Prometheus Kernel Discussion board - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello to everybody. Please use this thread to discuss, share and analyze prometheus kernel performance for your device. Let's keep the development thread clean.
I ll start by sharing my current synapse profile - I still use prom 1.4 - with you but DISCLAIMER - your mileage may vary depending on ASV...and other things. So do it at your own risk.

only for prom 1.4 !! I find it to be the most stable and has the best balance of battery and performance ever.
For those of you who don t know how to apply custom profiles in synapse, here s a link to a video tutorial i made.

Here s a link to a video tutorial i made...hope it helps you.
Long story short - copy the file in the right directory..go to synapse...hit backup first...it gives an error, it s normal..then restart synapse and the config file will show ul. Proceed to restore as you would normally do it.

Word. Everybody can chose to use however they want their phone u can leave it at max performance or max battery life...or between. Your choice.

This will probably be the last battery screen that i post as it's getting repetitive.
Mostly indoor use as i was off work today, lots of web browsing, youtubing, HD movies (managed to finish Mad Men season 1 today ?), IMs e.t.c.

I use the stock touchwiz rom. My phone is currently off and charging so I can't really outline my undervolting (every phone is different), but you should use the profile which aldoblaga has provided in the first page (it should be the same undervoltage values which i'm currently using on the latest prometheus kernel and touchwiz firmware).
As for apps, i use disable services and ez package disabler to disable all those touchwiz and google bloat apps and services which are irrelevant to my daily usage. I could upload my ez package disabler and disable services app profiles, but if people use them and certain services - which i don't use, but they use - begins to malfunction (such as google cast/wear/tap and pay), then i might get a torrent of abuse from certain immature members on this forum e.t.c.
I turn on power saving (doesn't affect performance) and stick all apps into app powersaving (but i don't think it does much as all my IMs are still syncing in the background before i open them). I also use a black theme (search 'touchwiz black' in the theme store) for maximum sAMOLED efficiency (excellent black levels and power saving; win-win).
General prom kernel settings are smartmax_eps with stock cpu freqs (2.3 GHz mongoose/1.7 GHz apollo) and interactive with stock gpu freqs (650 MHz gpu). FIOPS for both internal and sd card I/O schedulers (but i'd prefer BFQ for sd card I/O, if lyapota adds it into the next update). The rest should be provided in aldoblaga's profile from the first page.
I'm still fighting some wakelocks in my device, so i still have a lot to learn

Bravo my man! A true and dedicated modder. U re using prom 1.7.1 or which version? It s a good thing that my synapse settings for 1.4 work on every other version released since! Kudos to @lyapota for keeping things easy to config going from version to version and backwards compatibility between profile versions is possible!

Haha, thanks. Yes, i'm using 1.7.1 and indeed many thanks to lyapota for keeping the configs universal between kernel versions.

I just tried out aldo's perfection version 2 with renovate rom 1.1 r39 and it seems to be pretty fine.
I will try out the "battery" option for interactive governor with the next charge and then smartmax governor after this.

Keep us updated on your findings (by screenshots) from both governors with their respective settings, please. I have always been curious to see how smartmax_eps compares to interactive with battery settings enabled in synapse.

Thread cleaned yet again. If people want to have a screen on time contest that's upto them, if people want to OC or UV its upto them. But ALL members must be polite to each other, if someone's posts are annoying then add them to your ignore list

I will report soon but it will need some days. Especially if the battery usage has to be similar to each "kernel-setting-test"

I'm now using Superman ROM with superstock kernel, and i want to try this kernel now with that rom, so my question is, if i change kernel now, should y root again and flash xposed again or just flashing kernel will be fine?<br />

