Hello,
I'd like to get the iOS lockscreen notifications on my S7 edge and I tried multiple lockscreens.
However CMLocker was the best so far but I don't really like Cheetah Mobile.
Is there a iOS-like lockscreen with the following features?
- notifications like iOS (e.g. show every Whatsapp-message as own notification without having to expand it to read the message)
- PIN-Security
- Fingerprint-Support OR Bypass lock if trusted device (in my case Huawei-Watch) is connected to the device
Already tried many apps and all of them had their problems:
- XZ live locker (overwrites notifications if you receive multiple ones and doesn't have one of the bypass-features)
- ZUI Locker-Elegant (no bypass-features for PIN)
- Hi Locker (don't know the reason anymore)
- Next Lockscreen (would be perfect but also overwrites the old message if you get multiple messages from the same person on Whatsapp)
- Echo Lock-Screen (don't know the reason anymore)
- SlideLock Locker (would be perfect, but also no security bypass like fingerprint or trusted device)
- NiLS Lock Screen Notifications (it's no lockscreen replacement, but the notifications re-appear after removing them)
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Nestade
Try goodlock from the galaxy store, it expands messages on swipe down, it's heaps customisable, and allows NC bluring similar to apples..
Additionally it also fixes a few security flaws.
And Lastly uses less battery!! Woohoo
If i could post photos, i would, but you can set custom widgets as clocks, and change the colour of the entire NC centre, it's the best.

Sorry to hear that OP - there maybe a shorter character restriction for some non native applications that im not too sure about.

Hints / Limitations:
* HTC Desire with stock ROM - how to fix LED blinking (let us know if it works for other phones with similar problem)
- On stock ROM, LED blinking will stop in about 5 mins after text message arrives. To workaround that we have added refresh during reminders. Simply, set reminders to a period of 5 mins to keep the led on. Btw, you can have reminders 'on' without need to set further Sound, Vibration, Turn on Display.
* LED colors / LED blink rate
- Your phone / rom needs to support that in a way it's accessible via standard Android API (android.app.Notification), otherwise the options won't work for you.
- We know that other programs may use some sort of workarounds and other tricks, but currently we don't have any plans to implement that.
* On-screen message visible when the phone is locked (in a sleep mode).
- Currently, not possible. To introduce that, it would mean to play with the Keyguard functionality in Android API which we are not sure we wanna do. Maybe in the future ... on TODO list.
- You could maybe try some other 3rd party apps which implements their own lock screen. Let us know here if you find something which works together with SMS Notifier.
From v1.5:
*NEW* The most wanted functions are here - Quick reply, Delete, Mark as read right from interactive popup
*NEW* If you don't like Ads or the Thank You screen or just wish to support us, please, consider buying SMS Notifier PREMIUM from our website
*NEW* Now requires Android OS 1.6+
From v1.4.2:
*FIX* fixed SE X10 notification issue
*NEW* click on the picture in interactive popup allows to call the sender
*NEW* possibility to change text color for popup
*NEW* time of received message in interactive popup
From v1.4.1:
*FIX* notification sound issues
*FIX* problem with different screen densities
*NEW* added support for Samsung Galaxy Tab
From v1.4:
*NEW* optional interactive on-screen message preview (popup)
From v1.3.1:
* Few minor fixes and new additional notification icons
From v1.3:
*NEW* privacy level now affects also on-screen preview and notification text in pulldown menu
*NEW* option to use different notification sound for reminders
*NEW* option to keep LED turned on (no blinking) - This needs to be supported by your phone HW / SW (ROM) in order to work
*NEW* option to enable/disable sound and vibration notifications during call
From v1.2.1:
* Few minor fixes and new app launcher icon
From v1.2:
*FIX* resolving contacts issue on Android 2.0+
*FIX* force close on background color selector
*NEW* option to display contact photo in on-screen preview
*NEW* changed on-screen preview icon
*NEW* more on-screen preview positions
From v1.1:
*FIX* audio issues (was probably bugged only on Droid and Droid X)
*NEW* option to customize background color (incl. transparency) of on-screen preview
*NEW* customizable position of on-screen preview
*NEW* added default Android notification icon
Features:
* shows number of unread messages in a notification bar
* adjustable level of privacy (no sender name or message text if you select)
* customizable sound, vibration and LED notifications
* possibility to change icon in a notification bar
* on-screen preview of new incoming messages
* notification reminder system
* quiet hours feature
* designed for a low battery consumption
* and more
If you think there is a feature your are missing or a bug which bothers you just let us know.

