Hey guys!
My unit stops producing sound from time to time for like a day or so. Installing new firmware or something like that doesn't seem to do the trick.
If i shut mt car off and leave it for like 4 or 5 hours it works again.
Any thoughts?
In my opinion perhaps is related to hardware issues or bad connection to the speakers. Disconnection could occur while driving with bumps or just by time due to some dilatation (by the heat) on a defective welded joint.
AFAIK The headunit has audio output cables....try to connect anything to that output is sound is there during the "strange silence" you explained.
If you get sound from output signal while not from speakers....check speakers connection or anything disconnected in the electronics.

Hi I had the same time the sound was a time, not enough turn off for 5 hours and sound był.Po uploading the firmware of joying do not have this problem, already 1 week running and everything is ok Upload to probe and see our original soft
try v7 i have had no sound/bootloop issues at all
I installed v7 and it worked for a day. Now again no sound.
So strange....
If it's hardware you would think it wouldn't fix itself again.

Vibrations and shocks during trips could make the connection to go and to come..but I agree that it is strange thing
Try with the stock clean ROm. And check

Got it working again!
There was a speaker shorting out. Took some time to find the wire but it's all good now.

Please please help me - this is driving me nuts...
When playing back audio 90% of the time i will get an awful stuttering... it seems fine if i use wired audio
Sometimes it will work just fine, but most of the time it's really bad
I found somewhere online that seemed to link it to wifi scanning - i tried turning this off and it worked briefly, but then was back to how it was
Also, should probably add, it doesnt seem to matter what app I use - tried Spotify / Deezer / Google Music - all downloaded music
Any ideas?
Try to turn of bluetooth scanning. Go to Settings-> Location-> 3 dots

Darn
So guessing there isn't a solution out there then?
There is a talk.sonymobile.com z5 suite thread on this issue, you might want to follow up hoping for a permanent fix. There are several more or less temporary solutions in the vein of just rebooting, rebooting to safe mode and back, or just clear all apps cache. Few questions for you, is it only aptx headphones or speakers with this issue or even regular bt? Is the stuttering new to MM or was it already in LP too?
Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
Phone is brand new so only ever used on MM
Rebooting fixed very briefly.
Headphones are not aptx to my knowledge - they were fairly cheap from Amazon, but worked absolutely fine on my last phone, so I know it's not them...
Well, on train now and apart from some very minor stutters (which are barely noticeable) this solution has fixed the issue!
Massive thanks for the suggestion and help!
Turning off location scanning (mine was never on) doesn't help me. I thought the last MM patch fixed it, but I was wrong. Also, I'm having a problem now where devices will connect, but I will simply not get any audio through those devices. I have to reboot the phone for it to work. I've already posted in sonymobile, but this'll do it. Anyone want to buy a mint condition green Z5?
So I maybe spoke too soon. It is definitely better, but not perfect... Def got a few serious crackles on the way home. I can probably live with it if it stays like this tho
The real solution is to keep posting on that relevant sonymobile thread and thus let Sony know we're not happy with this ongoing issue.

Yep, def not fixed. Certainly miles better tho.
It's weird - it sounds like it's a strain issue (I.e. too many things running)/but I can be playing Lara Croft for 20mins with music and no stutter, but be messaging on WhatsApp and have it. Very very odd.
Will def post on the Sony Forums
I decided to write a post here, on Z5 forum, because on Z5C section is dead.
I read many topics where people have the same problem as I do. My phone is a Z5 compact, but this problem have all Z5 series phones and many others from Sony.
Everything is presented in a movie. Sorry for my english.
Found someone so far a fix for this?
I have exactly the same issue with my desktop speakers on Z5 ( headset connected via Bluetooth).
I would appreciate to get a fix for this.

it does not help, because i have for example 4 pairs of headphones with the same input and ONLY one of them work.. Same with aux cable
i have the exact same problem, but only when i plug it into my car. does it for like 5secs and just connects. but if i use headphone have never had a problem at all.
i figure since it only happens in my car im not overly fussed. usually takes the same amount of time to unlock my phone and start playing music, i use Shuttle so i set it to not auto start when headphones are plugged in.
im more annoyed that it has that notification that you cant get rid off!!! dont mind the headphones icon at the notification bar but just annoying that it stays in the notifications and you cant swipe to remove it.
I also have this problem with desktop speakers but never with headphones. Sometimes headphones will buzz a little when I spin the jack around but this is only temporary and if I blow into the headphone jack and put it in again there's no problem.

and no fix so far?..
If you wet the device, it can happen. Wait dry. If it are already dry, Wet the device again and wait to dry. The problem will be solved.

not that i know of. like i said it only happens when i use my phone in my car and it only lasts for 5seconds and it goes away. so it doesnt really bother me as much.
when using headphones, like my sennheisers or my xiaomi's or the sony ones that came with the phone i dont get that issue.
but like i said im more annoyed with that stupid notification that just stays there when ever anything is plugged in =/

I do not think that is hardware issue, because it's doesnt help me so far...
I picked up a MTCE_XRC unit, Mcu version is 2.72. Everything works great on the unit except ad2p. It sounds super distorted.
I went into the factory settings and saw the Bluetooth volume level was at 14, I lowered it to 10, and it sounds marginally better but I can still hear some distortion. Anything else I can do to help? Is it just crappy hardware?

