Hey all, was just wondering if anyone had a broken sprint phone with a clear esn they could PM me. My wife and I hit a bit of a financial rough spot and i need to get the sgs2's off the account before it gets frozen so i can sell them, pay off and cancel the account and get some cheap prepaid plans. Thanks in advance!

Try posting this in the marketplace, pretty sure you will get some help there.
Changing ESN is illegal and against XDA rules.

How long to wait before ATT will network unlock if buying outright?

Just curious.
I would try as soon as your phone shows up within your online account which would mean they have it in their system. Like bayfisher1958 said 23 to 48 hrs.
Keep this URL handy https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/request/#/unlockstep1.
I just unlocked my S7E and got the Unlock code/response within 5 minutes! That never happened before with my iPhones!

i will go to best buy tomorrow to preorder or does it have to be straight through att?
bayfisher1958 said:
they will assist you on that. The s8s are there, and its same att device. Call att to be sure if purchased there, that unit is the same, and call best buy to assure model is without question correct.

You can pre order it from Best buy and have it picked up in store it saves you on shipping. You will not get any of the deals like 100$ off because you are not activating a at&t line, upgrade, etc. Also just curious what does it matter being unlocked for cricket? Does the carrier read cricket instead of at&t or something when you see the provider if you unlock it? I am getting the at&t version to outright but didn't know if unlocking the phone did something or not.

Nothing to gain by unlocking other than using it on Tmobile, using abroad w gsm carrier and can sell at higher price.

Is Verizon unlimited a viable internet connection for competitive online gaming?

Is it worth it and if not are there any solutions for someone who travels a lot staying in hotels with terrible internet?

Try Straight Talk, it's prepaid, $45/month unlimited calling, texting and data with a high speed limit of 5GB a month(2G speeds for the rest of the month after you reach the limit) or $55/month for a high speed limit of 10GB (2G for the rest of the month after reaching 10GB).
It's Verizon's network and speeds at half the price.

Is the Verizon plan truly unlimited? Is their a high speed(4G) data limit? Does Verizon throttle speeds after reaching that limit of 4G data? If so, it'll be about the same as Straight Talk's limit and still at half the price.

I wonder if I can buy one of those jetpacks and use it as a hotspot or if I have to use my phone.

From what I've seen, you don't get as much data with a hot spot as you do a phone.

I wonder if I could buy a verizon prepaid phone and try to activate it with straight talk. Verizon has killer prices on the prepaid phones. I saw a 30 dollar moto G play at the dollar store yesterday no joke.
It might not work though.

When I asked Verizon about using it on their network they said I could but i had to buy 1 month of their prepaid before it unlocks which would be $30. Still a $60 dollar Moto G Play is STILL worth it.
With that said I heard one of two things. It either unlocks after you make your $30 payment or you have to pay $30 AND wait 30 days.
I mean I am tempted to try for that price but waiting 30 days would kinda suck.

Have you taken a look at Google's Project Fi? It uses multiple networks including your home WiFi and you only pay for the data that you use plus it syncs all devices that you have signed in with your Google account. Base price $20 a month for service plus whatever data you use, any extra you pay or data left over at the end of the month gets credited back to you.

I travel at hotels that is why I need this because bad hotel wifi so project fi won't work I did talk to a verizon rep and the plan is now $40 for the prepaid but she said I could unlock it tonight if I want to she will call me back at 10 pm, $80 for a Moto G4 Play (16gb) that's pretty good right? OR I could get the Samsung j1 for 10 bucks cheaper.
