/products/original/

Same here, I removed my "Joying" logo today using my fingernail.

Seller responded to emails, at least seems to make ROMs better, has a warranty that has been tested to work, ships from Europe.
But this is not the topic to discuss this. Thanks for the suggestions... I'll try to find something like Goo Gone in my country.

You can order the unit without the logo. I just broke the screen and ordered the new screen without the logo but you have to advice them when ordering.

Hey guys, so i dropped my phone a couple of times which ended up in a smashed screen/lcd. i bought a replacement from eBay and installed it. it powered on fine, but the bottom quarter of the screen is very unresponsive and unreliable, the bottom row of buttons have no life in them whatsoever. the top half is fine. the lcd isn't sitting quite flush in the casing, although having a play around with it i couldn't solve the problem. has anyone been through the same situation and would care to shed some light?
Many thanks
I should also add, i didn't use any more adhesive, i thought the bit of leftoverstuff might of held it. could this possibly be what it is? do i need loads of adhesive to pad it out? is it avaliable on the high street or is it internet only?
anyone?

Sorry mate - I missed this post first time around. I have also replaced both my LCD and my Digitiser before now. You really need to do the replacement properly - when the adhesive is heated up so that you can separate the two parts you should remove as much of the old adhesive as you possibly can and then replace it with new stuff correctly and accurately. If the two part are touching then that may cause you a problem - although it may not.
You could have any of three real causes for this;-
1) The new digitiser cable isn't inserted correctly or is damaged somehow
2) The misuse of adhesive
3) The digitiser you bought might be cheap and sub-standard

I bought mine from Amazon I think - but it only comes on rolls of about 50 metres. Are you in the UK by any chance?
Yep - got mine here £4.99 + £4.50 delivery. I hardly used any and posted my roll on recently to another XDA member who needed some.

Yeah i bought the digitizer and lcd together.
So i tried applying adhesive, had a nightmare with rounded screws/drivers but eventually got it back together. now it's charging and won't turn on.. still isn't sitting right, may give up unless there's someone out there that would fix it for <£20? i've got all the bits (probably will need new screws) just don't have the know-how.
I can't promise a miracle, but if you want to post it for me to have a look at then drop me a PM.
Do you feel pressing power-on key?

Pm'd.
Here's a link and here like the Mate is broken.
thanks for the link !
but it is too slow... is there a way to get it on youtube ?
Unfortunately, it can not be completely record. On the PC, it can, however, look reasonable.
I have just made a little damage (i'm angry against myself).
You can see the damaged part on the picture (the display is completely OK, because there is a tempered glass for protection on it, and all the rest is OK)
Do you think i can order the golden metal part that "circle" the display ?
Spare parts I have not found. However, it must be removed in any case the display. Whether it survives that !?Because I would rather put on a cover.
There is a cover (i removed it for the picture)...
The phone falls from my pocket on the ground... a fall about 1m40...
when the phone touched the ground, the back cover protector moved and one of the corner was damaged just there... it's 3x nothing, but i'm pissed... (i'm a bit maniac )
If only watch better. But is very smooth without cover.

I just shattered the screen on mine, has anyone taken on apart yet?
Rear cover removal looks easy enough for basic access & a battery refresh but screen work looks less easy & would be hard for average person do a faultless or worthwhile repair job.
Does anyone no how to remove the rear casing (battery door)? I have scratched mine and noticed you can buy the part pretty cheap but noing how this comes if would be much appreciated.

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying the LG G Flex 2, but in my country the grey one is the only one available.
Is is possible to replace the grey battery cover with a volcano red cover?
yes, if you get one ^^
I know that the circle flip cover has the same looking back cover you could try ordering that in red

Did it arrive? How did it turn out? My concern is that most of these are knockoff backs that don't actually have the self-healing plastic.

is like original, this is exact very very nice finished you only have to swap the infrared button on the new one, and yes it comes with sel healing. AAA quality product.
Is there already a foto of a Silver Flex with a Red Backcover? Im afraid of the silver brezel :/
Actually I think the contrast would look good, in a two tone way.....
What does swap the infrared button mean? Do I have to break anything when removing this from the original? Why can't these people not include that infrared cover piece when they make these covers?
Has anyone posted pics of grey ring with red back? I can't find any in my searches.

watch the jerry rig everything teardown. he does the same to his device. you will probably lose any water resistance though since you are tearing up the adhesive strip that holds the back panel on.
Get a case with a clear back, and have a custom skin made with the insides.
Put the skin on the back of the phone and the case on top.
They'll sell it on witrigs soon enough for like $45US

That would kinda work although it's too easy and fake.
I probably will if I break my back plate, because at that point, why not? I did it to my Samsung S8+, and loved it.
I won't be removing the back of the phone just to do it though. I prefer water resistance.

Quick question what did the box look like , did it have a clear shrink wrap on the outer box or not , also was there is a typical Samsung single or dual security tape on the cardboard box or not ?
A lot of so called brand new items from the far east are made to look like brand new hence wanting to know what an HK box looks like from factory.
Im already aware that the contents will include case and a pre applied screen protector. Thanks for the feedback.
Edit , I've partially answered some of my own questions.

I remember mine was single security tape and no shrink wrap. It came with a silicone case. Screen protector on the screen and some plastic on the back that you pull off.
Mine was supplied by T-Dimension to the UK. The box was not shrink wrapped. It has one taped seal - a black sticky label with Samsung branding and the don't accept if seal broken message. The seal was intact. I'm 100% satisfied that everything is original and perfect.
There is a little difference between HK (TGY) and TW (BRI) with the printed materials and power adapters.

Here's what I was talking , I think the concensus is that Samsung doesn't shrink wrap their boxes.
Shrink wrap can be done by reseller (there are a lot of inexpensive appliances available). I would relay on the seal / label only.

Indeed, anyone can shrink wrap with correct equipment.
Selling refurbished devices as brand new is big business. Especially these days when it's difficult to even attain the true battery values from a device without root.
Ok here we go, seal looks nothing like Todd's one.
There's two clear round seals on each side and one white security sticker that doesn't have those anti lift corners.

There's a few discrepancies I've noticed already one the back glass not having imei but that could be regional thing , second Phone NFO shows device made in Korea when the box shows Vietnam. These questions are directed towards SM-N9860 users owners.
