Hi every one. I'm Guinhill and I'm a smart-phone enthusiast.
This will be my first public android ROM release. My previous cooking experience stems from Windows Mobile back to the Eten X500+ up to the HD2.
Why are you releasing this ROM?
It is my opinion that a new ROM should contribute something to the community. I don't want to release a ROM that does similar things as others.
My philosophy with this ROM is to give the user a good OOBE.
So what are you aiming for?
I aim to build a ROM with a great selection of apps that enable the user to do a wide selection of tasks whether this is busyness or a hobby.
Limited to free apps of course.
Will there be games?
I'm not planning on adding games.
Can I request apps?
Yes, I'm not in a position to test every available app there is to do a given task and I want to add the best one. So I expect there will be "words" on this. ( I hope they will be friendly )

The Idea behind this pack is to add Apps that enhance privacy and securety on the phone:
it currently contains: APG , Google Authenticator, K9Mail , KeePassDroid and WifiProtector., Lastpass the relevant Lastpass plugin for Dolphinbrowser. And OpenVPN settings

I'm thinking of adding MortPlayer and MortPlayer audiobook. Plus a good ( or the best ) Video player. Mobo Player has been hinted.

A pack with more Social apps, Facebook,Linkedin, If you name it I'll ad it to the pack.

A pack with games? if enough ppl are interesed I might make some time to do this.

I don't think that will be fixd , with the development of CM7 being virtualy none existent with CM9 ( ICS ) coming up. At least if the problem is not kernel related, witch I don't think is.

I can post some snaps but it's on par with other CM7 roms. And I have not implemented the Bricked camera fix. Because it causes trouble, like not booting anymore.

The cam fix is only for Sense bricked kernel. Correct me if i'm wrong : )

I have tested the Vignette Demo, but it seems to have trouble with the screen preview
What is it in this rom that gives it such good battery life as the screenshot showed? what are your cpu settings? voltages? cpu clock app, and anything else you do to get that battery life (what kind of settings).

I have an Anker 1900mA battery, so the normal 1550mA battery would have been between 15% 10% at this point.
My settings are:
the Kernel ( this does most of the work ).
FauxClock, screen off 192 mhz , Default settings when on. Ondemand Govener.
-100mV and GPU IO Fraction 50.
The other battery saving measures are in the build.prop.
I have added a screenshot of FauxClock. and one from Battery Monitor
Love the ROM! Only real issue I'm having that's not CM7 specific is the led flashlight isn't working. At least, not from the drop down widget button.

I replaced the default Flashlight ( torch ) with TeslaLED.
Could you describe how to get to the Drop down widget button.
I'm used to placing a TeslaLed widget on my desktop.
The fix should be easy. Readding the torch.apk to the rom.
The attached Torch.zip should do this for you.

Known (these issues have been acknowledged)
-Mms will not send while wifi is enabled. Quickly disabling it through the power menu will send the mms.
-personalize in settings force closes. This is because you don't have rosie guys.
-using update script still. had trouble with updater script so until I fix it im sticking with the update. This means this will work on all amon recoveries and all clockwork recoveries except for 3.0 which uses only updater scripts.
-make sure to update your radios
-having constant sync issues? Visit post 2 for a fix

Constant sync fix
Some users have been reporting constant sync issues. This is because of removing friendstream and peep which HTC framework syncs to. To fix the issue, flash this, which will restore the apps. I've updated to a properly signed package, so it should flash fine for you.
To those of you with voicemail notification issues. There is also an app in the market (SPC - Super Private Conversation) which you can block numbers with. All you need to do is download the app, add 9016 to your block list, and bye bye voicemail notifications. This should not effect you receiving voicemails at all, since its simply blocking the number through which the sms notification comes. If you're bothered by this notification try it out.

A: Yes, all should be working.
Q: Apps are missing!!?
A: I have removed a lot of apps from the stock build. All can be found in the downloadable file called "removed apps"

A: Correct, this rom is still a htc sense rom. These things are tricky to change as they are cooked into the actual base of the rom. For now, this is how its going to be.
Q: Will a alternate theme work on this rom?
A: Certainly, just remember I have made many edits to the framework which the theme has the potential to replace. Always nandroid. I have included some themes specifically compatible with the rom and will continue to support more.
Q: Help! I can't download apps from the market!?
A: This sometimes happens for one reason or another. If you have issues downloading from the market, open settings>applications>market and clear your market data. Then reboot. Should solve any market problems/slowness.
Q: Does this rom support a2sd?
A: Yes, since 2.1. It requires an ext partition on your sd card.
Q: Options in the "personalize" category in settings force close when trying to select them. (home wallpaper, scenes)
A: This is not a bug. This feature is alongside htcs launcher. These options WILL NOT work.