Lower the volume of the phone Bluetooth to avoid saturation and enhance the volume of the unit.

check the equaliser settings and try another phone or app to play the music from
I tried lowering the volume in factory settings from 14 down to 5 and it still sounds like absolute crap. It sounds like a radio station. I have the md725 chipset.
Everything else works great, its just the a2dp sounds horrible

Try other phone...
Lower the Bluetooth volume from.phone...not from unit...you could be saturating the volume from source

Tried both, nothing helped. I think it is a hardware issue. Might return hardware
Im way past being able to return this unit. I've gone as far as unsoldering the md-725 built into the unit and betting a comfast wu-725 for USB. Didnt make a huge difference..
I also put the hal9k firmware on the unit. still sounding distorted. It's only in the upper frequencies, things like cymbals and such sound very distorted.
I also found a way newer XRC firmwares. V.2.80 and V.2.84. It still sounds distorted. But maybe it's a little better. Not sure.
It sounds almost like this is an hardware issue. I'd like to get another USB bluetooth dongle, maybe a SD-968. But I dont know what chipset that is or where to find one..
help!!!
Here is where to find latest XRC MCUs

I've had the same issue from day one with my dasaita unit to no avail, this seems to be a hardware issue regarding the Bluetooth so I doubt any software updates would help with this :/

Has been this way since MTCB.
my MTCC is pretty clear sounding. (In other car)
other people experiencing this problem, have you opened your unit?
My unit had a newer PX3 SOM that has a mini-hdmi port on it. Specificaly it also had a RockChip RK616 audio chip as well. Looking for commonalities with this issue.
I have same issue on my PX5 MTCE, BT music from my phone is distorted, I can hear taht should be related to sound compression or low bitrate.
till now I did not find a solution. Do someone succed with bluetooth USB dongle?
Nope, dont waste your time, its the same crap.
BT Sound Issues
I got a MTCE_XRC2 with the same issues.
Sound is distorted via a2dp and has high clipping.
The seller gave me un update, the sound is still crappy. I can listen music directly on the unit, so, this is not a biggy. The problem is when calling someone. They can hear me, but I cannot hear them well. The sound gets interrupted and distorted and it is really annoying.
Is my unit defective, should I return it? Or it s just bluetooth module they have in this unit?
Thanks!

I have the same unit from Hizpo. I'm searching for the OEM files. What seller did you use, and can you provide a link to the 'update' he provided? I'm ready to try Hal9k's rom, but without having a factory image to restore to, I don't want to jeopardize the warranty.
Sorry for the late reply, it’s not image of the actual android. It did not make any difference for me, so I don’t think you will need it either...
I am having an issue on some of my phone calls - maybe 1 or 2 out of every 10, but pretty regularly.
When I hit dial on the call (usually I am using my bluetooth headset but happens without the headset as well) I start to hear a loud static sound. This starts before the call even connects, but continues into the call and the other party cannot hear me. Sometimes I need to redial 2 or 3 times before I finally get a clear connection. It happens in situations where the phone is showing strong coverage, and starts happening as soon as I hit dial.
Several months ago I did drop my phone and I have some small cracks - when the phone is face down the cracks are in the top right corner and the bottom right corner.
I cant figure out what this static and crackle is happening and am wondering, could the cracks on the back have somehow impacted things? Other ideas?
Thank you for any help as I am considering replacing the phone over this issue.

Hi lirong,
this is not funny... I have no idea at this time, but did this issue really occur after the device fell down? I cannot imagine what kind of impact a crack in the back cover could have on phonecalls (but I can't rule it out either). Especially, when this happens just sometimes. I am not quite sure about the relation between cracks and your problem.
Did the problem persist over several updates? If you did not update your phone and have no worries on flashing nightly builds, I would give that a try. You're not on stock ROM, are you?
Sorry for the only very small help I can provide as a Note 3 user. Usually the S7 is a quite powerful and solid peace of smartphone. I wish you good luck!

Hi all, I'm looking to get this device as a replacement for my Mi 8 which is starting to give me some issues. I was looking at reviews online and saw there may be some Bluetooth connectivity issue with drops outs. Has anyone experienced this? Is this an issue or was it solved? Thanks.

I've used Bluetooth speaker 3 or 4 times for around 2 hours each time (once since I upgraded to Android 10.)
I've not had any issue with Bluetooth personally, but I've only ever connected to the same BT speaker. Obviously I'm not a huge Bluetooth user, so my personal experience will hold less weight than heavier users.

No issues here with headsets, speakers or cars (with/without Android Auto).
SmartWatch,tws no issues...
Left ear bud, Right ear bud, stereo buds, a few different brands of speakers, two cars, Bluetooth controllers and my computer, so far I haven't had any Bluetooth Issues, if I did it was a simple restart that fixed it, but that was a syncing issue with one of my older Bluetooth headphones.