Nice little app that I would theme immediatelly !
Would be nice to have it in Android style..why using different icons? So it fits better..and missing the smilies
For example, I use only froyos default sms app and would like to use kind of a pop up plugin that fits and does not look like a different sms app.
greets
Edit: just did a quick edit...think I will keep this app now, looks like buid in..
I am curios how you gonna continue with this app..looking forward!!!
Hi rori,
Glad you like it.
I think we can add that default icon in the next update - need to double check the licensing first.
We have some plans for usability improvements and also some more eye-candy for the future releases.
Looking forward to more theming screenshots
Have a nice weekend.
And why not adding a text box that it allows us to make a reply ? Just like ChompSMS or Handcent or SMSPopup!
So far it is working great on my Samsung Moment. Thank you.
@aladin6:
There are two ways how to process an incoming message:
1) Let user just read a message (even if notification bar is not visible) with no interruption of whatever doing (watching a movie, playing a game,...).
This is implemented in SMS Notifier. We have missed this feature a lot in other sms applications and this is also one of the reasons why we have developed our own.
2) Interrupt running activity and force user to do some action ("popup").
This is considered for implementantion in the future, but it is not top priority at this moment.

Dont waste your time on your own UI....you just make a great app that fits to default and we have a feeling it is not a third party app, that´s all.

*NEW* added default Android notification icon
Also adding some hints to main post.

Regarding that icon in on-screen preview... wait for the next update where we will rework that part quite significantly. We believe you will like it
On another note, any Droid / X / 2 users? We're getting some strange reports regarding notification LED functionality. Could anybody with that phone(s) and using SMS Notifier describe us if it works for him as expected or what are the problems?
Basically, we are using native Android API for LED functionality and for example on HTC Desire we don't see any issues.
Superb app!! I am not sure if its a bug with HTC Desire (been using rooted stock for some time) but choosing LED color is not working

Thanks for the note. Correct. At least on Desire we don't see how to make it through Android API. Heard something about you need rooted device and work with charging LED. It's just black magic.

Does this notification app support Google Voice?
No onscreen notification here, using:

When using the test function on the app itself the notification appears.
Just not when I turn the screen of and then get an sms..
Still, A great app

Please make this an option if you go this route - I really hate having all those buttons and whatnot all over the screen. I like the idea of just a simple popup - click on it it to reply. I would like to see something like "2 other unread messages" somewhere else (if it doesn't already do this... I just installed it.)
Love the app - it just replaced SMS Popup on my EVO.
Quick question: in the OP the pop-up takes up the whole bottom third of the screen. On mine it just takes up a bit of each corner (or a bit in the center of the screen.) How do I get it to take up the whole width of the screen?