No0b guide!
Upon the recommendation of one of the thread followers, I decided to put together this thread to help noobs getting started. Hope it helps, but if you need more assistance, PM me and I can help in greater detail.
Kernels
It comes with the up-to-date CM kernel, however there are other ones that you can try! You can always use the Kernel Manager app in the market, but I'll also provide links to the threads and basic explanations of the most popular ones below.
Godm0de: toastcfh is a legendary kernel master on XDA, and he constructed this excellent kernel a ways back. It is the best non-SBC kernel, in my humble opinion. It includes overclocking and underclocking capabilities, undervolting, uses CFS, and is based off of Linux kernel 2.6.38-8.
Tiamat: an excellent kernel, available in both SBC and non-SBC. It also includes overclocking and underclocking capabilities, undervolting, uses CFS, and the most recent version is based off of Linux kernel 2.6.38-8. I personally have used the most recent SBC version (4.1.0), and really like the new lagfree governor. Personally, however, I use the famous 3.3.7 kernel, which gives unparalleled battery life.
Savaged Zen: although it is no longer in development, this kernel is absolutely wonderful, and I was a staunch supporter for a long time. The final version is 2.2.1, and includes overclocking and underclocking capabilities, undervolting, comes in both CFS and BFS versions, comes in both SBC and non-SBC versions, and is based off of Linux kernel 2.6.38-7.
I won't go into detail about all of those individual features (that is what Google is for), however I will single out SBC because of previous debate on the topic. SBC is essentially a “trickle charge” of the battery, or charging more than 100% to fully maximize the charging amount. Non-SBC kernels charge to 100%, then discharge to 90%, and recharge to 100%, and continue this cycle while still showing 100% in the top bar. This is why when you pull the phone off of the charger it instantly drops down to 90%. There have been reports of exploding batteries when SBC was first introduced, however these were quickly dismissed by many as cheap Chinese batteries (or other rumor-based exaggerations), and there have been no reported cases since this time. Point is that SBC is considered use at-your-own-risk, although I've used SBC kernels nonstop for nearly a year and have not had problems. Just an advisory notice.
SetCPU
To control how your kernel works with your CPU, you can use the SetCPU app that is available for $1.99 in the market, or for free from that thread (support the developer if you can, its worth it). This app will let you set what minimum and maximum frequencies you want (to overclock, underclock, etc), and how the CPU scales within that range. You can also use different governors, which affect the timing of that scaling from one frequency to the next based on different heuristic algorithms.
Vipermod
Vipermod is a mod that allows you to undervolt to a greater extent than what most kernels will come with. You see, kernel developers make their kernel with the target of stability, so they provide appropriate power at various frequencies to allow most users to enjoy it without further modification. That said, many phones are capable of using less power to effectively run at these frequencies, which will increase battery life. The tutorial to install and use the mod can be found on the thread, but just keep in mind that if a phone cannot handle a certain frequency, you'll get random reboots when the frequency scaling is tested. Hence, the general philosophy is to start by undervolting by -100mV, and if you get a random reboot, to increase by increments of 25mV until you no longer get those reboots. Personally, mine stopped rebooting at -50mV, and I've seen significant battery savings at this level.
Keep in mind that only certain kernels have the structure to allow this mod to work. When you try to run it, your phone will tell you if it can't run on that kernel (don't worry, it doesn't break anything, it just sucks).
Sysctl Config
The Sysctl Config app is available for free in the market, and allows you modify how your kernel frees up system resources (i.e., closes background apps, manages open apps, etc.). I won't go into what the settings mean (Google can do that for you), but the basic premise is this:
Ratio Values mean that the higher the number, the greater the percentage of app cache is stored in memory before being cleared by the system.
Cache Pressure means the pressure the system exerts on apps to close when pushed to the background.
Most kernels default with the settings of Dirty Ratio=20, Dirty Background Ratio=5, VFS Cache Pressure=100. If you change them to Dirty Ratio=95, Dirty Background Ratio=70, VFS Cache Pressure=1, it means that apps will keep cache handy longer (system resources used less frequently and smoother app use overall). Of course, you can experiment with those values, but this is dabbling with advanced kernel stuff so don't get too crazy.
V6 SuperCharger
I haven't gotten the opportunity to use the SuperCharger mod too much, but it looks to be beneficial in aiding how the internal memory structure works with OOM Groupings and lowmemkiller values. Some users report drastic increases in multitasking and battery life. It requires the Script Manager app, BusyBox 1.18.2 or lower, and the Autostart Script the mod's creator developed. The installation details are available on the thread.
I'll add more later, but this should get you started!
Sweet it might be easier to follow now I hope LOL.

