Hi all I having a problem with a number of Samsung Gear S2. After updating them to the latest firmware version from with the Gear S2 app the Bluetooth stops working?
I cannot connect it back to the phone I was using or another phone. Nor can any Bluetooth device see it.
I have tried to reboot the watch and phone as well as doing a factory reset on the watch. I turned the Bluetooth off and left for an hour but nothing I can get it back.
I can use the wifi mode to down grade the firmware to ver. R720XXU2AOJ3 then the Bluetooth come back to life?
Any know anything about this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Sorry for my bad english.
As i told in the title, my gear s2 is unable to reconnect BT after i turn it on-off on my phone (or after i reboot my phone).
Every time i shutdown bt or reboot phone, i have to partial-restore my gear s2 because samsung gear manager cant reconnect (it sent to me a little viber without connect).
Please, do you have any idea or trick for solve this problem?
Is there any way to "freeze" BT situation during phone restart? Maybe it could preserve my connection.
Thank you all.
And thanks samsung, stupid cheater (universal smartwatch, yeah! )
I solved with a trick, but when i move myself in another room and i lost BT connection, gear s2 wont auto reconnect to my phone :crying:

I Have the same problem, it´s always with a MM 6.0 rom. Any solution for this? Is there more people with the same issue?
Hey Guys -
I've had my Gear S2 for a few months now and even though I enjoy it, have a nagging issue I can't seem to fix. I've searched everywhere and tried a few things, but no luck.
My Issue
My Gear S2 is obviously connected to my phone via bluetooth most of the time. If / when I power on my headset (M 165), it does not work as phone still goes to the Gear S2. In Bluetooth Settings, it shows both connected, but the M165 says "(No Phone) behind it. The only way I can use the headset is if I turn off bluetooth on my Gear S2. The same thing happens when I connect to my car's bluetooth as it says "No Phone" too. (see attached screenshot)
What I've Tried
- Disabling "Phone Audio" for the Gear S2: When I do this, the watch disconnects from BT. When I reconnect it, Phone Audio is enabled again
- Bluetooth Auto Connect: I installed this and set the Gear S2 to enable everything but Media and Call audio then set the headset to have only those two enabled. Didn't make a difference when testing as things still connected the same way
- Tasker: I've tried using a variety of plugins to get things to connect correctly, but still no go
Specs
- Phone: HTC One A9 / Marshmallow 6.0.1 / Rooted / s-off
- Watch: Gear S2 / Latest Firmware
- Headset: PLT_M165
Any suggestions? Am I perhaps using Bluetooth Auto Connect wrong? Thanks!
Have you tried another Bluetooth headset? I recommend you to try it if you didn't. I am not experiencing this issue and here is my setup:
I have Note 5 with latest Android 6.0.1 available.
Gear s2 (3g/4g model from T-Mobile) with latest firmware available.
I have Jawbone ERA (few year old model)
I also have Plantronics Legend
When watch is connected to my phone and then I connect any of the above Bluetooth headsets to my phone, then I am able to make/received calls on the headsets and in Bluetooth settings I see "phone" where as your pictures show as "no phone".
How did you connect your watch to your phone by just pairing via Bluetooth or through Gear Manager app?
I have this same issue with my Pixel 2XL it seems that having a samsung phone fixes this issue but any other android phone will exhibit this issue. if you disable phone call audio to the watch everything else will work properly. but you cannnot take calls on the watch.
Has anyone found a better fix then this???
Hello everyone,
I have a Gear S3 Frontier bluetooth only model, and I noticed that if go outside the bluetooth range (10-15m from the phone) after I come back within the bluetooth range, the watch doesn't reconnect automatically, and I must reconnect it manually from the Gear Manager app.
My phone is a Samsung S6 edge+, and until now I had a Garmin Vivoactive which didn't had this problem.
I found in the Gear S forum a similar problem, and one proposed solution was to unpair it and pair it again.
I tried that and it worked, the watch reconnected automatically 2-3 times, but after 30min-1 hour the problem appeared again.
Does anyone else has this problem ?
Thanks

I did yesterday, all I had to to was turn on airplane mode then turn it back off, reconnected in seconds.
I also had this problem. Since I switched off WLAN, Bluetooth reconnects automatically.
Try this

I had this problem and it was driving me nuts but did a hard reset of my watch and now everything is working ok.
It looks though I had something else competing with my watch and by unpairing the watch, doing a reset and then resetting up my watch, cleared whatever was causing the issue.
I have nearly the same problem with watchmaker App.
When the Bluetooth connection is disconnected because out of range and the BT is reconnected again, the watchmaker has problems to sync with gears s3.
No data like phone battery, etc .. . Also sending watchfaces over BT is not working anymore.
But with other apps (Samsung Gear App), BT is always working great.
To solve the problem, I have to switch off BT on the smartphone and enable again.
After that the sync between watchmaker and Gears S3 is working well again until reconnect.
I have informed the watchmaker developer, but until now, I have gotten no feedback.
Android 6.0.1
Watchmaker App: 4.8.2
Thats a very old version of WatchMaker.
So I have the Gear S3 Frontier LTE and noticed tonight while walking that the GPS can only find a fix when the watch isn't connected to my phone via Bluetooth.
Is this the correct behavior? If not, how do I fix it?

I had the same problem, Gear S3 F paired with Huawei P10 lite... when I connected to phone GPS didnt work... BUT only with Android Oreo 8.0! If I installed other ROM, Nougat 7.x or 8.1 it worked perfect! With other phones with Oreo 8.0 or without pairing too... I dont understand, why... I gave Gear 3 times to service but they didnt find any problem (they tried it without phone I think....)
I have the same problem with Huawei p20 pro. Tried disabling all battery saving options for Samsung apps but no go. No GPS when connected on Bluetooth, making this "smart watch" just a watch and a step tracker.
After updating the Gear S Plugin to 2.2.03.19010761 and Galaxy Wearable t0 2.2.21.18080361, GPS works properly again.
Hi,
I hope someone can help me! I have a galaxy Watch 4 and it was paired with my Galaxy S7 phone. Everything worked perfectly. I had to send my watch for repair. Now it's back and my phone absolutely doesn't recognize the watch at all. The watch is not in the bluetooth device list. I cannot pair the watch with my phone.
I tried pairing the watch with another device to see if the watch was the problem. I was able to pair the watch with another android phone (galaxy A5). So the watch is not the problem. It seems that the problems lies within my galaxy S7 phone.
I tried rebooting both the watch and the phone. Didn't do anything.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the WEARABLE app. Didn't do anything. (the wearable app can't find the watch either).
I tried erasing cache memory of WEARABLE app. Didn't help.
I unpaired every bluetooth device from my phone, then tried to find the watch to pair, but the phone doesn't see the watch. Note that the phone can recognize and pair with every other devices: earbuds, car, speaker, etc.
I tried to find my phone from my watch bluetooth menu, but the watch doesn't see the phone.
I hope I explained the problem clearly. Does anyone have a solution to suggest? I hope so, because without being paired to my phone, my watch is basically useless...
Thanks!