anyone else? any fix?
After using the phone for a month, here are my biggest problems with the device.
1. No Double tap to wake up, or even Raise to wake up. With the fingerprint on the back, and the small power button on the side it's really hard to wake up the phone just to check your notifications.
2. Notifications not working sometimes for some apps. Multiple reports for Viber and other apps even after giving permission to work on the background and show on the lock screen still not working.
3. No notification badge for all apps. Just for couple. As ex iPhone user this is great that some apps have it, but it would be better all apps to support it.
4. Notes doesn't sync with Google account. Big problem. On my iPhone it was so nice that all my notes were showing on the Notes app. Even when I had Galaxy Note 2 and 3 this was available.
5. No Reminders app. Okay they are trying to mimic the iOS experience, how they could forget about Reminders app? Now is so annoying to add a simple reminder. You need to go to Calendars app, make event, from there make it reminder... It's easier to use Google search and add it there by voice. But the tone for Google search is very weak and it's easy to miss the notification.
6. I would like more Themes. The catalog is pretty poor. Especially now for holidays it would be great more themes. And for kids too (Off-topic: Please make Frozen (movie) theme and upload it to the theme store, kids will love it).
7. Right now no Night mode. Hope they will add this with Update.
8. Stock Apps are not uploaded in Google Store. Huawei is still lacking in this area. Most OEMs are uploading all their apps for faster and easier updates. Now we need a new firmware if there is something broken/missing.
9. Huawei keyboard - this is connected to 7. It's outdated and missing a lot emojis. Had to switch to Google keyboard. For some reason Huawei keyboard makes less mistakes when typing and less mistakes when swyping. And instead of those ugly Blobs/robots emojis to change them to iOS/Samsung style. With those blobs most of the time you don't know what they express.. At least this is a big problem for me.
10. I wish the OS would use iOS/Samsung style emoji. Samsung phones see them like the one here on XDA, now even if you get text from iPhone, they show up as blobs.. Really hate this. Even developers are adding iOS style emojis in the android apps - Watsapp, Facebook messenger and others...
11. I don't know how it's called, Huawei assistant that finds your phone or makes calls. Too restricted. Here should be "Add reminder", "Wake up" simple command to wake up the screen. This is a good solution for number 1 from the list here.
12. No way to turn off the Haptic Feedback. This is really annoying! I don't like it, don't want it and not being able to get rid of it is a big problem.
I think this is all I don't like right now. If something comes up I will add it.
So, what about you?
P.S: If you want something or have problem with something please report it with Huawei Product & Technical Support Here.
I can only count 4 issues preventing this phone to be perfect for my needs:
1. Double tap to wake
2. No option to increase vibration
3. No option to hide nav buttons in certain applications
4. Image stabilization

1. Valid (u could root and get xposed)
2. Valid (i think there are xposed modules for this no idea. havent rooted myself)
3. Valid (but u could get nova launcher or sth)
4. No idea about this one, dont personally use notes
5. I think this is a minor problem, nothing major tbh
6. There are plenty of emui themes on the interwebz
7. idk which version you have but I have night mode in mine (non rooted stock). You just go to do not disturb and u can set evening times
8. Valid (but u could root and disable and then use google apps)
9. Keyboard is minor problem. plenty of choices on google play store that blow this crappy stock keyboard out the water i.e. google keyboard, swype, swiftkey (personally i use google)
10. (same as 6)You can get themes for that on xda and interwebz that change icons (if you use huawei home. Also, nova launcher etc. can change icons)
11. I wouldnt use huawei assistant to begin with. But thats your own personal opinion. (google now is way better)
12. Um again, idk what version you have but i can turn off haptic feedback (as in vibrations). Settings -> Sound -> Vibrate on touch.
ofc this is your personal list but rooting or following some of my suggestions could easily fix most of this. Also, in the next nougat update which will prob come around december or the very latest january, i think notifications are fixed. Ofc, they might add more settings as the beta build is beta and things can easily change as long as huawei wants to.

Emerald Launcher is a simple home screen for Android phones. It is based on TinyLaunch code with lots of improvements and is in beta stage. It provides some features to make it easy and nice to use. You can resize layout as you wish, apply icon packs, easily access apps via search or sort them by categories.
Download from Google Play
Source code on GitHub
Any help is appreciated. Please feel free to post suggestions or report found bugs here. Thanks.
Surprising not to see comments here. Just found it on F-Droid and think this is a fantastic launcher implementation. No unnecessary permissions, no ads, no statistics or analytics, good customization, fast.
Thank you so much for developing this. Still playing with it and personalizing. ( Came from using KISS launcher for quite a while. )
I was wondering if it would be possible to change a single application's icon ( or all of them but without installing an icon pack ) and found a workaround...
PNG files generated in Emerald's cache folder at /data/data etc can be replaced, one by one or all of them. No need for icon packs. In case this is useful to anybody.

Hello,
i also would like to thank the developer for this nice launcher. I tried it and found it great, but...
i'd like to have the ability to search contacts and settings and not only apps as Emerald does. Is it possible to add this feature as well as widget support?

Not to sound rude, but the lack of those features is a huge plus for me. Plenty of other launchers are loaded with functions such as those. Try KISS or OpenLauncher for instance, just to mention two out of dozens.
Hello.
Thank you everyone for the support and sorry for the late reply. @Ultramanoid, I came from KISS myself. It is fine, but lacks some features such as folders and grid layout, that's why I've forked TinyLaunch and started to modify it.