It use to be more popular lol.
I have a suggestion for all the noobs on the forum these days maybe post the kernels that work with aosp with some links in the op so you don't get that question over and over again.
Just a thought.
Edit: another thought that would be cool if you posted links and howtos on V6 and vipermod in op .
That might draw some noobies in to this ROM and save on some questions being asked.

BTW this ROM is amazing but I'm still having massive battery drain! Could it be an app? Im using Vipermod @ -75mA, V6 Supercharger, Tiamat 4.0.7 SBC and this newest nightly. It's like the most amazingly beautiful combo ever, yet it's owning me =(. Also did Fix Permissions in ROM Manager twice.
I'll try it...

Is this based on latest CM7 nightly #180 ?
so I can use metamorph themes?
Great AOSP ROM. Silky smooth even clocked down to 768 mhz and undervolted -100 mV.
Question: anybody else using GoLauncher? I'm having issues with GoWidgets (calender and message) loading after a reboot. No problems with any other widgets. I can uninstall and reinstall and they show up fine. I'm testing the 1.3.1 nightly. Tonight I'm going to try a stable release and see if I get the same thing.
Looking forward to getting more time with this puppy.
Very nice OP. Good Luck. By the way, Thanks for the links on your sig.

Have you checked spare parts? It sounds like there may be an app that is causing a wakelock, check to see if there is any partial wakelocks, sensor wakelocks, etc. There is also a number of battery monitor apps available in the market that will tell you what app is using all that power, so you can sniper it a bit more effectively. The only other thing I can think to recommend is a battery calibration, if you haven't done one in a while. It absolutely NEEDS to be done when coming from a Sense rom, but every once in a while I need to do it even though I'm an AOSP all-the-way guy. It just happens when you try new kernels. PM me with some photos showing the drain (after trying those methods, of course ) and I'll see if I can help you out.

It is not based on any CM7 nightly ... they customized AOSP from scratch. I can't tell you if metamorph themes will work, but if they are built for CM7, I would venture not. Just the T-Mobile Themer app.

I am an avid GO app user, and swear by Launcher EX. The widgets not showing up after a reboot does happen with me as well, but ONLY on a reboot after I clear dalvik cache and cache. The secret I've found to geting them back is that when they show up as that white box, remove them from the screen and reboot. Once rebooted, put them back on the screen and they show up fine. They will stay on reboots too, at least until you clear those caches again.
Btw, don't ask why it does this, I have no idea haha.

Thanks! And my pleasure, good sir.
Running great and love the lockscreen options as well as the statusbar tweaks. Does anybody know of any gapps that actually restore your market apps. for what ever the reason I an never seem to find any that work. I use MyBackup Root but was just curious if anyone else had this issue.
Once again thanx for finally updating this and its helped my flashing addiction....

I've checked spare parts and the highest partial wakelock is Android Systen with 1m 57s and the highest sensor usage is Android System again with 46m 51s of total time. Nothing came close to those. Could you name to me one good app that monitors apps that drain battery? xD I'm using Battery Monitor Widget and System Panel Full. I've also calibrated the battery, no dice. I noticed on my Battery Monitor Widget that something is using 2mA while I'm charging with SBC. I know it's supposed to be using 0 mA -_-

My GAPPS restore apps no problem ... not sure whats going on there. But glad your flash addition is mollified temporarily!