Once I'm able to get netarchys new kernel downloaded I'll try it out and let you guys know. The kernels are universal tho, so if you flash one, make sure to flash the no havs and it will keep frosts ramdisk intact.

No sir, as long as you wiped from 2+ to 3+ you should be good, as that is when the new build was released.
Oh, and I removed htc news from this one.. but if you flash over you will still have it. Not a big deal tho, if you like it, keep it. If not, titanium it.

Perfect rom thank you
Barn I just downloaded and installed and let me tell u this rom is by far the best rom I have ever flashed and right of the bat I can see the performance and bettery life I am a heavy internet user and usually within 15 min of surfing the net I see the battery drain and with this rom is hasn't even dropped a percent. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED and the multitouch keyboard is very a nice add.....

Barn - great work on this, sorry if this is a noob question: is the Sprint VM app flashable on this rom? I'd prefer that to texts when getting a VM. Otherwise, this + launcher pro = awesome.

Second question. Is the MattedBlue theme available yet for 3.1? The description still says 2.0+, but I didn't think it worked for 3.0 builds, since you changed quite a bit of the underlying framework.

No, it probably won't. I was hoping the creator would port it by now but no dice. I'll try n get to that soon as I know some of you guys liked the themes.
Next release in line is AOSP, then matted. I just gotta study for a bit.. haha
Basically this is as close to CM6 as we're gonna get while still having full functionality, right?

- Build .25 as mentioned
- feels a little snappier
- only chinese and english included
- NO GOOGLE APPS
- NO GOOGLE ACCOUNT SETUP
- A lot of weird chinese apps
- HTC Market - Kind of a Google Market, but completely chinese
- Fonts are a little smaller
- Statusbar Notifications/Quick Settings buttons smaller
- Because of smaller font and images in Statusbar NO scrolling anymore when going to quick settings
- New Radio works flawlessly here. Good reception, fast GPS fix
- Vending.APK can not be installed

I will try some stuff. First I want to get google apps on there.
Got some apps from the Gingerbread build (Lee / Mike).
What works so far is:

- Bluetooth / WiFi / Mobile Data / Telephone / GPS / aGPS

Contact Sync works, GMail as well, Google Maps too.
I realized they even stripped out Friendstream. Not the Widget itself, but the actual application (Facebook etc.). The Friendstream is being utilized for chinese community portals. Makes sense I guess, since I know that Facebook is kinda not available to the chinese people (I have a friend from china).
Going to integrate Friendstream as well... Doing all this step by step to prevent mistakes.

Okay, im kinda stuck with improving.
So far I got alot of stuff working.
- Google Apps + Google Sync
- Superuser
- SetCPU
- full english keyboard
Weird is that Mobile Data ALWAYS stays connected, regardless of an active WiFi connection.
All those chinese apps are confusing and a particular one ALWAYS crashes from time to time (dont know which one exactly).
HTC Facebook Integration seems really hard to achieve, dunno whats going on there. All needed files are there, but it just wont apply.
Location Service is NOT working. Weather App and Browser cant catch my location.
In total it seems like a totally stripped down HTC Sense UI Edition, which is actually pretty unstable. The new and smaller Rosie on the other hand seems nice to have. Gingerbread 2.3.3 didnt have a very huge impact on the performance, neither positive nor negative. It is still kinda sluggish and cant be compared to the already hugely optimized and smooth Froyo Sense UI 2.0 builds from our talented devs.
The new Radio seems rock solid. Strong signal, fast GPS lock. Dunno about the battery usage tho. Not enough testing.
Camera seemed to be similar to the previous build. And felt pretty laggy.

Hi all since i got my Sensation this week i thought let's use my O2X and DHD mod on this device too.
cm7 based (2.3.7) nicely themed and seriously fast!
Indication of included apps:
- Launcher PRO
- AVG Security
- adfree
- sqlite vacuum cleaner (by killjacken), nice cleaning tool for /data
- Honeycomb themed
- really fast
- Replaced the default android keyboard with the dark one (evo3d) found in the pyramid rom (thanks!)
To change the cpu settings, use the cm settings and then performance.

