Their guys; i have some questions for professionals.
I have Minix Neo X5 mini (4.2.2) Android TV Box.
I tried embedded video player with Turkish subtitle(mkv video with external srt subtitle). But Turkish specific characters(like ş,ö,ç,ğ,ü) does not display correctly. It seems that default font is not compatible with these charset. Is it possible to change this font with compatible one?
An other problem is;
I tried MX Player with same mkv video and subtitle srt file. I deselect embedded subtitle. Turkish characters are ok. But the hearing impaired subtitle always active with external subtitle. So both subtitle shown at the same time(Turkish and embedded english). Do you konw any solution?
Hi,
I tried to search and look around in this forum and still cannot resolve my problem.
I just installed MX Player pro. I ripped and made one MKV movie file from bluray with embedded subtitles in the file.
I tested the file with my TV and DUNE HD player and also tested this file on my computer with XBMC, VLC media play. The movie can be played smoothly and I can control, select, enable, or disable subtitles as usual.
However, when I loaded the file to my Samsung Note 8, MX player pro can play movie smoothly and fine. The only problem is that there is no subtitle shown, although I selected or enabled subtitles.
I also tried enable and disable in Setting > Subtitle > Enable Subtile and Setting > Subtitle > Enable Embeded Subtiles , but it doesn't help.
Please suggest.

Did you check subtitle track button on the playback screen?
There may a speech balloon button on the upper right corner of the playback screen, if video have one or more subtitle tracks.

Hi bleu8888, do you mean the mini button on the right corner? There are H/W, subtitles, audio.
Yes I checked it. I enabled one, two, or sometimes even all of them, but no subtitle is shown.
Note: I just tested the file with "VLC for android" and it works as expected. All subtitles work fine.
Thus, I guess there must be some missing or incorrect configuration in my MX Player Pro. Please help.

Would you share your video file?
Also, could you post the media info as well?

Hmm, pgs subs shouldn't generally cause a problem... as bleu requested, mind sharing your file somewhere? If the file's big, could you clip out a few minutes and share that instead?

I believe this issue is fixed on latest test version

Feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi bleu8888
I installed it. It looks like an updated part, doesn't it? Anyway, it works as expected now.
Thank a lot!
You can use Avdshare Video Converter to removing subtitles from MKV with the help of an MKV Subtitle Remover named MKV Subtitle Remover.
Hi guys, I'm currently watching something which I know already has embedded subtitles within the file. But when I go to the "Subtitle" option I only see options to find subtitle files (which doesn't help me because the srt is already embedded) or online subtitles, screenshot is pictured. An option to automatically show/switch off showing imbedded subtitles if it has them would be great. Cheers.

MX Player will automatically detect embedded Subtitles & external Subtitles ( if the name is same as video). Can you provide a bug report or sample file..?
Media Player Classic Home Cinema has an option I'd like to see in MX Player.
"Prefer external subtitles over embedded subtitles"
I get tired of switching to external subs when I watch several videos that all have both external and embedded subs.

It will be the default behaviour of 1.9.1.
Kindly be patient till we make it available to the users.
I had my MX player's subtitle settings working just fine on all videos without bias. Recently I had to uninstall my MX player and reinstall it. After that, I tried to change the subtitle settings by changing the text size and text color. However, not all videos are taking this change into effect. The videos which have SSA subtitles are not taking any kind of modifications in how the subtitles are displayed and showing the default white colored subtitles with default text size. But earlier, before reinstalling, the same videos used to have these customized subtitle settings which I put into effect.
I have tried newer and older versions of MX player but the problem persists.
