[Completed] ODIN failing to downgrade firmware - XDA Assist

So, i have been trying my luck to downgrade my firmware on Note 5 (N20G - India) since 6 hours and must have hit the 'start' button on ODIN close to 50 times already but it's failing each time. Basically, i want to downgrade to get a better battery life on my device. Currently i'm on Marshmallow with firmware version N920GUBU3BPI5 (INS). The firmware i want my device to be downgraded is N920GDDU2AOJ5.tar (Lime pie). Few things i would like to share:
- My device is not rooted
- Running on stock firmware with stock recovery
- System status is Official
- FRP lock is OFF and USB Debugging is ON
- I tried changing the laptop as well as the port and i know the cable is not faulty as it is connecting in the 'Media' mode and charging the device perfectly
- I also tried flashing other ROMs belonging to the same country but i'm still getting the same error
Here's the log on my ODIN (3.10.7)

[Completed] Tablet stuck in downloading mode

Hey guys,
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro and now i have a huge problem. I rooted it a long time ago and decided to install TWRP today via TWRP Managaer from Play Store.
I guess i did something wrong. After the app told me that the installation of TWRP was successful, i restarted the tablet. Now the screen says: "downloading, do not turn of the device". And i warted for about 1 hour and nothing changed. I cant event shut down the tablet. If I hold the Power key, it only restarts. The only thing i can do is go to ODIN mode.
But i am kind a newbie and i have no clues what to do now. Any help is welcome. Thanks guys.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You probably have to flash the stock firmware with Odin and start the process all over. Try here for help first, http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-how-to-root-install-custom-recovery-t3087451. Also see your device's forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-pro-12-10-8. That is the best place to get help in the future.
Hey, thanks for your help. I just tried to flash the stock firmware via ODIN. But it always says that it Failed.

I tried on differend USB ports and installed differend Drivers. I've no idea what i should do now.
Hi, the only other things I can suggest is to:
Re-download the firmware file and check its md5
It's good you tired different usb ports. Make sure they're the ones in the back of the pc and 2.0, not 3.0
Try different cables
Keep trying. Odin can be finicky. I've has it fail many times and then for some unknown reason it'll work.

If someone could help me as well I'm having a similar problem. I have tried using multiple Odin versions and many stock SM-G900P 4.4.2 firmwares from multiple sources, but always have the same messages pop up.

USB debugging is on and Odin does recognize the device is connect, I have also already installed the drivers again just to be sure. I have used Odin before with no trouble maybe its the fact the phone is from sprint and on lollipop since sprint is stingy on unlocking -_-. If someone could point me in the right direction or 100% working firmware links I'd appreciate it. I have also tried going about this through Heimdall and failed not even being able to obtain the pit file. If someone could provide a working one I'd also appreciate it I am fully aware it may brick the phone as everything else may do. Or show me the me the step by step to flash with Heimdall with a .tar. I'll take any advice thank you
you can try the newer firmware ok4
maybe this will work . unzip and place md5 in ap slot of odin

I have the same problem myself and it took me a few minutes to realize what the problem is. I just got a new phone from Sprint because my other one the USB port was basically broken I couldn't connect or charge. So after a few failed attempts at flashing a ROM I decided to look at my firmware and realized that it was the new updated bog1 version. Sprint decided to lock all the boot loaders so as of this moment I don't know how to flash any ROM or downgrade as the bootloader will not let you. As a matter of fact just last night I was walking into Walmart I pulled my phone out of my pocket to look at it and it was just finishing up installing some security policy updates. My phone then immediately restarted and got stuck at the spark screen. Just the fact that I was rooted sent my phone into a boot loop. As of right now the only thing I can do is reflash the stock bog 1. I have managed to get access to this one and I'm working on modifying the bootloader in anyway I can. I'm a little newer to this but I catch on pretty quick. As of now I have all the permissions unlocked for me to access all the files in that stock bog1 rom but haven't found a way to make them stick yet. I'm going to have to break down each individual file and hopefully I can come up with a solution or anybody for that matter because I'm a few months away from my contract being up and if I can't root my phone and customize it I don't want it. If they want my phone lock down and toddler mode then they can pay for it that's how I look at it lol. Make sure you turn off automatic security updates. There's also a post in here of how to clean that out so you don't have the newest security policy update. I know the exact file the bootloader is in but haven't found a way to get into it or modify it yet even though I have permission. It shows it copying /deleting but doesnt change. There is way too many people in this world to not have someone come up with a solution by now and anytime I search for it I get results from a year to five years ago , hardly anything recent thanks google. I also posted on times and started a thread I'm trying but I'm not as advanced as some of these developers on here but I am determined lol
I finally got it to boot up. Just took like 20 mins. Now it boots sometimes while others it won't and says process has stopped responding after the yellow screen. Why does it do this. The rom is official rom directly off Samsung kids.
may have cracked bootloader BOG1 G900P
i have been playing in thr sys files and today i managed to get a custom animation boot installed. after that i flashed a modded bog1 file from philz. it took and succesfully booted and am now reinstalling all my apps. i think i over wrote or blocked my bootloader. ill get back when i know for sure:laugh:

Samsung Galaxy s6 G920I (Aus)

Hey guys; New to the forums; Read a few guides nothing has really helped so far but I could just have missed something;
So what happened is;
I have succesfully taken all the bloatware off my s6 Edge; I was trying to do the same for the misses phone (Galaxy s6) Yes i made sure to get the right firmware
I downloaded from sammobile.com the G920I XSA so i could get rid of her telstra bloatware. However halfway threw the installation (Odin) it said failed and the phone was stuck in download mode for ages; I decided to just try a reset (after about 45 - 1hr) then it started booting up with a ! saying an error has occurred while updating the device software Use the Emergency Recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software;
Which I have tried doing; However it keeps getting to about 1 or 2% of the installation (yes it has finished the download read something on here about people getting stuck at 51% download) Then it asks me for a recovery code from a previous computer; I bought this phone used off someone with all the stock bloatware from telstra so I dont have the recovery code; How can I get around this ? I dont have their phone number either as it was on my old sim which didnt fit into this phone and I have already given my other phone away...
As of this min I am downloading the telstra version of the firmware again, Will this fix it ? and then will I be able to put the XSA firmware on ?
Thanks for any help
Appreciate it

[Q] Possibly bricked GT-N8010

Hey,
I was successfully running LineageOS on my GT-N8010.
However, it froze at one point and I force turned it off, and ever since I just get the 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue' screen. However, I am still able to get into download mode.
I'm now wanting to get it back to stock so I can re-try LineageOS on it. I have the stock image but if I try to install through ODIN I just get an error(posted below) and also on the tablet I get SW Rev. Invalid magic string.
Any idea how I could try sort it out?
In the details section of the download screen it shows;

Odin requires TAR files not image .
Flash stock rom via Odin .
Sboot.bin fail means you are flashing firmware with an older bootloader than is currently on the device .

Stuck on system.img means odin not recognized your system partition..
And or change USB port change usb cable .
Make sure that you have the least official firmware for your device and if it still fails,
it looks like a eMMC failure.
This problem is very common on the N80XX devices.
I already had to replace hundreds of eMMC's on them.