The Default Camera can be changed with the Miui Camera, cm7 camera won't really record 1080p or at least not with me.
The Miui Camere does, only the settings say it's 720p, but when you select 720p and play the movie with rockplayer or anyother player which can review the movie properties,
it will show you it's recorded in 1080p
However, the miui camera doesn't support the front cam yet.
Both Camera apps can be downloaded below, both flashable trough recovery. Just test what's working best for you, or flash the default cam back.
if you encounter bugs or anything else you want to mention, please feel free to do so.
Please backup and fully wipe before flashing this rom
- If you encounter a "bug" like your home button won't work, please reboot, this will fix it. This is a 1 time reboot, then the "bug" is gone!

Just one thing I have found so far on this rom, the keyboard displays normally except for on the buttons where you would normally long press for a number only 1,2,5 and 9 show up on their respective keys.
I have a quick question. In ARHD stock browser, you know how the pinch to zoom is like super smooth (galaxy s ii, wp7 and iphone like) and the page gets rendered after you let go of the pinch. Is there any way to bring it to other ROMS like this one?

That's only on Sense.... I don't know if ICS browser has that new feature though, I hope so.

Well the point.... Ehm this is not a Sense rom, lot's of mods on top of the cm7.1 build, so that's the point. No roms are exactly the same.
some prefere other themes and looks then others, apps, etc... This is why there should be multiple roms out here so there's one for everyone of us

Well it's a free app downloadable from the market, so i don't know why i couldn't use it
edditing a new version, build.prop tweaks are not all good. So i'll upload a new one when it's ready, for now use the first release.
EDIT: Fixed, the media tweaks were not all meant for this device, v04 on his way.
v0.1 which starts with me not at all. Full Wipe ext4.zip executed, Rom installed. Restart and then it is already hanging in the splash screen.

This is the same as IceCold. The default font is a bit different though. Other changes are listed above. I will post some shots later

I've been using LorD ClockaN's ROM for a long time now I'm a big fan of his work and effort that he's put into it, however.. a 'lite' version sounds great to me!
My layout on my phone, the way I customize it, is the exact same as whats in your ROM description. 3 home pages, no download tab in apps, the ringtones and notification etc... Thats all music to my ears brotha'! I hope he doesn't mind me using yours from now on, after all I now no longer have to change things after first boot Welcome to the scene haerigrek and thanks for making the world a better place. Hope you have lots of fun with it!!

Just installed the rom, so far so good. Runs smooth, as to expected since the base rom you use. Would like to know if you have any tweaks coming in next versions?

Yes I'm using only the Gmail so the stock email app is gone. The search button may not work. As I deleted GoogleQuickSearch, there is no search application. I will look into that and if necessary the app will be back. I never used it so I didn't even notice.
For future releases I'm planning on even more set customization. I started deleting languages. In next release the apex launcher will be english only (or if requested maybe some other languages). I am also waiting for some faster launcher to appear. I like Apex a lot, it reminds me of ADW but with all the customization options it tends to slow down after some time. I was thinking about replacing the stock browser since there are some problems with it but Chrome isn't ready and I don't want to impose any other browser on you guys + 7.5 is on its way and the issues with the browser should be fixed by then.
I would like to ask which battery icon would you guys like me to leave. I deleted all of them which ended up with an error mentioned in the first post. I am willing to bring one back but I need to know which one will be the happiest choice for you. After all I am sharing this so you can be happier Cheers

Thanks for support but I'm not developing, I'm merely modifying a great ROM to make it lighter to save space and maybe make the ROM run quicker.
It would be nice if you could refresh screenshots. I don't know how rest, but i like to see pictures of rom i am going to flash ;]
Btw. On first look, it seems quite nice.
This ROM looks like a cool idea! I just had a suggestion, I don't know if its in your "philosophy" of the ROM but wouldn't it be better if you left a little more stuff/everything in and let people choose what to keep or remove through Aroma.
For instance you can chose your ringtone at the start and not have extra ones wasting space or some people might want the stock sms and others might just prefer one from the play store.

Nexus Redefined- Final version.
Ok, guys time for the final version of this rom. Before that let me give thanks to you all. Its now proven that this rom is one of the best roms for our device, and this is possible only because you people liked the rom. Since previous two versions were almost perfect, i made a little change in this version. Hopefully u dont have to flash anything for bug fixing or camera. I now have very limited access to my phone since i have upgraded to Galaxy Nexus, the moment i created this version, i flashed it and checked the major features like camera, GPS, wifi etc. Seems fine to me, there should not be any further issue with it now. So here i present u Nexus Redefined rom.
Changelog:
Rebase the rom with Repacked version of Nexus V2.1 made by Stas2z. Big thanks to him for some bug fixing and liking my rom.
Radio is now updated.
Updated Apollo music player and CM file explorer. Now no lag while opening files.
Removed Stock android music player and Music Fx.
Added CM DSP manager- it should give some sound boost.
Pure Audio MoD.
Many init.d tweaks like- zram,sqlite,zipalign etc.
Adobe flash player added for viewing flash enable web sites.
Stock full functioning camera, no need to change built.pro or use previous files.
Fixed uninstalling giving FC