It's theoretically SUPPOSED to do that, however it stays between 0 and 4mA (not a constantly 0 charge). The longer that you've had your battery, the more it does this.
One of the things that is rarely talked about with SBC is that it shortens the overall life of the battery. By gaining that 10% extra per charge on the frontend, it shortens the lifecycle of the battery significantly. Considering we replace our phone every year it rarely is a deal breaker, but the battery's ability to retain that superfull charge we all love about SBC lessens over time. Personally I believe it is totally worth it, but for people that hold onto their phone for more than a year, they sometimes need to get a new battery.
Out of curiosity, what kind of "massive battery drain" are you incurring? What kind of overall battery life / screen on time do you get, in hours?

[ROM][NOV.29]CM7 - Guinhill's OOBE ROM[v0.4][Bricked 1.6 b2]

=================================
Discontinued
I have swithed to ICS ;-)
=================================
Hi every one. I'm Guinhill and I'm a smart-phone enthusiast.
This will be my first public android ROM release. My previous cooking experience stems from Windows Mobile back to the Eten X500+ up to the HD2.
Why are you releasing this ROM?
It is my opinion that a new ROM should contribute something to the community. I don't want to release a ROM that does similar things as others.
My philosophy with this ROM is to give the user a good OOBE.
So what are you aiming for?
I aim to build a ROM with a great selection of apps that enable the user to do a wide selection of tasks whether this is busyness or a hobby.
Limited to free apps of course.
Will there be games?
I'm not planning on adding games.
Can I request apps?
Yes, I'm not in a position to test every available app there is to do a given task and I want to add the best one. So I expect there will be "words" on this. ( I hope they will be friendly )
----
Current Config v0.4
Bricked aosp 1.6 b2 kernel , V6-Maniac Battery_fix ,
V6Supercharger U9 RC4 : option 6 512MB balanced ( 6,12,55,70,85,100 MB )
build.prop tweaks taken from here , dalvik.vm.heapsize=64m
AGPS patch from Crypted gps.conf edited to not use Crypted's systems. I you want more follow the link and don't forget to support him.
Blocked adds trough hosts file ( * I'm still deciding if this is a good thing. If this rom is going to include add supported apps, I'll prolly drop it. )
Apps:
Go Launcher EX v2.67 , Go Widgets, Go Dutch Lang Pack
Go Launcher theme Cyanogenmod, not enabled by default.
Fauxclock 0.9 , teslacoil flash , Market 3.3.12 ,
Google: Plus, Translate, Music 4.0.9, Maps, Street view, Voice Search, Youtube
Justpictures 6.1, Dolphin Browser + some Plug-Ins
HandyCalc
Thinking of adding:
Go Dialer and Go SMS pro?

Other CM7 apps I don't use.
xbin ( terminal commands )
busybox ( v 1.9 )

To Do:
Create my own bootanimation , Better this and that and a new ROM.

Ow yea, One last thing you can download the ROM: HERE
App Packages
To prevent to mutch bloat ware getting in to the main release, I'll be compiling App packs to add functionality.
Paranoia Pack
The Idea behind this pack is to add Apps that enhance privacy and securety on the phone:
it currently contains: APG , Google Authenticator, K9Mail , KeePassDroid and WifiProtector., Lastpass the relevant Lastpass plugin for Dolphinbrowser. And OpenVPN settings
Multi Media
I'm thinking of adding MortPlayer and MortPlayer audiobook. Plus a good ( or the best ) Video player. Mobo Player has been hinted.
Social Pack ( idea )
A pack with more Social apps, Facebook,Linkedin, If you name it I'll ad it to the pack.
Game Pack ( idea )
A pack with games? if enough ppl are interesed I might make some time to do this.
Do you have Ideas for Apps that can be added to either the ROM or a Pack, please let me know either in the thread or by PM.
Version Change Log
0.4 ( Confident this won't cause a waninkoko )
0.3 ( 15 builds later, and an experiment with odexing to see if I can skim cache usage )
0.2 ( screwed up More testing )
0.1 ( internal testing )
I hope you like what I'm doing with this.
thanks for new rom i will try your rom in weekend
My issue with AOSP ROM is that wifi calling and proximity sensors don't get along well.