I'm going to add support for shortcuts, so it'll be possible to search through contacts if you add them on the homescreen. About settings... I think that settings search is unnecessary, because it won't speed up toggling much. Widgets are most likely not to be implemented. You can use EcoHome as a separate screen for widgets, it's very lightweight.
I'm looking for help with testing alpha versions of Emerald. If you want to help, please e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you the latest apk with instructions. I have to mention that test apks won't include features for Nougat and Oreo, so if you use these OS versions, please be ready to some bugs and make a backup of preferences. Thanks.
Might want to updated the link so it's not the description (should be this): Download From Play Store
Very nice launcher. I'm using on Nougat on a very special kind of phone (F25). I'm having a problem with an icon pack though. It just contains 2 icons but doesn't get applied in any way.
Okay but.....
Just gave it a quick try and here are my results
1 - adding to the dock, on my phone the home/back/recents button gets in the way. Seems to fix it if I turn the phone landscape and then back. But then it comes back as soon as I touch the menu on the top left - see screen shot.
2 - no shortcuts or 1x1 widgets - not sure how basic you want the launcher to be.
3 - on my phone I prefer to be able to move the things. like your search bar, etc. My phone is an HTC M8, anything that requires 2 hands to do (or reaching to the top of the screen) is annoying.
4 - since you only have 1 screen, maybe making gesters do something - like making swiping on any part of the screen switch categories (instead of the top of the screen).
5- Maybe allow changing the size of the text for the apps on the screen.
6 - If you set to just text, the dock has all little green android
might be more, but not ready for prime time, good luck.

Hello, @bradley_e_smith. Thank you for the review.
1. This issue was discovered already, but I can't reproduce it, because there is no phone with on-screen buttons to test it.
2. Shortcuts are planned and widgets are not.
3. I've updated the app recently. Now it's possible to move the main bar and apps to the bottom.
4. Yes, I'll probably add gestures soon.
5. The text size can be changed through appearance settings.
6. It's a known issue. I don't know what could be the best option to show. There are three possible options:
- always keep dock icons in cache;
- show text labels in dock.

Hello,

What is Easy Smart Phone?
Easy Smart Phone is a launcher app with big fonts, big icons and simplified user interface. Its main target is elderly people who has problems with small text and complex gestures on smart phone. Easy Smart Phone will make things easier for them.
What is current status?
Easy Smart Phone is under development and it is between alpha and beta status. Most of core functions has been developed but there are some missing features and could have bugs.
Current features
Launcher with big buttons and big text
No complex gestures to use smart phone. Just simple 1 page and you can access all features with scroll up and down gesture.
Dialer with big buttons
Default phone app replacement with blacklist, whitelist, SPAM reporting and auto block features
Big fonts for USSD message with custom USSD feature
Full customizable home screen
Home screen is single page and vertical scrollable
Contacts, apps, modules and widgets can be added and removed to home screen.
Home screen elements can be arranged by moving them up and down.
On rooted phones, WhatsApp profile picture can be used as caller photo and GSM calls.
Knows problems
Custom USSD service does not work for some codes like *#06#
Custom USSD service does not work for multi page messages
Custom USSD service should not work on android settings page, but it works
Call Log does not show display name on local contacts or recently added contacts
To send SMS, Easy Smart Phone must be set as default SMS app. But app does not check if it is default SMS app or not. So if you try to send SMS without setting app as default SMS app, app will crash. This will be fixed on next beta release.
Profile picture upload fails if picture size it too big
Phone call problems (Sometimes you need to press hangup button to exit call screen, if other party hangs up)
Notification LED cannot be turned on or off
TO DO

Custom numeric keypad
Call log at contacts page
Calculator
Camera
Gallery

You can install this app at Android 4.2+. But some features requires newer Android devices, because of Android SDK limitations. Such as
Phone replacement feature requires Android 6.0+
SMS replacement feature requires Android 4.4+
SIM selection for phone call requires Android 5.0+
Easy Smart Phone will be updated weekly . Each update may include new features and bug fixes
Root features tested only with Magisk. I have no idea if it will work with SuperSu or any other rooting method.