Thanks for ur opinion. Actually its my first cook. and i m searching for the resources to have it look like pure vanilla nexus. i have also discussed this matter with some pals. but it seems there are not so many people at this moment willing to work on it. Besides the resources to make a complete nexus like rom is limited too. and i m not a dev. just a rom cooker. i have been asking devs for their help regarding this matter. Since its MTK 6589, its really very hard to have compile even if u have complete sets or rersources. I had a talk with Brajesh, and i m a big fan of his work. Ultimate V2 is very good rom. thanks for pointing me out the issues, i will try to do my best that is within my reach.
and for the benchmark, i checked Antutu and Quadrant, on first run it scored 13111 on antutu and almost 4000 on quadrant, something like 3983. next time when i did intalled some apps antutu scored 13093. and this rom has no sound issue like xolo stock rom.
if u have some source of Nexus goodies like phone app and the other things u mentioned plz pm me. i will try to include them in next version. and yes its a ported rom, and thats why its hard to have complete nexus feel. if there were any way to built it from source, it would have been much easier. altough currently the kernel source is out, but it still lacks some vital files that is required to have fully functional custom kernel. Untill then, i dont see any hope for USB OTG. and next version will be a bare bone one, i will not include any 3rd party app on it.
one last thing mate, if u know a very good themer who is willing to work for our device, plz ask him to Join our group on facebook. Coz i dont think there is much hope without a good themer building a complete nexus like rom.

hey, firstly im glad u bothered to reply, just um taking care of the stuff in BOLD letters, woulda been enough, yeah i now its a mt6589 and making/porting aint easy, i tried pushing nexus 4 system apps, such as phone and contacts into our phones, but. dint really work out, i think its proly because of the different hardware relating to dual sim functionality, however u could try this, holo launcher is free and looks more stock than all other launchers, we already use the normal android 4.2 icons so those look stock, a black background for settings and other system apps, and no third party apps on a fresh ROM, these few stuff would give ur ROM a proper 4.2 stock vanilla look. im not a developer but i believe u can somehow give access to the developer options in settings... like force rendering en all. i already see ur half way there, there are pie controls in ur browser, there the nexus 4.2 camera, also. if u havent already included, throw the stock keyboard away replace with the actual 4.2 keyboard with gesture input http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964663 .. for audio make sure the phone sounds as good as ultimate v2 rom, the acid audio engine and some tweaks in the engineering mode helps increase volume also its easy to use Cyanogen Mod's Player, their file manager also in-cooperates holo theming and looks really stock.. all of these u can get from xda pages. i could help with links if u want, for theming, could be clear of what sort u want, cause we already have a vanilla looking status bar, notifications, icons n stuff.. i mean our framework is already vanilla themed. nexus 4 wallpapers, roms, are all over the internet in case u need em for anything, with ur current ROM, and with the stuff above.. Thank u for the encouragement bro. i have gathered some of the required resources. i just need to change the bakcground settings to black like brajesh's rom. His base rom is also very good, but i preferred this base because of multilanguage support and ofcourse it doesnt show the ugly 'G' mark. now come to the point. if u have anything in mind u want me to include in it, u can give me a list and it will be great if u provide the link also. next version, i will be using 2 launchers, Stock Google launcher and Holo launcher. so that users can choose. i also tried to push the dialer and phone apks into the system, but it force closes. i dont know how to fix this. may be its beacuse this rom is still deodexed. and about the music player, i m planning to use stock android music player and also i dont know why u liked Cyanogen file manager. btw, i will look into it. For sound enhancement, i decided not to include ACiD mod, instead i will add 'PureAudio' Mod, i already tried it and it works very good. mean while will add some built.prop and init.d tweaks. thanks for the feedback. i m glad u liked my work.