I don't think that will be fixd , with the development of CM7 being virtualy none existent with CM9 ( ICS ) coming up. At least if the problem is not kernel related, witch I don't think is.

What is it in this rom that gives it such good battery life as the screenshot showed? what are your cpu settings? voltages? cpu clock app, and anything else you do to get that battery life (what kind of settings).
thanks in advance!

I have an Anker 1900mA battery, so the normal 1550mA battery would have been between 15% 10% at this point.
My settings are:
the Kernel ( this does most of the work ).
FauxClock, screen off 192 mhz , Default settings when on. Ondemand Govener.
-100mV and GPU IO Fraction 50.
The other battery saving measures are in the build.prop.
I have added a screenshot of FauxClock. and one from Battery Monitor
Love the ROM! Only real issue I'm having that's not CM7 specific is the led flashlight isn't working. At least, not from the drop down widget button.

Thank You,
I replaced the default Flashlight ( torch ) with TeslaLED.
Could you describe how to get to the Drop down widget button.
I'm used to placing a TeslaLed widget on my desktop.
The fix should be easy. Readding the torch.apk to the rom.
The attached Torch.zip should do this for you.

[Discussion] Your Favourite Sensation Setup

So I tried looking for a general discussion thread about phone configs, but couldn't find anything... so I went ahead and made one myself.
Kernel and ROM:
I'm currently using @android1234567's CM10.2 build with the hacky 624MB kernel....
who cares if he's taken a few shortcuts.... I can multitask a lot better on this kernel than on his 598MB one or on any other 4.3 build.
Software and Mods:
1. Xposed. The newest Xposed is awesome.... older versions of the framework gave me significant lag.... don't seem to have any with this version.
2. Greenify with the donation features.
3. BootManager and RecieverStop xposed modules. They seem to make a huge difference in how well the phone performs by changing the apps that get triggered at startup and by certain intents.
4. Seeder. I actually feel that it might not be that useful, but activating it made me feel that things were a tiny bit faster, so I run it anyway regardless of the CPU load.
5. TricksterMod. Set CPU frequency to 192-1512 MHz and GPU at 266 MHz with Intellidemand CPU governor and Ondemand GPU governor.
This is perhaps the best setup I've had with my Sensation, with things at their snappiest.
Please feel free to discuss about your phone's setup, be it Sense or NonSense.
I was hoping to see a thread like this so we could get the most out of our phones!
ROM & Kernel in signature.
MOD; The Sense 5 MOD.. Don't really like it tbh. Too lazy to re-flash ROM currently to remove it.
Some apps that I use;
Link2SD. Just good overall app for managing other applications and such!
Greenify.
SD Maid. Easy SD-card cleaning tool.
That's it for now.. I could use some more apps
Anyways, I am really interested in this ''Seeder''..
Does it really work?
I guess I gotta give it a try.
1. Note: Not all of us can see your signature (XDA or Tapatalk app users)
2. Does anyone still use the Boot Manager app to run multiple ROMs? I purchased the Pro version years ago when I had my Evo. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager&hl=en
3. Currently using ViperS 3.1.2 but switch between MIUI and CM10.2 when I get the itch...

It does work, but the general consensus is that it's CPU use and battery drain outweigh the minor performance gains.
Try it out, but I'd rather recommend the Xposed modules I listed...
Edit: Greenify and SD Maid are awesome....
I just joined and I have been looking for a thread like this to optimize my sensation.
So far like greenify and sd maid.
Thanks for sharing.