Did you mean should I decrease text size?
Is there anybody has an idea, if I upload this app to Google Play Store, will Google suspend this app and my account? Because of this app asks these sensitive permissions:
android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG
android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS
android.permission.READ_SMS
android.permission.WRITE_SMS
android.permission.SEND_SMS
Even I present documentation why I need these permissions, is it possible that google may suspend my app and my developer account?

1. I mean icon padding. Its placed to near one and another. You must made some ui change about icon padding side right and left and up down too. I test it with medium size in setting.
2. You need to up icon size resolution. In my FHD phone it look brushed.
3. In contact you must tweak it. Every time i open contact its delay couple of seconds. My contact is 600 person.
4. In SMS you must made some change for sender and receiver. I think its good if you use different alignment. Left for ingoing sms and right for outgoing.
5. In contact I prefer list option other than icon because it made hard too see long name contact.
Maybe that from me now. I really miss app like this for my parent. Sorry for my english

Thank you for these valuable feedbacks. I have added this list to my to do list.
1) I already have plans to add padding to icons.
2) I think I will try to make an option for text size: big, medium and small like icons. Current text size should be big or medium size.
3) I tried to speed up to opening contacts, sms list and call log. But I failed before. They are really slow. Espacially SMS list is too slow, if you have too much messages. Maybe I will try to load them partially.
4) I will think about this idea.
5) I am considering there will be another contacts page as list. so it will be user selectable: list or grid.

Number 1 and 2 in this list has been implemented with version 0.0.5.
1) Added some padding after each row. Not decided yet to add padding between columns.
2) Replaced most icons with higher resolution icons. More icons will be replaced in next versions.
Does anyone have a port of a rom from say the S20 for Android 11 on the Fold 2 I want those new features.
Would have been nice if Samsung did a Android 11 beta with the Fold 2 as well and not just the S20.
I hear you. You would think Samsung's most expensive phone would get the best service. Samsung should have a team working to get it out FIRST. I know they had to make some major changes, but Android 11 adds a lot of the multi screen stuff native.
Samsung said the the phone needs extra attention so it will be later. (From a Samsung Tweet).

Let the S20 owners "test" all the bugs in the beta and give us Fold2 owners a stable build for Xmas

The Note line doesn't even get the beta.
It's simply because the S20 series phones have the largest user base, so it makes sense to target them for the best possible and consistent bug reporting.
Samsung users don't really see the huge benefits of each iteration of Android, because generally new features have already appeared within OneUI. Seems Google take on cool Samsung features each year
So I am much more interested in what OneUI 3.0 is going to bring to the table (following info is from September 2020, so more features and amendments are likely since this release):

Hex Themes users have to think that way used for theme installation is hacky. There is a big chance new iteration of OneUI will block it and there will be no way to apply it any more.
I wish OneUI would let you use Icon Packs from the Google Play Store, like OxygenOS on 1+ phone does. These icons from the Samsung Theme store are pretty terrible and they dont cover as many icon as the Icon Packs do.

It can be initially tedious but using Nova Launcher allows you to customize your icons. So if you have some preferred set of icons (even like iOS ones from the JB community) you can manually apply them and save a back up.

The problem is that Nova forces the cover display to mimic the main display layout, which forced either poor use of the real estate on the main display, or extremely cramped cover display. On top of that, Nova + native gestures don't work too well and is a bit buggy. I've learned to appreciate Samsung's default home and use GoodLock + hex to make small changes.
But if OneUI were to allow us to use icon packs from the play store - I'd be absolutely besotted and would never even think about using Nova again. I hate ugly icons so much that I'm using Samsung's browser (which admittedly isn't bad at all since it works well on the Fold 2) because I hate looking at Google's ugly icon on my dock. I'll occasionally use Nova since it's already setup, but I miss bug-free native gestures + the awesome animations that come with the stock launcher.

I would use Action Launcher, but it doesn't work that well on this phone.

I'm looking into cloning KLWP as I've heard you can use a separate Preset on the cover so as not to have the issue you spoke about (& still use Nova).