His base rom is also very good, but i preferred this base because of multilanguage support and ofcourse it doesnt show the ugly 'G' mark. now come to the point. if u have anything in mind u want me to include in it, u can give me a list and it will be great if u provide the link also. next version, i will be using 2 launchers, Stock Google launcher and Holo launcher. so that users can choose. i also tried to push the dialer and phone apks into the system, but it force closes. i dont know how to fix this. may be its beacuse this rom is still deodexed. and about the music player, i m planning to use stock android music player and also i dont know why u liked Cyanogen file manager. btw, i will look into it. For sound enhancement, i decided not to include ACiD mod, instead i will add 'PureAudio' Mod, i already tried it and it works very good. mean while will add some built.prop and init.d tweaks. thanks for the feedback. i m glad u liked my work.

i tried back37's alternate ROM myself, ... but GPS doesnt get a lock .. so cant use navigation .. please fix that...also u havent mentioned android version?.. games like subway surfers and temple run 2 run smoother on android 4.1 ROM.. but camera and multitasking, notifcation/statusbar shorcut controls are better on 4.2 so curious. please add mirror, i want to download this rightaway ... bdw.. thanks for adding lockscreen weather, developer options, engineering mode shortcut, and dark and clean ui! luv ur work thanks a lot man! add a mirror aurite?

hey Shuvo_bd ... thanks for re-uploading, Rom is awesome just one thing,. why does games like temple run OZ and subway surfer run buttery smooth on all 4.1 ROMS but stutter on all 4.2 ROMS .. how should i fix this please help.. everything else is awesome in ur ROM, this however drives me crazy its a quad core for pete's sake .. single core devices run it smooth .. and this one suffers

dont know brother. u can try my addons. use Fly on Mod according to the tutorial of original thread. it has many pluggins like balanced, multitasking, gaming. use gaming pluggins. this might help a bit. and make sure u dont turn on auto brightness while plying these 2 games. Auto brightness in this device is a bit restless. it tries to adjust brightness too quickly and thats why lags sometimes. setting brightness manually will solve this issue i think.

ISSUES:
android 4.2 default camera app with photosphere seems to be crap, photos taken are dark n bad... when compared to the stock camera app and the one in ultimate v2 rom (that was the best) solution : NONE.. i tried putting camera2.apk from ultimate v2 rom in system/app, and setting right permission but app doesnt show up.... SO I NEED UR HELP HERE. PLEASE tell me how to add that camera app instead of the one in ur ROM. thanks
gaming is stuttery ..not smooth on TEMPLE RUN 2, OZ and SUBWAY SURFERS (solved by enabling disable HW overlays option on developer options... however this option must be turned on every time the phone restarts) also UI more smooth after turning HW rendering... with these changes, gameplay is super smooth and unparalleled. PLEASE tell me a way to automatically turn on disable hw overlays option.
init.d folder is there, but flashing stuff like scripts from cwm which add scripts.. dont work, u have to manually put the scripts in place, like the fly on mod flashing failed... didnt do anything.. because scripts dont get added to init.d (solved by manually putting scripts in folder and setting permission)'
about phone shows galaxy nexus. woulda liked XOLO Q800
other minor bugs, phone or call button in dialer seems slightly dislocated or wrongly alligned,
woulda liked es file explorer over cm file manager ..also as for apollo, and cm file manager u used very early slow, pre-historic versions, these apps have been updated and made speedy, anywy thats not a issue...
PLEASE RESPOND, main priority ... is the camera problem how do i use gallary2.apk from ultimate v2 rom, (system/app ... right permissions tried already) instead of the current cam app. it sucks.

Thanks for liking my rom. about the Camera, i have uploaded Stock Camera with necessary files also built.prop editing TUT. Plz check OP, they are all included in the 2nd post. i was getting way too many complaints about nexus camera and had to upload the stock ones. I tried the method written by myself and camera with gallery works perfectly fine. and About init.d, i dont know but flashing fly on mod worked on mine, i use TWRP recovery. and i agree cm file manager is slow, i collect it from XDA somewhere and some guys ported it. dont know without port it will work or not. will try it. and about ticking HW overlay everytime, i have no working solution for it for now. i noticed it on every rom that has complete developers options.

Hmm, just checked the issue. pressing menu doesnt giving me force close but 3 circle edit button is giving me force close. sorry bro, currently i dont have any solution for this. may be i will build another version when i find a suitable base. till then, wait plz. thanks for pointing these out. remember, i m not a developer, i m just a modder.

Bugs- No major Bugs. Just noticed Google Chrome fc's and showing some incompatibility issue. I used older version which doesnt support 4.2. Just update the app from playstore and u r good to go.
Instruction for flashing-
1. Enter into recovery
2. From recovery take a backup just incase. Then wipe Data/Factory reset, Wipe cache and dalvic cache. You can also format System from advanced menu.
3. Now, flash the zip. When flashing is completed, wipe cache again.
4. Reboot.
Rom with more optimization and some awesome tweaks with all the bugs fixed coming soon.