Just installed the BootManager and I'm loving it so far; Xposed is awesome.
My current setup:
- Revelation 1.0.2 with KSM disabled
- SuperSU, just because it handles SU requests a lot better than anything else
- ViperFX, best audio effects mod in my opinion
- Greenify
- AdAway 2.7 just because
- Clean Master. Ridiculously well done for a free app; automated app2sd functionality, backup and restore apps, clean junk files, etc.
- Xposed with Icon Themer, Boot Manager, XVolume30 and Xprivacy

My current setup is :
Mikhei777 ROM with Xloud as add-on
Sultan Kernel @1.08 GHz (SIO, Ondemand, no backlights, no UV )
No seeder or any Swap mod as it's very fast !!
Don't use also greenify or app of the same kind.
I'm very satisfied of my setup

Oh, you'll love this.. So what actually is different in this kernel?
Core
Updated to 2.6.39.1
Brain F*ck Scheduler implemented for fast task switching, smooth scrolling and possible power saving
Code cleaned and optimized in the right places
Updated Android Binder, Ashmem and Timed GPIO drivers from 3.10-rc5 upstream sources
Compressed with the fastest compressor on the market: LZ4
Processor
Updated CPUFREQ drivers
Voltage Control (undervolted by default to a range of stable values)
Aggressive Overclock
PLL2 Overclock possible inside the app
Updated all the governors to their latest versions
Zen Governor written exclusively for our SoC
Zen
Borrows part of its scaling logic from SmartassV2
Adds Zen Dynamics
This feature makes the governor's parameters completely dynamic. The parameters change by themselves based on various system information (cpu load, suspended state etc.) This ensures that the governor will not bump to high frequencies when it is not needed, and that it will provide enough computational power in high workload cases.
Performance Bias parameter
This is a simple number between 0 and 15 and the only tunable parameter of the Zen governor. When this is changed every other parameter is recalculated through different formulas based on this value. A higher value will make your phone snappier, at the cost of some battery life and viceversa.
TouchPulse and SweepPulse interfaces
TouchPulse is the updated and much more accurate version of the older BoostPulse. This works by giving a slight boost on user input (key or touch).
SweepPulse shoots the CPU frequency to the maximum value when a Sweep function is activated to ensure best responsivity. Don't worry, this happens very fast, so no battery life is wasted in the process.
Suspend profile
When the screen is turned off, the governor keeps the power usage at minimum by re-tuning its parameters
Memory
LowMemoryKiller updated from 3.10-rc5 upstream sources
LMK Whitelist
This is a list of apps which will never be killed by the system, unless you do it intentionally.
I didn't have time to implement a better way for adding apps to this list, so I'll explain the primitive and only usable way right now.
In /system/etc/Badass you will find a file called whitelist. This file can only contain apps in java class path form, separated by commas. Like this:
com.touchtype.swiftkey, org.adw.launcher, com.whatever.app
All the apps that you add to this list, will be written to the LowMemoryKiller at every boot.
LMK Aggressivity: this parameter makes app-killing more or less aggressive. It can be controlled inside the app.
Latest ZRam driver with LZ4 compression (activated at boot so you won't have to bother)
Sweep functions
When the screen is off...
Sweep2Wake
This gesture wakes the phone by sliding your finger from left to right in the middle of the screen
Its sensitivity is controlled by a single parameter (factor) which can be modified inside the app
DoubleTap2[Wake/Play/Pause]
This gesture wakes the phone with a double tap on the screen if the lock timeout of 5 seconds hasn't passed yet. If the timeout has passed, double tapping the screen will Play/Pause the music.
The Media Control feature (Play/Pause) can be disabled, making DoubleTap2Wake work even after the lock timeout has passed.
Pocket Keyguard
This feature prevents accidental unlocks when the phone is inside your pocket.
When the screen is on...
Sweep2Lock
SweepKeys
All these functions work by swiping up from the first 3 pixels at the bottom of the screen(deadzone).
The Deadzone and the Sweep sensitivity are changeable in the app.
*Sweep4Menu is only available for Galaxy Mini
Internet
Westwood+ TCP Congestions Algorithm
Adaptive RED net scheduler backported from 3.4 upstream sources
Congestion window values tweaked
TCP Proportional Rate Reduction
Performance
Zen and ROW I/O schedulers
Triple Buffering
TinyRCU
Dynamic Filesync
Using the 20-50x faster frandom generator instead of the default random.
Never depleting entropy using Haveged and some new kernel code.
Dynamically changing kernel values based on suspend profiles (writeback ratios, cache pressure etc)
System cleaning every 3 days:
Zipalign every apk
Vacuum and Reindex every SQLite database
Clean the garbage data created by the system
Clean app caches
SpeedMod (disable kernel debugging)
Remove 98% of the active debugging code
USB Fast Charge
Native Multitask Enhancer
Replace services.jar Supercharging with a more native approach
Make Home app unkillable
Raise PreviousApp priority to make task switching faster
Handle CPU time allowed for the foreground app
Raise priority of the following processes
Kernel Threads
ALSA driver (audio playback)
Keyboard
SystemUI
Restrict resources used by the media scanner
Dev's last words (a.k.a. read this carefully before saying anything stupid)
This is a stable version and I call it final. I won't update it, unless there are some major bugs like setting phones on fire, giving them artificial intelligence or sh*t like that.
DON'T USE ANY OTHER TWEAK ON THIS KERNEL. These tweaks include, but are not limited to:
Performance Pack
Fly-On Mod
CrossBreeder
I/O Tweaks
V6 Supercharger
Whatever else with a cool name which has the words script, pack or mod in it
Don't get me wrong, these mods are good (most of them), but what's good is already included in the kernel itself
Use Greenify. It is an awesome app, and it does its job very well. I couldn't fully replicate its' features inside the kernel because I don't have access to Android APIs.
The first boot will be slow, due to the zipaligning and SQLite optimizing. Don't freakin' panic. This will happen only once in three days.
If you feel that the system is slow with the kernel, raise the Performance Bias, the LMK Aggressivity and maybe your max CPU frequency. The default values are optimized for ICS, not JB. Play with those values until you find that sweet spot.
Change your damn Superuser app. Use SuperSU or an insecure SU binary. The original SU binaries found on ROMs are freakin' slow nowadays.
Even better, use ICS. JellyBean is not for our low-end phones. But, your choice..
The key settings for the SweepKeys are ROM dependant. For example Recents SweepKey might not work on some JB ROMs. I can't do anything to fix this.
Don't be lazy. I'm here to help, but please show me that you've made some effort on the research for your questions.

um yes considering its for android 4.0 and above (not yet for android 4.3).

Does it increase camera and gallery performance in cm10.1? Bcoz the camera and the wait time to the picture be loadeed in gallery was so laggy. Btw thanks, great job.
wow! thanks for your hard work o this project
i installed V2 on my miuiV4 and it's really smooth . multitasking is really better than previous version.
first i thought that sweep2things are buggy but after a day of working , i'm now comfortable with it.
- in word of performance it's perfect. thanks
- deep sleep works fine. :victory:
- i got some FC in controll app. first time that phone booted before i grant su permission i got so many FCs continuously!!
- sweep2wake sometimes doesn't work. after i puted and picked up my hand on proximity sensor , sweep2wake worked
- i'm not sure about this but it seems sometimes in sunlight prox sensor doesn't work at all (for sweep2wake function)
and thanks again !

Thanks for the review.
Yes, in bright sunlight the infrared sensor can be saturated and take wrong readings. I can't fix this unfortunately.
As I said in the Mini forums, I found a small flaw in the Sweep code and I will release a fix as soon as I get my laptop. This should make a better user experience with the Sweep functions.
First of all, thanks for your work
My review of Badassv2 in AOSP-ICS 4.0.4:
:good:
- The BadassControl app sometimes get FC but nothing to get relevance
- General performance are so good, i've never see my apps open so fast
:crying:
- After 30 minutes, when i open an app, it freezes and I'm obliged to remove the battery and turn on the device :/
-After the third reboot, the phone stays in bootloop and it never boot normally
So sad of this, because I love so much its performance... Anyway, thanks again
Well i tried on CM9 and CM10.1. Performance wise, its so good on CM9 but on CM10.1, it just lags many times (while opening any of apps and opening app drawer itself). I tried all the governors, OC and changed badass settings still lags appear. Previous version 1.9.2 is much better. So no matter how stable the kernel may be, we can't get much performce in CM10.1 right?
And for sweep functions, only doubletap2wake functions for the first time while booting and the screen lock disappears for first time. Even tried to cover proximity sensor but both s2w and dt2w wont work for me.
And sweep2lock also doesn't seem to work for me or am i doing it incorrectly?
If anyone observe CM10.1 to be more stable with no lags using this kernel, will u please share what governors and settings did u use?

Well I tried on CM10.1, works smoothly for me, I used Zen as well as On Demand governors & zen I/O Scheduler..
Also sweep functions did not work fr me aswell (Tried alot of things bt couldn't get it to work)
Otherwise the kernel is amazing, snappier than the default kernel..

Do u use default settings or tweaked a bit? Did u do a clean install?

I tested CM10.1 and I admit it is not smooth. But it's because I used ICS before and the difference is so much more noticeable. When Sweep functions don't work, it's because the app doesn't work as expected. If you delete the app, everything will work. I don't use Jelly Bean so I can't guarantee anything for it.

True with CM10.1 but ur previous version 1.9.2 gives good results if we OC to 652mhz. Although CM9 kernel is stable and has best performance n multitasking along with battery life. Maybe i have to live with CM10.1 version. Will u make one for CM10.2 please? A basic version without sweep functions and less governors and shedulers maybe.

Sorry but I can't revert all that stuff to make a basic version. It's not as easy as it sounds. I'll work on a CM10.2 kernel if there is any hope to get a fully working version of the ROM. Otherwise, I'll just make it bootable.

I know its too difficult to make one. But as CM10.2 development is going faster and its faster in performance compared to CM10.1. So maybe u can take a look once and decide for yourself .

I suggest changing your su binary. If you don't want to do this then you can delete it.

It is good but you must set it to always grant permission, not ask for it.

Additional Tweaks:
PVS Voltage tweaks:
-First thing you will need to do is figure out your PVS number. You can find this by using a root browser and go to /sys/module/clock_krait_8974/parameters/table_name
or /sys/module/clock_krait_8974/parameters/pvs_number.
-In the chart linked below, find your PVS number at the top and plug in the voltages for your PVS number. For best battery results, keep going up the list until your phone becomes unstable then go back down one and this will give you the best battery performance
*Additional Note: Because I have used the configuration from the s5 for the frequencies, follow the chart for the s5 voltages, NOT the m8

Not all features have made it back into the Sense Lollipop Kernel yet. But all the ones listed are in the GPE kernel.
First!
Good job Buck
Second! Looks awesome
Looks interesting! Thanks for sharing your work ?
Awesome! Working good on ARHD, so far no issues with stock video player(which happens w/other kernels).
Thank you!
I did another quick build yesterday. I wiped out some depreciated hot plug code that has a tendency to mess with the user set max and min some times. I just updated the link in the OP
yeaaaaaa buddy!
Great work as usual!!
ROM is now even smoother!
like budduhh
INteresting. Thank you for the effort.
Tried changing some things with Trickster and applying them locks up and reboots my phone.

Trickster seems to have issues with lollipop
No problems here using FauxClock
Thanks Buck! Flashed today and so far no issues. I had no problems using Trickster to adjust settings. The only time I had reboots using either Trickster or Faux is on the stock kernel.
Running smoothly on Sprint ?
Anyone try this on GSM?

I haven't had anything but issues with trickster on Lollipop. I would recommend using Faux Clock for now.

Weird was running trickster with GPE lollipop just fine, but will give Faux Clock a shot.
Thanks!
